I last posted a week ago

Sorry about that. Last week was busy. On Monday I had my staff party to attend. On my way there, I popped into NorQuest College to see if an old friend of mine still worked there in Admin. I hadn't been in NorQuest since it was AVC late '90s. I'm surprised staff still remember Ellen. We were at "The Parlour downtown." Very nice. I had truffles mixed in my ravioli sauce. First time I ever tasted Truffles. We just had a small gathering Four of us.  My higher-ups got me an Uber ride home. Very nice.

On Wednesday I had a Doctor's appointment. Back downtown. My Doctor is retiring next August. He shares space with 5 other Doctors. They are all retiring in August 2024. I requested he fax a referral to our NE PCN.

Thursday Anne and I headed out to iHop West. It's so expensive to eat out these days. Including the tip, it cost me $53 for the both of us.

Friday my Amazon order came in. I ordered the Akaso Brave 4 Action cam. The only thing I don't like about it is the sd card slot is hard to remove the card in and out.

Today I got my video out using my camera. I really need to annunciate my speech as I'm not as clear as I want to be. Anyway, that's all for now.

Finally a bit of a break

for 3 weeks. More like for 2 because this week I have 3 outings. Tomorrow our staff Christmas party at an undisclosed location downtown. Wednesday back downtown for my Doctors appointment. Thursday, Anne and I are on our monthly outing. Then after that 2 weeks off with nowhere else to go. At least the weather is holding good. Anyway, that's all for now.

I was able to get 4

completes last night. This is a 20-minute survey. If I have somebody who doesn't have to explain their answers,  I can get it done in ~ 20 minutes. I made a lot of hard callbacks as well. I'm looking forward to when it's Saturday and I get 2 weeks off.

The time off will give me more opportunity to study for my upcoming Most Excellent Masters degree, in March. Plus my usual video uploads for my YouTube channel.

This last video wasn't that successful. My most successful video this year was this one. In case you missed it. Anyway, that's all for now.

We began the new work project

or rather I did Friday. The crew we're already on the project Thursday at Lodge. This survey is long. but it's not that complicated. I got 2 completes on my first night.  We had a short shift on Saturday because the fish we're not biting and Christmas is just around the corner. We'll be breaking on the 16th until ~ that first week in January.

I took this image moments ago from my iPad. It's not that cold out there. We're about -4. What you're looking at is Capital Place. Our apartment is at the North end of building A. If we had a North Window we'd be able to see 137th Ave. If it was for the icy ground conditions, out there, all one would need would be a T-shirt underneath a hoody.

Yesterday I published another video too my channel. I'm using Launchpad and Relics Wave. Not sure what I'm going to do for this Saturday. I bought a cool step sequencer from XLN Audio. The last I purchased anything from this company was when I first got into this hobby back in 2011. When I bought "Addictive Drums" from Axe Music across the street from the old Coliseum building.  The new plugin is called "Life" and it's a sampler, beatbox, and sequencer.  I bought "Life" from Plugin Boutique. A bit pricey at C $155. Anyway, that's all for now.

Working out the last bits

of the project Wednesday night before I broke off last night. Some things went wrong, some went right. Some were embarrassing for me. Nobody cared. I screwed up but not because I did it on my own

New project today. I know the title. The crew was working on it last night. I got my pay and paid off a good portion of a couple bills.

I bought a cool new plugin for the PC by XLN Audio called "Life." It was at an introductory price, so I picked it up.

This weekend it's work tonight for 5 hours. I'll be following the Oilers game last hour. Saturday from 10-3pm and all week.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Sorry about that

but my last post intro wasn't written very well. I only noticed now 😯

I have an 8am meeting for about an hour and a half., and then back to my my home office to log in for the job. The project wanted us to do an extra 100 completes, but there's no way if that's a hard target with 3 of us calling. There could be an outside chance we might be able to do this, even at 15/day. Flow is 6 and I got 5. That's not bad for a Friday night.

We got the tree up and I'll try and take a photo over the next while after work, or during my break. Anyway, that's about all for now.

For much of western

Canada we're in an El Niño year but our last El Niño was in 2015-2016. This is our next 7 days:

-4 isn't exactly cold here in Edmonton. In a regular winter, it'd be -16* C with a -22* wind chill Yesterday we got up to +2.

The job is going well. Before yesterday I made flow-rate 3 times. We're doing 2nd round calling. On day 8 yesterday I got 5 completes and made 200 calls. I got several people bailing out on me. The second round of calling was at the halfway mark of the shift. It was slow-going

Still messing around with Procreat Dream. I'm trying to figure out how to render an animation to PNG so I can overlay it on an existing video.  Anyway, that's all for now.

I was concerned with worry

for Thursday night but when I got to Highlands Hall I breathed a sigh of relief. I finally took my Royal Arch Mark Master's initiation. It wasn't easy because I was on my feet for most of it. My next initiation will be in March. I have enough study material and time for that.

It was tough sledding for me this morning on the job. I logged into the wrong project 2 calls in before I realized this. Usually, the current project is at the bottom. I quickly got out of that and informed Super. I also messed up on a postal code. They had augmented the mechanics of that. I had the right idea just the wrong process. I'm not good at doing morning calls. I had one complete for the first half but I was able to rally to get the flow rate. I hope I redeemed myself a bit.

Over the past few days leading up to "Black Friday", I bought "Procreate Dreams." It's great for 2D animation. Not sure how this is going to improve my videos. This week I'm (apparently) working the whole week 4-9. If all goes well, we could be done by Friday. I hope. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday night is getting closer than ever

and I'm looking forward to expanding my Masonic career and taking it to a whole new level. It all comes together on Thursday night.

In the NHL if a team isn't playing 500 hockey by the U.S. Thanksgiving day, they won't make the playoffs. That means they have to have more wins than losses. The Oilers lost both games in Florida over this weekend (Monday included) The teams that have played 500 hockey historically 77.5% of the time go on to make it to the playoffs. It's not foolproof and anything can happen, so far stats don't lie.

Looks like we're going to have one of those winters where we won't get any snow by December. That's going to make this winter shorter. ANyway, that's all for now.

I went to my mens

breakfast thing this morning. It was good. My lodge brother showed up. I wanted to go get my Flu & Covid shot at Shoppers Drug Mart across the street here. My brother said he was going to Superstore anyway and dropped me off at Shoppers ~ 425 feet away. I invited him out to the event I'm having on Thursday.

