The weather kept us

from going out. We wanted to go to "Stacks" but they close at 3pm. We would need to get out of here by 11:30am. I don't like rushing. Managment policy here has a monthly inspection of all seuites. They are mainly looking for pet oders that sort of thing, It's usually an in out type thing. Mostly the inspections are in the mornings. If that's the case, then Anne says we should go after that. I agree.

I went outside to get some air for awhile and my mail. The infill housing across the street is coming together nicely. Looks like its a 3 plex. Infill houseing is quite popular around here lately.

Other then the above not much else is going on. There's Smackdown tomorrow, Elks Home game Saturday. Life is good. Anyway, that's all for now.

While I never met

Queen Elizabeth, she was here in Edmonton the week before I arrived to open the Commonwealth games. The same week my brother got married. I got a job here and stayed after that leaving everything else behind. I was vaguely aware the Queen was even here in this city at the time. The arrival of the Queen (I seem to recall) made almost as much excitement as the games themselves. As I look back on that moment in history it was a special time in my life. Was it really 44 years ago? Wow.

Yesterday (after fasting for 12 hours) I headed out to Northgate mall, to see if I can get my compression stockings a week early and to Dynalife. It was a beautiful sunny day. I had lots of water with me. On my way, I cashed in a Blackjack ticket at the Clareview Redimart. I won $10 playing on Wednesday. I bought 5 more tickets to play for later. As for the stockings I'm on a program that covers 50% of those stockings. When I got to where I pick-up my stockings the girl at the counter said they don't even have them in stock to give them to me. So they placed an order for me. Then upstairs to Dynalife to get that blood sample to my Doctor. They didn't have the form on file. Which was odd because they usually do hold it for a few days. I think next time I'm going to make an appointment so there is no waiting. I heard in the line up there was a 40-minute wait time. So shot down twice. I bought some breakfast at Tim's, sat in the food court playing my scratch and win tickets, having a great time anyway. I won another $15 😲 That partially covered my Tim's breakfast. After I ate, I headed to the lottery booth and bought 5 more blackjack tickets to play when I get home. So I took a long way around inside the mall instead of just heading out the back way under the parkade. Northgate mall finally have the benches installed, which made navigating out of the mall easier. On my way out I noticed something called "Game City." I never knew this story existed before. It's basically a comic book card game store. They have a lot of Magic the Gathering cards. Some of them  (under a glass counter) have a price of $50+ Wow.

Still, on my outing from yesterday, I hobbled over to Northtown Transit and waited for the #123 Coliseum. From there the plan was to get the #104 and head home. It was such a nice day. While on the home I figured let's stop here at the Highlands Long & McQuade store. it used to be the old Safeway. I wanted to get the Arturia MiniFuse 2 audio interface since my Focusrite "died" on me about a week ago. I took $100 from my savings and $100 on my visa. I'll pay ~ 80% of my bills at the end of the month including my Arturia interface. Even Tim Waterson on staff was there my old work colleague from iMark. It was great chatting it up with him. Also, the good news in all of the above, I even ended up with over 4,000 steps. Despite not getting my compression stockings and bloodwork, I had a good day.

As for today, I'll be watching the Stampeders at Edmonton. Can the Elks finally win at Commonwealth? That game is on at 6pm.

Work will resume on Monday. I'm looking forward to getting back so I can pay my bills. I'll be posting in here once a week. Most likely on Sundays. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne and I went out over here

to Cork & Barley Thursday. I had the fish and chips. Anne had the Roast beef in Yorkshire pudding. She loved it. Mine was ok. Since it's almost across the street, we'll go again.

The Elks lost again last night at Commonwealth. Last night's loss indicates a record of 1,013 days without a win at Commonwealth. That win was against the BC Lions on October 13th, 2019. Keep in mind there is a pandemic underway. The good news is that our QB and one of our receivers are beginning to make a connection and seem to be in sync with each other. Just as we are heading into a bye week as well.

