and by this time tomorrow (Saturday) it's all over.
We got another notice under our door the other day and the window installers are finally going to install the new windows Tuesday. Where were they last week when the weather was warmer?
I'm up out of here to pick up my "Night Lords" book on the way to work and later to call Chapters (Northgate) to see if they have the Kobo Aura covers. I want the green cover. On Saturday on my day off I'm getting a memory card for my Kobo reader at Future shop across the street then to Northgate/Chapters to get the cover and a gift card to download "Legion" and "Battle for the Abyss" Horus Heresy the next 2 books in the series. Maybe I can download them in the store. Then to Wendy's for a bite to eat and the #11 to Londonderry (Buds) for a beer, a bag of chips at the Dollarrama and then home on the same #11 to have a nap and get ready to watch the Canuck/Oiler's game.
Sunday I'm back at it for 7.5 hours. I just don't know what project I'm going to be on yet and that's my weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.
Welcome to my Blog. Just finished reading
"Fulgrim" early this morning and about to get into "Legion." Hopefully I'll have this book read before the end of the year.
We're on the chilly side of +1* this morning but we should be warming up a bit. The weekend is nice as we're (for this time of year) around +7* and that is ok by me.
Not much sleep overnight. RLS still plaguing me, making itself known all night. SInce there's no late night bus at Clareview when my train gets there about 10:25pm I'm walking home through Clareview shopping centre and getting in the house at about10:45pm.
I've got another full day ahead me as I head out of here under cold overcast skies. Anyway, that's all for now.

I was exausted last night and having a
early sleep sounded good at the time. Because of what happened with our iPad (see below) I felt bad and that compromised my sleep. Anne was pissed with me and rightly so:
Since our iPad usage space was almost full, we began to look for ways to remove things from it. One of the main culprits was Anne saving her iM messages/photo's. There was almost 6Gb/16Gb used from just that alone. She didn't want to delete them but if I could back them up for her, no problem. Then she said it's ok to delete just her in her sister's conversation, which included a lot of photos. Anne is the only one that uses iM. She uses the iPad more then I do. So I began checking in her iM if there was a delete function. I found that and it highlights a blue circle besides each entry. I wasn't looking for a undo feature. Ok. I showed her that if she highlights individual parts of the iM conversation as in my example as I showed this to her it should just remove the parts in the iM conversation she wants to have remove. When I hit the delete key to my shock it deleted all her sister's iM conversation. Anne was livid and this cause a kerfuffle in a big way. I felt terrible about this but its not a complete loss as her sister should have the same conversation on her device and all she has to do is copy and paste parts in the conversation that has the photo's etc she's missing. As compensation I gave the iPad to her since she uses it more then I do anyway. Apple needs a undo feature in their iM app.
This wrecked my sleep and about 5 this morning I figured since Anne was mad at me and wasn't talking to me, I'd read what's left of "Fulgrim." I've got a few pages left remaining and I need a memory card for my Kobo before I order in ebook format I want to order Legion on. I hope to go get my books at Audrey's Friday night run down to Rexall drugs at the end of the block and get a Visa gift card before work. Well that's the plan. I'm not sure about getting the desktop hard drive just yet as I'd like to have at least 1 day to sleep in. Anyway, that's all for now.

