I didn't get out to get my

compression stockings today. They want to do fittings, which include measurements. I don't have a problem with this. I was told on my last visit, I don't need to go in for fittings while I'm in the middle of a pickup cycle. The last time I was there in February this is what I was told. Now they are telling me something different. I had to wait for over an hour before somebody came in and I'm not even sure that was the person that does the ADL fittings. What bugs me is I have to get up early in the morning to go in when I'm half awake. They have a brief window of time for this as well. I'll go grab a bite to eat when I'm done. Hopefully, I can do this tomorrow. Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday's Bombers

Elks game (which I caught in the dying seconds of the 2nd quarter on CFL +) at Commonwealth was entertaining. Elks tied the game @ 17-17 early in the 4th Q but Winnipeg was just too much for the Elks. Edmonton played well for a preseason game. With 4 seconds on the clock, our kicker was 52 yards outside of field goal range and kicked the ball to a stumbling bounce. Winnipeg scooped up the ball and ran a few yards before the clock ran out. 25-23. Great day for football. Our first regular season home game is on June 11 almost 2 weeks away. Delightful game though. Anyway, that's all for now.

Starting next month

the Northgate seniors association will be closed for one year for reno's. They've been wanting to do this for a while now. I've never had much interest in NESA before, because I've been working, even as a senior I've been working. Now I'd like to join NESA and get into some clubs. I can see going out several times a week, even in winter. It's just a bus ride to Londonderry Mall and the #128 bus to NESA's front door on Saint Michale's. property. 

Speaking of work looks like another project is about to begin next week. I have no details. Privacy prevents me from mentioning anything about work beyond the above. I hope it's a couple of full-pay cheques at least. I have a few bills to pay, and I want to get some lighting for my studio I'm looking at getting a lantern soft box and a video light. 

Yesterday was just a me day. No incoming calls etc. Speaking of calls though and chat I'm back on Skype, for people I know. I'm not permanently logged in. In case your reading this 😎 Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday morning before bed

Anne noticed our under-the-sink kitchen pipes had leaked. I was to go to the rental office first thing in the morning to get a work order for the plumber. "Emergency." I got a call at about 1:45pm saying the plumber's ETA was about 10 minutes. The guy showed up (Anne was sleeping) and took out his flashlight checked under the affected area. No leek that he could tell. He ran the water. Can't fix what isn't broken. I told this to Anne when she got up and she went ballistic. It's a slow leek. She got the guy over here and after moving some of her cleaning products she found a bottle of air freshener had leaked spilling its contents all over the place. Yeesh.

Yesterday I took out a subscription to Logic Pro. for the iPad. It comes with ~ 15 GB of content, which I haven't downloaded yet. I had to offload some apps to make room for this. I need to watch a few more videos. It comes with video lessons.

After all of that, Anne and I wanted to go out and vote in the Advance polls at the Clareview rec centre. After we'd go to Boston Pizza. We took the walker out for me as Anne went to feed the birds. She wanted me to meet her at the Walmart parking lot bus stop on 40th Street. Alright. I had a 10-minute wait for her and she complained it was too hot for her and she couldn't make the trek to the Clareview rec centre. We aborted that idea and decided to go to BP's They really watered down their menu. They have 1 style of burger and a plant-based burger. $20 for a burger & fries? Uggh. So I took the walker and Anne went to Superstore as I walked around by Sifton School and back along 50th Street. I noticed a traffic accident on the 137th/50th intersection. And here was Anne pushing her Superstore cart into the Wyndham Crossing parking lot We watched what was going on with the accident for a bit, then helped her with her stuff to inside the apartment. She couldn't get any pop because all of the cheap stuff was sold out. She got us a 12-pack box of canned diet Coke, which should last me a few days. Also, I ended 7,521 steps on the day. Not quite the record for a single day as last week but close enough. Anyway, that's all for now. 

Sometime this afternoon we are

heading to Clareview Rec centre for advance polls. After that over to BP's.

My camera cage order was delivered just before noon yesterday. Works as advertised. I just need some better lighting. I'm looking at getting the Neewer twin pack 660 pro 2 video lights with C stands. It's priced at $365. Not bad.

Yesterday's pre-season Elks/Stampeders CFL game wasn't on TV. They had a half-hour delay of the game due to the AQI. Stamps won 29-24 bombers are in town Saturday. Anyway, that's all for now.