I finished reading Crickets, in a record 17 days😂. I don't normally read military sci-fi but I enjoyed this. My next book is:

Should be a good read since it's in 1st person, which is right up my street. The book above is ~ 450 pages in length so it's going to take me a bit longer to read.

Other than that, not much going on this weekend. The Pope is in town this weekend leaving Tuesday. I think I might put together another beat for my channel this weekend. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Saturday, my favorite day of the week

in which I like to wake up early. Early for me when I'm not going to bob, is about 9am when I'm not working. 11am when I am. I especially love Saturday morning coffee and every other Saturday, breakfast with the guys. On the 25th a bunch of us from another group will be at Northgate Smitty's. I'm looking forward to that.

I'm going to make a call this week to Edmonton SAGE to see what kind of social programs Anne and I can get involved in. I like card games but Anne isn't into anything like that. I tried teaching her cribbage years ago. What a disaster that was. A colleague at work on the commute home was telling me about Sage how she's always going out to various activities. of course there is an expense to anything.

This week I'm hoping to get back into work, hopefully after cut off so I can get a decent pay cheque. At the end of the month I'm trying to get a 2Tb ssd so I can clone my current 120Gb drive over to the new one, uninstall all my Komplete 12 Ultimate products and reinstall everything onto my new volume "C" drive. Once of course I go into BIOS and change the boot order. I have a Doctors appointment on the 9th, bob on the 11th, and we'll take it from there.  Anyway, that's all for now. WOW, over 10 years on Blogger.

I got almost all my things done yesterday as

I met a friend at Northgate got my haircut went to book an appointment for fittings for my compression stockings and then out for some lunch. It was a busy but good three hours. Plus I have an appointment for Wednesday morning for fittings for my compression stockings. The only casualty was not being able to go into Game City on my way out of the mall.

While it wasn't exactly a huge snow storm yesterday, it wasn't unexpected. Accumulation showed this morning to be about 2 inches, if that. It wasn't cold out there either. It was very slushy. Today's weather is expected to get up to plus 4.

And I have my window opened, as well. Its the winds from the south that make the difference.

In closing, Anne is on her way out to work. I get some much needed time here by myself here in the apartment. This week I could be off work for a few days. Plus I have that early morning appointment for fittings. The new project should start this week. I'm hoping for Thursday, so we'll see. Anyway, that's all for now.

I didn't get much reading done

this weekend. My goal for the novel I'm reading was to have it read this month. Just too many things got in the way. I hope to have it read in April.

Our dinner outing was nice. We took the #11 72nd street by Londonderry junior HS and walked towards our destination: Capital Pizza.

From the photo I took Anne is waiting for me in the bus shelter up ahead, about in the 11pm position if this photo was a clock. The little hand would be at about the 11pm position. Ann popped into Giant Tiger (the yellow sign) I went ahead of her to reserve our usual seat in the back. I ordered a diet Coke as Anne need to go into Giant Tiger to get her new cart. The pizza this time wasn't that great but I wasn't complaining. What we don't finish eating (and that's usually the case) we take the rest home. We went to DQ and I got my chocolate Sunday and then we walked back to the bus stop across the street from the basketball courts and home. I like that bus because it drops us off on our side of the street. It was a nice quiet day and had a Sunday feel to it. We were in by 6pm 8 hours ago.

After some sober thought, I decided to hit the pause button and put my plans on getting a custom built iMac on hold. After seeing the upcoming iPad 9.7" pro on YouTube, I thought so much for the iMac. The 9.7 has 4 speakers, is 64 bit, about the size of the iPad air, and can support the iPencil. Plus the 9.7 has a better camera and a better chip. I'd like to get the 32Gb version, but its priced at $800. When I'm ready to buy however wont be for at least Q4 of next year. By that time Apple will have released the 9.7 2 or +.

