on the Eastern front. In other words not much happening from Clareview North East Edmonton. The job has it's day to day challenges and obstacles of course but the learning curve isn't that bad.
The highlight for me today is after work, I'm watching the Oiler/Dallas hockey game for a bit maybe work on my track as I'm playing around with "Reaxtor 5."it's a cool synth package from my Komplete 8 series. There's a synth in it called Laser bass and I'll catch a bit of the game. Other wise it's a full working day for me. Anyway that's about for now.
Welcome to my Blog. Anne and I live here in Clareview Edmonton Alberta, with our 2 cats etc. This blog is about my life, rants, politics, books, music production, Sports, some gaming, Freemasonry and some WTF-ish moments that give me pause. Monday turned out to be better then I'd hoped for
especially since I was working on about 4 hours sleep from Sunday overnight. I felt refreshed going in but felt a little played out 4:45pm. After work I headed over to Audrey's and picked up my 2 recent acquisitions:
The book on the right is the Warhammer 40K Horus Heresy book one of the series.
Heading over to Audrey's it was overcast winds were calm and about -1*, which is pretty decent weather for us here in Edmonton for this time of year. I had good connections heading home as well.
Anne had a soup and sandwich waiting for me as I watched the afternoon news and channel switching between the Oiler's/Hawks game and wrestling. I caught the WWE highlights and their main event. Other wise I missed most of it.
Monday night's Coast show is a bit lame but tonight's show is about Planet X. Should be a good one.
This week, not a lot is going on. It's just work 5-9 and the only thing going on is the up coming Oiler game Wednesday night in Dallas. The way the Oiler's are playing, I can see another seat in the 2013 lottery. Even if the Oiler's get 14th place they could still have a chance to draw for the 1st round, again. Anyway that's about all for now.

Saturday was my day to relax and take
it easy. The highlight of my day was the Oiler's winning in OT. I also used Paypal and bought a VST plugin from Waves factory but I don't know where it's located in my Kontakt player. I have all day today to find it.
It's confirmed,Google Glass will be here this year but at a price of $1,500! Google made over $10 Billion in 2012, you'd think they could lower the price to something like $600. Apple is most likely working on their own version. I can't use this product because I have about 70% vision loss in my right eye. When Google cranks up the production of Glass I hope they have an upgrade to change lenses from right to left. That'd work and drop the price to about $500. This product has the potential to destroy the cell phone and tablet before it's third competitor enters the market. This is the next big thing.
A couple of days ago I came across this link to a Star Wars Lego X-Wing fighter. The kit has something like 1,558 bricks. It's got amazing detail. I kind of like the Lego Star Wars genre. I might even get a gaming console just to play this genre. Oh the cost to this kit is $200! Too rich for me.
Tonight on Coast, the topic is on Scientology. To bad we can't upload it to another form of media like iTunes. Speaking of which this afternoon I'm heading across the street to Future shop to pick Anne up an iTunes card and me that USB hub. Speaking about iTunes, I just went and bought my first song from the iTunes store: Weird tales from the Ramones: "Time bomb" by the Ramones. It was priced at .99.Most songs as of this writing are $1.29.
I think maybe Wednesday night depending how I feel I might head over to the Army & Navy in Londonderry Mall, as even though we're about to head into Spring in a few short weeks, I don't have toques for what's left of this winter. Besides I can get out have a bite to eat and a beer, the bus that picks me up outside the mall drops me right off by our place.
Good news bad news: Bad news I didn't win the $16M in last nights 6/49. Good news, nobody else did either. It means that Wednesday's draw goes to $21M.
Not much going on this week. I've got Monday night Raw and the Oiler game the same night. I like Raw because their long commercials are a great chance for me to catch the Oiler action but there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff as well WWE fans can catch on one's tablet or smart phone. Other then TV Monday, Shopping Wednesday, and On Thursday the Oiler's are in Dallas. All games on Sports net. Good stuff. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I got out of bed about an hour
ago. I went to bed with an abscessed tooth about 3am I feel ok now.
