For months now I've been trying to

add my YouTube video's to my Facebook or Blogger page. I haven't yet found a YouTube app that does the job on Facebook, yet. I found a way to do it Blogger. So where once was "Currently reading": is now Jim Tube. I can make the thumbnail a bit bigger and when I get some of my own music I can post it on my blog and if anyone wants a some songs I can master a cd to get better quality and or put my songs on iTunes. That was one small victory today.

I'm looking forward to when I retire on full OAS and CPP and a little part time job for some pocket money to cover my Lodge dues and a book or audio cd or a food treet once in a while. In the meantime I've got about 3 years to go and on my finale year, I'm saving my "time out" so to speak during my "last" year to apply for EI until my full OAS kicks in.

Speaking about today in a couple of hours is the NHL draft in New Jersey. I wonder if the Oiler's are going to make any significant moves? I hope we keep our 7th pick but if we can get some of the big names to come here, that'd be great. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Having a great day although the only

sour spot as the Riders gave us another beating.

I read some more out  of Warhammer 40K and making some good progress. One of the characters in this book is named Gabriel and aparently if it's the same one shoes up in other Warhammer 40k novels. I've got 2 Warhammer 40K audio books and I'm picking them up after work Tuesday.

Ok, it's beginning to sink and there isn't a week that doesn't go by where one of the caller's on the phone or a colleague nice comments how I have a voice for broadcasting. Maybe I should apply for some voice over work. I wonder if I'd get a job. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Thursday was a bit on the slow side

but still a decent day.

My proline ticket is still alive as Montreal defeated Winnipeg in last nights CFL game in Winnipeg's new "Investor's Group" stadium 38-33. I have 1 W and 3 ties!

Hmm, in i09 yesterday there is this cool article about how Japanese researchers extracted a blood cell from a mouse tail and cloned it. It's very interesting to preserve endangered species. Here's the article.

After I leave the office, I'll have 3 days off over the Canada Day long weekend. Three days off. At my last job I got 3 weeks off with pay 3 times a year. Yet this is still good. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday was a decent day on the job

although the last 2 hours drags.

Tonight on Coast is about Astral travel and Edgar Cayce. Should be a good show. I'm not connecting the two but Aleister Crowley and Edgar Cayce were contemporaries, not that they ever met as far as I know but they each died within 2 years of each other.

Yesterday morning I began playing CFL Proline again but I'm not paying $4 every week like I did yesterday. If I did that for 19 weeks I'd be looking at over $700, with maybe a fraction coming back my way.

I love the July 1st weekend and it falls on a pay day as well. Sweet. I've got Smackdown Friday night and the CFL and the NHL draft and Monday night Raw. Life is good. Anyway, that's all for now.

I had a decent day despite the storm we had

rolling in about 2pm. It flooded some areas of the City but nothing like what they had in Calgary as the City is in clean up mode.

So is Edward Snowden a Hero or a Spy? If he goes back to the US, his days are numbered. He won't get even close to a fair trail before something "Ahem " happens to him. Right now Snowden is US Government public enemy #1. It's an interesting story.

I'm watching out for the NHL off season as the Oiler's look like they are going to make some significant moves to get bigger forwards. Also, to finally move Nikolai Khabibulin. The NHL Draft is on Sunday and I have a long weekend.

I've been doing some fascinating early history of the Order Templi Oreintis (OTO) "research" from some articles out of the OTO phenomena site. I had a link to this awesome resource on my other site before. The research I was looking into is on a intriguing fellow Rudolph Steiner. Steiner was a member of the the Theosophical Society in Germany and the research I was looking into is whether or not Steiner ever joined the OTO. Before Aleister Crowley took over the OTO the original OTO had a lot of European Masons getting cozy with the OTO. More Masons had a appetite for the Theosophical Society then the OTO however. More on this later.

I had a great evening as I finally figured out (Thanks to YouTube) how to work Native Instruments Battery 3. it works better in FL Study rather then in Cubase. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much was acomplished this weekend

I watched the Esks defeat the Lions and Chicago defeating the Bruins for a game #5. Chicago (I hope) wins tonight so we can end this disastrous season.

I didn't make it to the BBQ because I'm as far as the opposite end of the street (the other end of the city) I was more or less stranded and the LRT wasn't running so there was no way to ask for a on the way pick up from at Southgate from one of my colleagues. I did leave a message and will try to place a call tonight before wrestling and the hockey game.