Today I'm at my 9:30pm job but I think this current project could be winding down today, and we might be going home early. It's a new pay period anyway. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, I'm at my 8:30pm job. Its a lot easier. Thursday, Friday I'm at my 9:30pm job and Saturday,10-6pm. Anyway, that's all for now.

My long weekend is about

to wind down. This afternoon Anne and I are heading out of here for pizza. Its a birthday dinner for her. Got to keep the wife happy and all. Hopefully, if everything works out ok this summer, I'll have a ei claim and I can take the summer off and a bit of help from Anne's family. If we can get help from Anne's family, I wont need to file a ei claim.

Looks like a nice looking day about to shape up out there. That's our temperature right now:

Over the weekend I managed to hook up my Ntendo to the Internet. I was able to download a Pokemon game demo and shot a video with the camera. I also unpacked YouTube and got it synced to my account. So I was able to get that done over the weekend. Happy Easter everyone. Anyway, that's all for now.

I forgot to bring my

iPod Touch camera as Anne and I ventured out yesterday to check out the new Clareview rec centre. My baby back ribs were slow cooking in the oven. Our first stop along the way was to Bulk Barn. I haven't been in the store yet. I got a bunch of candy for when my blood sugar levels drop. The Clareview rec centre has been opened for about a year now but we finally got a chance to get a look inside yesterday. Its really big. Lots of concourse, there are 2 NHL size ice surfaces, an indoor track and field area, tennis courts outside and a big pool, large sauna and smaller wading pools. Then there is the library. Very nice. What caught my attention was this beautiful desk for their new iMac. The desk had coaster like wheels on it. The library for a Monday was very active. Anne got a library card and ordered a book from one of the other city libraries. There was along ramp to the outside and, then to Walmart across the street. I was looking for the Belkin Rockstar headphone spliter device but they didn't have what I wanted. We almost bought me a new office chair and was ready to pay for it at the till but we were not confident it would hold a 200 pound man like myself so we left it behind. Anne bought some things and I was craving for a McDonald's strawberry ice cream. We walked home from there. My ribs were ready and I watched Monday night Raw. Anne wanted to check Staples to see what they had for office chairs but instead came back with 4 metal wheels for my current chair. it's almost like I've got a new office chair.

After our late evening meal I attempted to fool around with my webcam. I wanted to see if I could take a video of me doing something on my laptop with Maschine but the images I'm getting are all opposite. I'm not very happy with this webcam but I'm not giving up on it just yet. I need to tinker around with it some more. My iPod takes better video then this webcam. Eventually I'm going to get a a Go pro clone. I've seen some reviews on YouTube and for about $100 on Ebay.

About 2:30am I felt my stomach tighten and felt a bit nauseous, uh-oh. I knew what was coming. I was moaning and groaning with Oiler bucket in hand in the bedroom. I was sweating all over. Finally my stomach heaved and I just let er rip and brought up my nacho dinner. Anne found the Pepto B for me and that helped. I felt better and I had a shower, then went to bed after that. Spicy food and I do not get along. Other then the vomiting earlier this morning, I"m having a decent day. Anyway, that's all for now.

It was on this weekend

27 years ago was "black Friday." It was when Edmonton got hit by a F5 tornado that killed 27 people and injured about 300 people. It was the first F5 tornado in Canadian history. A YouTube search of Edmonton tornado, will provide some video of the event.

The Edmonton downtown arena project is coming along nicely. They are pouring concrete and moving forward n the projects development. There seems to be some activity today. By this time next year the Metro line lrt station wont be visible.