The smoke is still pretty heavy

out there. I'm not sure if there were a lot of folks outside yesterday. A bit disappointing for the organizers at Fort Edmonton Park as today was opening day. 

Speaking of which I haven't heard anything about lodge volunteer positions at the Fort Edmonton Park Museum. I've been going out for years pairing up with a lodge brother. One of the guys from Commercial Lodge last year was there every day unknown to us. Next Thursday is our last Lodge meeting before we shut it down for the summer. We might get an announcement then but why bother if Jordan is going to be there every day. Kind of takes the wind out of our sales. 

Speaking of lodge stuff, my Amazon order should be arriving today. I should be getting my Anker BT speaker. I bought it mainly for the lodge as Kelly asked me if I could do sound for lodge meetings. I did earlier this month. Dan was very happy with my "performance." Although I can't play the organ I can at least provide lodge with music. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne didn't put up much of a fight

when I told her I bought 3 items from Amazon I bought a lens filter ($18) for my Sony camera. Also in that order was a Camera cage as well to protect the camera. The cage has 1/4" holes in it and a cold shoe. The cage will allow me to mount the camera to my Sony tripod in a vertical position to help prevent rolling shutter.  Apparently. Also in that order, I bought a blue tooth speaker for my iPad. The whole order cost me $135. It will be here on tomorrrow. 

It's been a very smoking week, other than Wednesday. Yesterday forest fire smoke got so thick a drone shot almost blanketed the image. AQI was @ 11 today. More of this over the next few days. Not a nice Victoria day long weekend.

Anne ordered us Royal Pizza for diner which was real nice. I've got a video I want to upload for today Going to try a picture in a picture. See how that turns out. Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday Anne and I went

across the street to Cork & Barley (formally Bo Didlies). I had the bacon cheeseburger, otherwise known as their Brigade burger. I hadn't realized that Wednesday was their Wings night. They were swamped by the time we were finishing up. My meal was overpriced for what it was worth. Eating out is expensive these days.

I'm expecting an Amazon order today. I bought this computer tower caddy on rollers. I've been wanting to have my tower off my desk for a long time. I want to have a ring light in that space for my Sony ZV e10 camera. Along with the order are 2 6' USB C to USB 3 cables.. 1 cable goes from the tower to the Sony, and the other goes to my headphones.

Our outing wasn't very nice. Anne wanted to go to Costco after dinner and I walked with her to the bus stop out by our place to rest my back. & legs. It was breezy but my Elks hat remained on my head. I walked around to the new bus shelter on 134th Ave & 50th Street. It was a beautiful Spring early evening. My path continued to the rental office entrance and home. At the end of the day, I did over 7,100 steps. Anyway, that's all for now.

There were several factors that

accounted for the Oiler's loss Sunday night: First our goal tender fumbled the puck and turned it over causing Vegas to score. McDavid scored, then Fogel scored. That was it for the Oilers. Then in the 2nd Jonathan Marchessault scored 3 goals. 4-2 Vegas. The Oilers pulled their goaltender and Vegas scored into an open net making it 5-2 Vegas. That's enough hockey for now. CFL football begins next weekend's preseason game. Elks in Calgary. Not much else is going on. That's all for now.

This morning I was at

my bi-weekly spiritual men's breakfast meeting. I had to cut it short when we concluded everything so I could meet with Telus to get our phone fixed. I was barely at the door to my suite when he arrived an hour earlier. 

So it took the tech guy to check on the cable box outside and to do a system check on everything and everything works out fine. He was supposed to be here between 1-3 but he had everything up and running by 11am. Sweet.

This week: Tomorrow if the Oilers don't win, they are done. I suspect this will be the case. So I have that to watch. Also, I hope to have another video for next Saturday. Anne and I are going out for Mother's Day on Tuesday. She wants to try iHop. Hopefully, there will be a game 7 Tuesday. I want to make an appointment with our local PCN over here on Fort Road. They have a foot nurse I need to see again. Other than that, nothing else going on. ANyway, that's all for now.  

Now we're having trouble with

our landline phone. We checked all the connections but our call display still reads "Line in use." We can't make outgoing calls nor can we receive any. Anne has her work phone from her computer which we can use in cases like this. We were supposed to have a service call today between 1-3 and the tech guy never made the appointment. Anne's setting something up on her work phone. Yeesh. Anyway, that's all for now.  