The Pharmacist gave me the 2 shots and I mentioned how I normally get my meds at Walmart up the street. He suggested since I'm across the street why not transfer my account with Walmart to Shoppers. it makes more sense because Shoppers closes at midnight 7 days a week.. Plus if I need cash back, I can get a max of $60 Shoppers and $40 Superstore. Cool.

This weekend is Grey Cup weekend. It's Winnipeg (West) Montreal (East) in Hamilton. I probably wont be watching but I'll be following. Still sports related, The Oilers were in Tampa this afternoon. The matine` games haven't been very kind to the Oilers. They lost 6-4. All in all, it was a good day today. Anyway, that's all for now.

Things are starting to pick

up around here. Work resumes on Tuesday, plus I have a special event next Thursday.  Looking forward to that one. Good thing I keep a calendar.

Prior to email, we used to send story submissions in via hard copy. Turn-a-round time was measured in weeks, often months. Today most markets in my genre have their own submission process. I got 2 story submissions rejected (same story) within one week.

Since things are going to get a bit busy around here next week, I'm still aiming for 2 updates here/week. The best way to contact me (if we know each other) is to send me a Facebook message request. Even if you have taken a break from me in the past, you are still welcome to contact me. No hard feelings. I don't bear any grudges. I'm not that hard to find. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much going on since my

last post. We're Just recovering from this cold & flu. Most of this is behind me. Anne is still struggling with hers

Still no word about work since our last project in October. I heard murmurings but no specifics. Not that I'd report any details anyway.

The Oilers finally won one last night. 4-1 over the Seahawks. The 2nd period was so boring I dozed off on the couch for a bit.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, November 8, 2023

I ordered the new Windows

keyboard Sunday and got it Monday Helps to have an Amazon affiliate an hour away. I ordered the Perixx PERIBOARD-215B US, Wired Keyboard Ultra Slim Scissor Keys. What's cool about this keyboard is it has x2 USB C and X2 USB A ports including a USB C charging port. The scissor keys are hard to get used to.  My only grip is, I wish the keyboard had come in white. For Cad $50 it's not bad. The Perixx is good for 3 million presses.

Yesterday Anne and I boarded Edmonton's newest LRT edition: The Valley Line

Shown in green with the red dots. This line was 3 years late but we enjoyed riding this train/tram or whatever it is. The yellow line is the West LRT and it's under construction. WLRT is going out to WEM. Should have gone out that way even before Valley. We like the Valley line.

Other than that no movement on RA.
I'm hoping that something will happen within the next 2 weeks. We'll see. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, November 4, 2023

Tuesday morning I began to develop flu like

symptoms. I was moaning and groaning. I felt it in my head and stomach. I had to cancel lodge. This is why my Blog output this week has been low. I'm on the back end of it now.

We've been getting some pretty good weather for this time of year. I think this is an El Nina year or something like that. Daytime highs have been ~ +6*C. Next, We're going to get that for the rest of this weekend and next week. Daylight savings time ends 2a.m Sunday Sunday morning.

In order to get our senior housing application approved we need our cat documentation and a contact name. Anne has been waffling about this for months now. Senior housing is based on need. I'll keep bugging her. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

What with work and everything

it's been a long month. At some point over the next day or 2, I need to get my flu shot. The pharmacy across the street has walk-ins.

Thursday is my lodge night so when I'm at the pharmacy I can even get cash back at their till. Sweet. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, October 26, 2023

Anne and I have been wanting to

get out of here to get a bite to eat for a while now. As of last week, work got in the way and the weather went bad on us. As it did again overnight. We got a dusting of snow out there. I'm up for going out.

I think this is one of the worst starts to the seasons the Oilers have had since 2018 even with McDavid. Right now they are 1 & 6. I have a gut feeling that this year McDavid will exercise his NMC option. $12.5 million USD is a lot of bucks as McDavid is nearing the peak of his prime in hockey years. 8 years is a long time. The Oilers have yet to get to the finale. Anyway, that's all for now.

After a 3 year delay

is the Edmonton Valley line LRT about be activated? The $1.8B project has been met with setback after setback. Finally it was announced today that next Saturday November 4th 5pm, the Valley line LRT will be open to the public. Apprently. I'll believe it when I see it. This is the first time that a LRT will be going above ground in the downtown core.

Yesterday I completed the first revision of my short story based upon my editors recomendations. Then she's going to do one more walk through grammar check. Then I can send it out and wait for the inevitable rejection slips. Next month, I'm writing the next story and that goes out to the same editor and so on.

Earlier today I completed my Halloween beat. It's mostly samples from Pixlebay and an Ai photo generated in Canva. The major news of the day though is I got to 200 subscribers. I would like too open Patreon. Not sure how to proceed with this yet. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, October 22, 2023

The project ended

yesterday. It was a tough one to do because there was no 15-minute break and the survey is so short getting 2/hour is nothing. I was getting 4/hour. At one point I got 22 completes in one shift. I'm constantly talking with someone. The Province doesn't allow for a 15-minute break on a 4-hour shift. There used to be a 15-minute break as of maybe 2017. When the next project is 🤷‍♂️

For the last number of days Anne has been trying to get an Amazon return from this shipping company we have never heard of before. Finally, the driver arrived at about 2 p.m.

We have an overcast day out there and it looks cold. It's +2 feels like 0*. The wind is out of the East @ 9 Kmh. Meteorologists are still calling for 3* but I doubt it. Welcome to late October in Edmonton.

Friday, October 20, 2023

😃It's a Friday mid-late afternoon

about ready to start my shift. I doubt we'll be done tonight but most likely we will tomorrow. I could use a week off. Or this might be it for the rest of the year🤷‍♂️ I'm hoping we're done tonight but Super might have us working to 9 and done the project 🤷‍♂️Out from this I hope to take care of a major bill.

I still have yet to hear from my Royal Arch contact as it's been almost 2 weeks now. He said how he would have my petition read in his lodge and ballot the same night. I'm hoping I'll have my Mark master's degree before the end of the year.

We have one more shift for tomorrow. It will give us a few more hours. I managed 12 completes as it was a slow Friday night for me.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, October 18, 2023

I had a decent shift last night

pulling in 16 completes. I have to remember don't clean a touch screen while I have everything set up. It cost me about 5 minutes into my shift. and I would have had more.