The snow that fell yesterday had come and gone
as there is a bit on the ground but not much. October and early April are almost identical around here, except October leads into cold and dark and April leads into warmth.
Hard to believe Halloween is only a few days away. After that its November. Sunday we change our clocks ahead 1 hour as the Sun sets about 6pm now and then about 5pm next week. We had a good Summer, lots of warm hot days a cool thunderstorm that sent me home early when the lights went out at Direct Buy. Direct buy saved my Summer financially because my current job usually dries up as far as work goes. Things slow down. I'd get 2 shifts/week, if that if I'm lucky. When work slows down again maybe by the end of May or so, I'll be looking for another "Direct buy" kind of job for next Summer. This is how it's going to go until I'm on pension for the next 2-3 years. Then I'll take what I can get and not worry when work slows down. Yet Halloween is almost here. It's a fun time for kids and adults.
As for me I've got another full day ahead. I'm surprised I'm holding up so well. By 8pm though, I'm feeling it and watching the clock. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Our first snow for the season has arrived overnight as three is a new blanket
of new snow on the ground (and coming down) as we speak. This one could stay on the ground until it melts off in the 2nd half of April.
I've had 5 early morning straight days now. Including my "day off on Saturday." Unless things change I'll be 1-10pm all week as needed. I need those hours big time.
Hopefully this upcoming Saturday I can go out and get a dual bay hard drive dock. I'm looking at the one with the highest rating, and a 500Gb hard drive, a sata/ide conncector, a screwdriver set and a notebook cooling tray. I've never installed a hard drive before. I'm going to call ahead first this week to see if they have what I need in stock. I'm going to leave out of here about noon and run out to get my stuff. I'm replacing a 10 year old max out hard drive that has no space on it.
Not much going on around here since Saturday. Anne's doing laundry today. Yesterday while doing face time with her sister she learned that her oldest sister (not the face time one) has lymph cancer. Its tree table but Anne's sister has said she lost 60 pounds in 1 week. I had the opportunity yo chat with Rose over the phone once a few years ago. Nice lady, I hope she wins this battle as our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Anyway, that's all for now.

Why sleep never came when I went to bed some
5 hours ago isn't much of a mystery. My restless legs syndrome compromised the idea of sleep as soon as I got under the covers.
I'm concerned about this meeting later this morning. I need to print off a copy of the report \i have to deliver at the meeting. it's in two pages but the font is small. I also got to dress up and head to Rexall, get the #8 bus to lodge by about 9:30am. I hope to leave out of here 8:30, in theory. This way I can have some breakfast cereal before heading out. After the meeting and festive board I hope I can get a ride back to my place and before Anne leaves. This way I can nap for awhile and maybe catch some of the BC/Winnipeg CFL game. There's no Oiler game this weekend so the Football game and maybe Doctor Who are all that's on TV this weekend.
I have a bit of a dilemma. I bought the Kobo aura ebook reader a few weeks ago reader to read Warhammer 40K ebooks etc that the Black Library (BL) doesn't publish in print form. As a experiment I tried to (using a popular 3rd party app called Calibre") and a book from Google's project Gutenberg. Kobo wouldn't take the book and I think this is because the book was not in a "Digital Rights Management" or DRM format. Next weekend I'm going to try and order a BL ebook from the Horus Heresy series as its in ePub format and see if that can be added to the aura library. If not then, that pretty much renders my Kobo useless. The other ebook option and I like this as well, is to get the new iPad mini 2. The iPad mini 3 has just been released but the mini 2 is cheaper and I can use it for other things as well. The iBook store has most if not all of the Horus Heresy stuff where as Kobo hasn't any Warhammer 40k. I don't know if I can get other BL ebook editions though from iBooks. Anne usually uses our iPad more then I do. I was also looking at the iPod touch 5th gen and that still might be a option but the screen size is still pretty small to read ebooks and I don't find it a very good reading experience as its hard on the eyes and too much pinch and zoom. The price difference between the low end iPad mini and the 32Gb iPod touch isn't that much of a price spread either. So, that's my dilemma. Do I keep trying to get ePub books onto Kobo or abandon Kobo for the mini, where I can buy ebooks using a iTunes gift card from there? Or will Calibre take the iTunes ebook from my laptop even though my laptop isn't a Mac? I have just under $10 bucks to spend in my iTunes account.
Not that I'm going to have much of a weekend anyway this time around what with this meeting this morning. At least \i'll have the night to myself. I'm back on the job tomorrow from noon-8pm. Its a long day Sunday and I'm 1-10pm all this week. Hours like these where I work are rare and I want to take advantage of them as they probably will come to a end by about Grey cup weekend. After that most likely its 5-9. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I always seem to be posting these blog posts
a day late. Reflecting on events of Thursday (yesterday) I was out there about 11:40am and the bus came by about noon. I got downtown 12:35pm, had a muffin I brought with me from the night before Anne had picked up from Superstore and then went to work only my screen had frozen. I was locked out. It took about half an hour for me to get back in and that slowed things down. I think I might have 7 completions all in all and the finale one took me over 10pm. I was leaving out with one of the girls that works with us and Soupie came out behind us as we were ready to cross the street and walked with us to Corona and we had a chat waiting for his train that came first as mine was something like 10:15pm away. I read more out of Fulgrim to pass the time until my train finally came and I read not feeling tired at all to Clareview and wow, a Northgate bus waiting there. I was home just before 11pm, wow! I don't think I've been that late getting home in awhile.
Anne made me a great burger and fries I'm about ready for bed. Coast has another soft show tonight but I'll listen in for a bit. Usually I'm in bed by 2:15-30am up at 10:30am and that gives me about 7.5-8 hours, anyway that's all for now.

