Welcome to my Blog. Anne and I live here in Clareview Edmonton Alberta, with our 2 cats etc. This blog is about my life, rants, politics, books, music production, Sports, some gaming, Freemasonry and some WTF-ish moments that give me pause. Feel free to contact me on my Twitter feed or YouTube channel Shannon on Sounds. Thanks for dropping by
New Year's eve. We're not big on going out for fireworks or anything like that. Partying is not our thing. However, Anne's place of employment is buying us a large Pizza and I'll have a Pizza and beer night to ring in the new year.
It was great to get into ARTFX's (Art) Drum & Bass Youtube stream again after being absent for over a year. While I can't watch the whole stream as his streams usually go for about 5 hours. every Friday. I'll be attending Jade Starr's "How to app" & Doug Wood's "The Sound test room" 2-3 times a week. Just to spread everything around. I've got 2 video's in cue. One for this afternoon at 1pm, the other for next Saturday.
2022 hasn't been a great year for us. I got one project from the company. Anne had her hours and shifts cut back significantly. As a result of that, I lost half of my pension income. Fortunately, there were no deaths in the family. Then just after we renewed our lease for a 2nd year, the rental office/property management is raising rent because they are struggling with utilities. By utilities, we mean heat, water & garbage pickup. We do have our name in for seniors housing but we'd be in a holding cue. We have an interview on January 10th. I got a new audio interface from Arturia (mini fuse) thanks in part to my sister sent me some birthday money. Anne bought me my first smartwatch: The Versa 3. I'm really enjoying this. I got one more project for work. At least the weather had been ok. At the staff Christmas party, they said work will be getting better. Anyway, Anyway, that's all for now.
better. Not by much but we're out of the cold snap. We're trending at lower single digits. The other day I noticed this on Facebook and it made sense:
I've yet to do the above as far as I know but I know someone who fits that description. You know who you are.
I'm hoping to head out of here at 8am tomorrow morning for health care solutions to get my leg measurements for any CVI swelling. Then they can order my compression stockings. After that, it's breakfast at Smitty's and home. Anyway, that's all for now.
aren't huge Christmas people in the traditional sense of the term. We exchange gifts and put up the tree. We don't go to events or exchange Christmas cards etc. We have quiet Christmas. To be honest I'm glad it's over. However, Anne went and bought me this:
and she made us a nice turkey dinner. I won $15 which will go towards our dinner out in 2 weeks.
This week (while we are having decent weather) I need to go to Healthcare solutions to have my lower legs measured for a renewal of compression stockings. A lodge brother wants to have breakfast with me so if we can arrange this if it fits his schedule I hope to meet him at Smitty's Northgate. Hopefully, I can get the stockings on the same day. Other than hockey, that's about all that's going on. Anyway, that's all for now.
Even now we're at -19/-30 with a weather advisory warning. Next week we will be in low -single digits.
Next week I'll be asking Long & McQuade if they have any right-angle audio cables as my current sound card cable is becoming all tangled up. I also need to get to Northgate Healthcare Solutions. They want to take my leg measurements for compression stockings and they only do that until 11:30. I can get some lunch at Smitty's in the mall. If Long & McQuade have the cables, then after lunch it's take the Coliseum bus and the #104 along 118th street to get my cable and head for home. Sounds like a good time.
Tonight's Vancouver/Oilers game is still a go. Due to the recent bad weather, I thought the Canucks were a no-show. Anyway, I'd like to wish everyone happy holidays.
staff party was waiting 15 minutes in the cold yesterday at 2pm. The worst was over when I was on the train and heading downtown, Bay station. I waited a few minutes and headed upstairs street level, and walked the 2 blocks to the Alberta Block. It was a small gathering of 8 of us. 2023 promises to be a busy year. Management arranged for an Uber ride home, which was really nice of them. My first time taking Uber.
Right now we're situated at -34/-41 wind chill as depicted above. Next week we're into the low single-digit temperatures. This reminds me of 2014 when I was waiting to go to work at the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Ice crystals at 9:30am.
Today it's doing some research on an app I want to use for an upcoming video, Trying to keep warm, and getting ready for the upcoming Oilers game in Dallas. Then there is the Canucks/Oilers Friday and Saturday is Christmas eve, It's been a good week last week, and I've got no appointments this week. Finally. Anyway, that's all for now.
the beginning of a possible cold snap lasting until Saturday evening. Christmas day temps will be more comfortable.
Tomorrow at this time I will be downtown leaving the staff Christmas party. This will be the first time we've had one of these in person since Covid. If it's just going to be the Y-Station crew it could be a small gathering. The most important reason for me to be there is there will most likely be a "state of the union" address. The commute there and back will be the tough part.
Tonight it's Oilers/Nashville @ 6pm as the Oilers welcome the return of veteran Defenceman Jason Demers. Should be a good game. Anyway, that's all for now.
stay at home week. Nothing to do but eat sleep downtime watch hockey. My only outing is in an hour and a half from now for a breakfast gathering I'm winding down to once a month. My heart isn't in that as much anymore. I'm returning back to my roots.
Next week, I've got a work-related staff Christmas party I want to attend. Anne and I were going to go out somewhere for Christmas eve but most places are closing up early. We might just order a pizza instead.
The above meme is not just about a femme fatale that I once knew long ago, and 4 years ago allowed in my life and left but also about organizations. Both experiences occurred within the last 4 years. Both were/are learning experiences. Note to self: Be aware of the femme fatale.
My YouTube subscriber count @jimshannononsounds is increasing. I've got 155 subscribers. I thank the gods I've got 'em. Every single one. Anyway, that's all for now.
game are still 6th in the West. Oilers, did much better last night than Monday night. Thursday St. Louis is at Rogers Place. The Blues are 12th in the West having a tough go of things.
Yesterday afternoon I was in 2 YouTube streams. The Sound test Room for an hour and Jade Starr's "how to app" doing a demo on N-Track daw for i0s. I'd like to buy this but $40 and the download size is way too much for me right now. N-Track is similar to Roland's Zen Beats but has a lot more since I have just the free version of Zen Beats.
Not much going on today. We're warming up outside for a few days. For the early part of next week, we're going into the mid to low -20's. The first part of the cold spell will be Saturday for my men's breakfast and the outing to the staff Xmas party will be in the mid -20's. Hey, its winter. Anyway, that's all for now.
that was supposed to happen but didn't. That's ok. A text was sent out to everyone. It's going to be next week instead.
