yesterday was the first time since the emergence of Covid 19 I had interest into going into a store. I needed a new computer mouse, as the right click button didn't work. So I went across the street to Visions and they have instore pickup. I noticed these see through shields they had installed. I got my first wireless mouse and it worked fine.
This morning however in my zoom meeting my face was mostly chromo keyed out. I'll be playing around with those settings over the next few days. I'm not sure if the chromo key is because of the blue tooth dongle that came with the mouse or what? No chromo key affects in Streamlabs, so that's pretty good.
This is an interesting Covid-19 graphic:
The above image was from yesterday. Sadly most of the deaths were from long term senior care centres. The surprising stat above is that almost 90% of the cases since the pandemic, have recovered. I'm concerned that although I might have been spared the 1st wave, can I survive the 2nd wave? That's the 64k question. Anyway on that note, have a nice weekend everyone, take care.

I'm posting more video's now to my
you tube channel then before. That's one good thing about lockdown but at least phase one of Alberta's economy is opening. So, I'm just making beats, having a good time.
Hard to believe that it was 30 years ago Sunday that the Edmonton Oilers won their 5th Stanley cup in 7 years. I don't have my 1990 diary handy but most likely I was working that night. Speaking about the NHL there is some talk that the NHL could resume play this summer. There's a lot of moving parts here. Something about Hub cities and a 12 team/conference to either finish off the 11 games remaining, or just start the playoffs. I'd like to see 3 on 3 hockey. Not sure how that would play out though.
Still no word about work. I think we're shut down for the summer until October or so. Other then my once around the block walk, most of my time is at the computer. Anyway, that's all for now.

The other day I ordered my
free 30 day trial for Output's "Arcade" subscription synthesiser. This vst is a pretty good deal. Its $13/month but even doable for me. So I've been messing around with it for a bit today. Since today was a wet and rainy day, may as well stay inside and get things done.
The National news was saying that for all the Covid-19 cases tested positive, most people that died had low deficiencies of Vitamin D. Anne and I have been taking vitamin D daily. Research is underway and results of that study will be made public in the fall.
Our Robin friend nesting and her mate take turns in the nest so they can forge for food. Without disturbing the nest Anne took a photo of 5 blue eggs. Its been unusually cold for this time of year and we're expecting more rain for this weekend. Hopefully the eggs will hatch soon as its been 14 days since she's been there but maybe its 12 days until the last egg has hatched. Anyway, our spirits are high even though we have our marital spats, we're still okay around here. Anyway, that's all for now.

After a couple of days
I finally this afternoon got my Fl. Studio midi keyboard to work. I had Fl. all set up before but I guess I forgot how to put everything back together. This time around I'm ended taking a "snapshot" of sorts so I know how to reconstruct all the connections and inputs and outputs. Also, Saturday night I ordered from VB-Audio, Voicemeeter (not a typo) Potato. Its a virtual mixer that connects my web-cam Windows sound etc. I thought there was a mistake in downloading the program because I didn't get an installer. I sent tech support a note about it but after 2 days got nothing. They have a Facebook page. So I got there then I found their chat box. I sent another message. Long story short, I managed to get the software installed. So my two victories today. Here's an image of Voicemeeter:
At first Anne and I were going to go out to Capital Pizza. We like this place. Or used to. What with this pandemic underway and all the only going out I want to do is just on my walk. Anne suggested she'd go out and get take out as Capital Pizza is just one bus ride away. Great idea! I gave her the cash and two hours later she comes through the door. After about 2 bites in the pizza was so tough it was I was able to get through half of it. What a waste of $35. Our favorite place was Rose bowl just off of Jasper and about 117th across the street from the old TD bank building. Rose bowl closed down some years ago. Royal Pizza is still our favorite place to go but every time we go I'm waiting over half an hour while Anne is shopping at No Frills next door Plus Royal is on the South side just a block away from the old Army & Navy department store. That closed down there as well this month. Sigh.
So, in closing things off here, we're just enjoying the summer off. I haven't worked in over 6 weeks and it doesn't look like we're going to get any work, anytime soon. At least this month anyway. I'm not holding my breath for anything to happen work wise even for June and if nothing is coming by for June that'll be it for the summer. I probably won't get back to work until October, if that. Anyway, that's all for now.

Over the past several days I've been
struggling with getting Streamlabs recording my daw screen, Voicemeter banana, and getting everything working together. My problem is recording these settings so they don't need to go through this again. I got my screen recording working, but I can't use my midi controller like I did the other night, sigh.
I was up early for my band of brothers breakfast group. Then about 5pm I went for my walk. I got 4,000 in steps late this afternoon. I had a Nice evening but that's another matter. Anyway, that's all for now.

And we're back
yes, yes. Over the weekend, I bought Morfverb. It was on sale at an introductory price. Then I got an upgrade for my Real LPC guitar emulation for $75 from Music labs. So I've been mucking around with those working on a Dub Reggae truck I also bought a couple music apps as well.
In the odds 'n' ends department, I've been going out walking usually about 3-4k's worth of walking when the weather is good enough and of course chatting with my friend Frances. What is it with me and blondes, I have no idea. She's got a house in the West End with her and her 2 cats and a roommate.
Other then that not much going on. We're paying bills, keeping calm, practicing social distancing outside of the house. I haven't heard anything from work yet. We might have one more project before summer but I doubt it. Anyway, we're all ok around here. Anyway, stay safe everyone. I might have another post on the weekend..

I'm enjoying my time off
And I'm going out for a walk just about every day. Yesterday I was in a group Zoom meeting, which was not only educational but it also gave me a chance to catch up with all my lodge colleagues. Everyone seems to be doing well. For the most part, I'm paying off bills and hunkering down.
Wednesday the toilet bowl began to overflow as Anne was struggling to keep up with baling. She yelled for help. I took over duties while she went down to the caretaker and came back and (of course me not being a plumber) managed to fix the overflow for a bit. Caretakers sent the plumber over with an auger. It didn't help matters that we have the
original toilet from 1977. The plumber said the pipes were clogged up buildup deposits over the years. Yeesh what a mess.
Over the last few days we've been observing our Robin friend, that has made a nest in one of our hanging plant planters. I take a couple of looks once in awhile to make sure there are no preditors disturbing the nest. Speaking of mom's and nests (in case I don't get to this blog until Monday), I'd like to wish all mothers a happy mothers day, even if your just a pet mom. "Happy mothers day."
I'm keeping busy over Skype chatting with my friend/colleague from work, usually every night after midnight for a few hours. Frances and I have known each other since about the time Anne and I got married. It was Frances that introduced us to each other. This the 3rd blonde friend I've had in my life. The previous 2 betrayed me. Do good things come in threes? I don't know.

Not a lot going on
doing some music production stuff. At the moment, I'm working on a Reggae track from various loops, samples etc. The fun part is in the arranging. After that its adding eq and other effects. I might add some folly and vocal's in there as well, then some video editing before uploading it to You Tube.
Other then going out on my daily walk and the above, not much else is going on. Its been 4 weeks now since I last worked but that's ok. All we do other then the above is just stuff around the apartment. Last Friday however the telephone headset came in and it works well, so when we get another project I'll be better prepared.
I almost bought an Nintendo Switch earlier this evening at Walmart and a wired controller but Anne reported back saying the Switch was sold out. I'm not about to pay $450 US for a refurbished or a used one on Amazon. Other then that, its been slow going around here. Anyway that's all for now.