When I left the apartment about noon
yesterday I felt a mild headache coming on. On, nothing to worry about. Note to self, do not try to catch bus after 12pm during the week. So I read on a slow train heading towards downtown. By the time the train got to Corona station, 3 other trains heading back the way I came had come and gone. This driver clearly was in no hurry. I ended up late.
Too make maters worse, my headache had stayed. I got into work and after my first completion, my blood sugar dropped. I had a break hoping something to eat will help. I went back to my dialer logged in and after a incomplete and another complete my sugars were really dropping. I asked the boss who is aware of my situation if I could go home. He agreed and I went downstairs to get a bottle of the real Coke. This is what lead me to acquiring diabetes in the first place. but it helped to raise my sugar levels. I left after that and went to Audrey's just to secure my book order in special orders and headed home. I must have dozed on the couch missing most of the Oiler game. Anyway, that's all for now.

By now most of us are well informed
about the terrorists in the middle east. Murderers is a better term. Yesterday one of these would be terrorist drove a car into some Canadian off duty military personnel killing 1 and eventually himself, and earlier the tragedy in Ottawa. Is it time for us to close the boarders from people coming from countries like Iraq or Syria? Do we need to go that far with these people? Not all of them hold radical ideas. How many other Zehaf-Bibeau's are there out there? For security reasons I've often wondered why does the military insist on have our off duty military dress in their uniforms, especially when mixing with the public? Its an open invitation for something like this to happen. Is this another armageddon? The murderers are not just in the middle east, they're right here. Only difference is they're not in black masks and waving black flags.
I don't know how long I'll be on this shift. I hope its for the duration but I'm just day-by-day on this current project.
Our District meeting is Saturday and I had a chance to skim over our District lodge report. The whole thing takes about 2 minutes to read. Apparently my secretary will be giving it to me there. In the meantime I'm going to print off a copy of what I have on hand. There, I'm having a adult beverage (beer) and possibly a bite to eat, depending on what my JW is bringing. But again, I'm up early. I haven't had a good sleep in since last Wednesday. I could use 3 days off but I also need the money. I don't mind having Saturday off, I just wish this thing was later in the afternoon so I could sleep in.
We've got another beautiful day out there. Sunsets at 6:22pm now as our "summer season" is about to come to a close. Daylight savings time, when we set our clocks back an hour will be November 2nd. Anyway, that's about all today.

So far my
9 hour days are holding out ok but its early yet. Anything can happen and I'm prepared for anything. If these hours hold out ok by mid next month I should have enough for my new computer. There were only 3 of us on the project at 10pm last night. It was nice to get out of there and enjoy the walk to Corona in the nice mild air and to get on the train and on my way home despite the wait at Corona. At Rexall all the Oiler fans spent a few extra minutes boarding the train and they seemed pretty happy. The Oiler's must have won. However the downside was I missed that bus and I ended up walking home from Clareview station. The weather was nice and mild and I didn't mind too much. It was nice to be surounded by all that copper and blue. I checked my iPad when I got home and the Oiler's finally won the first attempt out of 5 games as the finale score was 3-2 for us.
I just took this of the window installers and it looks like they are doing 2 suites at a time as they want to be done this side by first snow and do the rest next Spring. I just put my earplugs in and sleep from there and it doesn't bother me.
They're doing lots of pounding and hammering below. Anne tells me the windows look really nice and lock without having to put a stick in the frame. The locking mechanism is much better.
I got home last night to answer some email and watch what was left over of Monday night Raw. Better show this week then last week. "Hell in a cell" pay per view is this Sunday but I'll be at work.
One of the new guys also an Oiler fan was showing me that he can get live TV on his smart phone. We tried to get some of the game on his phone but apparently his trial offer expired. Our cable bill is about $120/month and I just wonder how much his would cost with data on his phone but we have a lot of specialty channels. He said his plan is $75/month. Having TV on a cell phone would be great to watch the games on my break or if they are in progress on my way home but I just can't justify another $130/month. That'd be great to watch WWE pay per views on a cell phone on my breaks at work. It would make sense if I was working full time or when I'm on pension in a few years but not with this job.
I must have got 6.5 hours of sleep overnight and i don't feel too bad. Lets see how I am Saturday morning when I have to get up and go to lodge. Anyway, another 1-10 shift today so that's about all for now.

