I've got another day off

today as I need to go downtown to do some personal business and then to get a couple of beer for the weekend. I've got some other business to take care of at home its over the phone stuff.

Hard to believe it was 28 days ago today in 1987 that we here in Edmonton experienced Black Friday. It was a massive tornado that caused the deaths of 28 people. When it touched down about 3pm I was working downtown at the Army & Navy just where the Ultima highrise is being built. I was 34 years old at the time.

One of my favorite YouTube channels is sillySUPERPOP It's all things WWE wrestling. Mostly action figures and he uses some colorful expletive language. Very entertaining comedy. Even if your not a wrestling fan, its hilarious stuff

There's so many but one of my favorite comic books has always been the Fantastic four. I'm very happy that Marvel Studios is releasing a reboot. I'm very happy that another
 Fantastic Four 2015 poster.jpg
movie is coming out. My favorite artists drawing the Fantastic Four. His attention to detail always amazed me. Every time I think of the Fantastic Four I think of George Perez. He has a Facebook page as well.

Other then that, tonight its Riders visiting Esks at Commonwealth. I'm looking forward to this one. Eventually the Riders have got to win one and I think our luck has run out. We don't fare to well when "Rider nation" comes to town but we're just as banged up as they are. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Having all kinds of

"fun" trying to get a short Maschine audio clip to sync with Cam Studio. Making some progress with Cam studio though. I'm missing a few components to have audio sync with video.

This weekend is Heritage day long weekend here in Alberta. Every Province calls it something else but here in Edmonton its just called Heritage days held at Hawrelak park over the last 40 years. Anne and I went together a few years back but there were few places to sit down. Another 5 pavilions will be added this year. So with having what looks like another 5 more days off I'm getting spoiled I worked 1 day in the last 15. Add to all of that, there's a out of market CFL game on tonight and I'm considering a trip across the street to have a beer and watch some of it on the big screens. Friday is the Riders/Eskimos and that's going to be one I'm looking forward to. What I like about Heritage days from a community point of view is that this is one of the largest drives for the food bank, which keeps them going until winter.

With no work over the next 5 days, I hope I get something soon. This coming up pay cheque will only net me about $50. I'd be in real trouble if it wasn't for me ei. Anyway, that's all for now.

I have yet to hear from my job as to when

the next project is. I'll be calling the office for an update this afternoon. Most likely even though we have work for the summer its going to be something like 1 week on 1 week off type thing. I've got a few options I'm going to call in on. My job is more or less steady but because its project based is unpredictable in the summer. If I didn't have ei, I'd be in trouble.

Update: I decided to check into the office about 5pm and the boss said there's nothing happening for the rest of the week. Something is coming up for after the long weekend. I have a couple of options including a few job leads. One option I might have and I'll be calling tomorrow is to see if this career upgrading school still has its 3 month customer service course. I think one might begin in September. It helps extend my ei claim and improves my existing customer service skills. Also, when where I work has more projects, I might be able to work 2-3 days/week for pocket money. I'll be calling the school tomorrow.

I put another post out there in the "I grew up  in Coquitlam" site. Asking the group if anyone remembers a Mrs. Wilson. I gave a description an address and years. Some people remember her and one member said she knew my siblings and our

View image on Twitterfamily saying we lived around the corner from us on Hailey etc. She asked how Rick, Martha, Jeff etc were. Apparently though my Mrs. Wilson was Mrs Mitchell. The member corrected me from the description I gave her. She knew Jill and corrected me on the spelling of her last name. I got the name wrong but the description is bang on. The group member's madden name was Westover. She remembers when Hailey was a dirt road in1959. The Mrs. Mitchell thread is all but petered out but it was interesting and generated 35 replies. The Google map above shows the area I grew up from 1959-1971. The blue dot is about where our house (still standing) is. I got one more story to go in "Tales of Heresy" and I'm really enjoying this anthology. I've got 4 more anthologies in this series, "Legacies of betrayal" is the next book in the series, book 31. Also a Horus Heresy anthology. Great stuff. Anyway, that's all for now.

