I'm thinking about heading out

I called the vendor about my compression stockings. I asked if I could pick them up next week when the weather would be a bit more comfortable, instead of this +29°-+30°C, if I could pay for said stockings over the phone. I did, and I can come pick them up anytime. Excellent. Weather next week is forecast to be about +22-24°C.

Elks Win over the BC Lions last week, brought the Green & Gold to first place in the West for week 7. I don't know if the CFL keeps win loss stats for each week. Would be interesting to know.

I had a nice relaxing day. The only issue with the compression stocking vendor is they don't deliver. Anyway, that's all for now.

My plan is to get to the

Alberta register, Capilano Mall location and update the new Government ID. Its $54, which isn;t to bad. They close at 6pm. Also my compression stockings are ready for pickup at a nearby location. Also, I found a medical clinic nearby. I spoke with them earlier. One bus ride there and back. Good deal.

I checked to see if my Anbernic RG35XXSP came with a micro sd card, that contained the system. it did.

I forgot to do some research to see if the console took micro or mini HDMI so the games can output to the monitor. I have a Micro but not a mini. I'll need one of them as well, and I'll be placing that order today, and the BT earbuds. Should be about $60.

I'm going to need the ear pods so I can connect them to my iPhone. Reason so I can have some ambient music to aid in my sleep apnea. I think I have Central Sleep Apnea CSA due to my scoliosis. This less common type occurs when the brain fails to send the proper signals to the muscles that control breathing. In CSA, the airway is not physically blocked; rather, the body makes no effort to breathe for brief periods.

I haven't played around with my

Anbernic RG35XXSP console yet. I hope to sometime today. I'm not going to Install MuOS at the moment.

I think what I'm going to do this week is to get the updated Alberta ID at the registry over here by Capilano mall and then go to the clinic across the street on Terrace Road. I think I have a yeast infection. At least that's what Anne tells me. I'm hoping at the clinic I can get an OTC script for that, if its covered by Alberta seniors. I also need to ask about my sleep apnea and RLS.

I've been doing some initial research and I'd like to get into Bhakti yoga. I've been doing Pranayama (breath yoga) recently to help me focus. I think I'd like to get into Raja yoga. I had a friend (Richard) about 45 years doing Raja. We didn't have You Tube at the time. Anyway, that's all for now.

I enjoyed Smackdown

last night. As for the CFL Lion's/Elks game, it was quite the roller coaster ride. BC got off to a good start 7-3 but we pulled ahead and took the lead all night. Our D was the difference maker. Especially when in the last minute when the Lions had the ball 17-19. Lions needed a field goal to win 20-19. Our D had the Lions turnover on downs. Elks hadn't been 5-1 since before Jason Moss was coach. Elks are #1 in the West.

July 17, 1933, pilot Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan took off on a flight

from New York to California, but ended up flying overseas to Ireland, due to what he claimed was a navigational error.

If I'm up in time, I'm going to watch WWE "Main event" It's on at 6pm 11am Mountain time on Netflix & the WWE Youtube channel. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm making some learning

headway with MS Word. Still haven't figured out how to program tabs or indents yet.

I bought a Neewer teleprompter before we moved in here but it wasn't working for me. I know about online prompters that but they were subscription heavy dollar wise. The main appeal these online prompters have is they have an overlay feature. Just write the script, figure out font etc and read from the computer with the app/subject behind the transparrent script.

Great for making eye contact with the audiance. Part of my job for the last 10 years has been reading from a script. I was kind of up against the clock as well. Not so with these. Yesterday I discovered an open source teleprompter that has no watermark, not time or word count. Aparently. I hope to do a test run on this over the weekend. This post segment has nothing to do with Trump.

Busy day today,I have Smackdown on at 6pm, and the Elks at 7pm. I can pick up where I left off on Smackdown after dinner and the news. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne and I headed out of here about 3pm

It was a good trip to Clareview. The Evergreen bus was waiting at Clareview East to we took that up to Kal tire and walked the rest of the way to Dollarama. Anne got a few thing. I wanted some blank note paper. Anne ordered the steak Sammy. I ordered the Brigade burger. Allways good. After that we took the #104 to Pet Smart and into Costco. I hadn't been in Costco in a long time. Anne bought me a Costco Sundae for desert. I nished that and waited for her, and we went back to the Per Smart ETS bus stop.