I barely got to work on time yesterday morning
"sleeping in" to past 10:20am. I needed to be at my bus by 11am and in at the job by noon. Heading into the office on 106th street by the WCB building there was a huge jointed style crane. My Subway coffee was free this morning for some reason.
There was a slight discrepancy with my posted schedule for the week and my email schedule. The posted schedule is the official one. Apparently I've got full time hours for this week but that could change (and I'm almost expecting it) at anytime. If all goes well, by Friday I "could" have 81 hours on my cheque. I wish I could get that all the time but that's rare. Also through out yesterday afternoon, (thanks to colleagues) I was able to track the scores of the Eskimo/Rider game. Esks 24/Riders 19. Surprisingly when I left at 8pm last night (very mild for this time of year btw) I wasn't tired.Normally I'd pass out on the train but i read a bit from my Warhammer 40K book. Still reading "Fulgrim."
Despite some hick-ups now and then at work, I had a good day on the job. If I can keep all of the proposed hours I'm looking at getting the motherboard and possibly the cpu for my pc. Anyway, that's all for now.

Apparently I read the letter wrong about the
window installers. The note under the door yesterday was to explain what is needed for when they do get here. I was under the impression from what I read, that they wee to be here Friday morning. I was half awake when I read it which is why it probably went in my brain the wrong way. Anne read the letter after I had left and it made more sense to her then when I first read it. She was all pissed off at me because I didn't read it properly causing her loss of sleep. Sleep, what's that? So they could be here next week, in the Spring. We don't know. Apparently we're getting new frames etc.
I was able to catch the last part of the 2nd period of the Canucks/Oiler game last night coming home just before 9:30pm. It was 1-0 Vancouver. The Oiler's played ok from what I saw in the 3rd. They played a good C+ defensive game and Vancouver scored into a open Oiler net making it 2-0. Not only are the Oiler's (so far this year) in last place again but they are off to their worst start in franchise history posting the loss last night makes it 1-4 now. The next Oiler game is Monday, and I'll see probably be able to watch another game (in whole or in part) until next they play on a Saturday night (I'm not giving up on the team) but that depends on what my schedule is for next week.
Last nights Coast to Coast was pretty good: Rock n' Roll and the occult. Of course with such a topic, you have to have a discussion about Aleister Crowley, Jimmy Page etc. Yet that was 40 years ago. It's my contention that the occult appeals more to young people then older people. There are those older folks still hanging on to what drew them into the occult in the first place. David Bowie was (and still could be) into the occult in his early career. Diamond Dogs is full of occult themes, so is early Alan Parson's project, Eye in the Sky album.
Speaking of which The office schedule for this week has yet to be posted not just for me but for everybody. As of now, I can't tell if I got work for this up coming week or not. I'm sure it will be posted or I'll be told what my hours are for this up coming week at work today as we begin the new project apparently today. Anyway, it's another full day today. I don't know about tomorrow if I'm working at all, but I have today. Anyway, that's all for now.
I was able to catch the last part of the 2nd period of the Canucks/Oiler game last night coming home just before 9:30pm. It was 1-0 Vancouver. The Oiler's played ok from what I saw in the 3rd. The window installers are here but haven't started yet
but most likely will by the time I leave out of here. The window panes are framed and its just a matter of pop out pop in type of thing. It seems like its a 1 person job. It doesn't look like its that complicated but getting the main two sliding windows will probably be done by an outside loader or hauled up the stairwell.
I've got another Warhammer 40K Omnibus book at Audrey's but I'm getting the Western today. The Nightlords book at the end of the month. I don't have to much to work with cash wise this weekend and next weekend is the District meeting.
Wow, what a beautiful day out there. It's +6, Sunny and should go up to +14 today. The longer we can keep snow off the ground this time of year the better. Its a full day today and I'm operating on maybe 2-3 hours sleep overnight. When I get home I'm just watching Smackdown and bed. Anyway, that's all for now.