For the most part I accomplished

what I wanted to do Sunday, reading and answering email, YouTube, that kind of thing.

When Anne left to do her shopping I called Dave but the answering machine took over. I left a vm. No sooner had Anne returned the phone rang and it was Dave returning my call. He was happy to hear from me, like wise. Dave mentioned how he was at my fathers wake in 1996 at the Legion and tried looking for me but mom had told him I couldn't make it I filled in the gaps saying that I was on welfare at the time and resources were thin. Dave told me his father past away 2 years before mine. We briefly talked about people we knew some events and about what I'm doing now. About 10 minutes into the conversation, Anne thinking it was the Masons, she was tearing into me about brunch and I can call them back and on and on being terribly rude. I politely told Dave I'd call back Monday. He said he gets off work at 2pm. I had to explain to Anne that Dave was my best friend growing up in the 1960's etc. We lost touch with each other and we hadn't seen each other since 1991. She felt bad about that. He said he's off work at 2pm tomorrow and I'll call him then. I will.

I've got problems with my wifi and my laptop and I think its because the pw was changed. Anyway, that's all for now.

I hope I have another 2 days off but not much more

then that. Its nice having time off and all but it is summer. Anne's making me a nice rack of ribs for my dinner while watching Monday night Raw tomorrow.

Our JW picked me up at my place about noon yesterday and we needed a few things from the lodge before we got underway to the Shrine club. We had a small contingent at our annual lodge bbq. There was wedding reception underway next door. I helped our JW set things up played a few games of crib waiting for people to arrive. I think there was about 12-14. It was a small crowd. It rained right after the food was grilled. Perfect timing and

View image on Twitter down beside Dan standing packed up. After this photo was taken we watched a bit of the 3rd Q but figured it was all over from there so we cleaned, packed and locked up and got underway. I got a box of goodies left over and a ride home. I spent $5 for the beer and had a good time. After Anne leaves out for her usual Sunday shopping outing before brunch, while I have a moment to myself, I'm calling Dave to have a chat with him and see how he's doing. Play catchup type thing. Looking forward to that. Other then that its going to be relaxing Sunday today. Anyway, that's about all for now.
It rained for a solid 2 hours. I had a couple of burgers, and socialized over a Sleemans beer while watching the Esks smoke the Bombers 32-3 by the time the 3rd quarter was  almost over most of the folks left. That's me sitting

Over the past few days I've been busy

around here what with X-rays and blood tests. I thought fasting was no food but apparently it meant no drink as well, so they turned me away at the X-ray because I had a coffee from McDonald's in my hand. I got to go back next Tuesday, yeesh.

I grew up in Coquitlam is a very active face book group and very special to me. I've been on it for a few years now. I got a lot of information, first hand knowledge of events that relate to my past. It helped me with some closure etc. Also, my siblings and family that I haven't seen for years are on Face Book (FB) and its fun connecting with them. A lot of the activity on this group are people asking similar questions, "Does anyone remember so and so?" I posted a few names of people I grew up with and liked but life being what it is people lose touch over the years. Those posts went largely ignored because they were not stand alone posts but were embedded in replies. The other day I thought I'd post names on FB of old friends I grew up with in the 1960's and a few under its own post: "Does anyone remember so and so?" Dave and Bob were two of the names I had on that list. I was getting nibbles. One poster knew Bob and it was the same Bob by association of other events that confirmed this. I had his last name miss spelled which is why he never came up in a FB name search. I sent Bob a FB pm containing my email and as far as I know I got no nibbles back from him, yet. We weren't really that close. One poster knew Dave as her ex husband actually works with him. Unfortunately Dave is not on FB. After a few replies back and fourth she sent me a pm containing Dave's phone number. Before I left for work yesterday thanking her so much, I said I'd try the number on Sunday after Anne went out for shopping. I'd have time alone by myself to make phone calls. When I got back from work last night, the group member did me one better on my behalf she called Dave on that phone # (I haven't seen Dave since 1991 almost 25 years ago) Dave told her that it would be great hearing from me again. I replied back to her thanking her profusely. That's the power of social media.