Anne took this photo of me before the us arrived to Coliseum station and to Capilano mall. We got home about 8:45pm.

Anne decided she wanted Pizza 73 so we had the grand slam pizza, watched the news and called it a day.

My Miyoo mini handheld was an utter dissaster. I thought I was getting a handheld gamin console that could out put to the TV, through the USB C port. The port was for chaging only. I tried to get Onion OS installed and get a 3rd party program called Twilight which has that capability. I tried many times, following half a dozen guides, and just couldn't get anywhere with it. So, I did a bit of research and found an Abneric device. The RG35XXSP Flip Handheld Game Console has hdmi TV out and has thousands of games. I placed the $133 order. This will be the last handheld console, I will buy if it doesnt work. It's supposed to arrive on Saturday. Anyway, that's all for now.

I just came off

of watching an awesome new Howard Stern interveiw with keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. Recorded just the other day. Before that another intervieww days old of Mick Jagger.  I don't know who did that interview.

Yesterday I had one of those days that I did absolutely nothing. Anne made us a nice brunch and I watched some CFL football. It was one of those do nothing days.

Not much going on today. I have a few phone calls to make before wrestling: Ordering my Compression stockings, setting up a Doctors appointment for Thursday. Anne and I are going out for our monthly outing. Anyway, that's all for now.

I never made it to

BoB yesterday morning. Anne wanted to visit the Corona Tim Horton's downtown because its the easiest one for us. She takes the 5:30 Strathearn to Churchill connector and the Capital line to Corona stattion. She returned home later then usual. She said the storm the night before and over night yesterday took out the Capital line LRT and ETS decided to shut the line down for the weekend providing contingency buses. Not very user friendly. When Anne returned she gave me the run down. I decided to stay home, dropping Merril a note why I wont be attending. I'll get the next one 2 weeks from today.

The issue I'm having is lack of sleep. I have 2 sleeping disorders: Restless leg syndrom, and Apnea. Probably others. The only time I can get a good 5-7 hours is if I have a Melatonin pill or Nyquil. A glass of white wine also helps. Lets see what overnight brings.

It's been one of my Masonic ambitions to get my 32° and become a Grand lodge officer. I'll be getting my 32° in a couple of months. Another Masonic milestone will be my 25 year pin. That will be in March. The big one, is becoming a Grand Lodge officer. We have 2 Deputy District Grand Master candidates frim our lodge, putting their names in for DDGM. DDGM picks the officers for his year. I asked one of our DDGM candidates if he would consider me for a Grand Lodge officer appointment. If he's elected. That's in October. The banquet portion of my. I'm wondering if like the DDGM, I place my name on the ballot for a position. More on this later. Anyway, that's all for now.

Last nights storm

took out our power for about 15. Anne went to Corona Station Tim's and bought us breakfast. Me for Bob. When she returned she said that the storm took the Capital (main LRT line) offline and ETS had to deploy contingency buses. I took a video of the rain coming down outside my window. It's on my Facebook page.

I was going to go to Long & McQuade in Highlands (which is on my way home) because of the LRT Capital line not running, so much for that idea.

I was going to save my Tim's for my 5pm dinner as a bit of a snack and watch the Stamps/Al's game. The above is still the plan. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, July 10, 2026

We had an impressive

lightning/thunderstorm roll in here about 7:40pm. It was m assive. I aven't seen rain like that in a long time. Have we seen the worst of it yet? Probably not.

Scottish Rite in the Edmonton Valley at least comes in 3 sections: Lodge of perfection, Rose Croix, and Consistory. The first 2 were the same fee. I assumed the last one in October. The last one like all the rest are 3 days each. followed by a complementary breakfast. I wont do the breakfst in October because our Lodge jusrisdiction annual meeting is on the same day. The fees are paid for the Consistory. I over paid thinking they were all the same amount. I overpaid by $50. The lodge secratary suggested the office uses that for next years dues. Good idea.