My recent track I uploaded yesterday, I hope you like it.
Ok same as last time, no changes. All that's on my agenda for this week is hockey tomorrow and Tuesday, Thursday & my bye weekly morning breakfast with the guys, and 2pm Oilers hockey. Plus get my track out for Saturday. I've got enough to keep me busy.
Today the Artemis-1 mission is supposed to splash down at ~ 10:40am Edmonton time. In a related story, Nasa has an Easter egg puzzle game in the Orion spacecraft. A bit late on this but here's the link. Anyway, that's all for now
the Wild was on a 7 game-winless streak. Until last night's 5-2 win for the home team. 😀 Our D corp was the only sour part of the Oilers game. Once again Oilers goaltender Skinner stopped 42 shots and was the star of the game.
The above image is for today's Facebook page. See sidebar left.
My Auv3 "Needlepoint" video seems to have passed the initial copyright claim. Wait till it goes public this afternoon.
I've got zero appointments or outings happening next week. My calendar is clear. Other than 4 Oilers games this week and my next video upload its going to be an easy week Anyway, that's all for now.
rescheduled for January 10, which is on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm. Much easier for us to handle.
Last night the Oiler hosted the Arizona Coyotes 14th in the West. The Oilers won 8-2 but a win is a win no matter how you get them. However, it was a boring game and an ugly win. No Oilers hockey tonight but there is a game with the Wild/OIlers Friday night.
At least our local weather looks good for the next 10 days:
I'm only going around the block to 50th and 134th. no big deal
I got my track uploaded to my channel for 1pm Saturday. Jim Shannon on Sounds Having a jam in AUM with Needlepoint. Also, I was able to upgrade to Fl. Studio 21 today (free) Other than what was mentioned. Anyway, that's all for now.
for senior's housing tomorrow @ 1:30pm happen isn't going to happen after all. This morning I took it upon myself to call our point of contact to confirm our appointment for 1:30pm. Then my work supervisor emailed me saying that someone from the housing provider called him and he took the phone number down for me. So my original point of contact asked if had received any emails from the new point of contact, saying the interview location has changed and so has the time. What? Anne and I were going to have dinner after that and get our cat Skippy to the vet. So I felt I owed my supervisor an explanation. No problem. So now I've got to call this new lady to set up a new appointment. Yeesh. What a mess.
So instead we're ordering pizza tonight because it's our 22nd wedding anniversary. The idea was to go out for dinner after our interview and for Anne to take Skippy to the vet while I watch my Oilers game. Anyway, that's all for now.
thank God. Tomorrow, it's Washington Capitals/Oilers, Tuesday is open, and Wednesday is our senior housing appointment, followed by another Oilers game. Thursday is open, Friday is another Oiler game, and Saturday morning is my breakfast with the guys. That's about it. Anyway, that's all for now.
I've got nothing going on. No going out for anything. Sunday I had lodge practice, and Wednesday Doctors appointment, yesterday lodge. I'm pooped.
Patreon is a service designed for YouTube content creators etc. It's a way for channel owners to allow followers to be a member. Members donate with a credit card to a channel they like. Initially, I became a member of one channel for $50/year. Around mid-October, I decided I wasn't getting any value from this channel, so I thought I would unsubscribe. Patreon charged my card $50. So Now I got to deal with them later today. I'll pay the $23 but not the $50. If I'm in the right, as I think I am. One thing is clear no more Launchpad. too many Copyright claims. Anyway, that's all for now.
what again in 2 live streams. I bought 2 apps from Unfiltered audio for ~ $7 each "Silo," and "Needlepoint." I'm going to use them in my next upload, which I hope to do a return to "Touchscrapper."
The disk with the orange centre spins.
Silo. Granular synthiszer
I'm out of here at 1pm today for my 1:45pm appointment. Anne said the bus shelter out here is still not repaired. Most likely because it's near a residential complex.
After I return from my downtown appointment, Anne and I are going to go out for dinner at a place nearby before the 7:30pm hockey game. Then I got lodge Thursday. Other than that, not much is going on for the weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.
the Edmonton Oilers OT win over Florida Panthers at Rogers Place Arena. With just 4.4 seconds on the game clock, Bouchard winds up and scores. In OT McDavid to Draisaitl. 4-2 OT
Earlier during the day, I got onto Doug Woods's channel. Jade Starr had a 2-hour stream on SuperImpose V. Could this be a luma fusion Killer? Idk about that. Also yesterday I got up to 150 subscribers 😀 So I decided to buy an app on Cyber Monday called Bass-Mint by Unfiltered Audio for cad $7
I have a day off today, then I have a Doctors appointment. Wednesday, then home and once Anne returns we plan on going out for dinner across the street. Thursday I have lodge to start the month off. Anyway, that's all for now.
if any overnight last night. Anne had picked us up our Tims breakfast. I brought mine with me to BoB's. I didn't know it at the time but going out the back way by the office was a bad idea. It was very icy. I took baby steps. After our meeting, I headed out the back way, It was nice and Sunny. It felt like a spring day. Approaching the ETS bus bench for my 10:15am arriving shortly, it felt like a spring day.
I got home to finish the leftover coffee I had earlier and settled in to watch the Oilers game. The first period had 2 coaches' challenges ruled in Oiler's favor. I went to pea and it was 2-0 Rangers, then they scored again. I gave up after the 2nd period. I figured to check the score and it was 3-2 Rangers? What? We got a hockey game. Then Oiler's tied it 3-3. Then we got the go-ahead goal. 21 games in Dylan Hollowaygot his 1st goal. Everybody played well. We went from 10th to 7th. Even Calgary lost. Next up Panthers/Oilers.
As for this week, I'm working on my next track. Lodge practice tonight, Oilers Monday. Doctors appointment Wednesday. Anne and I are going out for dinner on Wednesday, Lodge Thursday, and Habs/Oilers hockey on Saturday. A busy week for sure. Anyway, that's all for now.
5:30pm this afternoon at the UBS arena in Elmont New York. Oilers/Islanders. Islanders Mathew Barzal is from my hometown of Coquitlam BC. Not sure who Oilers are going to have in net. Campbell seems ready to go.
I went to bed at about 3am and I got up shortly before 9 for about 5 hours of sleep. I had my morning coffee about to have some lunch and catch the Sound test room. I might pass out during Doug's stream.