Some residents in Calgary have been able to get back into their homes yesterday as they clean up the downtown core. Now it's Medicine Hat's turn. It's not looking good for them.

This afternoon, I'm running over to my bank to see why I got a NSF cheque against me from a pre authorized payment account that was a stop payment 3 days ago. I only found this out Friday night. Tuesday nothing much is going on. Wednesday I'm either at my ISP store to find out how my account was compromised. Now if it was compromised by someone other then myself, I'm not paying it but if I did something wrong, I'll ask what can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again and pay the bill Anyway, that's what my week looks like, that's all for now.

It's been a rough couple of days

but at least I have a full shift next week, which is good.

The only thing I got going on for the weekend is the Lodge BBQ I'm going to ask one of the guys if I can get a ride from North Town Mall by the transit station there. The #11 like last week will put me right there from Clareview.

What with no Internet connection on my iPad I'm focusing more on my Warhammer 40K book. I can read a page on  my morning commute and a couple of pages on my breaks and a couple on my afternoon commute. After the "Space Wolves" 2nd Omnibus has been on hold for a while, now I'm back into it. It's my summer read.

The flooding in Calgary is so bad it flooded the Saddle dome up to the lower bowl and wrecked the scoreboard that sat on the floor where the ice would be. The whole downtown core is flooded. It's probably one of the worst disaster's in Alberta.

Tonight, I'm watching the CFL Esks/Lions game and tomorrow night, it's game #5 of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs Boston/Chicago. With the BBQ Sunday I've got enough to keep me busy this weekend.

*Update on the CFL game at half time: Esks 17 lions 8! Good start for Edmonton: Anyway that's about all for now.

Here I am still not ready for

bed after maybe 5 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours. I had a good morning and had a completion at about 70% done when the responder backed out. I'm scheduled to do some training later this afternoon after I log off. Hopefully it's going to give me additional work, beyond July I don't know.

Earlier I figured out to put one of my YouTube video's up on my face book page. I think I looked a lot better with glasses on then without. It's a short video behind a parked ETS bus at Londonderry Mall as we're waiting for our #182. What I'd like to do is to have a YouTube video in a permanent spot on my Facebook page but this is a start.

The flooding in Calgary is increasing. Probably the worst they've had in a long time. it was brought up by a weather system from Colorado.

Early this morning when checking my iPad my wife got a iM from her sister. My sister in law had to put her beloved dog Brody down after 19 years. He suffered a stroke and received another one last night. Brody was blind and didn't move around that much. I feel bad for my sister in law. It's always tough to lose a member of the family. My cat Silky is 16 years old and. I lost Pledges and I hope I go before Silky.

So tonight after my bit of training I'm heading off to get a bite to eat. I might just get a Subway and take that home with me and catch what's left of game #4 of the Hawks/Bruins game. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Monday was

ok, not great but ok. I'm now back to mornings/afternoons, which is good because now I can watch game #4 of the NHL playoffs I think Wednesday and I think the Bruins will take the game Saturday night game #5. Also the Esks /Lion's game is on Friday night. It's another preseason game.

About half an hour into the 10pm Monday night Raw, we got a really nice refreshing thunder storm brewing. It's all over with and there's very little evidence of it now. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Sunday Anne and I

left the apartment about 2:30pm and caught the train at Clareview for a little fathers day outing. At Belvedere station we  got the #10 bus and over to Capital pizza but we went and did some shopping first at Giant Tiger. I bought a couple of golf style t-shirts for $10 each. Then we had our pizza and I had a Molson dry beer with my pizza. Good thing we got there while we did because it was beginning to fill up. After that we went over to Dairy Queen and I had a strawberry sunday and we caught our bus to Londonderry Mall and then home. It was a 4 hour outing but it was a good outing. We like going to Capital pizza because it's easy to get to. Anne took this of me from my iPad yesterday about 5:45pm. just behind Londonderry Mall. I'm on this knoll vantage point looking for our #128 bus off to my right.

The main thing I'm concerned over is do I have work in July with this company or do I need to explore my other options? That's the trouble with most research companies, its project by project. The project I'm working on now lasts until about the end of June, then what? I've got no "plan B." There's 1 ongoing project I've got a couple of feelers out there but no point of contact or anything. Yet, I don't want to be told at the last moment something like: "Thanks for joining us James, we'll call you if we have anything coming up." I don't want to be in that situation. Yet at the same time, I don't want to jump ship either unless I need to.

