I've got another day off

today as I need to go downtown to do some personal business and then to get a couple of beer for the weekend. I've got some other business to take care of at home its over the phone stuff.

Hard to believe it was 28 days ago today in 1987 that we here in Edmonton experienced Black Friday. It was a massive tornado that caused the deaths of 28 people. When it touched down about 3pm I was working downtown at the Army & Navy just where the Ultima highrise is being built. I was 34 years old at the time.  

One of my favorite YouTube channels is sillySUPERPOP It's all things WWE wrestling. Mostly action figures and he uses some colorful expletive language. Very entertaining comedy. Even if your not a wrestling fan, its hilarious stuff

There's so many but one of my favorite comic books has always been the Fantastic four. I'm very happy that Marvel Studios is releasing a reboot. I'm very happy that another 
 
movie is coming out. My favorite artists drawing the Fantastic Four. His attention to detail always amazed me. Every time I think of the Fantastic Four I think of George Perez. He has a Facebook page as well.                                                 

Other then that, tonight its Riders visiting Esks at Commonwealth. I'm looking forward to this one. Eventually the Riders have got to win one and I think our luck has run out. We don't fare to well when "Rider nation" comes to town but we're just as banged up as they are. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Having 3 days off goes by in a hurry

but I'll be glad to get back in the thick of things today. If Anne and I can keep the status quo going for the next 2 years and I get full pension, I'll work 3 days week. A lot can happen in 2 years.

This week I need to get to the lab and I'll probably do that Wednesday to get some blood work done. I'll also need to see if I can arrange a ride to Kelly's meeting at his place Sunday afternoon. Other then that not a lot is going on in my life. I'm not sure what my week is going to look like work wise. I'm in today from 4:30-8:30pm. Hopefully I'll get those  hours or 4-9:30 for the rest of the week.


We've been having a lot of smoke from fires in the region. This is nothing new this time of year but it does make news. It's been so smokey in Vancouver from news footage it like Beijing smog. The forecast over the next few days are calling for +28's and temps in the +30's over the next 5 days or so. There are a lot of forest fires causing bad air quality in Saskatchewan and up North of us. So its going to be a hot couple of days. Monday we got to a +2 and I felt it cold in here. We face a shaded parkway area and the morning Sun is gone by 10am this time of year. The temperature in the graphic above is perfect for sleeping over night. Wednesday night is when it gets uncomfortable. Most likely by the weekend were going to get  a sever Summer thunderstorm. Anyway, that's all for now.

The biggest name in the

NHL draft is about to be drafted by the Oiler's later today and I hope the Oiler's select Connor McDavid and not a #2 or #3 pick. That's the most important thing on my mind today.

The other item is confirming my ei and I've got to make sure I'm doing this properly. So far I've got work until the end of July. After that, I don't know, which is why I want my ei as back up. There might be something for August, but that's hard to say at the moment.

Today its into the job thing 4-9:30pm. I'd normally go to the bank but we're ok for that right now. We don't need to worry about that until Monday. I'll be doing the banking before work. 

We got up to +29 and that's hot weather for us. At the moment its raining very lightly, with a bit of thunder and lightning. Nothing sever is going on for us here in the Capital region weather wise. Anyway, that's all for now.