Friday I worked until 1pm and went down to Long & McQuade (LM) and settled my account. It means as I'm rebuilding my "credit rating resume" I can add that to the top of the list and I can open another account. I could have opened one yesterday but I couldn't justify doing that right now until after I'm more or less settled into the job. Maybe latter on in the Spring. At LM I picked up a clip on tuner for my guitar ($20) and a USB cable for about $10. Future shop was trying to sell me the same thing for about $30! The USB cable I bought because I thought my Fast Track audio Interface one was frayed some where along the length of the cable. I wasn't ready to go home too early figuring I'd by pass Anne and I thought, this would be a great way to kill some time take a ride to the end of the line LRT and face time her from my iPad. Despite the slight pixalation I got a decent connection from Century Park to Clareview. I had a nap on the train back as Anne said she'd meet me at Clareview station. At Clareview she managed spot me through the 3pm crowd as I gave her the bus pass. The other good news about paying for my Komplete 8 is I got about 50 Scene movie points!
Being new to the world of electronic clip on guitar tuners as I was trying to figure this thing out I went and broke the B string. A YouTube video showed how easy it was to restring an electric guitar but the bridge action on mine was slightly different. I'll be at LM after work next Friday to get some advice on how to restring & tune my little Fender. I should have bought a gig bag that way on the train into work next Friday I can bring my guitar in get some strings then bring it down. I'll probably do that this week after work and before they close.
The Oiler's are hosting Phoenix in a rare Saturday afternoon matinee down at the Rex. I hope they win this one befre they head out on this 9 game road stand.
After the game, I'm heading out to Future shop to pick up a iTune's gift card for Anne and a USB hub for me.
About my Fast Track Pro and why I'm getting this clipping. My theory was that it had to do with the cable. After trying out the cable last night I still got the clipping.
The tan usb cable is the one that came with the Fast Track, the silver one is the one I bought yesterday. The other theory is M-Audio often releases driver updates for their hardware and I'm hoping there is a recent hardware update from Avid. I'll be checking into that. According to the Avid driver website there are no new driver releases for the Fast Track. Next up is to check the forums. Also, the "clipping" or static applies when I utilize the new usb cable in my desk top PC.
Yesterday I received a call from Audrey's saying that the first of 4 from the Warhammer 40K Horus Heresy series is in. I'll get one of them on my way home Monday night. Anyway, back to the Oiler game, that's all for now .

I'm making some good
timing this morning.
Yesterday on the job I was marked in from 9-1 but at 12:30pm the file I was working on had been completed and it was lunch time. The floor had been vacated to the lunch room and I had half an hour remaining. I thought I was done. I hope I was and on the source I was using did I have to put my hours in? I'll know later on but today is a full day and on the new study.
Overnight the topic on Coast was about ESP and remote viewing. Now I admit I don't know a lot about "remote viewing" but it seems to me that 99% of it is guess work. I could be wrong but that's basically the gist of it. I drop out when Coast has topics like this.
Also, for me tonight, the Minnesota Wild are in town entertaining the Oil.This is why I'm putting a blog post together this morning instead of this evening.
Other then the above, I'm working today and tomorrow full time which is 7.5 hours. The only thing difficult about the job is my way to the office. I usually take the direct way which is off Corona station's escaltor pass by the Metro paper person up the ramp and over the grill work to a tough going sidewalk. it's an old sidewalk that this time of year is iced up (I'm bringing my cleats this morning.) and I hobble to the end of the block pass Starbucks and the Matrix hotel and at the 4 way I can see Subway across the street, take another ramp incline walkway and there;s the door to the office and I'm on the 3rd floor.
Update 12 hours later: I didn't need the cleats after all. I felt pretty good settling into the job. I ended up with 2 completions right away. I had 4 by noon closing on one just before we logged off. I had 7 by the time I had a chat with Anne and 3 more by the close of the day. That was 10 on the day for the 3 people we had. All this and I know exactly how much my check for the 56 hours I put in is for tomorrow morning. After work I went to the Subway on the corner of the building and I ordered a clubhouse sub and cookies and a diet cola to take home. I had half of the sub for my supper and my insulin. I feel pretty good, that was a good day today.
So in about an hour, it's the hockey game and I might doze off on the couch and have the 2nd half of the sub latter.