I got a new subscriber to my @jimshannononsounds channel yesterday. Now at 148 subscribers. I wanted to get to 200 subscribers by the end of the year. I thought if I went on a weekly upload schedule, that would help. I'd be happy if I get to 150 before the end of the year. My goal for 2023 is 250 subscribers. Anyway, that's all for now.
Grey Cup game. It doesn't matter what 2 teams are playing. Yesterday afternoon the Toronto Argonauts/Winnipeg Blue Bombers found themselves in the host city of Regina at 5pm Edmonton time. It was a great game. Argo's won 24/23 ending Winnipeg's chance of a 3 (Grey Cups) consecutive win dynasty.
My new year's resolution for 2023 (other than the job) is to spend less time nonproductive time, on the computer and more time with my wife, and Lodge events, watching Oilers games and senior drop-ins, and face-to-face gaming. Oh, and my exercises/health.
Not a lot going on this week. I'm calling the South Clareview Community League drop-in line, to see if they are active. I'll be doing that today. Plus, there's the Oilers/NJD game at 5pm, Wednesday is the Oilers/NYI 5:30pm, Black Friday, my Saturday am breakfast to 9:30, then the Oilers/NYR on at 11am. Anyway, that's all for now.
a work schedule this week. I hope I get one. If one doesn't come, that will most likely be it for the year. The less I make this year the greater my pension will be next year. In theory.
Yesterday I did absolutely nothing. I ended up with just over 4500 steps on the day though and watched the Oiler win in their first OT game of this season over VGK.
Not much going on this week, except I'm following a bit of the Grey Cup game in Regina: Argo's/Bombers. Plus I have hockey Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is Black Friday, so I'm looking at a few apps to go on sale, and there's my bi-weekly Saturday men's breakfast I like to go to. Anyway, that's all for now.
but there was enough in there to tell me that I won't have any work between now and into early the new year. That's ok, as I have 4 events between now and the end of the month, and about 6 Oilers games in there as well. Next month 5 events and 21 Oilers games.
I have 2 uploads in advance on my YouTube channel. My November 26th upload, I changed the Key and BPM. No copyright claims. The above steps should be best practices moving forward.
Not much going on this weekend other than the Oilers game at 8pm Saturday. At least the weather is warming up. I'm still playing Baulder's Gate 1 and reading "Icarus Plot" by Timothy Zhan. Anyway, that's all for now.
yesterday was watching the LA Kings/Oilers debacle @ Rogers Place arena. Lord, I need a life. 😂 I thought the Oilers brought their C game to the fans last night. The game was tied at 1 until McDavid took an egregious cross-checking penalty, and LA scored. To me, that was the turning point in the game. The Oilers wore their reverse "retro" jersey. The LA Kings played awesome hockey. They deserved that win. The last goal was an empty net. Only our goaltender and Zach Hyman we're the shining lights in the game.
Anne didn't feel like cooking so we ordered a small Royal pizza for our 10pm dinner. I'm doing the video editing part of my November 26th track. Other than that, its been pretty slow around here. Anyway, that's all for now.
for Artemis 1 changed again. Now, it's supposed to be today. Yeah right. If it launches today, I'll be very surprised.
I played a bit of Balder's Gate on my Nintendo Switch earlier before dinner. Balder's gate 2 came in the same order.
Oh and this week I got 2 new subscribers for Jim Shannon on sounds. My goal was 200 by year-end. There's a good chance I'll get to 150. 200 by the end of 2022 for sure.
So far no work schedule for this and next week. Tonight is LA Kings/Oilers 8pm. Our weather here in Edmonton is going to get a bit colder. -10 is cold? 😂 Anyway, that's all for now.
claims within 1 month of using Launchpad, I decided to give up on it. Besides, it was taking a hit out of my limited monthly allowance. I have yet to have a copyright claim using Splice. I'm going to reset this once-a-week posting to bi-weekly. Weekly posting is not sustainable.
I'm not sure I heard this right but Nasa is still on track for Artemis 1 launch tomorrow November 15th 😂 That mission has had so many fail launch attempts I lost count.
Not a lot going on this week. I'll be following Artemis 1. There's an Oilers/Kings game Wednesday. I have a Doctors appointment Friday at 2:30pm. Then there's an Oilers game Saturday at 8pm. TBH boredom is settling in. I'll be happy when I'm back to work. Anyway, that's all for now.
for the most part uneventful. However, I was able to contact Alberta Blue cross for seniors about some ointment I wanted a prescription for. They said there is a generic brand for it. Plus I was able to book an appointment with my Doctor downtown for next Friday.
Alo I watched 3 Oilers games this week, and yesterday was Remembrance day. Later this morning I'm having a breakfast meeting at about 8am, get some sleep and there is the Oilers/Panthers game on at 2pm. So this was a pretty good week so far.
The only downside is I haven't been scheduled for any work so far this month. This has got me a bit anxious but I'm not going to panic. I was told I'm going to be working on the next 2 projects, hopefully between now and the end of the year and 1 early in the new year. I have a bill I'm trying to pay off before the end of this year or early next year.
Next week (Monday) NASA is (again) going to try to launch Artemis 1. I'll believe it when I see it. Next week I have only 2 Oilers games and they are home games. LA Kings Wednesday and Vegas/Oilers. 2pm next Saturday. I'm also going to try to get down to Commercial lodge as well next Saturday. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's all for now.
evening work for the rest of this year as the window for that opportunity is closing. The new year looks pretty good though. However, never say never. Though I won't hold my breath waiting for this year. It's all good.
I got asked to do a small part in my lodge's installation for next year. There are no speaking parts. I'll go to the practice last Sunday of this month. We're on the first Thursday of the month.
I think I bought 1 Steam game, but there seems to be some hot buzz going around about Steam's Steam deck. The Steam deck kind of looks like a Nintendo Switch but plays Steam's giant catalog of games. There are over 50,000 titles of various qualities. To get a top-tier Steam deck here in Canada costs something like $800. At my age, I'm in no hurry to get one anyway.
Tonight, I got the Oiler/Capitals game on at 6pm, Then the boy's go play in TB, Wednesday I'm remembering somebody's birthday, and Carolina is Thursday 5pm. Remembrance day is Friday, then the boys are in Florida for another 2pm matinee game. Lots of hockey. Anyway, that's all for now.
colds over here. I've had mine since Tuesday. Anne a few days before me. Yesterday (for me) it's been mostly its been a rough cough and bringing up phlegm.