In the morning before I head out of here for BoB at about 7:30am tomorrow am, Anne wants to go pick me up some Tims breakfast.

I might drop by Long & McQuade on my way home and get some new headphones because, the Bluetooth ones have a tendancy to make my wireless mic drop out in Fl. Sudio. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, July 9, 2026

I shut comments off here because I don't want

people giving me "advice." For example, 4 "people" bot's etc, I have no clue, visit this page every day. You could be Mary, Wade, Don, my sister, Master Greg or even fictional chracters..

Whoever you are, I'm on messenger. Drop me a line. Say hi. Sorry the above is stretched. You get the idea.

The Elks are in Ottawa tonight. Hopefully we can pull off a win after Saturday's loss. The Elk's had a target on their back in Kelowna from a 0-3 win loss record. The Lions one of the only remaining teams still not on the winning side of the ledger needed the W more then we did.

I've been following Russian/Ukrnian War since Putin invaded in February 2022. Did I her this right that Trump gave Kiev license to build patriot missles? This is a game changer. It's not like Ukraine will have these missiles immediatly, but if Trump is true to his word, then this changes the picture. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not a lot going on for today

except laptop maintenance at 10am this morning. In the email reminder, they always say, it's from 10-3pm but it's been my experience, that tech support usualy is in and out of my laptop by noon. I shut it down and go back to bed.

Yesterday I was researching the idea of upgrading my computer. Google told me all I need is an mATX mother board and appropiate CPU and uses DDR4 Ram. I recall buying 4 sicks 16Gb each and I paid about $300. Today that same Ram is about $1,600. Data farms are driving up the costof Ram. Ai and Bit coin I believe are the 2 main villains in the rising cost of tech. I have 64 Gb of Ram on my machine here. In my case because I like Intel, I'd need an LGA 1700 board. Most of these come with.

Not much going on this week either. I have the Elks Ottawa game going on, tomorrow, Friday night Smackdown. BoB Saturday. Lets see if Don will make an appearence. If talking smack behind his back draws him out the plan worked. Anyway, that's all for now I can't wait for when the valley line West comes on line so I can wander into Tuesday night Bible study and Peoples church. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, July 7, 2026

We're about to get some warmer weather this week

weather this week as of today actually. Suposed to be around +26°C. We got some tall leafy trees that shade us well here.

Today I'm pulling the trigger on the Akai MPC 27 keys g2. It's an expensive piece of gear. It's main screen can sync up from the software on the device and pair with the software on my computer. It can sample audio from my iPad as well.

I'll be at Momentum Saturday. Lets see if your going to be there Don. I've a feeling you wont, because your a coward. You done me dirty and you know it. I'm lauging because I'm inside your head diaper Don. lol. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, July 5, 2026

All 3 games of

heroes of might and magic, 3 of the Ultima games 1-3, were on sale for $31. I pulled the trigger. There were a few stop starts in the first HMM game. I'll get more into it today, since I don't have a lot going on.

Yesterday I watched the Elks play BC Lions in Kelowna BC of all places. Elks brought their 3-0 to Kelowna. Lions were 0-3. Lions lost to Calgary in Kelowna last weekend.
Plus they had a whole week to practice on a field We never played on. We we're handed our first loss 24-42. The Lions were desperate for a win. We play Ottawa, Thursday 7pm. Should be a good one.

Not much ia going on this week. I look forward to BabaLon's talk each morning. Tomorrow night is wrestling. I need to visit the clinic as I have some jock itch I'm dealling with, and i need a family Doctor anyway for AADL. Anyway, that's all for now.

Last night's past masters meeting

was really good. I didn't have anything to eat but the lava cake and a diet cola. We covered a lot of business, which obviously I cant get into here. Also, sticking with Masonry, I'm almost ready to resume the petition to Cryptic rite. They only meet 4 times a year and its an expansin of what I'm already into.

I'm in the middle of installing Uvi's Digital Synsations Vol. 2 and Kawai vintage Legacy. Cant wait to get into it. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on Akai MPC 37 g2. It's a 1 year annual subscription.

Tonight its Smackdown, and Saturday BC Lions/Commonwealth. Can we make it 4 in a row? I doubt it. The Fajardo/Rankin connection doesn't want to slow down. Anyway, that's all for now.