Tomorrow after work, I'm down to LM to pay my bill and I need another audio interface as the cable I have is screwed up. I wish I could just get another cable. I should check Future shop and they have A-B cables for $30 bucks. If I get the big check, I'll get the monitors, if I get the small check I'll get Machine. Simple decision. Anyway, that's all for now.

Now if I looked at the availibility board
Friday on the eve of the long weekend like I should have, I would have left from home about 9:30am for a 10:30am training session. But, I failed to look at the board and as a result, I headed in what I thought this morning at 8am, was my usual time of day. In other words, I lost an hour and a half potential sleep. We began a new study and we had a almost a 4 hour training session. Half an hour for lunch,we didn't get under way until about 2pm,making it for a short day. Works for me.
This one cracks me up: The folks at ‘LivesOn’ allows you to Tweet "beyond the grave." It's an app that collects RSS feed pertaining to one's Twitter profile, interests etc on their behalf and continues to send out Tweets long after as they say "kick the bucket". Click the link above for the full story. I like this.
The Oiler's dropped another one last night, LA got a lucky bounce on a rush and took a game tied at 1 with something like .46 seconds left on the clock sending the game to a 2-1 win for LA and got an empty net goal. The Oiler's put the effort in but it was a lucky bounce on the rush. Anyway that's about all for now..

So my
wife decides to go to "the truck" over here by the U-Haul. It's like those industrial park trucks that bring coffee sandwiches that type of thing. In this case she get items she can't get at Superstore across the street. She gets our sausage rolls hash browns other items cheaper, so it's worth it for her to go once every other week or so.
We missed the #11 bus and because it's running half hour Sundays we took the #182. We waited at Londonderry Mall and then she decides she needs a Albert's breakfast at 3:55pm when the Mall closes at 5pm Sundays. I went along with that. We we're going to wait for the #2. I felt ok with that. Then she decides she wants a Albert's breakfast.
The good news is in Sportcheck on our way to Albert's I noticed they have the real Oiler Jersey's. If I can find Ryan Smyth's or Hemsky's XLG, I'll pick it up. For $240 plus tax, that's a good deal.
Breakfast was good except they only gave me 1 egg instead of the 2. I'm not going in there for breakfast anymore. I like Londonderry Mall because on the way home the bus stops right outside our place. No busy street to cross after I've had a beer or 2 on a Friday night.
As for tomorrow, I'm not sure if I want to go to Happy Harbor comics or just go across the street to get my haircut but we'll see. Anyway, that's all for now.

This morning I opted out of going
to the preparing to be an officer course. I've held various chairs in my Lodge since 2007, and I've seen how the Lodge opens and closes and I have the work, I think I know how it's done after all these years. Based on that I opted out. I wish I knew about this Last week as I would have made it out to Commercial Lodge yesterday. March's meeting is penciled into my calendar.
If Happy Harbor is open tomorrow, I'm considering heading over to pick up that Marvel Legends Iron Man action figure as I'm trying to build a Avengers assemble roll call of heroes. The 6 and 8" are to big for my display. Also, I can get some Chinese food from the place a few doors down from Happy Harbor. Sounds like a good plan. So I'm glad I didn't go to that officer's training thing this morning. Check out this guys set up:
Today is Random act's of kindness day. If you know this and have opportunity try and take advantage of this today. The world could use as much positive energy as possible.
I'm not sure if Anne wants to go out today to Capital Pizza or do this tomorrow. If we go tomorrow ETS is running on Holiday scheduled. If we're going out later this afternoon then great. I prefer "Rose Bowl" Pizza but I'm not up to taking a bus a train and another bus on my Sunday afternoon. I think we go down to Clareview catch the #10 and out to 144th Ave. I can get myself a hamburger platter and a beer. In this strip mall, they also have Dairy Queen and "Giant Tiger." Giant Tiger is like a small department store but they have odd selections. I think they close at 6pm on Sunday's.
Hey, the Oiler's won a game last night! Wow. The best part about it was the game was a 6-4 comeback win. This win puts the Oiler's within striking range of the last playoff spot. If they can float around this area and near the end of the season and go on a wining streak and play meaningful games the 2nd half of April, they have a chance of making the playoffs. Anyway's that's all from me for today.