Yesterday I got some ei cash from what I set up on Tuesday and my pay last night got me a decent amount towards bills etc. I was happy about that. Anne was to. So now I'm able to go to the bbq today feeling good. The only two snags this week was the x-ray and I got written up at work quite severely. The project is only for a few days but the supervisor said he'd be calling me Monday or Tuesday for the next project and said see you next week. I'll try and take a few pictures of the bbq and post them here. Anyway that's all for now.

Thursday, July 23, 2015

I'm up out of here at

about 7:45am to catch the 8:30 bus to Hermitage for my x-ray this morning. There's also an ultrasound in there as well. I don't care so much for all of that as I hope I'm out of there by 10 so I can get breakfast at MacDonald's on the same property before they stop serving breakfast.

Coast to Coast has a great show underway what with my favorite topics; Current Events/ Space, Aliens, & Secret Societies. Speaking of space and the story that broke yesterday how Nasa gave a $100,000 research prize to have a solar sail the size of Texas to launch a small payload to Alpha Centauri. A 1 way trip could be done in as little as 15 years. The idea is to propel the solar sail by laser. I doubt this will occur during my life time but its really cool. Nasa has been focusing on solar sail technology recently and has plans for a lunar and asteroid mission within the next 5 years.

What with hacking being a form of terrorism, auto hacking could be right up there. Any software system can be hacked so imagine if hackers got a hold of a auto software system and took control of vehicles still on the road in a major city? The results could be catastrophic. Hacking could not be just the geography of cars but even aircraft, oil tankers, anything. The Internet is a beautiful thing but is also a very dark place as well. The good news is that as frightening as these scenarios could be it forces software developers to be constantly on guard and try to develop systems that are 1 step a head of the those scumbags. Anyway, that's all for now.

About the only exciting thing I did Tuesday was

to go get my blood test. I've had 5 days off and I'm eager to get back to work as soon as the new project is underway. When I'm on full pension and if my health dictates, I'm going to try and work the last week of the month and the rest of the week go to lodge, if I want. That's if Anne and I are still in business. The next 2 years are going to be hard on us.

Not that I would ever do it and I can't speak for anyone else but I'm sure lots of people cheat on their significant other. I think this happens more with people when the marry young in life as opposed to people that marry late. I've often thought about it when my wife and I are fighting but I don't think I could actually go through with it. I've had opportunity. Ashley Madison is a popular website that is just for people that want to cheat. Not that such a website surprises me. Most likely its like "dating sites." Women sign up for free men pay type thing. I'd say 80% of the sites customers are men the rest women. "The impact team" is a hacker group that broke into the site and stole a lot of personal information and threatened to publish it if the Canadian website isn't shut down. They claimed that the site told its customers that for a $20 fee customer profile would be deleted but apparently there was no such option in the first place.

Some good news for me yesterday. Anne had a piece of  mail in her purse from Alberta Monitoring for health program has been extended until October 15 for those that don't qualify to get alternative health benefits. I'm going to ask more about this today and hopefully stock up on test strips while I can. I might even be able to get some insulin because I might not qualify for alternative plan benefits. Anne is leaving out of  here early for work. It will buy me some time. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne made us a nice left over roast beef

sandwich with fries n gravy for dinner and a homemade yogurt fruit medley, yum.

This is cool: Stephan Hawking and Russian entrepreneur Yuri Milner are to work together with SETI to fund $100 million to search for not just radio waves but optical laser transmissions from other star systems. Its called Breakthrough Listen. They akin to a piano with just 88 keys now using billions of keys. Its a 10 year project and the first observations will begin early next year. Its the largest search for alien life ever. This will all be open to the public. Here's a link out of the Scientific American.

