During the last 72 hours, I think we

have had more rain volume then anything, I've ever seen here in this city. And this is more or less steady rain. Makes me homesick for the Lower mainland.

Speaking of weekend rain, yesterday at Commonwelth Stadium, the Elks (Canadian Football League) were hosting the Montreal Alouettes. The Al's have always been top in the East like the Riders here in the West.

Al's managed to tie the game @23 forcing OT. Elks needed a field goal to tie to keep the game going or a Touchdown. The rain at Commonweath affected both teams but Elks ended up with the W 32-29. Elks haven't had a record like this since 2019. This week is the rubber match where we're going to get a beating for sure.

I recently had to switch from LibreOffice to Apache OpenOffice because the fonts were glitching out on me. Honestly, neither quite matched Microsoft Works, which I used from 2005 to 2010 for my diary and short stories on an old Windows XP Compaq computer—I actually still have that hard drive but it'd not compatibe with my 2018 computer! Since Microsoft Word is the closest thing to Works today, it’s been on my radar for years. Since the only options now are a Microsoft 365 subscription or the Office 2024 one-time purchase, I decided to use $100 of my leftover allowance to buy the Office 2024 license. It felt like a necessary expense, and I’m really happy with the decision. Anyway, that’s all for now!.

Tonight its Friday

night Smackdown, tomorrow at 2pm its Montreal@ Elks. Elks home opener. Sunday is fathers day. Not that I get anything out of it. Tuesday is Patricia Lodge instalation as a friend of mine is getting installed in King Solomon's chair. My year in the Est was 2024. I'm thinking Wednesday would be a good day for Anne and I to go on our monthly outing. Thursday it's Winnipeg/Elks. Friday Smackdown, Saturday, night of Champions. Friday is also payday😀

Speaking of which, Akai has released the MPC 37 Gen 2. It's i white finish as below. The origonal one was in red. What's cool about this

new device is that it has double the Ram plus a usb c port to sample my iPad. It means I'm going to have to open my account at L&M. Anyway, that's all for now,

The weather kept us

from going out. We wanted to go to "Stacks" but they close at 3pm. We would need to get out of here by 11:30am. I don't like rushing. Managment policy here has a monthly inspection of all seuites. They are mainly looking for pet oders that sort of thing, It's usually an in out type thing. Mostly the inspections are in the mornings. If that's the case, then Anne says we should go after that. I agree.

I went outside to get some air for awhile and my mail. The infill housing across the street is coming together nicely. Looks like its a 3 plex. Infill houseing is quite popular around here lately.

Other then the above not much else is going on. There's Smackdown tomorrow, Elks Home game Saturday. Life is good. Anyway, that's all for now.

What I like about Edmonton in

June is we get most of our rain in one month. Early in June, the lilac bushes bloom, and some trees leaves are red. The air is perfumed and the days are longer. As an added bonus, it's playoff hockey season.

From yesterday's Coast to Coast news letter: On this date in 1878, Eadweard Muybridge used a series of cameras set on trip wires to film a running horse. Legend has it that his goal was to win a bet over whether or not horses had all four feet up at some point during their gait. His ingenious solution to this wager is credited as being the birth of the motion picture industry.

I had Sampletank 4 Max v2 since March 2022. Four years ago. It's a massive music production package of instruments, & samples. I didn't have the hard drive space at the time, but I do now. I think I'd rather get UVI's Sonic pass instead. It's a subscription but it covers everything, UVI releases. I have the space for this. Anyway, that's all for now.

It took a bit of Googling

but I found  out how to install Roms in my RetroBat Windows 11 software. I just need to map the controller to the game console. Now if I can get indy games installed, excellent.

Tonight, I'll be following the Canes/Vegas game 6. If Carolina wins tonight, they win the Stanley Cup. If Vegas wins they force

a game 7. On one hand, I'd like to see Mitch Marner win the Cup. On the other tonight, ex Oiler Taylor Hall could win. In hockey news, Oilers have not hired a head coach for the 2026-27 season. The plot thickens.

Not much going on this week. I have that DTC place to call. I think Anne want's to go out for our monthly outing. The Elks play their home opener as Montreal is in towm Saturday. That's about all for now.

The gang from

my lodge is in Red Deer for the Annual district Communication (ANCOM) and (I assume) other districts in the Province. I would have liked to attend if I was signle. It'd be something to save up for and it looks like a fun weekend. I think the Royal Arch version has already happened (Calgary?) This kind of syncs up with the 1980 Sherwood Park Medieval days weekend. Great memories.

While I'm not a Soccor fan the World Cup is being hosted by Canada. Games are scattered around the country. For that reasons the CFL BC Lions are in Saskatchewan bbut has nothing to do with  the World Cup in Vancouver

The Lions play this afternoon in Regina. I'll be watching a bit of it.  Maybe even passing out on the couch in the meantime.