Depending on the source

but CTV weather, claims we have had 262mm of rain in June. This is a record set in 1914.

Not sure when Nathan is picking me up for our IPM dinner. At least 9 of us are going. Or said we're going to go. We're occupying an undisclosed room. Kind of like we did last year. But this is just for immediate past masters. That being me 😀

I have my eye at the MPC 37 keys G2. I'm about ready to pull the trigger and put it on my account. The software of the G2 is also on the desktop. So what I'm doing on the MPC, displays on the desktop, as I can record it using OBS. Slick. The price is about as much as my computer. It will be paid off in 1 year. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne & I don't nrmally

go out on our monthly outing on a Sunday. Mainly because ETS is slow. Anne wanted to try the downtown Denny's location. So we left about 5:30pm to the Stratherean LRT for city centre mall. Navaigating the homeless, Anne suggested we walk to Denny's since I had my walker. Sure. We just need to get to 104th Ave. She was getting frustrated and asked if we could order a cab. Sure. Because of LRT constraction, it cost us $10. No big deal.
Anne doesn't like going because it cuts in her time to connect with family at 8pm on a Sunday. I really like Denny's downtown. I had the 4 sausages, 2 eggs (medium) cubbed hashbrowns. Anne had something similar. It was closing in on 7:15pm. I called us a cab, which cost only $15 to our place. We made it just in time for Anne's Facetime call from her sister. Anyway, that's all for now.

Stll in recovery mode

from the stomach virus I had 2 days ago, early Wednesday morning. I'm about 80% recovered. Anne gave me some lemon relief tea, and that helped me go to sleep right away.

Anne wants to try that "Eleven eleven" resturaunt. I said during World Cup it's going to be like a hornets nest in there. Especially with Canada in the mix. After July 19th would be better.

I'm still torn from getting Omnisphere 3 or UVI Sonic Pass. I might just still stick with Omnisphere 3, and UVI next year. I can wait. I don't like paying $30/month. Almost as much as my cell phone plan. Not only that but I'd need an external hard drive to run UVI. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, June 25, 2026

I never did make

it out to Freemasons hall Tuesday night as my, psoriasis wasacting up. Even after a couple of days of applying some Doctor perscribed ointment my psoriasis was acting up on me.

my reagrets to the appropiate parties. Sigh. I really wanted to attend.

Not only that but I received a stomcah virus over night and puked once. This had a stanglehold on me until about 7pm, when I was dozing on the couch Anne had bought me an A&W "Smash Burger." I think that was the perp

Other then that, I got the Elks game going on today but Anne wants to go out for our monthy. I can keep track of the score on my iPhone while we're having dinner. Sounds like a plan.

Monday, June 22, 2026

What's happening this week...

Tonight is Monday Night Raw, I'm going to see about getting a ride to Freemason's Hall for tomorrow night as a friend of mine is going to be installed as Lodge Master, Wednesday Anne & I are going out for our monthly outing, Thursday is the Elks/Winnipeg. Looking forward to that one. Friday is Smackdown, Saturday morning I'm out at a mens bring your own breakfast event and after that is WWE's "Night of Champions."

I'm so tempted to get Omnisphere 3. It's a huge VST library. I can get it at Long & McQuade. I've been wanting to get it since it's initial relese.

I don't like the price, but I have the hard drive space and I can reactivate my Long & McQuade account again.

We're still getting rain as it's supposed to ease off later this morning. Looking forward to Josh's rainfall update. See how much rain we got this weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, June 21, 2026

During the last 72 hours, I think we

have had more rain volume then anything, I've ever seen here in this city. And this is more or less steady rain. Makes me homesick for the Lower mainland.

Speaking of weekend rain, yesterday at Commonwelth Stadium, the Elks (Canadian Football League) were hosting the Montreal Alouettes. The Al's have always been top in the East like the Riders here in the West.

Al's managed to tie the game @23 forcing OT. Elks needed a field goal to tie to keep the game going or a Touchdown. The rain at Commonweath affected both teams but Elks ended up with the W 32-29. Elks haven't had a record like this since 2019. This week is the rubber match where we're going to get a beating for sure.