The Edmonton Oiler's finally announced today the last great act for Rexall place will be to hang Glen Sather's name up to the rafters alongside with that of Wayne Gretzky, announcer Rod Phillips, Mark Messier, Grant Fhur among others. That will be 10 banners now. Its about time for Slats. The Oiler's will be doing this in September. I hope to see Connor McDavid's name up there some day.

Since Anne is home, today is my best chance to go to the lab and get a couple of bank statements for our health benefits claim for the provincial government. Then home to check my messages to see if my place of employment called about the next upcoming project. If I don't hear from them by Wednesday, Thursday I'm activating my ei. Anyway, that's all for now.

Other then the wife's blow up earlier I had a nice day yesterday mostly

View image on Twitter

doing some family tree history. I need to do some of my own history. Especially my school years and when I had my back operation for scoliosis. I'm not sure if it was in late 1967 or early 1968. One thing is for certain, August 21st I was 16 years old in 1968 in a body cast, bed ridden recovering during those 8 months. That August was the invasion of Czechoslovakia. I recall eating birthday pizza with a neighbor friend of mine. My school transcripts would be the best indicator of when I had my back operation as they would show missing time in relation to the event.

I still haven't given up on my Kobo eBook reader pictured above yet. Its the Aura version but the os is clunky and awkward to use. The battery life on this device is amazing and takes ePub books with ease on a micro sd memory card. I bought it last November because Black Library releases some Horus Heresy stuff only in ebook format, kind of like how not all Xbox games are sold retail. What I like about the eBook format unlike reading from my iPod is that eBooks are better for reading outdoors then the iPod.

I called Long and McQuade earlier and yes they are getting the System m1 modular synth. Street price is $750. With 20% down its $50/month, which is doable. The m1 also fits in a Eurorack setup and has a lot of compatible rack mounted devices to go along with it. I can see this as my birthday present for myself next month.

I'm going to try and get some blood work done at the lab this week while I have some time off. I'm kind of worried about my cholesterol. Since I have very little sodium intake, my cholesterol levels should be low. I hope to find that out this week sometime. According to my Doctor, I haven't had blood work done in over 5 years. I'm kind of nervous about what will show up now. The lab has limited hours today or so Anne tells me, so my best bet is Tuesday. Anyway, that's all for now.

I had a easy relaxing Saturday

and the best part about it was I got up at noon and I spent no money. Any day without spending money is a good day.

Yesterday was the first day of "Slide the City."

The 305-metre course runs down Grierson Hill, just above the river valley. Underneath the slide is a inch-thick piece of foam that cushions the ride.

The 305-metre course runs down Grierson Hill, just above the river valley. Underneath the slide is a inch-thick piece of foam that cushions the ride. More than 7,000 people bought tickets. The tickets ranged from $15-$55 for a day pass. Day two ends today. Not my bag. Photo above from the Edmonton Journal.

About time! Apple is releasing another iPod Touch device. It's supposed to be a lot fast and the camera is better as well. There is also a 128Gb version at $500. I can see getting the new version. I was never that impressed with the 5 megapixle camera of the 5th gen iPod. Now that the 6th Gen will have a 8 megapixle camera the upcoming iPod now makes it on par with the iPhone using the same architecture. I like the different colors as well and its nice to see that Apple is not giving up on the iPod Touch. I like Apple's new music service and at $10/month, it might be worth my while to subscribe to this, but we'll see.

Last night I had a great time watching the Winnipeg/Calgary CFL football game. The Bombers had that game as their last play with half a minute on the clock was a interception! its almost as if their QB had telegraphed the ball right into their hands.