Yesterday we boarded the train to the University and got our bus to Royal pizza. I brought pop with me. Anne brought the little Rush Phillips player she bought me in 2006. I think the pizza outing was a pretext for her to go the store "No Frills" in the same shopping centre complex but while waiting for her and our pizza they had the "big screen" TV on with the Riders/Red blacks CFL game on. In the first quarter the score was something like 17-0 Riders. I had ice cream on my mind after the pizza but the waitress didn't know where a Dairy Queen was. After pizza we worked our way across the parking lot area and to the corner of 104/82nd. The press of people way too many. Then I realized: "Heritage days." Then Anne pointed across across the street on the corner "Dairy Queen." I'm surprised I didn't see it but our bus was coming and I just wanted to get out of this heat and home. At various points of the outing due to the heat our patience with each other was causing some stress between us. Anne had her music player on in the train there and back and I couldn't talk to her during the whole trip "I can hear you", she's raising her voice a couple of decibels louder above the music talking about my personal life, my job by name and my medical issues in around a lot of people. Sure they're not listening but it makes me feel uncomfortable. That was pissing me off. We're ok now but throughout the whole experience yesterday, I realized it was just the heat of the day. Anne blew up at me again before bed but apologized. I don't do Summer heat very well. I prefer winter -18-+18. Anywhere in there is ok by me. At the moment its +25 but feels like +31. That's a bit more bearable. I like Summer and the odd hot day I can tolerate but not for days on end.

Out of the whole day yesterday I was able to have Anne take a couple of really nice photos of me in my Esks CFL hat, wearing my green and gold. I'm using that for my blog as I'm updating it yet again. Not much going on for today just trying to enjoy the weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.

I think next month I'm going to get the

i5 pc after all. It's faster then a AMD not by much though. I've always had AMD processors in the past and they work ok but I'm going to try the i5. It's about $50 more for the money then the A8.

But I've got to pay my Lodge dues first before I get the pc and I'm at least month or two away after that. If I get days, then ok.

I left out of here for Londonderry mall about 4pm yesterday afternoon and 15 minutes later I was in the mall looking for Coles. They had one small book case of Western's but no "Eagles" books. The girl there had one not on the shelf of books to be placed and I bought it to me anyway. I was seriously thinking about the Louis L`Amor books but they were small, under 200 pages and for $7.99, purchasing 1 is hardly worth it. Next time, I'll buy 2 of them at a time but maybe from Audrey's. I found the food court and ordered a Taco Time burrito combo. Now to find Albert's. It's like a Smitty's and beside Albert's is Bud's lounge. I sat up to the bar and ordered a Molson Dry and read my Horus Rising book having a good time. I also watched a bit of Olympic mens hockey. I left shortly before 6pm and was told that Sport Check a store that's been there for awhile pulled out but a new tenant is slated to move in soon. I walked out the North side entrance beisde the old Sport Check location across the empty snow/ice parking lot. Both the #182 and #11 behind it pulled up and if it wasn't for a rider using the wheel chair ramp, I would have missed it. I got out of the bus beside my place and once inside began to watch Impact Wrestling.

I had a good night and Anne called from her break and then I got a iPsos Reid call wanting to do a survey. I was ready go ahead but I didn't qualify because I do market research. I enjoyed wrestling until I got a call from my office saying that the boss wanted me to come into the from 3-9 instead of 5-9. It'll give me some extra hours. I've got 2 days off after Saturday and most likely I'm 5-9 after that. And that's good. .

Anne found her copy of our 1997 lease and it clearly states that unless we have special written permission no washer's/dryers in our suite are allowed. So we're going to try and negotiate to keep them as they are mostly furniture but if we can keep one, Anne said she would prefer to keep the washer at least. The dishwasher, we can take to the dump, she's not happy but ok with that. It's a compromise. Anyway, that's all for now.

My morning commute was business as usual as I was able to read a bit heading into

the job. I got right to my station and into the job. I was having a great start to the beginning of the shift as well. I broke for lunch again at 1pm and read more  on Space Wolf Omnibus. I should have it read by the end of the week. The boss came up to me and asked me if I could work Saturday. Ok. It's going to give me almost 80 hours. I tried calling Anne but she was probably still sleeping. I got into a bit of trouble because on the phone I was doing my job and I didn't hear a "instruction." That's going to change, which is a good thing.