My day on the job yesterday began slow
and I did ok getting 2 survey's before lunch. After lunch I had 7 and I would have had my 10th but my contact had ducked out on me. I felt good leaving the office knowing that I'm doing reasonably well on the job. Not only that but this weekend is the Valentines/Family day long weekend. My favorite stat holiday only behind Easter. I felt good leaving the office and I caught my train back to Clareview. I had a laid back evening just on the computer all night. Anne called at 8pm. Other then that it was a quiet night
Seems asteroid 2012 DA14 which flies by Earth on today, will not be in danger of hitting us as its making a record-setting close approach, for an object of its large size (about half a football field). It will pass inside the ring of Earth's satellites, coming within just 17,200 miles of the planet's surface. More at CNET and Space.com <. This is a record breaking asteroid because there's been no other asteroid in modern times that's been this close. All we need is a gravity wave to nudge it towards Earth or maybe the asteroid to collide with some space junk and kaboom! .
This weekend if all goes well, I'm going to have some fun. I could get the big check, the small check or no check. If I get the big check, then I'm going to have fun, if I get the small one, then its home Saturday to watch the Oiler game and out to Freemason's hall Sunday morning for that officers training, then home to take my wife out for a Valentines day dinner if she's up to it. If that asteroid doesn't hit us. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Last night I was kind of watching this
program called "Fact or faked paranormal files" on Space. It wasn't bad. Once an investigation is underway, the team will talk to witnesses,
carry out experiments using the latest in high tech detection devices,
collect physical samples, and determine whether a case should be
debunked, or whether it's a baffling paranormal mystery that might even
put the team in danger. It's all in a day's work for the dogged
investigators of Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files. It's a decent show I have marked for Tuesday nights.
Tonight I have absolutely nothing planned but I'm considering sneaking out of here for Lodge. If I can get out of there by 9:45pm I might be able to get home before Anne. If I miss her call at 8pm I can always site I was having a nap or something like that. We'll see
On Coast tonight the topic is about ETs & Human Heritage, with Jim Marrs. I'm up at 7:30 this morning so I can listen in for a bit. Another reason why I want to subscribe to "Coast to Coast insider."
I'm still working through my Space Wolf Warhammer 40K book. It's a slow read but intriguing enough to maintain interest. It's actually pretty good and I see another Omnibus in this series coming out. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I was feeling a little under the weather this morning as I had
a lousy sleep last night. Hopefully I can get to bed by 12:30.
This morning I got 4 surveys as I'm getting stronger every day. I'm doing reminders tomorrow morning for the first half the day and surveys during the 2nd part but I'll get 34 hours this week and 25.5 from last week. I'll be glad to get my first check this month but I get paid by-weekly and it's a direct bank deposit, which is another first for me.
A thought occurred to me, maybe Long & McQuade (LM) might have the boxed version of the recent update Cubase 7 update. I did a search on their site and there it was from Cubase 6-7, $200! Excellent. Since I already have Cubase 6,this is going to be a great upgrade. If all works out ok this week or next I'll get my Warhammer Space marines book, lottery ticket, head to LM settle my account get the Cubase 7 update and take home Machine head over to Denny's for some lunch and a pint and over to Happy Harbor double back to the bus stop back to Corona station train home have a nap and have some fun. Anyway that's about all for now.

Lots going on this week.
Monday night Raw, Tuesday Oiler game, Wednesday Lodge, Thursday valentines day, Friday the beginning of a long weekend.
I’ve been having a bit of a problem with my right heal. It seems to dry up with crackling skin. We think it’s diabetes so I’m putting some Vaseline on it and covering it up with a sock. Hopefully that will help out.
My favorite board game Advance Squad leader seems to have a active presence on YouTube. Multi Man Publications most recent ASL offering has been one of their Historical modules called “Festung Budapest.” There is an un-boxing of this game and it’s a huge game. The only thing I don’t like about it is that MMP went and changed the SS counters from their traditional white on black to like every other counter in the German OOB. I don’t know why they did this and some of the comments about the SS counters not being their traditional colors put some players off. Even 3rd party ASL treatments keep their SS counters in their traditional color. The other thing about the game it’s like a $130 price tag. I’m thinking about buying this because it might have a limited print one.