Not much going on today. No meetings to go to, nothing going on other then WWE's "Battleground." Anne was trying to get me interested in attending the "Summer slam" tour here in Edmonton this September but it's not televised and its not the same thing.meanwhile I'm enjoying my time off work but if I don't hear anything by Tuesday I'll be calling the office to see what's going on. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Saturday, July 18, 2015

I've used iMovie on my iPod Touch a couple of times but I didn't know

it processes video as well taken from the iPod Touch's camera. I find this very cool. iMovie can also take the audio and sync it right within the application. I even posted a short video and posted a bass line off from my computer. iMovie has 3 modes: Video, Projects and Theatre. I haven't figured out how to use custom video as a trailer template yet though.

I was watching the Esks/Ottawa cfl game last night and most of the game was played in the teaming rain. It was a low scoring game up until the start of the 3rd quarter. Lots of intercepts and turnovers on both sides. Esks won 23-12. Matt Nichols almost got injured! That's all we need.

Admittedly yes I've played "Warcraft" but I never got into the game when it first came out for more then a week or so. I have some of the books as well here on my shelf. "Wizards & Warriors" was my first computer game and the first game I played on the computer. This would have been November 1987. In the 1990's I had a Sega Genesis and played Phantasy Star and I also had a Super Ntendo s well and played a lot of Mario. I even had a go at "Everquest" for a bit and "Finale Fantasy,""Elder Scrolls" and "Zelda" on the Xbox 360 but got burnt out playing these games and our Xbox 360 wouldn't work for us after only a year of owning it. They did something to their market place and shut us out from using the system. So now when I learned on i09 of a Warcraft movie almost completed for June 2016, my Spider senses spiked. Now, I don't know if I'll go out of my way and see Warcraft in the theatre but sure, I might order it via video on demand. I'm sure there's going to be a soundtrack and more books and even a Lego tie in. I'm not big on gaming these days after that incident with my Xbox 360 in 2008. My iPod Touch is just made for gaming but these games are kind of lame. I've got other things to do besides gaming even though I almost bought a Nintendo Dx last year. However I could see myself getting into playing Warcraft and games like Call of Duty. A nice balance of music and gaming is somewhat appealing. I'm not sure if I want to spend $400 on a Xbox only to find their games not backwards compatible with previous consoles like the Play Station 4 >3. If I ever decide to buy it would be a Xbox One.

Tonight's 6/49 draw is a nice $38M. Wow. The office didn't play because nobody other then the boss was at work, yesterday as far as I know. We didn't have the office pool going. Still for $38M, that's pretty good.

After Anne heads out for work, I'm off to Red Robin across the street for a burger and a beer. I'm going to lobby for for some "cheese doodles" to munch on for WWE's "Battleground" on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to this pay per view. A nice brunch and a good time. Anyway, that's all for now.

It's our exhibition time

K Days logo.pnghere in Edmonton. It used to be called Klondike days, or just K days. A few years ago the city of Edmonton (coe) re branded K days calling it "Capital Ex

for exhibition. I didn't mind Capital Ex as in Edmonton's exhibition. K -days is even worse because it doesn't signify anything. The K in K day's looks like it belongs on a breakfast cereal box. The K day's parade is on at 10am this morning. I hope to be fast asleep.

Earlier I was looking at bluetooth speakers for my jams but they aren't necessary. I like the Bose mini bluetooth because it has a better sound. At 50 watts, that's pretty good. I can pick up a headphone jack splitter and I'm ready to go. I'm considering the Korg Volca sampler, Beats and the Monotron hand held synth on a account. What I'd really like to get is Roland's System 1m modular synth:.
Image result for roland system 1m

Not much on my plate for today other then making a phone call and watching the Esks/Red blacks game. We're getting some badly needed overnight rain, which is nice. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I'm off work today until further notice

View image on Twitter
which basically means call in to
find out when the next project is ready. I heard next week. When, is why I need to call in but I don't want to activate my ei in case I find out I'm in on Wednesday. I was going to call in like everyone else today but that's just going to po the boss getting 20 calls all in one afternoon. I can hold out until after the weekend.