I had a trouble free commute home and read a bit on the train. I got my bus and there was Anne flagging me down as I got out of the bus across the set of lights here. So we got off over here by Manning Crossing as Anne wanted to eat first before my haircut at "Great cuts." She wanted to go to Quiznos (like Subway) and I'm looking for Happy Harbor. I noticed a closed up shop (uh-oh). The sign said: "This Happy Harbor location is closed after 5 years of serving the public. Please visit the original store etc etc." I might have visited the store maybe twice in those 5 years. It's kind of bitter sweet to see them close. Kind of reminds me of when the old "Adventure Gaming Supplies," store in Sandy Lane by my old place North of 95th/156th street in the mid 1990's. Happy Harbor never became the store I was hoping it would be. I got a funny feeling that the original Happy harbor will be closed within 5 years.

After Anne got her Quiznos we went to A&W as I got a double cheese burger and fries. She had shopping to do. I had my dinner and read while she was shopping for cat food. Then we caught the #11 bus  to Walmart after a long wait just outside the Petro Can. Finally about 7pm, it arrived. First to Clareview and then to just behind Moores and through the Walmart parking lot. Lots of ice patches all over the place.

Anne brought a coupon taking half price off my haircut. Good thing I brought along that Visa gift card she gave me for Christmas. Anne had some shopping to get done while I got my haircut. The worst part was getting home beause the side walk up to Michale's (an arts and crafts store) was a sheet of ice. I had to walk in the crusty windrow and even across the street same thing. Normally it would take me 10 minutes to get home. Anne was way ahead of me not waiting for me at all which kind of pissed me off. It was my fault for not bring my cleats.

Anne did my hair with a product called "Just for men." it's actually pretty good. Anyway, that's all for now.

I left out of here about 11am and caught the #2 bus downtown

getting off a bus stop to early I met 2 guys walking towards me obviously from the Lodge I said something Like "Commercial right?" They recognized my case and me in a business suit. They were heading out to get a coffee at 2nd Cup. It was a beautiful warm afternoon. We sat outside for a bit as it was about 12:10pm sitting on the patio there just where Anne is working now above. The meeting was short because they had a "table lodge," with spouses around  below. The meeting was short and it was nice to have a Lodge with an organist and a piper. I can't get into it much more then that. I was the only one representing our Lodge out of about 100+ guys from all over Northern Alberta. I was kind of disappointed that we didn't get enough of our guys out other then myself and our DC.

We were out by 2:30pm and I headed up the street thinking about getting a bit to eat where to catch the Contingency bus back to Clareview. I went into 7-11 and got some potato wedgies and a 3 for $5 crispy beef burrito's or what ever they were. A bus was about 50 feet away saying Clareview. I at my wedgies on the way to Stadium. I thought about waiting for Anne on the West side of Clareview where the contingency buses were but after about a 10 minute wait told me I must have just missed her.

I've been home for about an hour now having snack. I had a good afternoon but it's time for a nap, anyway that's about all for now.

Anne mentioned something

I hadn’t thought of: Today is Easter Sunday. How much of West Edmonton Mall will be open? The theaters obviously but what about the rest? I went to the mall’s website and today they are open from 11-6pm. If we leave out of here at 2pm get the train from Clareview to Southgate and the bus from there. We should get there by about 3pm. We can find a nice restaurant maybe Moxies will be open. I think the best way out to WEM is go downtown and get the #1. There’s a bus running ever 20 minutes. If we miss the Southgate bus that’s a further delay. That trip last November to go see James Bond took about 90 minutes. The other thing is Jack might not be open Monday as well. Anyway that’s all today.

This up coming

Easter weekend could be busy but in a nice way: Saturday I'm off for the last showing of Star War's Identities. I hope to provide pictures. Sunday Anne and I are heading out to West Edmonton Mall (WEM) to the movies. I want to see the new GI Joe movie and she likes the horror stuff but if she wants to see GI Joe with me, that's OK as well. At WEM I also want to visit Games Workshops by the ice palace on our way to Silver City movies to look around at the Warhammer stuff.