Last night on
national news they brought up the R word, recession, a global recession. Our household was able to weather that storm only because I was working at Xentel and I had a good job. This time around I don't know. At the moment our local unemployment rate is about 5% (lowest in the country) but big Oil barrel price is dropping yesterday at $84, and our dollar is way down from a month ago. I'm employed now and probably up to the end of April. After that?
I've got a full day today and I'll be heading out of here in about a hour. One thing is certain at the end of this month I'm paying my lodge dues for 2015 while i have the funds.
The Oiler hockey game last night in Phoenix was a disaster:7-4! Hall scored 2 goals ad got a helper. He's the only guy doing anything on the team. Goal tending was dismal. Yes there are still 80 more games to be played but this is a crucial month.
At least the Sun is shining and the weather for my commute looks pretty good this afternoon. Anyway, that's all for now.

I have a day off
today, which is ok because I can make some phone calls tonight and watch the Oiler's game on TV. If the game looks bad I can always switch the channel.
We got a note under our door from management saying how Friday they're going to be installing new windows. It means we have to remove drapes, clear stuff away from the walls as work will begin 8:30am-5pm. I'm not sure if the window frames will need to be removed but it seems likely. Anne's going to read the note and she'll go ballistic. I'm not removing my computer desk. I can move the hutch and remove my laptop and Maschine and a few other things. We can move stuff on the balcony and leave it on the balcony. So the bedroom window gets done first and the office window we can move stuff at the other end to the bedroom window area. I'll be here before that. It depends on what they want to do first and if they'll need to come inside. At any event that ruins our Friday. I'll be leaving out of here at noon, Anne out of here by 3pm. Hopefully by the time she leaves out of here most of the work will be done.
When Anne leaves I'm going to research Fan Duel a little bit. I signed up a few weeks ago and uploaded some funds to play. I'll be doing that later today. Depend on the sport I'll need to fill out a roster and try out a game or two. I'm not going to go crazy, maybe $20 month. Its mostly for fun.
I'm still thinking about a cell phone as I can keep track of my fan dual (fd) games and sports scores in general. Getting a cell phone has been on my mind for awhile now. There are lots of different plans out there but I'm not going with Telus and I'm not sure about a iPhone. Average plan that I've been looking at has been about $90 for 2 Gb/month. Most likely its going to be a android phone, something that can fit in my pocket. With a cell phone I'm never away from my email and there have been many times where I needed to get to my email when I was away from my email. A cell phone makes sense, I'm just not sure I can afford $100 month at this point.
Anne took that well. She doesn't like it but she took it well, which is ok. So, we'll be working on that Thursday night. The bedroom drapes will be the last to come down I suppose.
Not much going on other then that. The weather is holding out ok as we're into +13's and +15's, which is pretty nice for this time of year. We'll be in low single digits by the end of the month. Anyway, that's all for now.