Anne received her Amazon order but we were anticipating a pick up for return. the driver failed to arrive at the allotted time. We rebooked it for Friday instead.

Not a lot going on this week. I need to book for my Covid & Flue shot and I'll probably do that today. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, October 17, 2023

The project survey we're doing

is so short it takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Normally in a 4-hour shift, I can achieve a flow rate easily enough which is 2 completes/hour. I did 22 which is a record for me.

Around 2pm I placed an order from the Walmart pharmacy for sometime later this week pickup. Anne usually does that for me.

My main concern coming up is my petition for Royal Arch (RA). I emailed my contact the petition but he has been concerned about other things pressing on his mind. I called him last Friday but so far he has yet to return my call. I'm optimistic and interested but he needs to get my petition before next week so it can be read in the lodge and balloted the same night. If I fail to hear from my contact by next week then well, idk. Anyway, that's all for now.

What with work and stuff

going on around here I've been neglecting my posting. Not that it's been busy but just got caught up in a few things.

Yesterday the Elks at Commonwealth showed promise in the 1st Q leading 21 3, That was all the Elks during their last home game could get. The score was 35-21 Montreal at the finale The Oilers couldn't keep up with the Canucks at home. The Last time the Oilers had a start like this was 2018-19. Stewart Skinner was in the net this time. The Oilers are @ Nashville on Tuesday.

We had Saturday off because the new sample wasn't ready. It's back to work tomorrow as I have a full week. Including Saturday. Anyway, hat's all for now.

Wednesday, October 11, 2023

It's been a past long weekend

around here and around the world I won't go into details and those are unfolding daily. My heart goes out to the people of Isreal that has been affected by the incidents in and near Gaza. I stand by Israel.

Back to work yesterday. Day 2 on the project. We're going to the 27th. Moving forward I think I'm going to go from 4-8 all the time. Gives me a chance to watch most of the Oilers games. Their season begins today.

I've heard nothing back from my Royal Arch contact. I'm not sure he even got the email containing my application. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what happens. Anyway, not much going on around here. I'm 4-8 again.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, October 9, 2023

This 4 day long weekend

went by way too fast. One minute I'm watching the Elks/Argo's and in an eyeblink here I am. Tomorrow, this time I'll be 30 minutes to closing and closing off the shift.

I didn't get any writing done because I wanted the weekend off. However, I did get my YouTube video published to my channel. "World Flute Trap." That video got me 5 comments, 6 likes, and 1 sub. #196. I'm 4 away from activating Patreon. I'm thinking 3 tiers. The first tier $10/month gets their name in gold letters scrolling at the bottom of the screen and their logo is displayed on my video and access to my personal email. $5/month, their name gets scrolled across the length of the screen and links to their channels before the comments. $1/month gets their links on the screen. Something to that effect. Not sure yet.

Tomorrow is day 2 of the project. I'll be working like that all week. Hopefully, I can meet with my Royal Arch contact to get that petition to him and the appropriate fee. Also this week I need to get my flu shot as well. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, October 8, 2023

I hope everyone is having

a nice long Thanksgiving day weekend. The weather is great. I'm working. I might have an opportunity to expand my Masonic horizons a bit. More info on that as it happens.

There are lots of Halloween events happening in Edmonton throughout the month of October Here are just a few spooky events:

• Fort Edmonton Park has their annual DarkHaunted Festival. Filled with killer clowns and killer food. For more details and to book tickets check it out here.

• Pumpkins After Dark is a walk-through experience at Borden Park. Featuring amazing sculptures and over 10,000 pumpkins! It’s open from 7-10pm and tickets cost ~$20.

• For a little less scary of an event, happening north of Edmonton is the Haunted Pumpkin Festival. Open every weekend at Prairie Gardens it features a U-pick, corn mazes, hay rides, and other farm-related activities. To find out more visit their website.

I think I'll have enough work to last me until the end of the year. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, October 6, 2023

At lodge last night

I made a contact for RA, and I got the name and phone number. He said he would sponsor me and I'll be calling him when I get up this. Hopefully, I can get everything set up right away and take my MM* before the end of the year. Things are moving fast

Day one of the shift on Wednesday was excellent. Looks like I could get 20 hours in before the cut-off and a full cheque by the end of the month.  We're going to go to the 27th.

I canceled my subscription to Logic Pro iPad because I wasn't using it as much as I wanted. I opted to renew my subscription to Canva pro. They have a new Ai photo feature that looks interesting. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, October 4, 2023

Earlier this morning

I had a bit of a scare as our internet went down. The last thing I need is for that to happen just before we begin a new project. Anne made a quick call to tech support. They were aware of the outage and no sooner had Anne gotten off the phone, than the internet was restored. Prior to the last project in June, I had an illness that took out ~ 75% of my hearing. I went through that whole project being sick. A few days later, my health was back to normal levels. I was concerned because we were beginning a new project, I'd be offline, and history with some other snag before a new project would repeat itself. Yet I'm good to go for 4pm.

After my 4-hour shift tonight I have 5 days off. I anticipate this to be a short project anyway closing around the end of the month and nothing forthcoming for the rest of the year. Never say never.

Our initial Greater Edmonton Foundation (gef) housing contact for low-income seniors is no longer with the organization. I kind of suspected this to be the case. Enter our new contact. While on the phone with her earlier, she said we can put our name into more than 3 properties. We also need health documentation and confirmation on who will take our cats if and when we pass away.  That's the hardest part of any of this. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, October 3, 2023

It's confirmed I have work

beginning tomorrow 4-8, off Friday because of the long weekend. Back at it Tuesday. That's about all I can say about the project. I've done this one once before and it's a good one.

My wife's sister, Pat has her husband of 77 years old in a Cape Breton hospital. Anne and Pat do Facetime every Monday at 6pm. They've been out to visit us a few times but nice since we've been at our new location. We're concerned for Barry's health to say the least.