Over the last 4 games, the Oilers went from no. 2 in the West to no. 6. Calgary was at #1 now in 9th position. Surprisingly Seatle is in the #3 spot. Fortunately for the Oilers, they head out on a 4 game road trip since lots of teams this year (Vancouver) don't do that well at home. Tomorrow, the Oilers are in Washington D.C.
After Anne did her job she ordered us a Royal Pizza. I put my $10 in. Since our first meal won't be until about 5:30 this afternoon. Other than that, we've had a pretty good weekend despite winter hitting us with some snow. It's the wind that does us in. Oh well, it's all good. Anyway, that's all for now.
Alberta senior's contact sent me a follow-up email. We have a 9am appointment for November 23rd. It's only an interview. They have questions for us, and we have some for them. No doubt this is like a queue, with ~ "700" applicants ahead of us. Anne and I should have done this when I turned 65 but I only heard about this last year. Fortunately, there are other providers out here.
I missed the first period of the game. Missing the Oiler's first-ever hall of fame ceremony with Lee Fogolin and Ryan Smyth. The score was tied at one when I joined the game in progress. The Oilers scored the next 2. New Jersey came within 1. Within 7 seconds, NJ scored 2 goals and lead 4-3. The Oilers blew a 3-goal lead in the 3rd. So much for adding to the 5 game-winning streak. Oilers never fare well when they have these types of ceremonies. Oiler's 2 goals to win were 7 seconds apart.
I don't know if this is a cold or if it's Covid or what? I'm not puking or bringing up phlegm. No doubt this will be history by the weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.
throat and developed into watery eyes. I felt a slight fever coming on as well. Then my sinuses began dripping. I didn't eat much of the lunch Anne made for me. I had to call one of my lodge brothers to cancel his pick-up for me today for tonight. I really wanted to go to lodge tonight, but my next opportunity will be November 23rd.
It began last night with our first snowfall of the season. About 3.5 inches. We're going to get -10 to 13* for the next 7 days. We're finally into winter. Anyway, that's all for now.
I received an invitation for us to arrange an interview for seniors housing. It's not confirmed yet but we are hoping for a Tuesday afternoon interview in the Northgate area. Plus we hope to go out for dinner after that. Hopefully, it's also to view a suite for immediate occupancy. This is just an interview to get our foot in the door.
As usual, Jack Campbell let in the first goal of last night's Nashville/Oilers game. We scored after that. By the end of the first period, it was the Visitors' 1 Oiler 5. The oilers made it 7-4 at the end of the 3rd. I don't have a lot of confidence in our starter goalie.
Anne went out to do some shopping at Walmart and got me one of my meds. She said it looked like it was sticking. Anyway, that's all for now.
Anne got me my Tims. I had called #311 for transit info and the stop I needed at 134th Ave. 50th street. I was told 10:13. When I left out of here there was a bitterly cold wind. We had 5 of us there.
After that, I meandered out to my stop. It was still gusty wind. I went to Clareview station and doubled back by the same bus at Shoppers Drug mart. Because I got my 4th shot in September I had to wait 5 months between shots, which will be January for my next one. The wind had eased off a bit but I walked home ok.
I was so exhausted from lack of sleep, I just went to bed for some more hours getting up at ~ 1:40pm. I settled in to watch the Oilers/Flames game. The Oilers are now 2nd in the West! The next Oilers game is on Tuesday.
About the only thing I got going on this week is lodge. Unless I get called back to work, Anyway, that's all for now.
at Londonderry mall yesterday. Anne had a shop to visit first. I checked Lids while Anne was busy and they have the 2 hats I want but my funds are pretty low at the moment. We hooked up at Albert's and had our dinner. It was nice. I had a cheeseburger/fries, and Anne had the all-day breakfast. This time she paid.
After a nice wait for our bus to Clareview, it was mild and it felt like an April day with rain in the air. We got off at Shoppers and walked the rest of the way back home. That's when the wind picked up. At home, Anne found the Oilers/Chicago game on TV in progress for me tied at one.
It was a crazy hockey game. Goals scored left right and centre. Oilers won 6-5 but the score should have been 7-4. Sloppy officiating and missed calls. All in all, it was a good evening. I could have gotten one of those hats because when during game intermission I checked my email and I received a $50 deposit from the job. Nice. What a great day. Plus at the end of the day, I was able to get just over 7000 steps. Good times. Anyway, that's all for now.
up to our power gone as expected. I went back to bed. I had trouble sleeping and in all of that, I heard this beep. P💭ower back on? I couldn't sleep but looked at our clock radio blinking at ~ 11:05am Power is on? That was quick. So much for me going out.
Anne wanted me home to wake her about 3pm up because she needed to take our cat Skippy in for her shot she takes every month for her eye. So I just did my thing and about 5:30pm she headed out to Pet smart.
I ended up watching the Oilers/St. Louis rematch. It was an exciting game. Oilers won 3-1 and head to Chicago for a back-to-back for a 7pm game. Hopefully, I can watch that before Anne and I are back from our Londonderry Mall outing. That's if we go. I'm hoping to get my flu shot Friday. Anyway, that's all for now.
We have Epcore apparently shutting off our power for today. It's just the 50th Street/137th Ave building. Power will be off from 9-3pm. It'll give me a chance to go across the street to get my Covid/Flu shot. I hope. If not I'll get a scratch-and-win pack, and walk over here to catch the bus to McDonald's for a coffee have some fun.
Tonight it's Oilers/St. Louis Blues. Our first road game of the season. I might even get some cheesies for the occasion, idk.
I think I heard gef, "Greater Edmonton Foundation," say they were booking interviews for the end of November. That's just to see them, never mind getting a suite. I'm sure we are in the waiting queue. "You are 4,327 of 9,988. thank you for your patience" 🤣but it's worth a shot.
I tried out the extra cane we have and it helps me to stand for a while longer. So I'll be taking this to lodge next week. I'm looking forward to that as well. Unless I'm working I want to attempt to go to Commercial lodge downtown but we will see. Anyway, that's all for now.
Sports fans. The Elks lost again last night 14-31. 17 losses. This afternoon, The Oilers lost 2-0. 2 wins 5 games. No need to panic though. We play Pittsburgh Monday.
Right now social media is more or less dead as far as my accounts go. Some weekends are like that I guess.
My "Warp Trap" video is up and running. I noticed since I went weekly, my stats are down. Maybe I should post music-related content instead of just music videos.
This week I don't have a lot going on. There are 4 Oilers games on TV and a breakfast meeting this Saturday. I want to go get my flu/Covid shot across the street. Anyway, that's all for now.
that Shoppers across the street are taking walk-ins for the Omicron variant booster and flu shot. Same visit. Until 6pm. So I hope to get this done today before noon.