Last night Anne didn't want to cook so she ordered pizza from a new place she visited while taking Skippy to the vet. It's called "Busters" She was raving about it over the last few days and thought it might be a good idea to have this while we're watching "Battleground" this Sunday. She couldn't wait and went to the phone and ordered for us. Two 10" pizza's for $25. I paid the extra $5 and when the pizza came, I was surprised. It was really good. It's probably on par with sit down pizza. We like Maximus up the road here and its a better deal for $20 for 2.

My wife is leaving out of here for work at about 3pm. I'm home holding down the fort. It promises to be a nice easy
Thursday night and I'm going to watch some of the Hamilton/Al's CFL game on TV and a bit of TNA impact wrestling if the game is slow.
 View image on Twitter
I'm actually looking forward to watching the rubber match between Esks and Red blacks tomorrow night. If the boss calls me in for Saturday, I'd be more then happy to go in and put the full day in. That'd be good. However, I'd take whatever I can get and I wont be as pushy about it the last time with the last company. What a slomosal that was in February. Now I've got a bit of time off and when I get the green light to go, great.
Over the last few days on the Black Library app, they've been releasing a free Horus Heresy short story. Every day 1 part out of 4 per/day. I've been tying to find a way how to get the story off the app to read offline, where I can read it at a future date. I tried a couple of free iPhone pdf apps but you get what you pay for, right? I can always go back to get the story from the Black Library app later of course. So far I'm really getting into this "Tales of Heresy" collection of short stories. I'm looking forward to "Legacies of Betrayal" paperback coming out I think in September.

Finally, we're into more comfortable summer weather. Even right now it's a little on the cooler side at 13 and overcast. We had a nice brief thunder and lightning storm earlier this morning just after midnight but I can live with this. I like this and no higher then 22 or 24 during the summer. Some outlying areas of the city are experiencing drought conditions because its been so hot and dry around here. Anyway, that's about all for now
.

Looks like things at work might be winding

down for a bit. I might be off as early as Monday or as late as the 27th, hard to say at this point. At least I have a back up so that's good. I actually wouldn't mind taking a week off. I can get some business done.

This is what Edmonton will look like within 5years from now.The building to the left is the 50 story Delta hotel.

The downtown arena district will be now known as the Ice District.

The other building is the Edmonton office tower and the one closer to the right of the illustration is the Stantec tower coming in at 62 floors. Close to the Edmonton Arena district is Fox tower 1 (already built) Fox 2 under construction, and Ultima tow er also under construction. And of course the downtown arena already under development..

The big news lately is space news. After nearly a 3-billion mile journey that spanned nearly 10 years, the New Horizons spacecraft "phoned home" to indicate it had reached its flyby destination of Pluto, a mere 7,700 miles away. Detailed images will be sent back in the hours to come including Pluto's 5 moons. What's even as interesting is that the probe can send data back to earth at that distance.

The new project isn't quite firmed up yet but I'm hoping I can start without much time off. I've got gear I want to get. I've got cash for myself to for my time off, so I can't complain and this weekend we've got wwe battleground. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Monday morning Anne took our cat Skippy to get fixed up

and to get her needles. So at least that's taken care of. Now we just got to watch her stop licking her sutures in case she gets a infection.

Our lodge planning meeting Sunday went well. I got out of going to Fort Edmonton park next Thursday. Somebody covered for me. Also, I got out of the IPM chair and I took the Junior Steward chair for next year. We hadn't had any stewards in a long time. If we needed any, we'd just delegate them. Also, I got my apron and case back, so that was a very productive way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Work is going fine. We might have the new project sometime next week. I might have a few days off work though until then. I'll need to activate my ei though and I'll be doing that when I get up out of bed in the morning. Anyway, that's all for now.