The good news about this project because it's Thanksgiving weekend, and we're off Friday until Tuesday. I've been off for 6 months. It's going to be a short project with no indication of whether or not we have another project after this. Oh well, it is what it is as the kids say. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, September 30, 2023

We had a cooler and overcast

day yesterday. I didn't get a lot accomplished. I  had 7 hours of sleep and woke up about noon. I ended up with over 4500 steps. Anne ordered us Royal pizza. It was a good day. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, September 28, 2023

I went back to London drugs

at Northgate yesterday to retrieve my camera tripod & mic. Tuesday when I was there, the lady at the kiosk said I need to have my external mic off the camera cage and the the tripod off the camera to do the screen lamination. While she did that I got distracted plus I was half awake from lack of sleep I got the screen laminated but I inadvertanly left my tripod and mic behind. Fortunatly I called and she said she would store them for me. That's what I went back for yesterday.

After I got the camera items above I hobbled over to Wendys for a baconator burger to take home. That was about 4pm catching the school crowd on the way home.

Good news is I got an email from the job saying that we're going to be starting back again October 4th 😃 It's a 4-8pm familar project. It's a short project but at least I've got a bitof hours. Plus I have days off before it begins. Anyway that's all for now.

Monday, September 25, 2023

Yesterday I got the energy

to overwrite my 2Tb nvme ssd and install and change the drive letter in Bios. C now has 1.81 Tb of free space remaining. The 500Gb I bought in 2020 for 3 years. As long as I'm stingy about what to download, this should last me a long time

I'm up at 7am tomorrow morning to go to Healthcare Solutions leaving here at ~ 8:00 to get my compression stockings. After that, I might get some breakfast at McDonald's and head over to London Drugs across the street to get that screen protector for my Sony camera. It's only $10.

The Oilers and the NHL are in training camp mode. I'm not really interested in the NHL this year. I might wait until they make the playoffs. If that happens. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, September 24, 2023

Friday night at Commonwealth

the Elks were off to a slow start. I slept through the first Quarter and the score read 21 BC Lions, 7 Elks. We picked it up in the 2nd quarter and at one point it was a BC 3-point game. The final score was 29-37 BC. Good game though.

Saturday morning I went to our bi-weekly men's breakfast group a short walk away. I was up at 6am though for it.

It took me a while but I was able to get a track out to my channel. You can watch it here. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, September 20, 2023

Anne and I never made

it out to our outing yesterday because Super had my work laptop he wanted to deliver to me. It's one of the newer ones and has a touch screen. Not that this means anything to me. Anne & I will be going out today

Since my job money doesn't affect my monthly spending I'm just going to save everything. I usually get about 180 hours, which is more than enough. Plus add my tax return might have a nice amount saved away in a few years.

Other than the above not a lot going on this week. I think Friday I'd like to go pick up my compression stockings and get my breakfast at Tim's in the Northgate food court to take with me to BoBs for Saturday morning. On my way out of Northgate, I can get some ice cream. Sounds like a plan. Also while at Northgate I can go to London Drugs Photography Department and get the screen laminated on my Sony ZV-e10 camera's flip-out screen. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, September 16, 2023

I never made it to

Highlands Tuesday or even Commercial today. Not that I was expected. Now that it doesn't seem like there won't be any work until November (guessing) I have more time on my hands than usual.

Yesterday's Elk/s/Riders contest at Mosiac was a special victory for the Visiting team. Elks won 36-29. Elks had been playing catch-up all night. When the Riders scored a major, we did when it was our ball. The difference was the safety we got for 2 points and it was all Edmonton from there.

My recent video is posted on YouTube and you can watch it here if you like. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Tuesday, September 12, 2023

I'm not sure about

Highlands Hall today as my lodge has a Zoom meeting at 7pm tonight. So that means I can clear my calendar for Saturday at Freemason Hall. Commercial lodge tiles at 1 p.m. I know the SW there anyway. I'm sure my jacket will be left where it is.

Yesterday this time last year my job began an ongoing project out of Fort Saskatchewan. It's been over a week now and still nothing about the laptop. I think the issue is just a battery replacement and from what I've seen online, they look easy enough to replace and install. I could do it myself. Looks pretty simple.

We've been getting some really nice mid-September weather here lately. It's going to be very comfortable heading out at noon Saturday to Commercial. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, September 11, 2023

Saturday the Elks

were able to secure a narrow victory at  Commonwealth 25-23 in an exciting come-from-behind game over Calgary, Stampeders. Tre Ford did his usual magic. Coming up next is Elks @ Saskatchewan.

Friday I got my video up on my channel for Saturday. So far 3 likes and 2 comments. Every one of them is like gold. You can watch the video here.

On Tuesday I'm off to Highlands Hall Highland's Unity Lodge and hang out with the brethren there to rescue my jacket I accidentally left behind Thursday. Elks and Riders are at it in Regina on Friday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, September 7, 2023

So far no word

on the laptop that Super picked up Tuesday. Basically, all it needs is a new battery. Unless they are waiting for the delivery of said item. I have a feeling we're going to start next week.

I'm almost ready for lodge tonight. I suspect lots of visitors. I'm looking forward too. I have the music set up on my iPad. Not sure if anyone will offer me a ride home but that's OK there's a bus to Coliseum station to Clareview and I can walk home from there. We'll see what happens. I plan on leaving out of here in about an hour.

I had always thought that Blue Tooth (bt) and Wireless terms were interchangeable. Apparently not. Wireless means the devices are routed through Wi-Fi through a router much like my work laptop. Blue tooth has smaller range and is specific to individual devices, like iPads, cell phones that kind of thing. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, September 5, 2023

Labour day weekend is done

kids are back in school. IMO summer is over once Sunsets before 8pm.

Today I'm watching Leela's Art & Chill YouTube show at 2pm. I'm waiting for tech support to figure out what to do with my laptop. Plus I'm getting some paperwork out for senior housing for Anne and I have lodge on Thursday plus I'm working on another video for this weekend.

Other than that and the Calgary/Elks game on Saturday, not much else is going on. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, September 2, 2023

Smoky days are here

again here in Edmonton and haze tomorrow and possibly Sunday. Great way to start September. The Sun is shining above the clouds somewhere although a bit diffused.