My "Warped Trap" video is up on YouTube to be released to the public after 1:30pm Saturday @ Jim Shannon on Sounds. Also yesterday YouTube announced what's called "Handles." It's a way for channels to connect with each other more readily. YouTube also removed the 100 subscriber limit to have custom-made URL's which is good news.
I never did make it over to Red Claw to the Edmonton Wargamers group or the historical board wargaming night last night. Hopefully next month.
Today it's Carolina Hurricanes/Edmonton Oilers. Then tomorrow night (Friday) is the last Elk's (CFL) home game hosting the BC lions. It's been 16 games since Elks won at home. Yeesh. Saturday at 2pm it's Saint Louis/Oilers. My weekend is loaded. Anyway, that's all for now.
local weather patterns change. We're enjoying the low +20s until about tomorrow. Next week we're into mid-single digits, +3-5. As long as there's no snow.
I took this photo the other day for my Facebook profile page:
Not a lot going on this week. Anne's going on a bottle run and to pick us up a Taco Time. I'm thinking about heading over to Red Claw gaming tonight or tomorrow. I'm not sure. Buffalo/Oilers tonight. I need to book AHS to get my 2nd booster and flu shot sometime this week as well. Anyway, that's all for now.
profile photo yesterday after watching the Elks lose and the Oilers later. The Elks didn't lose by much: 23-28. The Oilers fared no better. Thanks to sloppy D and poor goaltending the Oilers lost 3-4. If Skinner was in net, I'm sure the outcome would be better for the home team.
Yesterday was a massive TV binge-watching day from 5pm to midnight. Elks at 5pm, Oilers at 8pm. Evening news at 11.
Not much going on for today. I'm thinking about setting up my Sony camera in a better position on my desk and working on the next video.
This week Anne wants to go on a bottle run and out to Alberts for brunch. Plus I want to get a Dairy Queen treat. Maybe on Tuesday. Plus on the way home I can check out Red Claw gaming on the way back to see if anyone is playing ASL, and meet the guys.
If I'm not working I want to set up another Pfizer shot for the Omnicron variant and a flu shot. Merril was saying we can get them done simultaneously in different arms. So lots going on this week. Anyway, that's all for now
a work schedule in my email next week. I might know sometime today. From what I'm hearing, however, I doubt it. I don't mind having some time off though but not too much.
I found out the other day that Red Claw Gaming just over here 137th and Fort Road, has Historical board wargaming Wednesdays. 😀 This is something up my street. Literally. So I sent an email asking if any of the guys play Advanced Squad Leader (ASL)? I got a reply saying the Edmonton Wargamer group has been known to play ASL. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. They look like a small group of 6-10 guys max. So next week, if I'm not working I'll check it out.
Tomorrow I have my men's breakfast gig from 8am-9:30am. I'm hoping My fraternal brother Patrick can make it out to BoB. Then it's a nap and the Argo's are in town at 5pm to play the Elk's in a CFL home game opportunity to earn a home win. If they can't this Saturday then their last chance is next weekend as the BC lions are in town. After the 🏈 game, it's Flames/Oilers @ Rogers Place Arena.
we finished. It ended at about 8:30pm. How long I'm off for, I have no idea. I get paid Friday and I'm going to enjoy my time off.
Also, tomorrow is the Oiler's season opener as we host the Canucks. I have a Saturday morning breakfast gig and I'd like to go to Commercial lodge after that. Hopefully, I can make it back in time for the Argo's/Elks last game of the season. It should be a good weekend.
"Rocktober" is in my YouTube private queue channel. It should be a good weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.
off and back at it for one day Tuesday 😀 We might have a week off for the next project or the month's balance off as well. Hard to tell.
Yesterday I was over at the Shrine Centre as our lodge was giving a 50th-anniversary presentation for a lodge member. This brother is so popular in fact there must have been over 100 guys out there from lodges across the Edmonton area. I got to meet 3 of our new members as I haven't been out to lodge in a while. I also met Commercial lodge's senior Warden at the event. I haven't been to their lodge downtown since 2013 when they had their 100th anniversary. I'm overdue for a visit.
Right now it's Thanksgiving weekend. I like this weekend because it's a long weekend in mid-October and it's still relatively mild plus it's Halloween month. Speaking of which, we've got a few spooky events here in YEG: "Pumpkins After Dark." An outdoor walk-through experience featuring pumpkin sculptures and more. They have a cool website. Sounds like fun. Plus Fort Edmonton Park has DARK. An Edmonton haunted festival. All that and the Oilers begin their 2022-23 season next week. Now that's scary. 🦇.
I'm going to enjoy these 4 days off and if I got next week off as well, even better. I've got a Doctors appointment I need to arrange. We're usually busy in November so that's good. Anyway, that's all for now.
early Saturday morning and after that, it was back to my place to log in for the job thing. It wasn't that productive so the shift was pulled at 1pm. I had only a few hours of sleep anyway.
I was following the Al's/Elks game at the half 14-7 Al's. Then just before the 2nd half: 18-17 Elks. Maybe we got ourselves a game. Three times Elks got to goal only to turn it over and an interception and a pick-6. Elks could never progress after that. 25-18 Al's. Maybe there will be some redemption next weekend when our Elks visit Winnipeg. Including that one, we got 3 games remaining to not only improve upon a better record than last season. We have 2 games to win one at home.
This could be my last week on the project as we're going to wrap up calls. Thursday one of our lodge members will be receiving his 50-year jewel. We're holding a special meeting at the Shrine club. After that I expect I'll have some time off and I'm ok with that. Anyway, that's all for now.
I have a new video scheduled to go public tomorrow at 1pm. "Roll 'em." It's a cinematic piece of music.
This weekend is the "Truth & Reconciliation" long weekend. I don't mean to be disrespectful but for me, it means a day off and I can watch all of the Al's/Elks game Saturday. Anyway, that's all for now.
Speaking of the weekend, Friday the Oilers are hosting Calgary in a preseason game🥱 It's not a free game to watch like most of the regular season games are. Then I've got BoB to attend on Saturday morning before shift if we have one. I'll be missing the 1st half of the Al's/Elks game but I'll catch the 2nd half. So lots going on. Anyway, that's all for now.
shift from 10-3pm. The project called for 6 completes, which is flow. I ended up with 9 😲 Plus it looks like we're going to go until October 7th. That doesn't mean I'll be dialing until then.