Not much going on during the week. The NHL playoffs are winding down and Sunday is our Lodge BBQ. We don't get a big turnout at this event. It's hard for me to get there because it's all the way out in the West end by Leon's on the other end of 137th. Anne doesn't like coming out. Most of the Lodge is off for the summer anyway. Anyway, that's about all for now.

My afternoon commute

towards the office was easy going. I got inside the office by 12:30pm and had a chat with the staff. The first part went by ok ending up with 3 TCOB completions and a nice comment by one of the respondents. I called Anne and worked out the shift. I had my lunch break asked super if I could leave at 8pm. No problem. I have enough hours working a full week. I went from working mornings afternoon, to working 2 new campaigns, having trouble with my ISP, it was a hard week.

After work I went and picked up the 8th Horus Heresy Warhammer 40k book: “Battle for the Abyss.” I asked if Audrey’s could order me a few of the Horus Heresy audio dramas as I want to try some of them. There are a few YouTube videos with excerpt’s of said audio dramas. The good thing about these is that they account towards my Audrey’s book club membership. I’m looking forward to my first CD.

After Audrey’s I went to Queen Donair and got a order of fries to munch on the train. I keep the bag in my bag and eat from there because if the LRT police catch you eating on the train it’s a fine. Seems they are looking for any excuse to look for fines. It wouldn’t surprise me if next they are going to fine riders for using their cell phones or hand held devices!

On my commute approaching Stadium I noticed the crowd in the stands in the new green and gold seats. I got home to watch the end of the 2nd half as the Eskimo’s in the 1st preseason game had the game in hand and I saw the last TD. Then close to the end a “Pick 6” The Riders took it to the end zone for a TD and the point after. Score was 33/24 Riders. Good thing it was just pre season contest. I’m not sure if the games this week were on Proline. I’ll look for them next week. After that I watched “Smackdown” Anne had rotisserie chicken from Superstore. I didn’t eat much.

Friday was a great day. Today, I’m working on my music and watching the 2nd game of the Stanley Cup finale. This is rare that we’re seeing a CFL game during the same time as the NHL playoffs. Sunday (fathers day) I’m taking Anne out for Pizza at Capital Pizza as we like to get a Dairy Queen ice cream for desert and shop at Giant Tiger. Then its back to the work week.Anyway, that's about all for now.

Just before bed this morning

something prompted me to check my mobile account for tablets. I was shocked to discover the bill I normally have which is about $21 suddenly now is $353! I got tech support this morning and they said best they could do is give me a discount of 75% off, which would still be over $100! According to my online bill it was $15 but they said this goes back to May. I tried doing some haggling but to no avail. On one of the heavy usage days it shows 57 times downloading 95.37. Each costing me $1.98 and this was at odd hours of the day My ISP was trying to say that billing tries to break up the amounts of data used at various times. So after just over a year I decided to close my account. I can still get wifi for my tablet at hot spots and there's several downtown on my way to work. There are alternative ISP's I can use but the $5 flex plan was handy until somebody hacked into my mobile account. So this ruins my credit rating not that it makes a difference at this point. It's not going to affect my home internet service just my iPad service. I will be looking at alternatives ISP tab plans.

Yesterday we had a sever storm calling even for at 1 point a tornado warning. The clouds were dark and ominous that afternoon emptying heavy rain. The tornado warning was downgraded from a warning to a watch by 4pm. On my 7:45pm break it was sunny outside.

My shift concluded at 8pm last night because of the flooding in Fort Mac where one of the studies I was working on occurred. Everyone else was working on a routine study which I wasn't trained on. That was ok because I got home in time to watch 2.5 NHL overtime periods of hockey. Next game is on Saturday and it looks like they are playing every 3rd day. If this even goes 6 games, game #3 will be June 18th, game #4 June 21st, if there is a game #5 it will be Monday June 24th. If there is a game 7 it could go right up until June 30th!

Anyway, it looks like a nice day out there. I'm going to get a bite to eat and get ready to go to my bank and then into work. Anyway, that's about all for now.

The weekends are so short

and I miss my other job with Xentel. Every 3 months due to "my seniority" the boss had to kick me out every 3 months for a week. All of it paid for and when it was a long weekend in there, I got paid for that as well but that was like after 12 years of being with the company. Fat chance that's ever going to happen again. I'll be lucky if I stay at this place for 6 months due to shortage of work.