I was using my iPod Touch 6th gen (2015) when I first began tracking my steps in August 2019 to keep this CVI at bay. It worked well until last August 2022, when Anne was inspired by her sister's use of a Fitbit Versa smartwatch to keep track of Donna's steps. Anne bought me a Versa 3 to keep track of my steps when my iPod died. My Versa 3 is very dependable at tracking steps. I decided a few months back to let's see how good it does at tracking my sleep. I was wearing my Versa on my wrist to bed every night. Still do. Versa was doing a decent job for a while. I began tracking this in my daily journal. Then Versa's tracking sleep was hit and miss. Just this week this is what I got from Versa:

Insert picture description

Versa is hit-and-miss with data like this and I doubt Apple is much better. And Fitbit encourages me to get a subscription? For a service like that? No way. I can't speak for Apple devices but if you own an iPhone chances are Apple still has an in-house health app. They did this for the iPod Touch. As for Versa 3, I can't recommend I give it a ***/***** Stay away.

It's the Labour Day weekend. Wuwho!. The Elks play on Monday in Calgary. Can we make it a trifecta and tie the Stamps' win-loss record?🤔 We have the rubber match on the following Friday here in Edmonton if we don't. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much going on this week

as August is about to close. It's been an interesting month. Still no word about any work projects.

Earlier this evening Anne wanted my help to get our old AC out of storage. The idea was to take it to the pawn shop over here on 50th Street. It's not that we needed the money. It was just taking up space in the closet. The old AC was a 2 person operation. We had to use that small hand truck to walk it down the 2nd-floor steps to the outside and then to an awaiting Superstore cart she "enlisted" for the transport of said AC. When she returned she said she got $25 for it. Not bad.

Still working on my flash fiction piece. I have an editor in mind who will do a line edit proofread and story development for $54 USD. Not bad. Anyway, that's all for now.

Finally, the losing streak

is over! Elks finally won a Home game at Commonwealth. Changing the QB made all the difference. Tre Ford delivered the goods. The finale was Ottawa 20- Elks 30.

For week 11, we're 2/9. One W next Monday at McMahon Stadium. (seldom ever happens) We would share last place with Calgary

I received part of my Amazon order yesterday. The camera cage cold shoe mounts. The order came in at kick-off. 5pm. I messed up on the initial order. It was being fulfilled out of Seattle? So I got customer service and they canceled the order for me and I ordered the cables from our local Amazon centre. They will arrive tomorrow. 😀

Also, Anne ordered us each a Pizza 73 using her discount. Elk's win, Amazon straightened out, Pizza. Yesterday was a good day. Anyway, that's all for now.

My Amazon order

should be arriving at about 2:45 p.m. this afternoon. I'm expecting the 2-pack cold shoe camera mount kit plus x2 10' USB C to A cables. One cable for the mic is attached to my Sony, and the other from the Sony to the computer so I can use the Sony as a webcam. I hope they call on arrival or at the door as per our instructions. Next up is a battery bank and a 10' micro hdmi>USB A cable. I'll be placing that order when I get my "allowance" this week. What the micro USB> cable does is go to the computer. It gives a clean signal to get all of the info off the camera's flip screen. The shorter cable (of the same) was okay when I had my tower on my desk. That tower is in a floor caddy ~ 8 feet away now.

Also on tap for today is the Ottawa/Elk's game at 5 p.m. as Anne is serving up our Sunday brunch. Hopefully, with Tre Ford as QB, we can break the jink today and win one at Commonwealth.

Hard to believe it's approaching September already. Days are definitely shorter. Not much going on for this week. Last year my job resumed work on September 12th. Most likely the same project. It's a project I'm good at. It went on for 100 hours. It means I can pay off a big bill. My Amazon order should be here in ~ 15 min. Anyway, that's about all for now.

My pay pal funds

arrived in my account this morning. I bought my product and it works as advertised. I bought an app called DouWon that lets my iPad screen display in OBS. It works great. I'm charging my Sony ZV-e10. I just need a longer USBA-C cable. I'm considering buying x2 10' lengths of these cables. So far, they are just in my shopping cart.

I have a new video uploaded to my channel. Piano Motifs with Speldos and FRMS to give the track some texture. The track is trending upwards already. The track already has 5 comments/Likes.

I think I found a good critique service. They charge CAD $54 for a 500-word story. I can do one of those a month, and more when I'm working. I don't like these communities because, for every story of mine that gets critiqued, I have to critique somebody else's. I'm not qualified to critique anyone's work and do it justice. It sounds like a part-time job.

I ordered the above cables but I realized I need another HDMI>Micro HDMI of the same length: Ten feet. Silly Jimmy.  The 6-foot one is ok for now. That's another order but this one will go out next week. Anyway, that's all for now.

It's an overcst day

out there today. Later this afternoon, Anne is taking Skippy over to the vet for her monthly needle. Rian is in the forecast. Spotted showers.

Pay pal in their initial blurb said it takes 3-5 business days to transfer funds from a bank to my PayPal account. Then they said in an update my funds should be in my PayPal account on the 26th? Funds were transferred on Friday. This is. 2023. We have e-transfers now. It was only $20 but come on already.

I was looking into doing some copy editing for a short piece of flash fiction ~ 500 words. I spoke too soon. Apparently, the service is ~ $500 US. I could see this if I were writing a novel. Anyway, that's all for now.

Too be honest

I never thought I'd make it this far. I'm 71 as of today. Do I have any regrets? Heck yeah. I'll list off a few: I regret getting addicted to Coca-cola in my early 20's. I regret moving to Edmonton when I did. Nothing against Edmonton or my time here. I thought my parents would retire here. I regret not having an interest in learning to drive a car as a young adult. I doubt many of the choices I made in life. I regret giving my work phone number about a part-time job. I regret not joining Freemasonry early in life as many other regrets. I'm 71, and I'm feeling good

Anne and I are going out tomorrow for a bite to eat. We're not sure yet. Anne's sister's husband is in the hospital. He's not on life support or anything.

I have my most recent video posted. It's gaining a bit of traction. If you want, you can watch it here.

Other than that I'm having a quiet birthday at home. I received a lot of happy birthday wishes over the phone and on Facebook. Other than today & tomorrow not much else is happening this week. That's about all for now.

Saturday, August 19, 2023

Anne ordered us a

Royal pizza for dinner last night. I thought it was alright but it didn't sit very well with her. I watched WWE wrestling enjoying my pizza. A last hometown match with Edge and Sheamus. I enjoyed watching Edge win.