Anne wanted to try Swiss Chalet again because of their new roast beef menu. We might go out tomorrow but we're not sure. Money is tight until the end of the month. So maybe next weekend. If we elect to stay home, I might be able to catch the Oiler's pre-season opener as we're hosting Winnipeg.
Apparently, Artemis 1 is ready to launch Tuesday. I'll believe it when I see it. Anyway, other than the above not much else is going on. Just working out the week. Anyway, that's all for now.
week. Not a lot going on right now. I uploaded a new video "Mumbai fusion." It's World electronic music. I set the video on YouTube to go public on Saturday at 1pm.
While I was working last night, Anne went to Northgate to get my compression stockings. She said she had breakfast at Smitty's, which was much better than the one we had at the Manning crossing location a few weeks ago. Her breakfast (brunch) was fresh, while at the Manning location was tasted like everything but the eggs were left since the previous morning. I think next time I'm at Northgate, I might pop in myself since I haven't been at that Smitty's location since 2018.
I received a work schedule this morning for a few days next week. We're almost nearing the end of the project as it is. I'll be lucky if I get 1 shift out of that. Anyway, that's all for now.
and barely halfway through, I had a decent day. I hadn't received any flack from the respondent about the Queen's funeral. Earlier before my shift, I made a couple crucial phone calls. One of those calls has potentially life-changing implications for Anne and me. I have my doubts we'll benefit from that call anytime soon.
Yesterday was a bit on the cooler side of late September as we're in the high temp teens, weather-wise🙏 This is more my kind of weather.
The other call I made had to do with Anne picking up compression stockings since I'm working now and she has the time off tomorrow. Anyway, that's about all for now.
(my end) and my 3rd shift, in I, have one more loose-end the Super and I are going over at 4pm in a video chat. Voxco is a good system but I somehow logged into the test project and not the real project. Anyway, performance-wise for my 2nd shift yesterday I was doing well. Not sure if I will make the Saturday breakfast but we'll see. I'm going to call a lodge brother that lives nearby to see if he'd be interested in coming out. Being an independent contractor he might not want to come out. We'll see how that goes.
I've got another track uploaded to YouTube but it's on a timer going from Private to Public. I set it up when I uploaded it that way. So let's see if during my shift Saturday, it works out that way.
Yesterday Anne had her iPad stolen from her shopping cart. The screen was cracked anyway but she had a lot of stuff on that iPad and she used it for price checks. So today she is going to get another iPad. We still have our original iPad from 2011, so I told her to ask the folks at the Apple Genious bar to help her set up the new iPad with her own Apple I.d. Hopefully to preserve the apps I have on the old one. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's all for now.
to my shift last night. I had trouble signing in so we got that sorted out. Then I had problems with the app as it was slow going. The typing wasn't smooth at all. Anne thought it was my keyboard but I can type normally in Teams on that laptop with this keyboard. I had to end my shift early trying to restart but that didn't make a difference. Tech support wants me to power up my laptop 2 hours before my shift. None of my other colleagues had trouble. Not even Telus tech support could help after my shift.
This morning I was able to complete our GEF application and tax information. I just need a contact phone number. Anne suggested a work colleague. Good idea. Anyway, that's all for now.
Queen Elizabeth, she was here in Edmonton the week before I arrived to open the Commonwealth games. The same week my brother got married. I got a job here and stayed after that leaving everything else behind. I was vaguely aware the Queen was even here in this city at the time. The arrival of the Queen (I seem to recall) made almost as much excitement as the games themselves. As I look back on that moment in history it was a special time in my life. Was it really 44 years ago? Wow.
Yesterday (after fasting for 12 hours) I headed out to Northgate mall, to see if I can get my compression stockings a week early and to Dynalife. It was a beautiful sunny day. I had lots of water with me. On my way, I cashed in a Blackjack ticket at the Clareview Redimart. I won $10 playing on Wednesday. I bought 5 more tickets to play for later. As for the stockings I'm on a program that covers 50% of those stockings. When I got to where I pick-up my stockings the girl at the counter said they don't even have them in stock to give them to me. So they placed an order for me. Then upstairs to Dynalife to get that blood sample to my Doctor. They didn't have the form on file. Which was odd because they usually do hold it for a few days. I think next time I'm going to make an appointment so there is no waiting. I heard in the line up there was a 40-minute wait time. So shot down twice. I bought some breakfast at Tim's, sat in the food court playing my scratch and win tickets, having a great time anyway. I won another $15 😲 That partially covered my Tim's breakfast. After I ate, I headed to the lottery booth and bought 5 more blackjack tickets to play when I get home. So I took a long way around inside the mall instead of just heading out the back way under the parkade. Northgate mall finally have the benches installed, which made navigating out of the mall easier. On my way out I noticed something called "Game City." I never knew this story existed before. It's basically a comic book card game store. They have a lot of Magic the Gathering cards. Some of them (under a glass counter) have a price of $50+ Wow.
Still, on my outing from yesterday, I hobbled over to Northtown Transit and waited for the #123 Coliseum. From there the plan was to get the #104 and head home. It was such a nice day. While on the home I figured let's stop here at the Highlands Long & McQuade store. it used to be the old Safeway. I wanted to get the Arturia MiniFuse 2 audio interface since my Focusrite "died" on me about a week ago. I took $100 from my savings and $100 on my visa. I'll pay ~ 80% of my bills at the end of the month including my Arturia interface. Even Tim Waterson on staff was there my old work colleague from iMark. It was great chatting it up with him. Also, the good news in all of the above, I even ended up with over 4,000 steps. Despite not getting my compression stockings and bloodwork, I had a good day.
As for today, I'll be watching the Stampeders at Edmonton. Can the Elks finally win at Commonwealth? That game is on at 6pm.
Work will resume on Monday. I'm looking forward to getting back so I can pay my bills. I'll be posting in here once a week. Most likely on Sundays. Anyway, that's all for now.
yesterday for my Covid booster. It takes 2 weeks for it to kick in. It didn't cost me anything so why not?
So it looks like we're good to go for Monday. Finally, work at last. I can pay off a major bill. As long as I get 10 days in I'm good. Hopefully, we'll be busy until Christmas break. I need the Camlink 4K Pro and the 4Tb SSD and the teleprompter. I read scripts at work so I'm no stranger to this.