The tech guy called

at 1pm and he worked on my laptop. I thought he had things to install but he had to uninstall something using Real VNC Connect. That took about half an hour for the guy to do his thing. 

After the above, Anne and I went down to the rental office at ~ 2:15 this afternoon and one of the office gals got a hard copy of our rental agreement. She highlighted where to sign. They even had donuts and coffee for visitors etc. So we got our rental agreement finalized. They have a copy to file, and we have our copy. Plus we received the tags for our cats from the City of Edmonton. After that and when we got home, Anne did a bottle run and was in Londonderry Mall to get us some Taco time.

Tomorrow night it's Vegas/Oilers game 4. Hopefully, the Oilers can play better than last night. If they can tie the series, it will go 7 games. Oilers in 7. Anyway, that's all for now.

In watching Jay's 2 cents

on cloning a nvme m.2 ssd, I discovered I need to clone over the system partition to the target disk I had to buy a license from the AOMIE vendor. It was only $60. I took a chance. I had a bit of trouble getting the license key but chat tech support was very helpful, and supplied me a license to my email. I activated the software that lets me cone the system partition. I cloned the partition before dinner and after dinner, I was motivated enough to go in and out with the old nvme drive, and in with the new. I had to go into the Bios and changed the boot order of the drive. after that, it booted fine and success. This will keep me going for about 3-4 years if I'm alive by then. Very happy. Not so much with the product because it's advertised as 4Tb when I get half that. I know why but that's ok.

Today I need to be ready for tech support about my work laptop. Hopefully, that won't be too bad. I'll have my ethernet cable in there before we get underway. Also, I hope I won't need to "babysit the guy." 

If that frees me up, Anne and I can get to the rental office and ask them to guide us through the rental agreement and how to sign our names on the form. Once we get that sorted out I can breath a sigh of relief. Anyway, that's all for now.

About once a month or so

I'll have a sleeping pill like I did this morning before bed. These are in gell form about the size of a baby fingernail. When I take one of those, it knocks me out for about 7 hours.  

It's pretty breezy out there, with the wind blowing out of the South East at 29kmh. Our temperature is +18* celsius. The early part of this week will be in the low to mid +20's but in the latter half, we're looking at +28*- +31*. I like it between +18* 

Game #2 is this afternoon at 5pm. Oilers/VGK. Oilers are down by 1 but I feel the boys will pick it up tonight and tie the series. Otherwise, not much else is going on. One can only do so much of anything before boredom sets in. However, I got enough on my plate as it is. Anyway, that's all for now.

I have an hour or so

of work tech time on my laptop at 1pm. Plus Anne wants me to watch out for her Amazon order today and if that's not enough, Anne has Teleus coming over between 3-5. All before the Oiler's Vegas game tonight. Yeesh.

I'm closing in on getting this NVME M.2 drive business sorted out. After today's business, I have lodge tomorrow night and maybe some duty there. I was asked if through my iPad I can provide Lodge with some music. I'd be filling in for our organist. If he's not there.

Plus if that's not enough we have our lease agreement forms to fill out online. I'm not exactly sure what's going on here with them but Anne wants to drag me into the rental office Friday so we can sort this stuff out. Punctuated in between all of this I might be able to catch tonight's Oilers game and Saturdays. Yeesh, it never stops. Anyway, that's all for now.

Firday I went out

 to Memory Express to get my Ram and Anne her headset. Also some lunch at Harvey's. Saturday I had my breakfast gathering and watched the Oilers take out LA Kings. Sunday I installed the Ram and tried to install the M.2 drive but for some reason, it wouldn't work. I think I had something to do with its position in Bios. I'll try this again this week.

We intended to go to the rental office today to get our lease taken care of. But first, we picked up our mail and there was our ETS city bus passes😀 At least our transportation is set up for the year. We were just about headed to the office when Anne noticed the closed sign on the door. What? So, we'll try again Friday before she goes to work

My job wants to install a few related apps this week, and the techs want to walk me through on how to use them. Probably something similar to what Anne had to go through in her job last week. 

Not much going on this. Wednesday Oilers are in Vegas for round 2 game #1. Thursday I have lodge and Friday game #2 Oilers/Vegas. I just want to get our lease agreement sorted out this week. Anyway, that's all for now.
