yesterday afternoon, I watch CFL football. First there was the
Riders/Winnipeg game and then the Stamps/Esks game. That took me up to
about 10:30pm.I've had enough football for this weekend.
The other day i09 had a amusing article called:
"10 Historical People Who Were Real-Life Magicians," by Rob Bricken.
Some of the people I've read about before like, Roger Bacon,John Dee and
Edward Kelley etc. Any narrative about magic would be remiss if it
didn't include Aleister Crowley in the mix. My history within the OTO
and Thelema from 1980-1992 is well documented. When the article
mentioned that practitioners of Thelema allowed them to see the future
and travel astrally, well I must have passed out during that
conversation, damn!

I
was almost ready to buy the Logitech HD C525 webcam the other day. At
$30 seemed like a low cost solution to capture my music video jams. A
slight change in plans as I noticed on the Best Buy website they
increased the price to $60. I might get it again or something better
when I get back to work hopefully before the end of the month. I'm just
using Windows movie maker, which is pretty good for audio and video. A
few months ago I discovered a open source program called "Blender,"
which has some pretty good editing features.
On
my agenda this week, I'll be doing business with ei and then my bank to
set up my Provincial adult health benefits. I'm setting up and or
calling on a few part time job prospects this week as well. Yet before
that happens I need to get some information about the upcoming project
when I go into the office to pick up my small cheque Friday. If the
office has no update on the next project, I won't wait on them. I'll be
calling some of these prospects Friday or earlier. I'll leave the door
open for them of course.

Lon Milo DuQuette will be on Coast 2 Coast later this morning. While I have a luke warm interest in ceremonial magick and the occult these days, I still consider myself sympathetic to Thelema but in no way active. This "interest" is kept at arms length as a casual observer, mostly brought about through nostalgia. It's always interesting listening to Lon discuss Ceremonial magick, Crowley and the Tarot.
It's been somewhat of a annual tradition. Every Spring Canadian science fiction author Robert J. Sawyer would release a new novel and take it on tour across Canada and arrive every April to Audrey's books to do a reading from his recent novel. He is the only author I'd ever buy a hard cover book from. His last visit was April 2nd 2013 at Audrey's. I always get a autograph copy. His last novel was Red Planet Blues. That was 2 years ago. He announced recently on his blog that his upcoming 23rd novel will be Quantum night. Of course, I'll order a copy and I hope to get it autographed again.
Yesterday morning I called the x-ray to cancel. I called my pcn to confirm my next appointment on the 13th at 10:15am. I'll be calling ei after I wake up to find out when I can report again. I'm joining Anne on her 3pm commute riding partway in with her parting ways at Bay Station. I'll be heading into the office to pick up my whopping 4.5 hour cheque and to get an update (if any) for work for next week. If all I get is a non committal response, then I'll be looking for something part time. I need something steady. I'll be doing the job search thing at the employment agency Monday if there's nothing forth coming. After I pick up my cheque today, I'm off to get a bite to eat at the food court. Anyway, that's all for now.

Evelyn Paglini RIP March 31, 2014Dr. Evelyn Paglini, beloved long-time Coast to Coast AM guest, has passed away. She was a major player in the physic community. I wasn't much of a fan but I appreciate her contribution to the realm of mysticism.
Today I'm out the door 5-9 for my late afternoon commute but at least the weather is good so I can't complain. I like the shift but the money's no good, just get a grip on yourself.

is the JFK assassination. It being the 50th anniversary of the assassination weekend. I was 10 years old when that went down. I recall how, while I was at "Miller park" school just 11 years old when the Principle made the announcement. I didn't know who the President was. For me it was a chance to get off school early. When I got home my mom had it on television I remember how preoccupied she was. I remember "watching" bits of the funeral procession. I was just 11 years old, I didn't know anything. Hard to believe that was 50 years ago.
So some of the Greenpeace "activists" known as "The Arctic 30," have been released from detainment in Russia lately. "The 30" in case you missed it invaded a Russian artic oil rig jeopardizing the safety of its workers. The others "activists" are being held and about to meat their fate today. I hope Russian Law throws the book at them. Then yesterday there were 2 other Greenpeace activists scaling the Biosphere in Montreal. They face mischief charges for placing a banner saying "Free the arctic 30." It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't environmentalists that were behind the recent train derailments Alberta out to make a point.
Renowned psychic Sylvia Browne passed away yesterday at the age of 77. She was a regular guest on Coast. Anyway, that's all for now.