I was considering going to the lodge BBQ and I still might go ahead, I'm not sure yet. I haven't been to the BBQ in a few years. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's all for now.
was easier to put together than I thought. I used some motion graphics from Luma Fusion Story Blocks. For what I need, I can get the same or even better from Zgame editor. Free in Fl. Studio. So I canceled Story Block's subscription. I just have Splice and Launchpad.
The last (I hope) of our recent heat spell ended overnight Sunday. We're at 20* C at the moment. We're supposed to get to 22 as a high today. That's perfect for me. 🙏🏻
Work will finally pick up next Monday. Not only was I getting bored after not working for 6 months, but I have big bills to pay. Two cheques and I'll owe nothing 👀
I was going to go out to Dynalife today and get some bloodwork done but Anne had me babysit her Amazon order, while she was sleeping. It's a walk-in anyway. Apparently, her product is out for delivery. Good because I have my 2nd Booster shot for the pharmacy across the street tomorrow afternoon. Anyway, that's all for now.
when I headed out yesterday, it wasn't that bad in the breeze. I didn't have long to wait for the bus to Clareview station. I had lots of water and some diet cola. I had a bit of a wait at Central station. I hadn't been at Central station at that time of day since the call center in 2019 on the way home.
So I hobbled over to Sherlock Holmes. It was busy. My party hadn't arrived yet. Gradually they filed in. We had about 7 of us including the supervisor. It was a good time. I can't say much for the food. My burger was dried out. It was nice meeting everyone there.
I left about 8pm after one of my colleagues placed a call to my place. The line was busy. So I left and hobbled back to Central. My train came and at Clareview my #104 shut down at 8:30pm. On a Saturday night? That's criminal in a city like this. I decided to walk home, and that was really hard o me. With my CVI, my legs were almost like jelly. Like I can walk ok around here and all, no problem. I almost lost my balance a couple times while walking back.
Sure I could have caught a cab home and it would have cost me about $6. I had that on me and my Visa anyway. Next time I'll take a cab.
As I close out here, this week is going to be busy. I have a Tuesday walk-in Dynalife for blood work. Wednesday my 2nd Covid Booster across the street at 3pm, Saturday, the lodge BBQ. Not sure about the BBQ yet though. As for this week, I'm hunkering down at home taking it easy as work starts next week. Anyway, that's all for now.
wanted to go to lodge last night but Anne suggested against it. Mainly due to the heat. Not that there was a heat warning or anything. I didn't want to go because my CVI is causing me issues and it's hard for me to stand. Plus there was floor work going on and I would have been hard-pressed to participate. Standing for long periods of time is problematic for me these days.
My "Dancehall Jimmy" video is posted and ready to go public tomorrow. I even got a visualizer from Zgame editor (Fl. Studio) in the video. It's almost an essential item for a YouTube content creator but the next item for my "studio" will be a teleprompter. This will make me sound a bit more professional. The teleprompter is so I can write a script for my videos. My camera sits behind the teleprompter. The iPad or i0s device with appropriate software sits flat and the screen reflects the iPad screen to scroll the script (at one's own pace) I'd be talking into the teleprompter and my camera with my Rode mic on a boom arm is out of the camera shot. Here's what I mean:
Other than the above tomorrow I have the "end-of-summer" work event right behind Central Station. I'll bring water to stay hydrated. The LRT will take me there. Climbing the stairs might be an issue. Next week I have a Dynalife walking thing I need to get to. It's a fasting overnight thing. I go to the Northgate branch because with me being diabetic after fasting I'll need a bite to eat almost immediately after. I'll take the walker with me. Other than that, it's labor day weekend. No Elk's football except for Monday. other than the heat should be a nice weekend. Anyway, that's all I got for now.
to say the least. Mainly because the property manager wants us to pay rent online. No more cheques. We spent about 2 hours in the office, and I had to change the pw several times. Fortunately, the office girl's help was amazing and guided us through the whole procedure. It's a simple process. At least we got our rent paid for September and set up to pay the rent going forward. We pride ourselves on paying our bills as we have never deflated on our rent.
I could go to Northgate DynaLife today but it's very warm out there. I'm going to leave that to next week. Today, I'm just sitting at home and producing music. That's all I want to do anyway. Up next for Saturday is "Dancehall Jimmy" with an animated visualizer to the music.
Tomorrow it's lodge, and Saturday it's Sherlock Holmes on a Labour day long weekend. Followed by the Elks/Calgary for the Labour Day CFL Classic. Anyway, that's all for now.
brunch at Smitty's. She brought the walker with her but had to get our bus pass at Safeway. I waited for her in the restaurant. We ordered the 2 eggs hash browns toast and pancakes. The Pancakes replaced my toast. Including tip came to ~ $40. $20 each. We were not impressed. The hashbrowns (cubed) looked like they were off somebody's plate from earlier. The sausages tasted like leftovers. The service was excellent. We were not impressed.
Anne forgot something at Safeway so I took the walker and under my own power crossed 137 and Fort road. Then to the overpass. Anne caught up with me at 50th street and 137th. I took the walker by FC church. It was a scorcher. I hobbled along and sat down several times. I went East towards Sifton school, sweating like a pig. Then over to the back parking lot of Capital Place. My left leg below my knee calf area was really tight. There is a side cement pathway facing the park I took to the parking lot out here and onto 137, resting here and there. It was tough going getting the walker up the stairs. But by the end of the day I had 8,618 steps by 7pm. Other then my left leg cramping up on me, it was smooth going.
This week I have lodge on Thursday and Saturday is the "End of summer" event my employer is putting on at "Sherlock Holmes." Free food and 1 free drink. Should be a good time. Anyway, that's all for now.
yesterday was an interesting experience. Unfortunately, I also received some "Masonic education." This was in no reflection on Fort Edmonton Park (fep) or Freemasonry et al. It was an isolated incident involving some behavior from a brother on the way, which I won't get into, and not a representation of all Masons nor directed at me personally, and I'll leave it there. At the end of the day, we're all human beings. I wont judge anyone. Otherwise, my time at fep was enjoyable despite the heat. If there is a next time, I'm going to take a dial a bus and the train up to the lodge museum. The train back was good and I got 6k in steps that day. They got Craft beer at the cafe?