The other day Oiler's boss Craig MacTavish (MacT) went and fired the Oiler's 6th head coach Ralph Krueger. I don't think Kruger was given a fair chance after the league went on strike, he had 6 moths barely even a full season after he took over from Tom Renney. Krueger has 2 years remaining on his contract. Krueger coached 48 games and MacT is now looking at Toronto Marlies coach Dallas Eakins and so are Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. This new guy might be what the Oiler's need moving forward. Maybe Krueger will get picked up by one of the above teams, who knows.

The other thing is as of August, I need 4 more years. If I can hold on for another 3.5 years, then I'm applying for my full pension and filing for unemployment insurance for the last 6 months until it comes in and put some savings aside for 6 months so it's like another 3 years in the workplace. I'll most likely will work part time, 3 days a week something like that.

I've got absolutely nothing going on this week. Other then our Lodge BBQ I'm having the summer (other then work-if I have work in July/August) off

Other then working on my music (I've got a 40 bar track I'm working on. I've got a intro/chorus/verse-middle-chorus/Bridge/chorus/chorus/outro kind of thing going on. The track is populated with drums, bass and organ so far. I made a talking part for my lyrics of me talking out my lyrics (not rap) just to put that in with the other parts of the music. Using my bullet strat guitar I'm just laying out power chords, sampling them into the project. The next major thing for my music is the studio monitors and I hope to get them later this month. Anyway, that's about all for now.

My intent was to go out about noon

to Lodge but I had a long busy week and already had 3 meetings. I'm glad I opted to stay home.

Occasionally I get asked, "What's going to be the "next big thing?" It's going to be Google glass. It's already in development just do a search for it on YouTube. It might take 5-10 years but cell phones as we know them will be history as other companies will come on board with their own versions of Google glass:

I'm watching a bit of hockey it's game #5 in Chicago. I think LA is going to win this one, taking it back to LA for game #6. That game will possibly be Monday night. Game #7 Wednesday night. The Stanley cup finale might not be until mid June by the time it's all said and done.

In my email yesterday I got a Black Library newsletter re-issueing "The last Chancers" Omnibus but it's in hardcover a the moment. I'm hoping to pick it up as soon as it's available in soft cover. YouTube has a few reviews of these audio dramas and including excerpts and I'm calling my local Games Workshop to see if they have them in stock, although I'm inclined to buy the Mp3's from BL. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Thursday, June 6, 2013

I could have stayed a bit longer

on the job but by 7:30pm, I was played out after 8.5 hours. Its not like I'm 40 or something. I asked to leave at 7:30pm and after logging out and all, I got home about 8:20pm.

I placed a couple of Lodge calls trying to set up my officers for 2013. I have 1 more vacancy but I could only reach 1 of my calls and I have a few options.

After that, I watched what was left of the Pens/Bruins NHL game #3. Game #4 resumes on Friday and it looks like the Bruins have a chance to to sweep the Pens. I mean you have home ice advantage and at home and a 3-0 commanding lead and almost every home team has won that game. I got a feeling it's going to be Boston/LA in the finale.

Today I'm out of here at noon until 5pm and it's hustle to get home and change and off to Lodge. That'd be my 3rd meeting this week and I'd like to go Saturday so I can put my affiliation petition in. Then that's pretty well it until September. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Tuesday I had half a shift

off at 12:30pm. At home I found out today I have a 10 hour shift. I hadn't put in hours like that in over a decade! Then I have 4 hours Thursday because of Lodge and from1-9pm Friday and (?) the weekend off.

Last night I went to Lodge down at Freemason Hall, which was nice to hear organ music in the Lodge for a change. I didn't get home until shortly before 11pm!

So I'm back afternoons/evenings, which means I can sleep in a bit! Anyway, that's all for now.

Last night

I decided to leave about 5:35pm and after about a 20 minute wait a bus (1 out of 5) possibilities finally limped along over the Manning over pass and limped along finally to Clareview. I still had a 10 minute wait at Rexall but my bus there came more or less on time. I arrived at the Lodge, about an hour since I left out of my place. Unbelievable.

