I haven't worked since

the end of January this year and that's a long time. Yes, I mentioned this recently. So far the company isn't asking to pick up their laptops etc. Would this indicate the company is done? I hope not. The worst of it is, by this time last year we were working until the end of June. If that's not enough to give me pause, I didn't get any work until the end of September 2021. If last year is a good indicator, of this year and work isn't coming until late September, that's over 7 months of lost income. Each year is different and with the cost of inflation etc, work in this industry seems to be on life support. Fortunately for me, I get a bit of an allowance so I'm not exactly hurting. Not that we're not feeling the same kinds of pressures other households are facing. We most certainly are. Anne says "enjoy the time off." That sounds like good advice. At least she is working.

Last night's game #4 of the Stanley Cup game went into OT. Anne distracted me for a second and when I returned back to the screen Ave's were celebrating. What the heck? With that win, the Ave's are leading the series 3-1. I'm pulling for Avalanche because the last great NHL hockey dynasty was the New York Islanders, under the great Mike Bossy. Also, it was the Edmonton Oilers that prevented the Islanders from getting their 5th Cup. Lots of hockey history here. Game #5 is Friday night.

At the moment we're getting some heavy rain. We're going to appreciate it when it gets like +34 next month. 

I got the last breakfast meeting to attend on Saturday before the summer break and resuming again in September. Anne gets me a Tims breakfast to take along which is nice. Other than that not much is going on Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm having a good fathers day

Sunday. We're not much for going out doing the family thing, other than going out to eat but we did that last Thursday. I did watch a couple of hour-long streams earlier.

I uploaded my latest video. Just go to my channel to watch it if you want. The link to my channel is in the top left icon of this blog. My channel is sitting at 114 subscribers. I'm uploading 2 video's a month on average. 

I'm having trouble though getting a Giff (animation) file image to mask (transparent) to add a bit of spice to my uploads. I've got one source but they won't accept that file type. They will for MP4. Maybe that's what I need to ask. 

Not much going on this week. I'm watching hockey and I have a breakfast gathering Saturday morning. Basically, that's about it. Not much going on. I've got a couple of chats with the same person this week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday Anne and I went out

to Canyon Grill. We took the walker with us. The #54 bus is our favorite bus to take from Clareview West because once it gets on 137th Ave, it's just a straight line to Northgate. This was our 2nd visit to Canyon grill. We like it. I had the beef noodle soup to start and the Hot hamburger, diet pop. Anne had the all-day breakfast but her eggs were cold when they arrived because they cook them first. I also took along my step tracker in my pants pocket. Our whole outing was a good four hours there and back. My dinner was $25 including tip. 

I felt comfortable with the walker on the way back from Clareview. When we got home I had ~ 5200 steps. I hadn't had that many steps since we were at IHOP in September. I ended up with over 6k steps on the day.

Anne just left out of here to Fort Road Bottle depot then over to get us A&W for dinner. Tomorrow if the weather cooperates I'd like to go to Highlands Long & McQuade to see if I can get my item on another account. This is on my way to Kingsway mall to a place called SC Sports closet. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm having a decent weekend

as I was out having a breakfast meeting in the morning. I had a power nap in bed for a while after. On the couch, as Anne was on the job in the other room, I settled into watching game #6 of the NHL Rangers/Lightning game. In the finale (which begins Wednesday) it's Tampa and Avalance. Denver has home-ice advantage. This should be good. I had another nap on the couch until the game.

I had a great Saturday night. About 3:30am I took a sleeping pill Anne gave me and I had a good 8 hours of sleep. I was preparing for my next track using Korg module and SDK drums to give it context. I want to mangle module with Eventide's Crystals. Should be fun. 

We had some active weather at about 4pm. I was watching this fascinating YouTube Timeline documentary on Beatrix Potter founder of UK's National trust. Great story So tonight, more prep work for my video. Anyway, that's all for now.

My YouTube channel

Just keeps growing. My channel is at 108 subscribers. I'm 92 away from my goal of 200 subscribers between now and the end of the year. My new goal is to have new original content released once a week.

It's been a long week but I've been watching some hockey. Even following the New York Rangers/Tampa Bay Lightning series. TB is leading 3 games-2 best of 7. I'm thinking the way this series is going, it's going to be Colorado Avalanche and Tampa. 

Telus World of Science often has interesting events in the City to attend. The newest one opened yesterday called "When we went to the Moon." It's an exhibit put together in collaboration with people from Nasa. Admission is $33.25 for seniors. I'd like to see this before it closes, I think In September. Anyway, that's all for now. 

The Oilers got beat out in

4 games playing the Ave's. The building blocks are in place for next year. Ken Holland has got some work to do this off-season. All credit goes to the Avalanche. What a team. 

Not that I'm complaining much but this year for my employer hasn't been all that good work-wise. I haven't worked since the end of January. We usually have work in May but in all the 5 years I've been with this company, there haven't been no projects I can do whatsoever for May I'm going to wait and see what the summer brings but if we don't get anything in October, I might have to explore my options. Anne says I should enjoy my time off. I could if I had another $100 to work with/month. I am getting a bit bored here though.

I uploaded another video to Jim Shannon on Sounds. Trying out a Grime-type beat. I have a new subscriber. I'm now at #105😲 I'm getting somewhere. 

Just having one of those laid back days

where not much is going on. Anne is doing laundry. Not much going on this week. I'm watching a possible elimination game for the Oilers tomorrow. Tuesday I want to make an effort to go out to lodge as I never made it to lodge my Thursday. There might be a game #5 Wednesday. There's an Elk's/BC Lions CFL game Saturday. Other than the lodge, not much going on. Anyway, that's all for now. 

Yesterday FCC had an Oilers

launch party. Lots of free pop and chips, which was nice. Oilers lost 8-6 but admittedly their defense wasn't good. There's Eastern NHL hockey tonight. Rangers/Tampa. 

We're officially into June and it doesn't look like there will be any work lined up for this month. Summer is usually slow in this industry anyway. If we don't have any projects between now and the end of the year, it means my pension will be a lot better next year.

I've got an open day today, which means I can work on my next video. Tomorrow night I'm in lodge, and Friday is the Stampeders/Elks in a CFL preseason game. Then Saturday game #3 Ave's/Oilers. We're ok here. Anyway, that's all for now.