I have my track ready to go from private to public for tomorrow. I gained a few more subscribers as I'm now at 129 😀
Tomorrow my track goes from private to public and I'll be watching Ottawa/Edmonton for the rubber match from last week. Hopefully the Elks can keep this momentum going. Anyway that's about all for today.
even though it's on a limited basis. Yesterday I had ~ 15 friends and fam wish me a Happy b-day either through Facebook, by phone, or in chat, etc. I appreciate the birthday well wishes everyone. Thank you. Turning 70 is a milestone but I got here by default. 😂
Finally, my Fitbit Versa 3 came in my mail on Saturday evening. So it must have been sitting there in the mailbox since Friday. My birthday was yesterday. Perfect timing. Setting the watch up was easy. I still have some features I'd like to set up but I'm really enjoying this so far. This was a really nice birthday gift from my lovely wife.
Saturday I uploaded my video ^ I hope to continue to upload every Saturday even when and if work resumes ~ in September. Feel free to drop me a comment. All comments will be answered. I will have a track-up for "Songtember." I have had 6 months off and I need to get back into things. We all have bills to pay and needs.
This week Anne and I are planning on going out for our monthly outing. We're not sure where yet. Plus I have an early volunteer lodge event Thursday at Fort Edmonton park. I'll wear my mask in the meantime. Anyway, that's all for now.
to sort out our online rent payment. After a bit of a snag, we finally got it sorted out. I think. it was a real hassle and I'm still not certain I got this right.
I had given up my volunteer gig at Fort Edmonton park due to my partner having another unexpected situation forcing him to cancel. I called our secretary a week or so ago saying if somebody else can pick me up I'd be happy to pair up with him. I got a call from our lodge secretary last night asking me if I could pair up with our Chaplin for the 25th. It's 10am. Uggh. No doubt we'll be picking up some drive-through breakfast on the way.
Apparently, my smart watch is having some tracking issues getting here. If it's undeliverable we will get a refund. I've been doing some research on these devices and they have a life span of about 2-3 years not good. My 2015 iPod Touch still works just fine and does the job. If a refund is in the works for something else I'd rather get the Arturia mini 2i4 mini fuse 2Audio Interface (white) and it's in stock. The Mini fuse 2 has a USB-C and a USB A port plus midi and Loopback. I can get it in 5 days. Anyway, that's all for now.
dinner. We haven't been out to Capital Pizza in a long time. I hope to get my Fitbit Versa 3 watch for my birthday as we ordered that in early August. Well, it looked orange to me.
I promised myself not to do any impulse app buying but Motion leap for i0s looks really handy. I ended up buying the whole suite for cad $85. I'm good for the whole year. I'll be playing around with this a lot.
This morning I'll be making a call to my Doctor for a Dynalife Belmont. I can take the walker and after that get some Tim's. I'd go to the Northgate Dynalife in the winter. Anyway, that's all for now.
at the replica of the original Edmonton, Masonic lodge. It's been a custom to pair up with another brother to spend an afternoon answering questions. Dan and I were supposed to go on August 24th but he is being detained because of Family. Since I have no transportation, I might have to cancel. I sent our secretary an email saying if I can get a ride I'd be open to pair up with anyone else, any day except the 21st.
I remember when the Fringe fest first appeared here in Edmonton. I'm not much for taking in the theatre scene but there is a lot more than theatre. The first fringe occurred here in 1982 and I was living a few blocks away at the time.
Yesterday I was able to install the most recent Fl. Studio 20.9.2 update. A few updates ago they had a feature where a mic could be installed in the playlist track lane. This is pretty cool.
Looks like my weekend is freed up, which is good. And Saturday is the Rider's/Elks game. That and working on a beat for my channel are the two items on my agenda this weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.
open all week now. BBQ was postponed until mid-September. I was looking forward to it 😢
Earlier I got my Nintendo Switch connected to my monitor. I was playing Bulder's gate 1 again but I lost a lot of mussel memory. I have everything I need here to do some game streaming and this could be in the works soon. I could even add my own music as well.
For my birthday Anne and I are going out to an undisclosed location for a birthday cele. Hopefully, I'll have my Fitbit watch by then. Anne ordered it for me but she didn't ordered it from a location here in Canada. Anyway, that's all for now.
but so far I've had over 6 months off and this is getting ridiculous now. I'm going to ride this out until the last half of September. If nothing happens between now and then, it's not like I don't have options. However, my options are limited. I can't wait on this company forever.
I've got 2 Amazon orders coming this month: My Fit but Versa 3 smartwatch watch as a birthday present and some n95 masks. I'm looking forward to the watch most of all.
I uploaded another video to my channel and I was surprised that it had received 6 likes and 6 comments and 2 new subscribers as I'm on the road to 200 subscribers between now and the end of the year.
Not much going on this week. I'll be calling Alberta senior housing this week. Plus I'll be calling to arrange a ride to our lodge BBQ. That's always a good time. Our host always puts on a good spread. Anyway, that's all for now.
Anne made me a nice breakfast of pancakes. I had a great afternoon. I got out onto the balcony with my drink watching the street going by. Good times.
I missed the Elks/Lions game but it wasn't much of a game as the Elks lost 7-37. Now watch we're going to make the cross-over before playoffs and win the cup. 😂 That wouldn't surprise me.
As for today, I'm going to get a video intro for my next upload. I hope to get the video uploaded by the end of the day. Plus I think Jade Starr has a stream and I have no idea what Doug Woods will be doing stream-wise if anything. This week I don't have a lot going on except for Saturday's lodge BBQ if the weather holds. Anyway, that's all for now. Anyway, that's all for now.
Friday to healthcare Solutions and it was raining when I went out. As I was waiting for my #104, the rain slowly dissipated to a weak drip when my bus arrived. I couldn't get my compression stockings because Aids to Daily Living allows for 3 pair/year at the discount price, so I won't be able to get my 3rd pair until September 8th. But I got my measurement's done, and some breakfast at McDonald's. I was home before noon.
The Elks are in Vancouver playing an 8pm game against the BC lions. I'll be following that game tonight. Hopefully, we can win on the road.
Since 2019 I've been using the Pacer app to keep track of my steps since my 2015 iPod's health and fitness tracker is on the anemic side. It served me well for 3 years., but I'm tired of carrying my iPod around everywhere I go. Anne got so tired of it as well so she went and bought me a Fitbit Versa 3 smartwatch. It's on its way from Amazon and hopefully will arrive before my 70th b-day next week. Plus I can put my tunes on it like the iPod and the watch also has built-in GPS, unlike my old iPod. I'm expecting my new Smartwatch to arrive between now and the 26th of this month. Cool.
Next week: I got the lodge BBQ going on next Saturday. I'm working on a track for tomorrow. Other than that, not much else is going on. Anyway, that's all for now.