I recently had to switch from LibreOffice to Apache OpenOffice because the fonts were glitching out on me. Honestly, neither quite matched Microsoft Works, which I used from 2005 to 2010 for my diary and short stories on an old Windows XP Compaq computer—I actually still have that hard drive but it'd not compatibe with my 2018 computer! Since Microsoft Word is the closest thing to Works today, it’s been on my radar for years. Since the only options now are a Microsoft 365 subscription or the Office 2024 one-time purchase, I decided to use $100 of my leftover allowance to buy the Office 2024 license. It felt like a necessary expense, and I’m really happy with the decision. Anyway, that’s all for now!.

Friday, June 19, 2026

Tonight its Friday

night Smackdown, tomorrow at 2pm its Montreal@ Elks. Elks home opener. Sunday is fathers day. Not that I get anything out of it. Tuesday is Patricia Lodge instalation as a friend of mine is getting installed in King Solomon's chair. My year in the Est was 2024. I'm thinking Wednesday would be a good day for Anne and I to go on our monthly outing. Thursday it's Winnipeg/Elks. Friday Smackdown, Saturday, night of Champions. Friday is also payday😀

Speaking of which, Akai has released the MPC 37 Gen 2. It's i white finish as below. The origonal one was in red. What's cool about this

new device is that it has double the Ram plus a usb c port to sample my iPad. It means I'm going to have to open my account at L&M. Anyway, that's all for now,

Thursday, June 18, 2026

The weather kept us

from going out. We wanted to go to "Stacks" but they close at 3pm. We would need to get out of here by 11:30am. I don't like rushing. Managment policy here has a monthly inspection of all seuites. They are mainly looking for pet oders that sort of thing, It's usually an in out type thing. Mostly the inspections are in the mornings. If that's the case, then Anne says we should go after that. I agree.

I went outside to get some air for awhile and my mail. The infill housing across the street is coming together nicely. Looks like its a 3 plex. Infill houseing is quite popular around here lately.

Other then the above not much else is going on. There's Smackdown tomorrow, Elks Home game Saturday. Life is good. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, June 16, 2026

What I like about Edmonton in

June is we get most of our rain in one month. Early in June, the lilac bushes bloom, and some trees leaves are red. The air is perfumed and the days are longer. As an added bonus, it's playoff hockey season.

From yesterday's Coast to Coast news letter: On this date in 1878, Eadweard Muybridge used a series of cameras set on trip wires to film a running horse. Legend has it that his goal was to win a bet over whether or not horses had all four feet up at some point during their gait. His ingenious solution to this wager is credited as being the birth of the motion picture industry.

I had Sampletank 4 Max v2 since March 2022. Four years ago. It's a massive music production package of instruments, & samples. I didn't have the hard drive space at the time, but I do now. I think I'd rather get UVI's Sonic pass instead. It's a subscription but it covers everything, UVI releases. I have the space for this. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, June 14, 2026

It took a bit of Googling

but I found  out how to install Roms in my RetroBat Windows 11 software. I just need to map the controller to the game console. Now if I can get indy games installed, excellent.

Tonight, I'll be following the Canes/Vegas game 6. If Carolina wins tonight, they win the Stanley Cup. If Vegas wins they force

a game 7. On one hand, I'd like to see Mitch Marner win the Cup. On the other tonight, ex Oiler Taylor Hall could win. In hockey news, Oilers have not hired a head coach for the 2026-27 season. The plot thickens.

Not much going on this week. I have that DTC place to call. I think Anne want's to go out for our monthly outing. The Elks play their home opener as Montreal is in towm Saturday. That's about all for now.

Saturday, June 13, 2026

The gang from

my lodge is in Red Deer for the Annual district Communication (ANCOM) and (I assume) other districts in the Province. I would have liked to attend if I was signle. It'd be something to save up for and it looks like a fun weekend. I think the Royal Arch version has already happened (Calgary?) This kind of syncs up with the 1980 Sherwood Park Medieval days weekend. Great memories.