Finally the Oiler’s won on the road. They are still in 9th place but I think this is where they will be all season. Roughly between 10 and 9th. Dubnyk was in net and he stole the show. Hall was called for goal tender interface and with his speed propelled him up onto the net and over. Made me laugh.
I’ve got a full day ahead today as I’m up at 7am and out the door at 8am. I should be home about 5:45pm. Next week I’ll be able to pencil in my own hours. 34 hours is full time. I’m used to 37.5 at my last job but that was including Saturdays. I’m glad I don’t have to do them anymore. Anyway, that’s about all for now.

I got out of bed shortly
after the noon hour and dialed in the Oiler/Wings game on TV. Surprise, Nikolai Khabibulin is in net. The Oiler’s were going to either lose in regulation or lose in OT anyway. My mood changed and brightened up: This is actually a good move by the Oiler Coach. Gives Dubie a break. As usual in usual form the Oiler’s began taking penalties. By the end of the 2nd period though the score was only 0-1 for Wings and they got that goal based on a 5-3 against us. Can’t blame Khabibulin for that. Nick Shultz from our D scored to tie. I thought, hey, this could be a good game after all. My hopes were high. The officiating was good so far. Detroit scored on the pp 2-1 on a screened play. We had 8 pp opportunities and couldn’t get the job done. The best player for the Oiler’s I thought was Nikolai Khabibulin! The outcome would have been the same regardless of who was I n net but Khabibulin made some great saves. The Oiler’s played their B game while at home the Wings won their 2nd at home while we dropped our 5th straight loss. The Oiler’s lost this afternoon because of penalties. Not blaming the officials, they kept everything more or less even. The Oiler’s also lost due to a better team. Simple as that. Tomorrow though is another day and the Oiler’s are playing in Columbus and that‘s a 4pm start.
Some sad news though yesterday when I called Anne she was all in tears because Skippy had jumped off the balcony into the snow below about half an hour before I called. This morning Anne knew Skippy would be under the maintenance shed over there at the Edmonton housing complex. That’s where a lot of stray cats hang out in the winter and under cement steps away from the wind. Anne, this morning went to provide some food and water for the 3 strays that make that place their home. Skippy came out after recognizing her and rubbed up against her. When Anne reached out to touch her she hurried back underneath the shed. Skippy is a very loving cat and even cuddled up with me in bed the other night. Anne’s going to continue to go out to feed her and bring her in to get warmed up and all once in a while. Her fear is in the Spring when she‘s going to get knocked up and produce litter. By that time or even earlier we‘re going to try and get her to the SPCA and the other cats there as well:
I‘m back at work at last. I‘m working a block South of Corona LRT. It‘s full time. I‘m doing research work (survey’s) and I‘m getting a bit more then what I was making at my last job plus I get evenings and weekends off. It‘s not a big phone room like the last one. There‘s about 10 stations and calling is a mix between manually dialing and entering data. I‘m basically calling small businesses. But it‘ interesting work and it‘s not selling. Also what I like about it my pay even though it‘s bi weekly it gets directed right into my bank account. Also the company I‘m working with has been around since the 1980‘s. I got the job from a previous co-worker I worked with about 5 years ago in the Baker Centre location. Anyway, we struck up a friendship and over the last few years I‘ve been communicating with him on Face book. He left me a private message saying he might have some work for me. I didn‘t know he was the boss until he invited me to take a look at their operation. I didn‘t need to send a resume by email or anything like that, it was, I went in had a chat got hired and I start full time Monday. So I went today and called HR from my previous place of employment left a message on voicemail explaining some details that I‘m breaking my severance package agreement and left my contact details. That‘s all done. The best part about this job is that every 300 hours or so, I get a raise in pay. My pay checks go right into my Scotia bank, perfect. My hours are 9-5 and I can pencil in my own hours and I get evenings and weekends off.
Anne left me with only 1 2L and that was about 70% full. it meant go without or make a trip to Superstore across the street. It was breezy but mild out there. I bought 3 2L of diet cola and that should last us until Sunday night. I'm glad I went out across the street to get that pop and it saves Anne a trip as well. I've been home for like 15 minutes now and I'm still sweating!
