despite work might be a week or two away. Not that I'm hurting for cash or anything. The Oilers lost 2 crucial games but still manage to barely hold onto the last wild card spot in the Division.
I missed Super show down, yesterday morning. I'm more interested in tomorrow's Jets/Oilers contest tomorrow at Rogers place arena I don't know who "won" what. After a brief stint at home tomorrow the Oilers are on a 3 game road trip:
Then they are home for 4 games. Oilers do better on the road facing Eastern teams. We'll know by the end of this month if they'll make the playoffs.
Not a lot going on this weekend. Other then lodge Sunday. I'm staying inside. Yesterday we got up to +10c, but that could change as we're going back to -2's and +1's that type of thing. What with the Corona virus and the blockades, its been a crazy February. As for me, I'm working on a funk style beat for March. Look out for that. Anyway, that's all for now.

I decided to use Microsoft's edge
as my go to web browser. Its not to bad. Previously when using IE, I couldn't (as fa as I know) save a web page to the desktop. Best I could do is save to web pages to the tiles pane hitting Windows Start key, while using Windows 10. I'm not a fan of using Google Chrome, and Edge is the only other browser Cakewalk by Bandlab recognizes.
I used Sonar home studio as my first daw (digital audio workstation) back in 2010. My friend Byron was a one man band and put together his own punk rock songs. I still have his cd here. He let me try out his copy of Sonar (by Cakewalk) I graduated to Fl. Studio 2011, and tinkered around with the hobby, spinning my wheels. I only got into music production as a passing hobby. Then when I discovered that people were using hardware to make jams or beats, I thought I would give that a try. I bought the flavour of the year Novation Circuit as my first hardware synth. So I opened my music channel "Jim Shannon on sounds." Over the years I heard Cakewalk changed hands from Roland to some company called Gibson, (i think) then it was retired. I bought Reason 10 about 2 years ago. I didn't know Cakewalk by Bandlab was free until just the other day. I had purchased Cubase 6 back in 2012. If I would have known about Bandlab 2 years ago, I would have bought Omnisphere over Reason 10. Nothing against Reason, but Cakewalk can do the same basics as Reason, Cubase, Fl. Studio. I have some regrets that I bought Reason over even Omnisphere. At that time Long & McQuade let you put software on an account. Rewire was a Reason concept that is in Cakewalk today, which lets me record Reason plugins in Cakewalk. So I've been exploring Cakewalk over the past few days. Over the last weekend I bought at London Drugs a 10 port Usb 3 hub 😃
Yesterday Anne bought us burgers from Boardwalk, just down the street from us beside the 7-11/Tim's store. The meat was dried out and tough. Anne liked it. The burger reminded me of Fat burger. Ugh. On a scale of 1-5,I'd rate Boardwalk a 2. So Anne thought she'd buy us some baby back ribs at Costco for supper, we had while watching the late evening news even the ribs were tough. Anne was not having a good cooking day. The only place that makes half decent burgers was Red Robin (it closed 2 months ago) Wendy's and Boston Pizza. Their "Angus beef" burgers are pretty good.
It's not that I've stopped using Facebook, or retired my account, I'm just not posting anymore. I'm keeping messenger to occasionally chat with friends and family, and my Facebook groups. Other then Blogger, You tube and Twitter, I'm trying to be a Facebook ghost.
Lets see, yesterday it was Monday night Raw. Good show last night. Tonight its Oilers/Anaheim, Wednesday its Oilers/VGK, Thursday its WWE's "Super show down." I think its on at 10am mountain. Friday its Artfx dnb Live stream channel. Its a 5-6 hour live stream every Friday. I'm not there for the full show but its packed full of dnb producing goodness. Saturday its Plugin Guru live stream just before Anne heads out to work, and later that evening its Winnipeg Jets/Oilers at Rogers place. I've got a full week. Also, I could be called into work as well, which could change things. I'd rather work anyway. I'll have lots of time off during the summer. Anyway, I'm not going anywhere this weekend. Anne and I went to Smitty's (Manning) Sunday. On that note, that's all for now.

Oilers are 4th in the West with the
Wild in town. Oilers need to kick some Wild butt all over Rogers place arena tonight. Holland needs to make an impact trade this weekend.
While I appreciate the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs and their concerns, I also support the elected chiefs that want the LGN gas pipeline to move forward. Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs encouraging blockades to stop shut down our country's economy is not advancing the reconciliation cause. Instead of protests and blockades, I feel that the aims of the Wet’suwet’en should be handled in the courts. Another flashpoint this is week is the Teck frontier project. If Trudeau doesn't support this, I'm all in favour of Alberta holding a referendum on Wexit. Alberta separation.
On that note, I'm enjoying my time off but I'm looking forward to the next project. I'm trying to save up for a 2Tb ssd external hard drive. So. I've got the Wild/Oilers game on TV tonight plus WWE's Super showdown but that's for next week. Out at Max Saturday, and Oilers/LAK Sunday. 😃 Life is good. Anyway, that's all for now.