While I'm not a Soccor fan the World Cup is being hosted by Canada. Games are scattered around the country. For that reasons the CFL BC Lions are in Saskatchewan bbut has nothing to do with  the World Cup in Vancouver

The Lions play this afternoon in Regina. I'll be watching a bit of it.  Maybe even passing out on the couch in the meantime.

Other then the above, not much going on today. This morning I was trying to figure out how to add games to RetroBat. I can't figure out how to do this. Was RetroBat installed properly? Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, June 12, 2026

Not much going on

around here. Even my Facebook page has been lacking in output lately. Other then last Thursday, Lodge was about the only interesging thing going on. Lately, it's been Elks football and hockey.

On this date in 1994, a popcorn container was filled with approximately 6,619 cubic feet of popped corn.

The box was over 39 feet long, 20 feet wide and 8 feet tall. Corny, but true. On June 11,

I'm going to call this Dissability Tax credit service. See what they can do for a 73 year old man with scoliosis, with a metal rod in his spine, and CVI. My family Doctor would not sign off on AISH for me but my brother Mike is on AISH for the same thing. I just had an exray in April, so if they need that, I can get that easy enough. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, June 8, 2026

My sleep patterns

have been more or less regular but I can only get 5-6 hours spread over the course of 2 episodes. I'm usually in bed by 5:30am and up by 9am, and tired again by 11:30, back to bed and up at about 2:30pm. This has been going on from the time we moved in here. RLS plays a main part in it, and maybe watching too much video the last 2 hours before bed. Not a good idea.

On my plate today is BabaLon's talk this morning before bed (the 2nd time) Monday night Raw, and I'll be following the Canes/Vegas game as well.

In all of that, I'll get my 3100 steps in. I still haven't heard back from AADL about funding for my walker. It's not like I'm scaming the Government due to a "wrist injury" and driving my adapted son to and from school everyday and going on cross province road trips in the summer. I'm describing somebody else obviously. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, June 6, 2026

My iPad battery

lasted from 5:30-10pm but my USB A-C cable did the job. Next time, I'll bring my power bank. I was wiped out by the time I got in at 11:30pm. It was a great evening.

I'm looking forward to the Elks/Red blacks game in Ottawa. It's a 5pm start. Our first real regular season game. Elks are 1/1 preseason.

It was expected but we got a fire alarm encore this morning. This time to test the elevators. The noise was worse then before. It lasted for about 20 minutes. We're done until this time next year Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, June 4, 2026

My window time line is tight

is tight this afternoon. At least after this evening, my summer begins. No AAFM. I'm keeping my summer gatherings down to a minimum. Just out with Anne once a month and Momentum end of June. In theory.

Today is International Hug Your Cat Day is celebrated annually on June 4 (though sometimes also observed on May 30).

It is a special holiday dedicated to celebrating the bond between humans and their feline friends by pampering them with extra cuddles, treats, and love. Buster (black) Skipy grey June 1st 2026

Smackdown (I think) is in Paris tomorrow night, so I can watch that anytime. This weekend should be easy going. I hope. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, June 3, 2026

I've got laptop maintenance as

IT is at it this morning, so I just need to power it up and let them log in remotely.

I finally got an update on my leg infection referral! Back in April, I asked the doctor for a referral to the South Side Primary Care Network (PCN). They called a few weeks later asking for a $100 visit fee, which didn't seem right to me so I held off. Then this afternoon, I got a voicemail from the Urgent Care clinic near Coliseum Station. The doctor actually arranged a referral for me at the Foot Institute instead. I'll need to look into that soon.

On the bright side, the fire alarm inspectors are finally done here. Yesterday was brutal—the testing is building-wide, so we had to hear every single suite's smoke detector go off. I was so exhausted by 1:00 PM that I went straight back to bed. It is finally going to be quiet around here! Anyway, that’s all for now.

Tuesday, June 2, 2026

The main story

of the day here was the fire alarm tester. Our visit was  about 1:30pm. The thing is, we and everybody else here's the same thing. So thisone guy has a pole, cups the alarm with this pole to set it off, and uses a spray of some kind that shuts it down. For each suite. And that's for both buildings. We have one more day of it. "Good news" is they finish at 3pm. Thank God!