Yesterday Hollywood lost Jean Stapleton best known for the role as Archie Bunker’s wife Edith on “All in the Family.” The early episodes were the best. Such a show by today’s standards wouldn’t cut it past the politically correct climate of today’s network climate.

Still with television, Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor of Doctor Who will be leaving the show after the Christmas special. I began watching the show because of him. Matt Smith has done a lot of work in the media and has written a number of Doctor Who books. About every 3 years lately BBC seems to get a new Doctor for the show. Despite Matt Smith‘s departure, I‘ll still be a fan of the show.

My meeting was more or less successful and I’m glad I went. I was home shortly after 9pm. So I had a pretty good night last night but it’s back for a full week for me. Anyway, that’s about all for now.

Sunday, June 2, 2013

I'll be leaving out of hereat about

6pm for my meeting at 7. I hope it goes well.

I had this memory, it's not significant to anyone but me but it's a memory that hasn't surfaced in years. Whilst growing up in my home town, I recall dad and mom and us kids visiting these people in Vancouver. Since they were barely an hour away from us I believe it was in the Oakridge area. I can't recall if they were cousins of ours or friends of Dad's or what ever. Our family was friends with the Reynolds. They'd come over to our place to play cards with mom and dad        drink beer that sort of thing but I believe they lived in Millardville not in the middle of suburban Vancouver. Who these people our parents drove us to, visit were, I have no idea. They had kids and we seemed to have got along with them. I recall they lived on the corner of some street and we had to climb these side stairs to get to a upper patio or something. It could have been the Reynolds for all we  know. I remember one thing Mr's Reynolds said as that kind of struck me as unkind. Maybe it was the alcohol talking, I didn't know but but she said something to my mom about me that I wouldn't amount to anything. I can almost hear  her as if she was right here. "He'll survive alright but he wont amount to anything." In a way she was right. But this wasn't at the location mentioned above it was mentioned at our place and after my back operation. The comments I think were based upon that and our economy at the time. I think to my feeble knowledge, that was the last time they were  invited to our place. I know it sounds like 2 different things here but that location and the Reynolds for some reason mirror each other. Like there's some relationship there. I didn't have a lot of friends before and or after the back operation.

A bit of history (long) In the early 1970's my main interest was wargaming and trying to find either a job or a place to live. In the mid to late 70's things stabilized a bit There were those 5 months in Calgary in 1976/77. I had that brief period between the time I got back to the Anderson place/Star Wars where I was waiting for my UI claim. Then Edmonton, where I remained ever since. For the most part in the late 70's living with my parents until they moved back to Coquitlam in the fall of 1979, I had always been working but in the early 1980's it was hard to find a fordable place to live. We didn't have the food bank in those days. Before I tried to live again in Calgary in 1981, for about 4 months, I stayed with Richard a couple of times at his apartment by the Jasper Avenue ravine, then again in the General apartments (across the street and south from the General hospital). Then I met Theresa and moved in with her for a couple of years. In 1983 I got injured on the job and had a good 6 months off but I was living a few blocks off Whyte ave and 91st ave. Then in the Spring of 1983 still working for the Army & Navy at the warehouse, I lived at 9544 155th street. That's where I had the basement suite, just a small room about the size of my office and where I watched the Edmonton Oiler's win their first Stanley Cup. That house is still there today. I stayed there until March 1985 and got my first apartment in a apartment building 9710 156th street. I stayed there for 10 years. Then I moved across the street to the Villa Maria apartment (I was doing some post secondary upgrading at the time with AVC-NorQuest) Then a few blocks North on 156th street behind the Saxony (Now Howard Johnson's) Hotel, then over to another apartment across the street from the old Jasper place legion. The small building. That's when I decided I had enough of being on UI and went to look up Rob at Xentel. I didn't stay long in the place across the street from the Legion. Next up I moved to about 101st and 119th behind the grassy knoll by the traffic circle. That's when I met Anne at Xentel and barely 2 months in that dive, I moved in with her and the rest is history. I stayed with Xentel until last December 12th as they closed the Edmonton office. I'd still be there today.

Looks like were getting a bit of light rain out there. I'm only out in it long enough to get from my place to the bus shelter and from Clareview upstairs to the train platform and from my bus stop across the street to the Lodge. I'll bring my Warhammer 40K book along too keep me company.

At the moment I'm enjoying my morning coffee. I had about 7.5 hours of sleep over night, listened to a bit of Coast before I passed out. Anyway, that's about all for now.