Other then that I didn't want to say anything about the job until I knew I had it. Now it's a question of keeping it and passing my 1st 90 day review. That's going to be the initial hurdle.
Sunday I have a rare Oiler game to watch for a 4pm afternoon game. So far it's been a great couple of days.
This week, on my plate it's just work but I'm heading out to Lodge Wednesday as one of our visitors is the Worshipful master of his lodge visiting us.Turn-about is fair play. I'm not having a pint or anythig. I should be home by 10:30-11pm a bite to eat then bed but that's still a few days away then the following Saturday I'm off at Commercial Lodge so that should be ok. Anyway, that's all for now.

This post is basically a recap from yesterday and what's
going on for the weekend.
Thursday was great. I did some banking, got my Warhammer 40K book. At home a bite to eat a hour and a half power nap get ready for Lodge. Part of being a Mason is visiting other Lodges. Especially in Cities it's easier as here in Edmonton we have about 30 Lodges between 3 buildings. A couple of weeks ago I paid another trip to a Saturday Lodge, where I made an announcement we were going to confer a degree. I met some great people at that Lodge and befriended an older Scottish fellow and invited him out to our degree. I learned a few weeks latter ours was cancelled. I screwed up my lines and made an embarasment of myself near the end, which nobody seemed to mind. This is the good part, the fellow I befriended was one of a district brethren and at the festive board he introduced himself and mentioned how I invited him to Lodge (even though we were suposed to confer a degree which didn't happen) so that felt good now that the guys in my Lodge know I'm out visiting. I had a beer some sandwiches. I was home by 10pm.
This weekend I'm going to take it easy. There's an Oiler game on at noon Saturday but I'll be sleeping until about 1pm
Anyway I have a full day today. Lots of stuff going on. I'll elaborate later, anyway that's all for now.

I've got banking to do later on today
and tonight I'm at the Lodge pay my 2013 dues and have a beverage. Sounds like a good time.
This is cool: i09 asks "Why the @#$% hasn’t there been a live-action Batman TV show since the ‘60s?" Good question. Personally I think it's because Batman to do it right costs way too much money to produce for to little return. Casting wouldn't be a problem but there is more money in the Batman movies then in TV. There's a lot more on this here:
I've got some banking to do later today and I'm picking up the Star Wars book at Audrey's. Maybe my book ordering guy will be there. I'd like to order that Star Wars X-Wing bundle. Sometime over the next couple of weeks I want to go to the Star War's "identities" exhibit before it leaves and I might go see this next weekend while Anne is at work.
Speaking of exhibits and events, Princess Diane's dress collection and artifacts are here in Edmonton. Not just the original wedding dress but other dresses etc. The exhibit is at West Edmonton Mall until early June. When Anne and I are ready to cash in for another movie,we'll go. She's more interested then I am.

It's all quiet
as there's not a lot going on at the moment.
The other day I cashed in on my big $5 win and got a bingo scratch n' win for $3. Anne played it and won another ticket. She cashed her's in for yet another Bingo scratch n' win and won on that for another $3 for $6. She was1 square away or something from winning $50,000! That would probably give give me what my last job paid me, for over about 3 years. Yeah, I'd take 3 years off with pay.
I read in today's i09 that the DNA match of Richard the 3rd might not be an open and shut case. The article firstly goes on to say that the story has yet to have been peer reviewed and that the DNA found might have (with over 500 years of history) been contaminated. Some are suggesting that the location matches the historical evidence of where Richard was buried. The cause of death was consistent with how Richard died etc. You can read more about this update here.
I'm considering Lodge tomorrow night and of course my own Lodge Thursday night. I have yet to visit the Wednesday night Lodge before ours before but 2 Lodge's in the same week might be a bit much, I don't yet
Ok this is not earth shattering or anything but on Saturday I'm about to make an announcement. This announcement has nothing to do with my blog or anything like that. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I cashed my
"big" 6/49 jackpot of...$5! First win for the year and because nobody won the big prize it goes up to $11M. Of course I reinvested in another quick pick.