My expectations were not very high in January when the season began. All I could hope for was the Oiler's would be playing meaningful games down the stretch and they are.  Some good news yesterday, the Oiler's scored 1-0 over St. Louis. Like that was going to hold up. Then Eberle scored his 2nd goal of the night. I produced a skeptical smile. Then on the rush Eberle was about to score again he shot the puck dragging the goaltender away and there was Hall to pick up a juicy rebound. There was a goaltender change (obviously) after that and the Oiler's won 3-0! Nice. They play again Thursday at the Rex as Columbus is in town, with 18 games remaining in the regular season, not bad boys. Not that they are going to make the playoffs or anything but you never know.

I'll have Good Friday off Saturday to sleep in and I'm off to Telus World of Science (TWOS) for Star Wars, then Sunday out to the movies. Because we're calling businesses and most places are shut down Easter Monday, we might be off for Monday as well, which would mean a nice 4 day weekend. We don't know yet though. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Sunday, February 17, 2013

So my

wife decides to go to "the truck" over here by the U-Haul. It's like those industrial park trucks that bring coffee sandwiches that type of thing. In this case she get items she can't get at Superstore across the street. She gets our sausage rolls hash browns other items cheaper, so it's worth it for her to go once every other week or so.

We missed the #11 bus and because it's running half hour Sundays we took the #182. We waited at Londonderry Mall and then she decides she needs a Albert's breakfast at 3:55pm when the Mall closes at 5pm Sundays. I went along with that. We we're going to wait for the #2. I felt ok with that. Then she decides she wants a Albert's breakfast.

The good news is in Sportcheck on our way to Albert's I noticed they have the real Oiler Jersey's. If I can find Ryan Smyth's or Hemsky's  XLG, I'll pick it up. For $240 plus tax, that's a good deal.

Breakfast was good except they only gave me 1 egg instead of the 2. I'm not going in there for breakfast anymore. I like Londonderry Mall because on the way home the bus stops right outside our place. No busy street to cross after I've had a beer or 2 on a Friday night.

As for tomorrow, I'm not sure if I want to go to Happy Harbor comics or just go across the street to get my haircut but we'll see. Anyway, that's all for now

Saturday was notable

for 2 reasons: First, it was ground hog day and the hog did not see his shadow (here) which means we have an early Spring. Six weeks of winter instead of 8 but today sure felt like Spring. We‘re getting our March run-off a bit early. Also today marked the end of the penny here in Canada. My baconator combo was $9.75, including GST.

Hey, I won for the first time this year on the 6/49! Five bucks. My first win of the year. I got #15, #47 (including the bonus #) gets me $5! Wuu- Who!