We had another full rain day in the city. We had about a month's rain in 2 days. I like the rain, but I think that should be it for this week. Maybe.

Not only do I had yesterday early, but today more of the same and Tuesday its laptop morning maintenance. At least I can go back to bed. Thursday Lodge, Friday AARC. Then I'm off! I might want to go to "Ye Old Craft" next Saturday. It's a Saturday morning lodge. I can go get some Tim's before that, and file in. There's a Tim Hortons further East along 118th Ave. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, June 1, 2026

The highllight of yesterday

was watcing WWE "Clash in Italy." It was shorter then "Smackdown." It was a good crowd in Turin Italy.

Today was a rain day. Here in Strathern we received about 25mm of rain during the day,

which is considered a lot of rain for this part of the city. It was a slow day, but I needed this.

I've got 2 outings this week: Lodge and AASR Friday. Other then that, I'm just taking it easy. I've got a couple of projects I'm doing here at home.

Also, today & tomorrow, managment, will be testing suite fire alarms. One at a time. This building and the connector building. Anyway, that's all for now.

Unless I'm tripping

WWE's Clash in Italy live event starts at 2:00 PM Edmonton time, which works out perfectly for me.

Right now, we are enjoying a nice, rainy Sundae afternoon. I am thinking about heading over to the Mill Woods McDonald's for a strawberry sunday.
Ice cream machines at some McDonald's locations can be hit-or-miss, but if the Mill Woods machine is broken, Dairy Queen is conveniently right across the street. I can always watch the WWE event later.
Flash fiction has become a compelling interest of mine. Yesterday, I came across an interesting outline concept for writing in this genre, specifically for the 500-word category. For my purposes, that length translates into a long blog post 🤣Everything I have written up to this point is about 100 words. I have been reading quite a bit of flash fiction lately, and I find it to be a truly fascinating format. More on that later. Anyway, that's all for now.

Last night's

degree was really good. The music I had ready went as good as practice. I have another practice Sunday, so I hope that mirrors, last nights efforts.

Last year I watched some of the Elks games on CFL+ for free but seems that was removed. I was hoping I could pick up tonight's Elks/Stamps game in progress. Oh well.

At least I can watch Clash in Italy on Netflix Subday @ noon, get some brunch and see about getting a ride to Lodge. Then I just have Lodge and AASR next Friday, and that's a wrap until Summer.

Perry is picking me up

at about 6-6:15 tonight for Chapter. Hopefully I will have no snags with my iPad and BT speaker, and everything will run as smooth as Sunday.

The 'laziest man in history,' a wealthy English heir named Jeremiah Carlton, went to bed and stayed there for 70 years. He died on today's date in 1790 at age 89. On May 27, 1994, the highest temperature created by humans, a balmy 920,000,000 F degrees (30 times hotter than the center of the sun) was produced at the Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory.

I had fargoten about the R4 Nintendo ds cartriges. I might pick one up from Amazon. It's in my Amazon wish list. Lots of these cards have what's called "Time bombs" that have the games expired so the owner will have to buy another card. The decent R4 cards label "No Time Bomb. Add the Azahar pc emulator and, wow! Anyway, that's all for now.

I've been having

mild toothache pain over the last several days. After we do the Master Mason degree I'll be calling the detal office to set up a consultation. I'll bring the upper denture I was given back in 2021. It wasn't very successful for me and sat in a sollution reffill over the years. I think my mouth shrank as the last time I tried inserting the denture, it was a tough fit getting it into my mouth. I might need a new upper. If it makese sense and there's enough insurance money for one, I'd like to get an arcylic hard reline for both upper and lower denture. If I need to shell out of pocket, I can do that but the Alberta seniors benifit program which I'm on might cover it. There are others. But I hope to be setting up a consultation with them asap once all of my Masonic stuff is taken care of.

After our late dinner, Anne took me down to the work out room. They have treadmill and 2 stationary bikes.

I like the bike better. I did one k in disatance and that took me 6 minutes. Not to bad. Aparently, the bike helps fight off RLS.🤔

Last night I enjoyed the Ave's/Vegas game. Vegas scored first and then later late in the 3rd. It was 2-0 and then Denver scored but that was all they could do. Vegas defeated first place in the West Avalanch, and then swept them 4-0. Talk about embarrasing. Tonight it's game 4 Hurricanes/Montreal. Hopefully the Habs can tie the series. Anyway, that's all for now.