I can relate to this story. English king Richard III mainly like Richard, I too have scoliosis but probably not as advanced as his. But today researchers have confirmed that it was Canadian DNA that matched the DNA of King Richard. The bones had been subjected to “rigorous academic study” and had been carbon dated to a period from 1455-1540. Richard was 32 when he died over 500 years ago. Read more here.
Tonight on Coast the topic is on Aliens & Synchronicities. I like stuff like this. I'll be heading to bed early anyway. Other then that, not much is going on. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday was notable
for 2 reasons: First, it was ground hog day and the hog did not see his shadow (here) which means we have an early Spring. Six weeks of winter instead of 8 but today sure felt like Spring. We‘re getting our March run-off a bit early. Also today marked the end of the penny here in Canada. My baconator combo was $9.75, including GST.
Hey, I won for the first time this year on the 6/49! Five bucks. My first win of the year. I got #15, #47 (including the bonus #) gets me $5! Wuu- Who!
I left out of here just before 3pm as I could see my bus approaching. The train hadn’t pulled out yet and I got a seat at the back of the last car. I pulled open my iPad and headphones and began listening to the Oiler’s/Av’s game. When I left the 3rd period was underway but there was no scoring when I lost connection in the tunnel at Churchill station. At Corona I got up to street level and over to Audrey‘s. They had a reading/book signing in the basement. I got my Warhammer 40K book, my book club bill said I‘m about the equivalent of 2 more “Space marine Battle‘s” book away from cashing in my points but I want to wait a bit more to save points for Robert J. Sawyer‘s latest release this Spring. After Audrey‘s I worked my way to Rexall and got a bottle of Pepsi (no diet in the cooler) and my 6/49 ticket for last night‘s draw. After a 5 minute line up later I was on my way East along 109th street to Long & McQuade. I made a bill payment and took a look at the monitors. LM can order me the 6“ KRK monitors in white but I‘m still looking at the Yamaha 8‘s. but the 8’s might be a bit over kill in my small space. They have a flatter response time then most of the rest and that plays into any producer‘s advantage. After LM I meandered my way over to Wendy‘s and got myself a Baconator/large fries and drink. Half way through my lunch I was a happy guy. After lunch about 5:30pm I headed next door to Future Shop to look around. I found the laptop I‘ve got my eye on. It‘s the i7 quad core 2.9 Lenovo Ideapad. At 8 Ram and 4 USB ports and a 750 Gb hard drive, this should do the trick but Future Shop‘s sale end today. It goes back up to $799, maybe when I get my tax return in May. I spent about half an hour at Future Shop After Future shop I headed back towards Corona station and thought about popping into BP’s for a pint and get caught up on the day’s NHL highlights but instead I just headed for home. I think my next LM payment, I’m going to head over to Denny’s instead have a pint with my meal and a block North I Happy Harbor Comics. I didn’t have enough cash with me today but that’s some thing to consider next time: Audrey’s, Rexall, LM to pay my bill then over to Denny’s around the corner from LM have meal and a pint and Happy Harbor comics is a block down the street and a bus to Corona station. Sounds like something to do every other week or so.
I had a great evening. I passed out a bit on the couch watching some of the Chicago/Flames game until Anne called. She’s at work for 7 hours because of the Super bowl game. This means, I’m holding down the fort.
As for today, I’m waking Anne up at 9am as she’s got to get out and be ready for work by 11am. She’s not a morning person. Welcome to my world for the last 12 years! Anyway, that’s about all for now.

I got out of going out for
anything today, which means I can get some reading time in. I have a nice relaxing weekend with nowhere to go,which suits me fine.
I had a hunch the Oiler's would lose in OT but they took SJ right to a shoot-out. At least we got 1 point and 3 points on the road and we go to Denver for a Saturday afternoon game. We're still in 5th place but lets see where we'll be in the middle of March!
So, Blackberry released it's new Z10 smartphone. I don't own a smartphone and if I did, I'd seriously take a look at this. I'd get the white 720P HD version. I've seen pricing around $799 street. It's an expensive phone without a contract but so is the iPhone and Galaxy note in this price point. I think I'd rather get a new laptop though instead of a phone. Anyway that's all for now.
