Not a bad day yesterday.

I didn't do much today. Mostly You Tube stuff. 

It was Glenn that told me (before I got to Chapter) he did the music off his phone. For some reason I had it in my head, "the only way this would work for me is with my iPad." Well, I only had the phone for 2 years now, and lugging the iPad with the keyboard is heavy. Plus the speaker. My phone recognizes the bluetooth speaker. A.U.M. (Audio Unit Mixer) is installed and even Audio Share. Both apps work hand in hand. The only snag is this iPhone needs a lightning adapter.

 It's not USB C. But Amazon has them availible. I'd rather carry my iPhone/speaker with me, rather then my heavy iPad pro. I'll bring my iPad Thursday, in case there is a snag some where. I need a lightning male and USB A female. so I can transfer files.

It took me long enough but the book that

I began reading August 13th, was finished yesterday afternoon. It took me almost 20 weeks to read "Space Vulture." At the moment, I can't see myself reading a trilogy. So I opted instead for Greg Bear's Darwin's radio instead of Larry Niven/Brenda Copper's "Building Harlequin's moon." It logs in at 5380 pages. I hope to finish reading it around Family day weekend.
                          
One of the children's toys trending this year is Hatchables. There's a You Tube video where it appears the toy is saying something naughty: "F--- me." In local news a family was concerned about this and Tweeted the company about this strange anomaly. The parent company that makes the Hatchables toys says they are aware of the video but the local parents did not get a response. When our local news got in contact with the company they replied that the toy is not saying anything inappropriate. Like they are going to make a toy that says that right out of the box, yeah right. But it is funny.

Anne and I are having a couple of lazy days, at home lately, still processing yesterday. Its nice having this time off and when I go on pension in September, I can see working 4 days/week and a long weekend every week. I'm on YouTube a lot watching documentaries and reading. We go to bed about 4am these days. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Summer is officially

over and it's been a short one arriving about mid May. Our summer usually runs mid April to the end of September but we still haven't had our "Indian Summer" yet. 

Friday the Esks won and there's a slim chance they could still make the play offs or cross over to the Eastern conference based on their points at the end of the regular season. Also last night the Oiler's were facing a Vancouver Canuck team that had most of their training camp roster. Their big stars were out of the line up. Still it was a nice 5-2 win for the Oiler's. 

Looks like I'm not going to be putting any serious music together except for instrumentals until I get a better computer that can actually handle the programs I have. A computer for music production. My little Acer laptop with 4 Ram keeps crashing. I bought it before I wanted to get into music production. I obviously need a desktop computer and I hope to get one mainly for music production, soon. I'm looking at a aTMX mother board with a quad core i5/7 processor, 32 Gb ram, 4Tb internal hard drive. I'm buying it locally and I'm getting my laptop hard drive cloned for the new PC. I'm hoping to get it before the end of the year or in early January, depending on what's going on with my Lodge.

Not much going on today. I've got a couple of Lodge calls to make and I'm watching Thursday's Impact wrestling and some football. Anyway, that's about all for now.

My wife had her outing

all day Sunday and I stayed at home. That was ok because she used her staff discount and ordered me a small meat lovers pizza that came with curly fries and chicken bites. So I had that around 5pm while watching "Looper:"

I really enjoyed this. I got to watch it for free, thanks Telus! On a scale from 1-10, I'd rate it an 8. I also kept watch over how the Oiler's were doing on their first game on the road in Vancouver. They ended up winning in a shoot out 3-2 giving the copper and blue their 1st W of the season. They entertain the SJ Sharks tonight for their home opener. I got 3 games on TV I can watch this week. They may be doing ok now but lets see how well they'll do at the end of March. I think with the group they have this year they will make the playoffs.

Thanks to my friend Dennis Hurd for pointing me in the direction of Google books. I signed up for a Google player and downloaded a Western by John Fox Jr. "A Cumberland Vendetta." I just started reading it yesterday morning. I just read the first chapter and it's building but engaging.

In the interest of being made aware of department, as most of you know the original 1960's bat mobile went up for auction over the weekend. The anonymous buyer paid $4.5 Million for it. More then likely he'll use it as an investment. "Want the original bat mobile for your show & shine or convention? Just $5,000/day. Your guests can actually sit in this piece of nostalgia for $100 photo op etc," It's a pretty good investment for that type of thing. Anyway, that's about all for now.

According a company called DSI they have plans to begin mining nearby asteroids in 2015. Their first attempt is to send a laptop size device then larger devices later on. The idea is to target small asteroids and work from there. They say that many of these asteroids not only have iron,nickel ore that sort of thing but also precious metals like gold and platinum. There is some speculation that these asteroids might even have water and oxygen. DSI invented the The technology, called MicroGravity Foundry. This printer is really cool

Well, I didn't win last weeks $16M lotto 6/49 but a man just North of us in St. Albert did. A lot of Albertan's have been winning the 6/49 over the years. That's good to see. Anyway, that's all for now.  


  

Usually on New Years

eve we're sitting about -25 something. At the moment were having a bit of a mild trend. Great way to begin the New Year.

What did I do all day Sunday? I woke up about 11am to take my insulin and went back to bed until about 1:40pm and I was still feeling groggy. Anne went out to do the shopping I read for a bit until I got sleepy and had a nap. She made our usual Sunday breakfast late brunch and went out for about 3 hours to do more shopping. I did some more reading and had another nap and did some more reading and Anne made us dinner. I puttered around with a FL Studio track I'm working on, and that's where I am now. So in other words to answer the opening paragraph question, not much. 

Anne's working tomorrow night and I have a beer and her discount and I'm having Pizza tonight for dinner as she's working and I'm holding down the fort celebrating New Years alone. Sigh, hard to believe this time last year I was our branch office employee of the year. But I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a lovely wife, who is somewhat patient understanding but even that has it's limits. I have a roof over my head (for now) and some options to work with, 2013 will be a great year. 

I don't like making New Years resolutions but I have some goals. First off get a job I hope I can keep. Pay off my Lodge dues. Pay off that LM bill asap. Get my dental work taken care of. Activate my CPP, get my SIN card, Read more books and short stories, I've been a subscriber of "Daily Science Fiction," for about a year now and I want to read more graphic novels and listen to more podcasts. I also want to attend more hockey games and see more movies. That's just a few of my overall goals for 2013.  

Since this will most likely be my last post for the year. I've had so far this year, over 240 posts. It's been a good year for this Blog. New Years eve should be a time to look back and take stock of what went right and or what went wrong. I don't think I have any regrets for 2012. Anyway, that's about all for now, Happy New Year everybody.
