You tube locked me out of my account, no cause for alarm. This has happened once before. No, the problem wasn't a Java update. All I did was just removed cookies/cache and back. Easy.
I got a bit of work this week. At the moment its day-by-day for shifts. On the way home last night I ran into my old supervisor from Xentel, Moe. I was getting off the train at Clareview and it was just a brief how are you chat. I see him on the train every couple of years or so. I have work this week but after that I'm not sure. I'll be looking for something more steady, 3 days a week and do my current job just 2 days/week but its a tight job market right now. Not that its a life or death struggle or anything.
All Canadian NHL teams have been eliminated from the playoffs in the first round! Wow. And the surprising thing this playoff season, is that in both conferences the 8th place team went and upset the first place teams. Calgary did a bit better winning 1 game. Looking forward to the CFL in a couple of months. Anyway, that's all for now.

Family day and Good Friday are
2 of my favorite holidays. Also, good because my wife gets time and a half for today and I get tonight and tomorrow off. I have a pretty good life. Plus lots of hockey coming up for the weekend.
I was watching The sound test Room earlier and Doug Woods was doing a live stream demonstrating his most recent synth: The Behringer Neutron. This is such an affordable box with so many options. On my wish list for this Spring is the Neutron, Arturia Keystep, and a Synth pedal by EH SuperEgo+.Totally cool. All of which can be synched up through my Novation Circuit into the iPad. Speaking of which I'm seriously thinking about upgrading my current iPad to the iPad pro before we break for the summer and retire our iPad 2. Anne has been complaining how slow the iPad 2 has become recently. Anne can have my 2017 iPad while i'll be using the iPad pro for music production. Sound slike a plan.
Yesterday after my 4pm appointment I headed out for the afternoon. I got word that I'm back for my 2nd shift on Tuesday and I wanted to go get my book at Audrey's. I took the #2 bus downtown and a bottle of water, I felt good. I got my book and rode the train back home and in for a pleasant evening. It was a good day yesterday. Anyway, Happy Easer everyone, that's all for now.

It survived 2 world wars
and 800 years of history when the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris caught fire yesterday. Workers even before the fire removed some priceless statues. Priceless artifacts were destroyed. Very sad.
The news of the day here in Alberta is the upcoming provincial election. The two front runners are the incumbent Rachel Notley of the NDP and Jason Kenney of the UPC. There's been a lot of mud slinging mostly by the NDP. Because of the advanced polls results won't be known right away, probably until Saturday at the earliest. There hasn't been an advance poll turnout like this since 1971.
I'm out there looking for work again. Its not like I don't have a job, its just work is so slow it feels like I'm unemployed. Today I'm checking to see how many ei hours i have and I'm calling about a job prospect and i'll be checking on Linkedin and Indeed. As for tonight, I'm following the election and watching some hockey. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been a busy week last week
lots of running around. Lots of cash going out nothing coming in. Might be time to look for something else but I'm going to see what's happening after the election.
This week is the Alberta election. One thing is for certain, I don't want four more years of the same. Too much NDP mud slinging. The UPC is to Right wing for me and the UPC is so full of internal issues. The Liberals? Yeah right..Not. What's the alternative Jim? The Alberta Party! I like the slogan, "Centre together." This election saw over 450,000 voters vote in the advance pole. We did that the other day. Elections Canada allowed voters to be able to vote anywhere in the Province of Alberta. The problem with the advanced polls is that the election results (apparently from media reports) won't be finalized on April 16th. I'm not sure about that. I'm hoping that I'll be back to work right after the election.
I've been on Facebook a lot lately over the last couple of months. Mostly to get a laugh and to share things with friends. Anyway, that's all for now.

The open toed compression
stockings were causing me some grief. They looked like they could cut off my circulation more then anything. They don't normally have returns on these stockings but I was lucky they did because I normally get the closed toe kind. At $24 3 times a year is something I can live with.
After dinner tonight, we're going up to the Clareview Rec centre to vote in the advance polls, and I'm going to use the bike for a few minutes. Apparently they've been having long line ups at the advanced polling stations. Those votes wont be in for a few days until after the election.
I got a call from the office and it looks like "we could" be going back to work after the election next week. For how long its not known. I'm thinking work could be sketchy until the end of July. Anyway that's all for now.

Its been pretty busy up until
yesterday. Tuesday I had an event to go to Wednesday a Doctors appointment, Thursday, Lodge. Last night I just relaxed and took it easy I was going to fast Thursday night for blood work yesterday. I didn't plan that very well.
The main project this weekend is to get an expanding font logo for my You Tube channel somewhere in the lower portion of my obs screen. I'd actually like to have it where the logo "Jim Shannon on Sounds" (2 syllables/blocks) enlarges to its current state on the screen and dissolves. That's pretty advanced for me I'd also like to have it where my logo comes in like a template. Not sure if obs is that advanced yet.
In a "checking in to the office" call yesterday the boss said we have a project around after the Provincial election. It means we have something. It doesn't mean have steady work, it just means we have something. It could be one pay period, or work to last until the end of July. Anyway, that's all for now.

Seems that since I began a water
diet, I've got a bit more energy and I'm less thirsty. I still have my daily coffee and crystal light at meals. I think its the drinking of so many fluids that contributes to stomach expansion/weight gain. Not drinking water alone. Processed foods are a main contributor to weight gain and high carbs. I'm still 80 pounds over weight. I'd like to go on a low carb diet. I've been hearing that potato's are huge carb contributors.
So now we know Mick Jagger is going in for heart surgery. Its amazing that at 76 he's still on stage moving around like he's 30. I should be so lucky I can move around like I'm 50 at the age of 70😃
For years I've been going to the Dyna Life lab on Jasper Ave. I've never had a problem until today. My Doctors office is in the same building 1 floor down. I was on a 12 hour fast. When I went to the lab yesterday afternoon, they said they have no lab form on file for me, my Doctors office was supposed to have faxed it last Thursday. The lab office closes at 3:30pm. So I had to double up to my Doctors office and they gave me the form and I went back downstairs. They said there was a 75 minute wait time. That's kind of strange. This was at 1:30pm. I didn't want to wait in case after waiting they say something like, "Our office is about to close, please come back again." Normally, I'm waiting 10 minutes and I'm in and out. I didn't think until I was on the LRT home I could have booked an appointment right there. When I got home I called their central booking line but it was a busy out of town #? After all of that I began looking for another Dyna Life location. They have a Dyna Life location at Northgate. Its just one bus ride there and they close at 7pm. Much better. So now I'm going to call the Northgate location this morning if they can call their downtown location and fax the lab form to Northgate office. Should be easy. Anyway, that's all for now.