The HDMI cable I ordered earlier this week worked ok and displayed my iPad screen on my computer monitor perfectly. It just didn't deliver audio. I haven't tried it with my Camlink capture card to OBS yet. However, I discovered a piece of software that lets me deliver video/audio (AV) from my iPad to my computer monitor into OBS. The only caveat (even though it's free) displays a huge watermark and gives 2 minutes of recording time. The company has 2 other payment plans: 6 months & 1 year. I can't recall what the 6 month plan was but the 1 year plan is only $10. The only problem (again) is they only accept payment via PayPal and some obscure credit card I've never heard of or seen before. I uploaded Cad $20 to my Pay Pal account but because here in Canada it takes 3-5 business days to transfer funds. The whole idea is to get a webcam overlay on my iPad screen with real-time audio. So I have to wait until Tuesday at the earliest or Thursday at the latest just to buy this. Yeesh. I'm also aware of i0s 17 Beta which allows the use of mirrorless cameras to act as an external webcam for pip. That's not what I want for now.

I have another new subscriber. #193. On the immediate horizon, I'm looking at the printer I mentioned previously. I'll be giving my Patreon's things like T-shirts; cups, hats, stickers, shoutouts all kinds of things at various tiers. This is once I get to 200 subscribers. This is a project for next year at least. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm having a nice couple of days and no place to

go 😀.

Yesterday we got up to +30* and after that we get thunder rain and lightning.

Wednesday President and chief executive officer Victor Cui was sacked. I think it was a knee-jerk response because the fan base was looking for a scapegoat. In hindsight, the head office should have waited till the off-season. It was not a very classy move Elks. Last night the Elks were in Hamilton and the game was delayed due to rain for an hour and a half. Elks won 24-10.

Yesterday I bought a USB C HDMI cable from Amazon so I can output my iPad Pro to my computer monitor into my Elgato Camlink. This way OBS can recognize my iPad. I should be getting that on Monday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Nobody answered my request in chat to pick me up

for the Lodge BBQ. It was a lousy day to have it on anyway. Traditionally it was always held on a Saturday. I haven't heard anything about the BBQ. Oh well.

Even though my recent video <here was uploaded Saturday, it earned me 2 new subscribers, 2 comments, and 2 likes. Not bad. I'm about ready to get some merchandise or merch for my channel and open up Patreon. I need 2 items. A decent printer to print out T-shirt transfers and a dry presser. I'm looking at one that they have over at Michaels. The other item is a Brother MFC J6959DW printer. It's a bit pricey but has a lot of bang for the buck. I can also print custom stickies for cups etc.

My first Flash fiction sci-fi story in the rough draft is done. I'll be aggressively revising the story over the next week or so and when it's ready send it out to the editor. The story is 425 words. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, August 11, 2023

I managed to get my video uploaded

to YouTube this morning before bed. It's about 10 minutes. There are some interesting moments.

Not much going on all day. I put the call out for a ride to the lodge BBQ. If anyone East of Northgate could pick me up. Doesn't look like anyone East of Northgate is going. We used to have the BBQ on a Saturday. If there is a low turnout, I think that's why.

Earlier I did a rough draft of a flash fiction piece. Under 500 words. I'm just about finishing up the ending. I'll send it for editing, and submit it. Most likely sometime next week. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's all for now.

That was quite a storm

that passed through here last night. According to the Edmonton Journal, we received 51 ml of rain. it came down so hard and fast like a monsoon. It lasted for maybe 3 hours. Seems like not much rain for such a storm, but that's the Journal reporting

Right now it's a mix of Sun and clouds on a beautiful summer afternoon. Game time is at 7pm as Winnipeg is in town. Hopefully, with a new QB, and offensive coordinator re-assigning duties this could be a win for the Elks. We usually start strong but falter closer to the half and sputter for the balance of the game. If we're like 21-7 and at the 3 min warning in the 4th Q, then I'll get excited. We even have an Indigenous-enhanced logo on the field for good luck.

Maybe with this logo, it will give us some positive vibes, or is this the season that Chris Jones is trying to get Edmonton a 0-19 loss by design

🤔Why?🤷‍♂️

I think there could be one last me working full hours at the job thing. After that, it's 3-hour shifts if they'll have me. Oh well, that's all for now.

Tuesday, August 8, 2023

Unless I get offered a

ride, most likely I'll be a no-show at the Lodge BBQ Sunday. I suggested to Anne that we might be able to get a ride from Dan but we'd have to meet him at Southgate at Ronnie's feet. She didn't like that idea. The lodge knows I'm interested and my transportation options are limited. ETS has no buses out to the Woodhaven area. Possibly a NIMBY thing. Even if they did it might take ~ an hour to get out there.

That's ok because Anne and I have an early birthday outing for me planned for next week. If the new Mission Impossible movie is still playing at Manning, the goal first is to try out 5 Guys' fast food place, then to the movie and home. Well, in theory. So I'm not too worried about making it to the lodge BBQ.

I got 3 new documents uploaded to my family tree at Ancestry. My birth records I received from BC Department of Vital Statistics. 11:08am August 21st, 1952; my Master Mason degree, and my IPM degree. Are all posted on my Ancestry page. This way future generations of the Shannon clan can see what I've been doing, say 1000 years from now. Yeah, good luck with that. Planet Earth might not be around 100 years from now, little alone 1,000. Besides I'd be a needle in a haystack. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much going on this week

except making music video's for my youtube channel. I had one idea I was working on using Ampify Studio but all the sounds were so heavily processed. I wasn't using the account as much as I would have hoped. I liked the workflow though. So now I'm back to Loopcloud. Same concept as Splice but Splice is double the cost.

This weekend is the lodge BBQ. I haven't been.

since pre-Covid. Danny puts on a good spread. Hopefully, I can get a ride out there. I'll be calling around today.

Also, this week is the Winnipeg/Elks game Thursday. Is this the game we beat the Home losing streak? other than the above, I have nothing else to do. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, August 5, 2023

My first day at

Fort Edmonton Park Masonic Museum was good. My ride had a bit of trouble getting us there. That was a long way back. We got a lot of visitors. Jordan was there as usual. I'm in the blue.

They took out the fridge from last year but it was a good afternoon.

Yesterday Louis picked me up and we went to McDonald's for my morning breakfast instead of Tim's yesterday. Louis found the Fort Edmonton Park Christmas Market entrance, which is near the river. There's volunteer parking behind the Hotel Selkirk, where Louis and I parked. I suggested he call me from where we parked because it's easier to get to the museum from there. This time it was just Jordan and I. We had a steady stream of visitors. Also, I discovered that the park has Open City wifi. 🙏 Louis called Jordan's phone @ 3:30pm. I walked over to meet him and home. It was a nice couple of days.