I left out of here just before 3pm as I could see my bus approaching. The train hadn’t pulled out yet and I got a seat at the back of the last car. I pulled open my iPad and headphones and began listening to the Oiler’s/Av’s game. When I left the 3rd period was underway but there was no scoring when I lost connection in the tunnel at Churchill station. At Corona I got up to street level and over to Audrey‘s. They had a reading/book signing in the basement. I got my Warhammer 40K book, my book club bill said I‘m about the equivalent of 2 more “Space marine Battle‘s” book away from cashing in my points but I want to wait a bit more to save points for Robert J. Sawyer‘s latest release this Spring. After Audrey‘s I worked my way to Rexall and got a bottle of Pepsi (no diet in the cooler) and my 6/49 ticket for last night‘s draw. After a 5 minute line up later I was on my way East along 109th street to Long & McQuade. I made a bill payment and took a look at the monitors. LM can order me the 6“ KRK monitors in white but I‘m still looking at the Yamaha 8‘s. but the 8’s might be a bit over kill in my small space. They have a flatter response time then most of the rest and that plays into any producer‘s advantage. After LM I meandered my way over to Wendy‘s and got myself a Baconator/large fries and drink. Half way through my lunch I was a happy guy. After lunch about 5:30pm I headed next door to Future Shop to look around. I found the laptop I‘ve got my eye on. It‘s the i7 quad core 2.9 Lenovo Ideapad. At 8 Ram and 4 USB ports and a 750 Gb hard drive, this should do the trick but Future Shop‘s sale end today. It goes back up to $799, maybe when I get my tax return in May. I spent about half an hour at Future Shop After Future shop I headed back towards Corona station and thought about popping into BP’s for a pint and get caught up on the day’s NHL highlights but instead I just headed for home. I think my next LM payment, I’m going to head over to Denny’s instead have a pint with my meal and a block North I Happy Harbor Comics. I didn’t have enough cash with me today but that’s some thing to consider next time: Audrey’s, Rexall, LM to pay my bill then over to Denny’s around the corner from LM have meal and a pint and Happy Harbor comics is a block down the street and a bus to Corona station. Sounds like something to do every other week or so.

I had a great evening. I passed out a bit on the couch watching some of the Chicago/Flames game until Anne called. She’s at work for 7 hours because of the Super bowl game. This means, I’m holding down the fort.

As for today, I’m waking Anne up at 9am as she’s got to get out and be ready for work by 11am. She’s not a morning person. Welcome to my world for the last 12 years! Anyway, that’s about all for now.

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Yesterday afternoon from about

2pm till around 5:20pm, the gang I used to work with met at BP's for a few hours. There was about 10 of us. We had a good time and we will be doing this about every other month or so. After work I thought about going over to Audrey's for the finale book of the "Last of the Jedi" series but I was hungry and I wanted to try Tim's tomato soup and their new grill cheese sandwich. The soup wasn't that great and the sandwich even though the bread was grilled it looked like they just smeared cheese whiz between 2 slices of grilled toast. For that they charged me $7 for that and the bottle of diet Cola. That's one product I hope they remove. I would have got better value at Subway. After I ate and a wait for my Clareview train I was home about 6:35pm. Besides Tim's breakfast sausage-egg sandwich/hash browns and donuts/coffee, the only thing worthwhile about them is they have wifi.

I'm about ready to wrap up Stardoc #3 and then put this series to rest for awhile. I still need the last 3 books in this series but for now I need to go on and read some Warhammer 40K "Space Wolves" second Omnibus.

I read for awhile had a chat with Anne and watched the Oiler's/Flames game. I should have had them on my Proline today because I knew Calgary would win. They hadn't had a win this year, it was the over hyped "Battle of Alberta," the media likes to tout, the Flames were in their retro jerseys. They had all the ingredients. The team that played in the Saddle-dome last night was not the same team that beat LA 2-1 in OT the other day. Calgary was the better team and they needed this win, badly. The copper & blue came out of the gate looking bland but the Flames won by only 1 goal, 4-3

Tonight on Coast, the topic is on Vaccines & Geopolitics. Not exactly a topic I find interesting. Sunday night though the topic is UFOs: Secrets & Leaks! Should be a good one. Most likely I'll update this blog through out the day. Anyway, that's about all for now.            .

I left out of here yesterday

just before it began to snow. I got down to Tim’s, lots of places to sit. I had my breakfast and even iM’d a evidence photo.

I went over Audrey’s and got book #5 of the Space Marine Warhammer 40K series. I also ordered the 2 Imperial Guard Omnibus books as well.

I had a cold walk trudging in the snow blizzard to Freemason’s Hall. This was my 3rd visit to Commercial and I’m going to affiliate with them this Spring. I had a great afternoon. I had a new beer I hadn‘t tried before New Castle. I like it. They had a Robbie Burns dinner festive board. Sorry I won‘t try Haggis. Yuck. The festive board even served up shooters of whiskey. Now I don‘t know what brand this was but, it was smooth. I need ask the JW what brand that was but I think it was Drambuie. I had a great afternoon. I got home slightly on the tipsy side and had a nap before Anne called.