This heat has been taxing my

patience as of late causing friction in the family. I just need to find calm and be steady. Right now I've got a nice cool breeze coming in through my window, which almost gives the impression of a fan.

Lets see, so far for movies this summer, there's been a Mad Max reboot, a Mission Impossible, Avengers, Terminator and now a new Ant Man movie. The only one that has any appeal for me is the Mission Impossible movie and I might go see it in the fall at the dollar theatre. I heard that the next Star Wars movie "Rogue one" would be December 16th 2016. That's 8 months away from their historical original May openings. Initially I was concerned because Disney was involved that this new trilogy would be a dumb down version for kids. Disney does not just do kid movies anymore. They did "Tron," "The Game plan," "Pirates of the Caribbean" and others. From the Star Wars trailer released in April, this new movie, looks to be a little on the "darker side" from what I've seen of the trailer. I'm not going to go out of my way to see this Star Wars movie, but I want to see it in the theatre for sure. I hadn't heard anything Star Trek yet. Apparently James Bond Spectre will also be out next year as well. Anne and I see about 1 movie/year on the big screen.

Since Anne and I were fighting a bit last night over that ei cheque that was supposed to come in but didn't, I never had a chance to get at that Heineken in the fridge. I'll have it Saturday night. If its still there. I tried calling ei just now but I my wait time was 45 minutes. Our cordless phone would have timed out by then. I was going to do this earlier but I didn't sleep well over night.

I called one of my lodge colleagues a few minutes ago to arrange a pick up ride at Southgate this Sunday. We're holding a planning meeting near Stony Plain at 12:30pm at the Lodge masters residence. Its a good way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon. I'm off work at 8:30 tonight and it kind of reminds me the old Xentel always off at 8:30 Friday nights. I'll do my banking after work and come home. I hope to get a full 7.5 hours for tomorrow since I missed last Saturday. Anyway, that's all for now.

When I was out there reading my book

Wednesday afternoon underneath that nice red tree as seen below

(my usual spot) I read my Warhammer 40K book "Tales of Heresy." I'm just over the halfway part. I had an enjoyable time just reading occasionally glancing up to watch the girls go by in the +29* hot afternoon Sun. Actually it was mostly overcast and even the breeze was warm air. Inside it was a lot better.

As I was about to cross the marked crosswalk this time where the incident happened yesterday with the cop car the car had to jump the meridian to get into the lane cutting me off to get in front of the cars waiting at a red light. The cop car was about where the car is in the other lane is facing East. There's no way that the cop car could have seen whether or not the light was any color. His only indication that there was any light at all was that traffic in the East bound lane had come to a stop. So the cops reckless driving almost got me killed Tuesday night. I was where the blue dot was. By the time the cop was where the end of the arrow was the traffic was still at a stand still.

So there was no way that the car could have stopped in time as it was committed to go. No what if there was a bunch of  us in that cross walk. It's been  known to happen. Also, last night I had pressed the light and I was barely across the street over the meridian when the light changed.

Today is the day Greece has to provide a debt proposal in order for them to stay in the Euro. We're feeling that country's economic woe's even over here. In Athens It's sobering stuff as shops are all boarded up. People can't buy day-to-day necessities. We're seeing what happens when a country goes bankrupt. Yet they said "no" to austerity on Sunday. They have a chance to save themselves today from their creditors. We'll see what happens.

Finally after having a bi-week, the Eskimo's play their first CFL home opener game tonight at Commonwealth The home opener should have been week 1 but because of FIFA the Esks had to play up there in Fort McMurray. I miss having the games on the weekends when CBC was hosting them.

We have another hot one today as we're sitting at +29* at noon! Yikes, now that's hot. Its going to get even warmer by the time I leave out of here. Good news for me today is not only do I get off work a bit early but I have nice cold Heineken beer in the fridge waiting for me and a cold shower. Its expected to get up to 32 today Anyway that's all for now.