This week has been a good week. Anne bought me a new computer chair from Costco. We ate at the deli. She also bought me a new fan for my office and a hoodie as a birthday present for my birthday later this month. Add that and the two days at Fort Edmonton Park. Good week.

I've got a video for my channel I'm working on for next Saturday, plus there is an Elks Home game Thursday. Plus some video editing. The usual. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, August 3, 2023

This morning I'm

doing my annual Fort Edmonton Park volunteer gig. The Masonic Lodge museum is open to the public. I try to get a day every August. My day is today but because we're so short staff I'm also there for tomorrow from 10-4. Historically, we usually buddy up. 2 of us. We're there to answer questions from the public about Freemasonry.  It's actually a good time. Last year it was so warm outside, my buddy and I took the train back to the park entrance. Sadly there isn't any ETS bus to Fort Edmonton Park.

The Elks are on a bye week. Meaning they are not playing any games. Now that there is a coaching and quarterback change maybe they'll improve their record at home when they resume play next Thursday entertaining Winnipeg.

Tuesday late afternoon Anne and I went to Costco because she wanted to show me the Laz Boy chair she wants to buy me. I needed to test it out. Anne showed me how to use the scooters Costco for low-mobility customers. I caught on to how to use it very easily. I did and I like it. The wheels move well on the plastic mat. I like how the armrests fold back. The back is high enough that it acts as a privacy screen from prying eyes behind me. And the chair is comfortable. Anne also bought me a new zipper hoody and an office fan. Plus she bought us Costco hot dogs and fries from the deli. Good time. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, August 1, 2023

Anne returned from Costco about 9:30

and brought me back a Sunday. Very nice. She mentioned this chair by "Lazy Boy" she wants to get for me as a birthday present. The one I'm currently using is really hard on my bum. We're going back to Costco tomorrow so I can test it out and get a hot dog and fries. If I like the chair, she said she'll buy it. Sounds like a plan.

July has been a long month. Getting that blue screen was scary. However, it was nice to get out to Memory Express and iHop. Next up I think is the Razer webcam. I'm still not giving up on my Sony though. The Razer works well in low light. My use case. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, July 30, 2023

That's two times

now the Elks had a 0 to the score. ELks 0 Lions 27. Was that an egregious move by Jones to get the ELks into the record books under his watch? Sure looks that way.

The good news the Elks go into a bye week. Hopefully, rational heads can prevail and end this madness. Bring up the assistant coach, and put Jones on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

The other day I received something new in my bank account: The Canada Workers Benefit (cwb). This is something that comes out 3 times a year. The next one will be in October. The benefit paid for 3 of my meds yesterday.

The beat I posted on my channel yesterday has so far 4 comments 6 Likes, and 20 views. I hope it gets more of all categories above. Here's a link to the video if you want to listen. I'm even on the mic this time 😃 Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, July 27, 2023

Next month we're going to apply

again to GEF housing as we have our cat licenses and Anne and I are now both on full pension. If we can get the process started again and pick out 3 places like they suggested, that will shave time off their 2-year waiting list. We should have done this when I turned 65. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, July 26, 2023

We've been taking

our female cat Skippy to the vet down the block once a month for her shot. Skippy had an eye removed so the vet there said this is what she needs.

As of this writing, I got 3 new subscribers on my YouTube channel. now situated at 192. How long I can keep that number going is hard to say. As in life people come, people go. Will I get to 200 Subscribers before the end of the year? IDK?

I'm working on a video for my channel for Saturday. Plus there's CFL football BC Lions/Elks. Will this break the streak or will the Elks have a new record: The most home loss streak in Professional sports of any league. This could be history in the making. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, July 24, 2023

We just had a

nice thunder lightning storm that rolled through here about an hour ago. The last bits of it are hanging around. I love a good thunderstorm but it doesn't do any good for the wildfires causing smoke in the area.

Not a lot going on around here. A work colleague and I over-chat were discussing the Ottawa Rd Blacks/BC Lions CFL game earlier. I knew my friend is a baseball fan. I'm not per se but I asked him if he ever saw a Reiver hawk's game? It's our local Pacific West Coast baseball team. They have such a short season. I'd like to go before the season closes but he hasn't been very well lately but he's into going with me.

Believe it or not, I have nothing going on this week. No appointments, no getting up early. Nothing. My calendar is empty. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, July 21, 2023

Going into the

halftime break last night the Elks and Bombers were tied at 6. After that, it was all Winnipeg. The home team had ball possession for most of the game. Four times we got to the red zone and we failed and got nothing. Finale score was 14-29 Winnipeg. Cornelius threw some pretty good passes. 1 resulted in a major. Next up Saturday, July 29th hosting the BC Lions. Our record is now 7-0.

Wyndham Crossing has another make-work project: installing siding on the outside. There are 3 self-propelled crane lifters on this property. We got one behind us installing siding on our section facing Capital Place. They began work about 9am Thursday morning. The crane lifter is connected to a compress(I think) and when that came on it vibrated our bed. Hopefully, they will have this done within the next week or so.

Today is day 1 of Klondike days (k-days). Our local Midway. Also in tandem with K-days is The Taste of Edmonton. Both events are running until July 30th. Taste of Edmonton is being held in Churchill Square, right downtown. Anyway, that's all for now.

So far my out of pocket

off the rack compression stockings are holding up. These compression stockings (as far as I know) come in 2 flavors: Cotton and Nylon. I think the cotton ones are better because they are all made with one kind of material. The nylon ones have cottoned on the heel. It's been my experience that the cotton on-the-heel stockings stretch the heel cotton somehow and holes appear in the fabric. Thus losing compression. The cotton stockings are all made from one material. Plus the cotton stockings 'breath" easier.  I don't mind if at $25 a pair of nylon stockings after a month I get holes in them. Anne can patch these to last until my next pair. I'm a low-income senior so $100 is a bitter pill to swallow. Especially when the vendor lied to me. Every day when I put these stockings on is a day I cross my fingers and hope there are no holes in them. I check before putting them on at the heel to see if a hole appeared when Anne takes them off.

Apparently, at the moment we're getting heavy rain. Well somewhere in the area. Just not here. We had a lot of rain over night, which was nice

to help get rid of the smoke we've had over this last weekend. Right now the Air Quality Index is @ 4 which means it's a moderate health risk.