I woke up on the late side
of about 1:30pm today. That beer was a great sleeping aid. I passed right out after that. I needed a good 9 hours sleep.
It's a bit on the breezy side out there under bright sunny skies. Temperature is +15. Very nice for this time of year. I love the fall colours. This photo was taken moments ago:
Today I'm just relaxing, reading from my Warhammer 40k Fulgrim book. Later after brunch I'll probably work on a beat, answer some email and some lodge stuff and take it from there.
After the District meeting on the 25th of this month all I have to do is open lodge in November and December and I'm pretty much done. I'm back to where I was (lodge wise) in 2005.
Anne is doing laundry and vacuuming and stuff around the apartment. I'm just enjoying my day off puttering around on the computer. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I might have got
maybe 2-3 hours sleep overnight. Happens all the time Friday night/Saturday morning. It gets worse if I have a non decaf coffee during the evening and rls makes itself know. For now I'm holding out ok.
I still have yet to get a ebook up on my Kobo Aura. The Aura still says I have ebooks on it but it doesn't show up in the library. I think it's a browser issue, as it seems (from what I've seen and read) Kobo works with Internet Explorer more then with Firefox. In the forums some Kobo users are experiencing the same issue I'm having. At first I thought maybe I've a firewall up I didn't know about but that wasn't the case but Kobo doesn't have a ABC user's guide I'm thinking when I get my computer I might buy Kindle but I suspect I'll have similar issues no matter what ebook reader I'll have. Now I'm sure ordering books from the Kobo store works fine and well but this initial experiment is trying to get project Gutenberg ebooks to appear in my Kobo. My next project is to copy and paste and somehow have Pocket read it as a article.
After a long 8 hour day today I'll be home about 7:30pm and I can watch the Oiler/Vancouver game at 8 and I have a cold beer waiting for me in the fridge. I've got 2 days off and I go in on Tuesday for 8 hours. Wednesday I have a un scheduled day off. Maybe I can do some lodge visiting. There are 2 lodges that meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. I'd much rather have Tuesday off and go in Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat because Highlands has lodge on that Tuesday. This way I have 3 in a row days off. I might ask to see if I can make that slight change today. I still get the 30 hours on this weeks pay period and odds are good I'll have 30-35 hours on next week for a total of 60-65 hours. This pay period ends on the day of the 25th, which is the District meeting. Registration is at 10:30am and lunch at noon then the meeting. I do my bit and then festive board. Of course all of this is in between a pay cheque week, which I'm always pinching pennies (pp) in between these weekends. Even now its a pp weekend.
Last night we held our elections and I got all that out of the way. Siting in the back room, is my ipm said I have my new apron, a case for the apron and my jewel. The above is given to me during our installation in December. The certificate comes next year. As of until this last June I thought I would be sitting in the big chair again for another year. As of our last meeting before Summer break I learned I don't have to as some of the guys stepped up to fill in those chairs. For the first time since 2005, 9 years, I can just sit and relax in lodge and enjoy the evening.
I bought a Proline ticket last night for the Dallas/Seahawks game on Sunday. On holiday Monday its a CFL double header with the Riders/Al's,and Winnipeg/Edmonton games. The CFL games are both Visitors to win and Seattle rarely loses at home. This week I'm going to try my luck on Fan Duel fantasy sports betting. For now I'm just going to try $1-$2 games.
I was going to get a Tim's breakfast this morning and I still might do this on my way into work but I'm on a pp kind of a weekend. Since I have 3 days off this week, it's not going to impact me too much.
We're getting some nice weather here in the Edmonton area. Friday we got up to 20 degrees and today we're looking at 18. All next week we're looking at about 13-15. That's balmy for October around here. By this time next month, we could have 2-4 inches of snow on the ground and -16 weather -22 wind chill. This has been a long post and probably my last one for awhile for this weekend, I don't know yet. Anyway that's all for now.

Thursday was ok at least the
weather was mild and the rest of next week looks pretty good to after the long weekend.
Today I'm off work as I have my lodge meeting tonight. It's elections, and a lot of other stuff. As much as I'm looking forward to lodge, we have a lot going on. To be honest, I'll be relieved when my year is done. It's been a long 7 year journey. Up next? I'd like to join Royal Arch in the New Year.
Since I bought this Kobo ereader last Sunday, I've been trying to get some Project Gutenberg books to my Kobo and it's not easy. If I'm having trouble getting these books to load, imagine how much trouble I'm going to have ePub books to load that I buy? I'm using Calibre but even though it says the books are in my device they don't show up in my Kobo library. I haven't tried to get articles to my Kobo yet using Pocket.
Over the past couple of days there has been a reunion if the 1984 Edmonton Stanley Cup Oiler's. Gretzky, and all the rest were there. This all coincided with last nights opening Flames/Oiler's game. Game 1 for the Oiler, and they lose 5-2 over the Flames. The Edmonton Oiler's have the longest playoff drought in the league holding at 8 years now.
I'm keeping an eye on my scheduled for next week. I'm working Saturday and Monday is a stat holiday. I hope I have a full week ahead next week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Quiting on people or jobs or anything really
is not in my vocabulary, especially a job. Last job I quit was Whackenhut security in 1994. I had to quit a job this week because it was conflicting with my main job. I feel bad about it too because they've been calling me twice this week. If I'm a no show, they would assume I quit. I tried calling them with no luck. I'm going to call them in the morning to leave a message. I know I wont get paid for my training because I'd have to put 4 shifts in. I feel real bad about quitting this job as well as I don't like to burn my bridges. This is giving me a sick feeling inside because they are nice people and don't deserve this, yet at the same time, I don't think I would have been able to keep the job what with quotas and all. Anyway, that's all for now.