In the news is about the heat wave that's in Death Valley. Temperatures are 130F never mind the humidex.
I'm in for a full day today and after work I'm picking up a Horus Heresy novel and a audio cd. I'm watching to see what's going on with the NHL Phoenix Coyote's to see if the city council of Glendale is going to keep them, or cut their losses and my guess, to delay again. Friday is the NHL free agent day and Sunday the Eskimo's are playing but Anne want's to go out and see a movie. I'd rather wait until next weekend for that. That's basically my week ahead.
On Coast tonight the topic is about Magic & Ancient Egypt. Should be a good one. I like shows like this. Most likely they are going to make reference to Crowley. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Tonight on Coast the topic under way is Occult programing many cases of multiple personality disorder are the results of occult programming and many have been harmed. Their guest Russ Dizdar, might have a valid point. I had over 15 years of experience in the occult. Luckily for me I was not involve in it in a full time basis. Some people that have been in it longer then me, came out ok and level headed. Others didn't. A colleague in my local outlet about my age group was one of the most "go-it-together" people knew. Russel was a friendly fellow. he had survival training and was a Vietnam draft dodger. Still might be where ever he is. Back in the early 1980's we had a very prominent leader. I'll call him Mac. Mac and entourage were from California and was on a Canadian tour. He graced us with his presence with a slide show etc. He actually initiated me int the 1st degree. It really was a magical moment that night in 1982. I actually had Mac over at my place where the party was held. So getting back to Russel,he kind of took it personal that Mac allowed rival branch of the order to host Mac's tour. So much so that Russell was never seen or heard from again. The whole branch of the Edmonton order imploded upon itself.There was a lot if infighting and bruised ego's. By 1995 it was all over here in Edmonton. The order is still going strong in other parts of the world. I'm still in contact with some people from those days on Face book. In 1992 there was a story in our local papers about some guy that looked familiar. "Hey,I know this guy." Apparently he suspected that his common law girlfriend was seeing people from the rival group and he got paranoid because he found bus tickets in her pocket after work. After a heated argument he snapped and he punched her in the face a few times, took a crowbar to her, tied her up and tossed her into his pick up truck and said to her that he was going to the bushes out in the west end of the city and leave the body! Oh it gets better. He drove his truck along the Yellow head heading West.The Yellow head is a busy 4 lane highway. His wife got scared and stood and rolled herself out of the tuck and onto the road. Seriously. Someone in another vehicle on the road managed to help this frantic woman out and began taking her to the hospital. I guess Russel saw all of this unfold in her review mirror and as the vehicle got ahead of Russels truck Russel tried to ram it. Apparently he gave up on this and after this story broke 2 days later he turned himself in to Police. In his impact statement he said something like "They say I'm schizophrenia, I don't even know what that means." Knowing Russell,I highly doubt that. So what has the above anecdote got to do with Coast 2 Coast show's this morning? Was this schizophrenia of his incubating like an accident waiting to happen? Today most practitioners of the occult are isolated seekers of occult lore. That's where the danger lies. Sure some like Russell above, slip through but for the most part people getting into this stuff have no idea what they're getting into. I got in because this was organized. It had a unified code of ethics as stated within it's nomenclature. It was run in a professional and orderly way, which is why it has existed since the days of the Golden Dawn in the 1800's. People involved in the occult today do it for ego or financial gain, or something else. There is no accepted manifesto. Most people in the occult today are playing kids games. There's no discipline or structure. These "kids" dress in black trying to become "Satanists" or Aleister Crowley wannabees,without ever realizing that there's actual work to be done. Russell ended up getting 4 years in jail for beating his wife and other charges. I doubt he's even in the City any more.
Moving along here. On CTV local news the public got a good look at what the LRT tunnels look like be fore the tracks and other finishing touches look like. The City is on pace and on budget to have the Nait line open for business in April of next year. It's quite a departure for the City's LRT line because the extensions have always been going from South bound. Now the LRT is branching North for a change:

Other then that my only outing is going to be Saturday as I'm taking the LRT down to Corona station to get some brunch at Tim's and then walk a couple of blocks to Lodge and that's it.
There might be a new laptop in my immediate near future when I get my tax return. I'm looking at getting the Acer V5. I like the fact it has a 3 USB ports, 8Gig Ram, integrated mic and Windows 8. I'm considering the touch version but it's $200 more then without the touch version. I'd like to have a bigger hard drive but 500 GB is double what I already have. It's an i3 processor and at just under $600 its a significant upgrade. We'll see what happens in the Spring though.
Hollywood is really running out of ideas for movies. They have one out about the last Tsunami and now there's another one about the shooting of terrorist Ossama Bin Laden. It must be a slow year for movies. Thank God science fiction is carrying Hollywood again. I am though interested in seeing: G.I. Joe: Retaliation (March 29)looks good, Iron Man 3 (May 3) Star Trek Into Darkness (May 17 Cant wait.) Man of Steel (June 14 Superman) Thor: The Dark World (Nov. 8) There's 5 movies I want to see.I'm saving my Scene points (now at 2600) for Star Trek and Man of Steel. Anyway, that's about all for now.