I would have gone into work this evening
but it looks like a short shift anyway. Looks like I'll be back sometime next week. This kid of schedule fits in well with my lifestyle. I don't mind the time off at all. Plus it will give me a chance to check out Sage, get some lunch there, maybe get in a game of Cribbage.
Finally, I have Fl. Studio almost where I want it to be. After a bit of tinkering, It works well now with Streamlabs. I can play my vst's talk between sounds and screen record just fine. I'm looking to get the Keystep pro midi controller, and the Presonus Studio Live AR12 mixer, hopefully before the year is out, and Omnisphere.
Last night it was so cold as we were waiting for our 9:15pm bus. I was with Carolyn, Jen and Steve. Steve doesn't work with us. He's a truck driver that befriended me. When I went to cash in my free 6/49 ticket, he went to the adjacent liquor store to get a micky. He offered me a snort but I had the girls there with me. It was only ~ -21 but that wind chill even with 2 layers of clothing under my parka, just stung right through us.
It was pretty cold. Tonight the weather heading home will be much better for the shift there if there is one:
Tonight its Boston/Oilers at 6:30 tonight. It'll give my wife a chance to go on the computer in between loads of laundry. Friday the Oilers entertain Minnesota Wild. Saturday, I'm out with the lodge for a breakfast business meeting at Max. I'm going to try and get a ride out there. One of the guys going agreed but I have to set it up. I miss going out with my friend but while one door closes another one opens. Anyway, that's all for now.

I hope I got work
this week. Might have some work lined up for tomorrow. Won't know until I call the office however before noon. Hopefully the next project will start Thursday or Friday. There is still some clean up work on this project that might last for a few days.
I was wondering how can I get multiple USB devices into my iPad running OS? Then I came across a video showing how this is done with a USB powered hub. I have one of those already for my computer I owned for a couple of years but the hub is USB 2 with 4 USB ports. I could use a hub with USB 3 ports. However the video I watched showed what I needed to set it up with my 2017 iPad running iPadOS: I'd need a lightning USB camera connection dongle. I bought one last December at London Drugs. After connecting everything together, it works great 😃 Very happy.
Anne and I like to go to Londonderry mall family day because they have what's called "family game day." It was pretty cold earlier this afternoon: -21/-31 wind chill. I suggested to Anne we stay home this afternoon, and go out next Sunday instead. Weather kept us away essentially. Anne went out anyway because she needed stuff at the mall, and got me some taco time while I "watched" (dozed off) some wrestling. It was good day.
Other then that, if there isn't any work this week, I have 2 Oilers games I'd like to watch. Wednesday its Boston/Oilers, and Friday its Minneapolis/Oilers. Saturday I'm at Max for breakfast with friends so it wont be a wasted week if there isn't any work. Plus it will give me a chance when the weather warms up in the next couple of days to check out Sage. So before bed I have a bottle of Sleeman's beer I'm going to tuck into, and work on my iPad for an upcoming track before bed. I almost forgot, I got 2 numbers on Saturday's 6/49 draw for a free ticket. Wu who! Anyway, that's all for now.

I got a couple days worth of work
this week but I don't know about today. It might be a short shift if there is a shift today at all but I'll wait for the boss to call me. Basically this will be enough to pay for my lodge dues at the end of the month.
So if I got a shift for this afternoon, the boss will call me. If not, I'll have a five day weekend, and I can go to Commercial lodge on Saturday. Next weekend and after that on the 22nd we're having working breakfast at Max in the West end. Anyway, that's all for now.

We're having a snow day out there
but at least its mild enough for my commute in a couple of hours.
Even coming home tonight should be alright. Hard to believe that within 27 days Edmonton Sunsets about 7:25pm. Although the snow will still be on the ground, our cold snaps
will be more or less behind us.
My activity tracker on my iPod has been sketchy lately. Some days are better then others. On a good day, I'm lucky I can get ~ 4k steps. Others like yesterday about 700. At the festive board bar the other day the guy there showed me his activity tracker on his phone: For that day 36,000 steps 😲? his job requires lots of walking. Plus he has a wrist activity tracker connected to his phone. Heck if I had one of those and a set up like his when I was working at the Army & Navy in the 80's, I'd have at least that many steps. Plus I had the paper route at the time as well.
I had a great 4 days off there. The wife and I were fighting for a bit in there, but that happens. I was able to lay the groundwork for a bit of a drum & bass track. Its just a short track but its going to have a trumpet as its main melody. I'm working on it when I get home this evening. Its in the C Major scale.
I should have enough work this week to last me up until Friday. This weekend being Valentines and Family day next Monday. I'm hoping to take Anne out for brunch at Albert's Londonderry mall. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been a week since I made a blog post
so in other words, I've been busy. I worked a couple days in there this week. Tuesday and Wednesday. Plus I had lodge last night. I'm even letting my Facebook page and Twitter feed lax. I might be getting a call to go in for tonight, but we'll see.
So there's been lots of news about the Corona virus, and of course Trump's impeachment acquittal. I had full week between work and music production, messing around with Reaper. I really need a new audio interface and a midi controller. But I need to pay off on that Zoom q2n 4k camera, which I'm not to happy with.
I didn't get a chance to get to Sage last week, what with work etc. I could have paid them a visit yesterday but we had the building inspectors here and it was impossible to tell when they'd get here and I had lodge last night and some speaking parts to memorize. I was under some stress yesterday but that's all (I hope) behind me now.
If I get a call to go in for tonight, I'll go in all right. If not it looks like we'll go in for Monday. I'm ok with that as well. Basically next week, I'm hoping for work, everyday. I'll even go in for 5 hours Saturday if possible before the Family day weekend coming up. Hopefully, I'll be able to post again between now and Valentines day. Anyway, that's all for now.