About noon earlier today I went out to Future Shop
and bought the Kobo Aura ebook reader. It doesn't mean I'm not buying paper books anymore. It's just that there are some Warhammer 40k books/etc that are only in ebook format and there is classic literature I want to read in ebook format and some mysteries I want to read as well. Also, this thing lets me upload pdf files and articles from the web. it's about the same size of a pocket book but lighter.
This afternoon, I was setting up my Kobo and fooling around with that, having brunch and getting ready for lodge practice earlier this evening. I had my first ride ever in a electric car on the way home. This thing can get something like 350KMH on one charge. My ride said it's all powered by solar power and one charge can last a week. His whole house is solar powered. He's not a environmentalist or anything. He said he just wanted the power of choice. What struck me the most was this huge screen in the dashboard. It had to be about 12x24." He has complete internet in the car, its amazing vehicle.
Friday is my last night to open and close lodge. Then I'm pretty much done. I have the District thing on Saturday the 25th and I'm booking off for that. My first meeting in November the new guy takes over and I'm just a bum in a chair after that. What I'd like to do during my ipm year is more District service.
As for tomorrow, I'm in 5-9 and hopefully I can have a talk with the boss to see if I can do the 2 hours instead of the 7 for the week. He's pretty flexible. Anyway, that's all for now.

The Sun is shining brightly this
morning as I'm packing my things up to get that 9am bus to Clareview and to 107th and 111th street. I'm there for 4 hours and then the bus back to Bay Station and I got about 4 blocks to go from there to 100th and 106th street as I'm working 3 hours from 3-6pm. It's going to be a long day. I won't be back until about 7pm, but I'll be ok. At least I'll be able to pass out on the couch when I get home and watch a bit of football, maybe. I could go back to bed and sleep until noon I'm that tired but at least I got more or less a full day. Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday while working my way through
Northgate mall I popped into Coles again to look at the Kobo Aura ebook reader. Its on my year end wish list. Most likely that's because by then, that's when I'll be able to afford it at the rate I'm going. Because between now and the end of the year, I have lodge dues to deal with.
While in Coles, I also went to see if they have any new Warhammer books there. They had 6 Omnibus books, including the recent "Nightlords." Plus with a ereader, I can import pdf files, web pages etc, and this one has wifi and a non beveled screen. The Aura has I think a 4Gb memory card with it and I can load my Marvel comic books as well.
After I had a look around at Coles I went to my pcn and had that appointment. I got 2 boxes of insulin to last me until the end of November. Then I have to pay out of pocket for December. It's going to be a 2/1 kind of thing until I can re-apply for those benefits next Spring.
I've got 4 hours today, 4 hours tomorrow (Saturday night off) Sunday lodge practice. In other words, I have a busy weekend I'm going to enjoy my Saturday night off. Anyway, that's all for now.

Feeling a lot better today then yesterday about this time
what with toothache trouble and all.
I went to bed this morning about 2am hoping I could pass out. Two am became 3 and 3am became 4 and Coast had a boring topic during the 2nd half. I couldn't sleep. I dozed off here and there and Anne came in about 5:30. i think I got an hour of sleep after about 8am. Yet I'm no worse for wear.
This afternoon, I'm heading out to pcn and then downtown to get a bank form. I've got a layover from there and ride the rails from there until I need to be at the other place at 5:15-915. I'm considering taking the #7 bus from downtown to the UoA and into work from there and take it back the same way. I might save about half an hour coming home but I'm not pressed for time working just 4 hours.
Other then that too much running around not enough hours. Anyway, that's all for now.

I might save about half an hour coming home but I'm not pressed for time working just 4 hours.
Other then that too much running around not enough hours. Anyway, that's all for now.