So I had the Lodge‘s secretary take this photo of me earlier. The lighting from my left is from some stained glass windows causing me to squint here:

Not much on my plate today. I‘m reading watching “Looper” on our VOD and following the Oiler/Canuck game. The game isn’t on TV but there are 3 games on TV this week. Cool

I was considering Wendy's for a bite to eat while I was at Clareview station on my bus but I'd have to wait for another 20 minutes and a block to Wendy's on 50th street (in this weather) and a brief wait across the street from the church. (no bus shelter) I wouldn't have had to cross the street out here on my way home getting off the bus like earlier when some asshole cut me off as I trying not to slip in the middle of the road with the pedestrian light in my favor. Next time I'm carrying a golf ball size rock in my pocket and a little bit aware. This has been about the 4th time this winter I got cut off by these creeps and I've had enough. I'm not going to target the glass just the back or side of the vehicle. I don't think I could ever do such a thing but these creeps don't care if they run you over either. Giving them the finger doesn't do them any good they just speed off along their way. Maybe I should have gone to Wendy's Anyway that's about all for today.

Ordinarily apartment living

is ok if the building is managed well. In all our 12 years of living here, it’s been pretty good but last night the people below us have been not good neighbors. They’ve been slamming that door with their stereo blaring. Good news is, they won’t last long. If they are still when the snow melts, I‘ll be surprised.

I‘m up at about 9:00am this morning to get a shower clean up dress in my suit and tie. Then it’s leave out of here by 10am get my bus to Clareview and the train to Corona station across the street to Audrey’s get my Warhammer 40k book cross the street to Tim’s and get my breakfast hang around for a bit until noon and work my way to Freemason’s Hall to get there by noon as they start at 1:00pm. That way I can meet with the guys, enjoy my beer I should be out of there by 5pm. It’ll be good.

Speaking of Warhammer 40K in my Black Library Newsletter the library released a new hardcover novella. It’s part of the Imperial Guard series. There are 2 Omnibus books in this series I still need to get and hopefully this Spring a subscription to Hammer and Bolter. Here’s a cool video as a tribute to the Imperial Guard:

Last night about 8pm I get a call from our Internet service provider. We tried to arrange for a service call earlier in the week about the trouble we we’re having with our television’s aspect ration. We cancelled the request and I guess they wanted to do a friendly customer service follow up call and offered us 2 free video on demand movies. Great, with Anne out Sunday and no Oiler TV hockey, why not? They have “Looper” on VOD Anne mentioned something about Pizza. Sounds like a good time.

This Monday is called Blue Monday and not because Oprah is coming to Edmonton at Rexall place. Especially hot on the heels of her revealing interview with Lance Armstrong. Somebody is making money. Otherwise, not a lot is going on this weekend. Anyway, that‘s all for now.

Earlier my wife had

a tech from Telus scheduled to come over Thursday but we figured out the aspect ratio was a product of the host remote control unit. We got our TV working fine now so we called to cancel.

This means I can head out Thursday to Scotia  to make a deposit and ordering a plug-in from Waves Factory. For $20.00 I can’t go wrong. Then over to RBC and then to Canada Place. I’ve been “cooped up” in here for a couple of days now.

I read this fascinating article on i09 on what it might look like for observers in a space ship looking out at space going at near light speed. You can read it here. These were physic students that did the study. The image showed a ball of white light with no stars around it. The article said it had something to do with the red shift and other things. As always in these i09 articles it’s the readers comments that are entertaining.

Last night the City was out there with their graders cleaning up windrows out here keeping me up until 4:30am. I finally got some sleep around 5-1pm. So, I’m hoping for a better nights sleep. There could always be updates through out the day. Anyway, that’s about all for now.