Our modem & cable set box is tied to the light switch

on the wall. I didn't know this but earlier when I got to the computer, our Internet/phone was down. There is a small button on the modem that lets us shut down the modem brelfy. The modem has to lights that both should be green. One was amber. I tried to rest themodem, 3 times. Nothing. When Anne woke up about 4pm, she laughed saying she hit the wrong switch on the wall. She reset our internet etc, in time for me to watch Wrestling and some of the hockey game. Habs lost Over Time. 3-2.

The math on Canada’s plan for 12 new submarines doesn't quite add up. South Korea's Hanwha Ocean is bidding with subs that need 50 crew members each. But Canada reportedly only has 200 submariners total—just enough to staff 4 ships,
without even factoring in crew rotations or base staffing. If we assume a deployment of 3 subs each for the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic theatres, the logistics look incredibly tight. Plus, each submarine comes with a hefty $2 billion price tag.

This week, I'm preparing the music for our upcoming Master Mason degree. I can't organize that until Friday because I have another degree coming up for Chapter Thursday. I'm going to be busy this upcoming week, with Chapter and Lodge music. Anyway, that's all for now.

My ride to

Chapter practice picked me up 12:30pm. I set my iPad up and music ready. There were 6 sections loaded and everyone on time and on cue. I even did the intrduction spot on. I was home by 3:15pm, and had a nap for about 2 hours. I watched most of the Vegas/Ave's game, and Denver is in trouble. 0-3 in the series.

I missed Lon Milo Duquette's "Sunday School" talk earlier. It was on Penticost and "prayer." Good talk though.

Today, I'll be confirming Rogers if my auto pay is done properly since I did it at home Also, I was having difficulty with my hdmi cable connecting to my tv. Not sure what's going on with that. Usually if it's the same type, one size fit's all, or so one would think. Also tonight is Game #3 Carolina/Montreal and Monday night Raw. Should be a good one. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne and I headed out to Bonnie

doon mall. I had Anne's walker with me. It's old andcrippled up, like me. It job. I need my own walker. Very handy for Lodge. Our first desitnation was the Tailor shop behind RBC. Anne had found a nifty bus pass holder pouch at Value Vilage, similar to the old one that I would wear over my neck. She had this plastic material item that would be good for a bus pass holder she wanted to have it sewn on.

It's a multi purpose hung over the neck fanny pack. I can hod my walet, cell phoe etc. The job was priced at $15. Not bad. After that to Dollarrama, as I couldn't find anything I needed. Then Shoppers (ear plugs) as it's seniors day. Then over to the food court for a tke out. Mexi fries supreme. Then Over to Rogers to see how I can add my new replacement Visa to their auto pay. Then the bus home, and Game 1 of the Habs/Canes game.

After the hockey game my Amazon order arrived: My Nintendo Switch 1 charging adapter. If your reading this Mary, I've had the Nintendo Switch since 2019. Remember the good times when we were both single adult's as neigbors on the same floor, you'd pay me visits and after that, we'd play video games? Good times. Don't tell Don what we did though before that🤫

At first I couldn't get the adaptor to charge the console. After dinner I realized I had it in the wrong slot. Yeesh. Anyway, that's all for now.

I received a notice

from Amazon that my Nintendo  Switch 1 charging adapter will be arriving sometime today. 😀This means that once it get's here, I'll be able to charge my device and then see if I can connect to the Internet. If not (as I suspect) it means it's my internet connection. I don't even think it's that alone, because Telus is sharing a default connection. If that's even possible.

On May 20, 1916, the small town of Codell, Kansas was struck by a tornado. But what was truly incredible was Codell was hit by a tornado on the same date in 1917, and yet again in 1918. Further, all three storms came  through around the same time-- in the early evening.

When Anne returned from getiing our burgers from Carls jr, she bought a box of Krispy kreme donuts. I didn't think the donuts were all that special. The burger was good though. I'll order that again. Anyway, that's all for now.