Other then the above, not much going on today. This morning I was trying to figure out how to add games to RetroBat. I can't figure out how to do this. Was RetroBat installed properly? Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much going on

around here. Even my Facebook page has been lacking in output lately. Other then last Thursday, Lodge was about the only interesging thing going on. Lately, it's been Elks football and hockey.

On this date in 1994, a popcorn container was filled with approximately 6,619 cubic feet of popped corn.

The box was over 39 feet long, 20 feet wide and 8 feet tall. Corny, but true. On June 11,

I'm going to call this Dissability Tax credit service. See what they can do for a 73 year old man with scoliosis, with a metal rod in his spine, and CVI. My family Doctor would not sign off on AISH for me but my brother Mike is on AISH for the same thing. I just had an exray in April, so if they need that, I can get that easy enough. Anyway, that's all for now.

My sleep patterns

have been more or less regular but I can only get 5-6 hours spread over the course of 2 episodes. I'm usually in bed by 5:30am and up by 9am, and tired again by 11:30, back to bed and up at about 2:30pm. This has been going on from the time we moved in here. RLS plays a main part in it, and maybe watching too much video the last 2 hours before bed. Not a good idea.

On my plate today is BabaLon's talk this morning before bed (the 2nd time) Monday night Raw, and I'll be following the Canes/Vegas game as well.

In all of that, I'll get my 3100 steps in. I still haven't heard back from AADL about funding for my walker. It's not like I'm scaming the Government due to a "wrist injury" and driving my adapted son to and from school everyday and going on cross province road trips in the summer. I'm describing somebody else obviously. Anyway, that's all for now.

My iPad battery

lasted from 5:30-10pm but my USB A-C cable did the job. Next time, I'll bring my power bank. I was wiped out by the time I got in at 11:30pm. It was a great evening.

I'm looking forward to the Elks/Red blacks game in Ottawa. It's a 5pm start. Our first real regular season game. Elks are 1/1 preseason.

It was expected but we got a fire alarm encore this morning. This time to test the elevators. The noise was worse then before. It lasted for about 20 minutes. We're done until this time next year Anyway, that's all for now.

My window time line is tight

is tight this afternoon. At least after this evening, my summer begins. No AAFM. I'm keeping my summer gatherings down to a minimum. Just out with Anne once a month and Momentum end of June. In theory.

Today is International Hug Your Cat Day is celebrated annually on June 4 (though sometimes also observed on May 30).

It is a special holiday dedicated to celebrating the bond between humans and their feline friends by pampering them with extra cuddles, treats, and love. Buster (black) Skipy grey June 1st 2026

Smackdown (I think) is in Paris tomorrow night, so I can watch that anytime. This weekend should be easy going. I hope. Anyway, that's all for now.

I've got laptop maintenance as

IT is at it this morning, so I just need to power it up and let them log in remotely.

I finally got an update on my leg infection referral! Back in April, I asked the doctor for a referral to the South Side Primary Care Network (PCN). They called a few weeks later asking for a $100 visit fee, which didn't seem right to me so I held off. Then this afternoon, I got a voicemail from the Urgent Care clinic near Coliseum Station. The doctor actually arranged a referral for me at the Foot Institute instead. I'll need to look into that soon.

On the bright side, the fire alarm inspectors are finally done here. Yesterday was brutal—the testing is building-wide, so we had to hear every single suite's smoke detector go off. I was so exhausted by 1:00 PM that I went straight back to bed. It is finally going to be quiet around here! Anyway, that’s all for now.

The main story

of the day here was the fire alarm tester. Our visit was  about 1:30pm. The thing is, we and everybody else here's the same thing. So thisone guy has a pole, cups the alarm with this pole to set it off, and uses a spray of some kind that shuts it down. For each suite. And that's for both buildings. We have one more day of it. "Good news" is they finish at 3pm. Thank God!

We had another full rain day in the city. We had about a month's rain in 2 days. I like the rain, but I think that should be it for this week. Maybe.

Not only do I had yesterday early, but today more of the same and Tuesday its laptop morning maintenance. At least I can go back to bed. Thursday Lodge, Friday AARC. Then I'm off! I might want to go to "Ye Old Craft" next Saturday. It's a Saturday morning lodge. I can go get some Tim's before that, and file in. There's a Tim Hortons further East along 118th Ave. Anyway, that's all for now.

The highllight of yesterday

was watcing WWE "Clash in Italy." It was shorter then "Smackdown." It was a good crowd in Turin Italy.

Today was a rain day. Here in Strathern we received about 25mm of rain during the day,

which is considered a lot of rain for this part of the city. It was a slow day, but I needed this.

I've got 2 outings this week: Lodge and AASR Friday. Other then that, I'm just taking it easy. I've got a couple of projects I'm doing here at home.

Also, today & tomorrow, managment, will be testing suite fire alarms. One at a time. This building and the connector building. Anyway, that's all for now.