Not much is happening right now. I'm trying to get my Sony ZV-e10 camera calibrated to work in OBS. I've got a lot of noise issues and my screen recording using Camlink is coming out brownish. I have one key light and that could be the cause. ISO/aperture settings could also be an issue, idk. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, July 16, 2023

I have absolutely nothing going on

this week at all. Except for the Elks@Winnipeg CFL football game Thursday my calendar is clear. Wow.

My sister-in-law and my wife's niece are out on a 10-day European cruise. They were in Venice yesterday as Anne got a Face time call from her sister. Europe is having a massive heat dome but Donna was saying it's bearable. Meanwhile, we're dealing with smokey conditions like we had earlier this summer. We had a bit of rain early this morning, and now the Air Quality Index is a 7 from 11 previously. I think today Donna is in Greece.

So far the $100 pair of stockings I bought 4 weeks ago this Tuesday are holding up. No holes in each stocking so far.  If I can have these last for 4 weeks, Anne can patch them up to last until I can get a pair at $25. Maybe. I might have a post midweek, not sure. You can always reach me via Facebook. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, July 15, 2023

Anne left out of here

almost immediately after her shift was over. She took the walker. Destination: Out for pizza. She took a chance because some local buses and at 8pm on a Saturday. She got the pizza because the purchase showed up online in my bank account. She's on her way home. Hopefully, she's not stranded out there. If she does, she can always take a cab home.

At the moment the AQI is 11 very high. This really puts a damper on local festivals. However, the Animethon held this weekend is inside the Edmonton Convention Centre. Other than Covid, Animethon has an attendance of about 10,000 fans over the 3-day event. It's more than just Anime. It's sci-fi, etc. This event isn't like the Edmonton Expo held in September. Anyway, that's all for now.

The losses keep mounting

for our Edmonton Elks CFL football club. Last night at Commonwealth was no exception as we entertained the Hamilton Tiger cats. We got off to a good start with a turnover on a kickoff for 3 points. Both teams traded the usual 2/outs in the first half and the visitors managed to get 4 points on the board. 4-3 Hamilton at the end of the half. Keep in mind the Elks have lost 19 straight home games closing in on Major League Baseball’s St. Louis Browns record for 20 straight Home game losses in 1953 before becoming the Baltimore Orioles the next season. A loss last night and we'd tie that record. In the 2nd half, things went from bad to worse until we had a quarterback change. Out with Cornelious in with Doego. I'm not sure what Doego's completion rate was but the receivers were catching just about everything Doego threw at them. In the end, Hamilton won 37-29. We tied the Orioles. Next week, if we don't start with Doego, we're going to beat Oriole's record.

We're back with the smoke. More out-of-control forest fires in the region. It's not like New Westminster's fog but it is noticeable and just out on the balcony for a minute and I found it difficult to breathe. our Air Quality Index (AQI) reads moderate to severe. apparently, we have today and tomorrow of this and it should clear up Sunday? IDK.

These compression stockings are holding up. For $100, they better. The most vulnerable part of these stockings is in the heal because the heal is made out of cloth. 90% of these are made out of nylon. Cotton socks "breath" better and I even had a pair of them on before the vendor said I exceeded my year allotment. I have to hope these last at least in the middle of August when Anne can patch them to last until September 20th. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, July 11, 2023

Yesterday Anne and I headed out

to the West end memory express store to see if we could get diagnostic work done on my computer and what is causing the computer to go blue screen. Sunday night we had the computer tower packed up and ready to go and it occurred to me what if the blue screen is specific to the disk and not the Bios? I could get into the Bios so that right there should have told me that I didn't want to put the backup m.2 disk in where the current disk is in case the issue was the Bios and infected my backup disk. We didn't know this at the time. I brought the backup disk with me, just in case. Sure enough at the shop, after the current disk was removed I asked to put the backup disk in and start the computer. Sure enough, it came on. No blue screen. We saved hundreds of $ doing diagnostic work. I asked the guy if the store had any 2Tb Samsung 970 EVO Plus drives. Yes. Price is $200. I bought one.

So this was the culprit all along:

The guy in the back said it was these exposed contact points (blue arrow) causing the issue. The tech guy had put the disk in the store's scanner and the scanner began to smoke.

Anyway, we paid for our purchase and went over to the iHop on 170th not far away, and had a nice brunch and home.

We ended up having a great day for a Monday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, July 6, 2023

I'm in bed by

4:30 this morning, as I'm doing some prep work on this week's video.

Tonight it's the Elks at Mosiac Stadium in Regina. We beat the Riders in Mosiac last time, we can do it again tonight.

This weekend is the International Street performers festival. The event will be at Sir Winston Churchill Square downtown. I might go Saturday afternoon for a bit before Anne starts her shift. The festival is from July 7th-16th Should be fun. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tech support is

busy at the moment remotely working on my laptop. I need the laptop screen open on the space where I usually have my mic set up so I can't set up my mic for an Fl. Studio screen recording. The laptop is normally stored away when not working. Takes up a lot of space on my desk. The laptop work should be done by 3pm.

The console gaming community is buzzing about a Nintendo Switch 2. First of all, knowing the company's history, when they bring out new hardware consoles, they almost never repeat the console naming convention. It's usually something like Nintendo DS as in DS XL, that sort of thing. It's going to be a brand-new system. There's no development kit because nobody has an official Nintendo nondisclosure agreement. And to the best of my knowledge (not that I'm an insider) but there are no NDA's out there. Up to now, it's all BS speculation.

Until the above laptop work is accomplished, I'm not motivated to do much of anything right now. I'm just chilling my beans taking it easy. The work should be done by 3pm. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, July 4, 2023

Not a lot going on

this week. Tomorrow, tech support is doing some maintenance on my work laptop. I won't need to be present for that.

I'm looking at buying a pre-owned iPhone, plus a $25/month plan under my current Apple id. This has unlimited texting. I'm looking at the iPhone SE. It means shelling out ~ $350 if I decide to go for this and, depends on the capacity and how old the phone is.

Thursday is the Elks/Mosiac facing the Riders CFL game. Elks won at Mosiac last year. Will history repeat itself? I hope so.

I'm slowly feeling better. I still have some congestion. This congestion gets worse the more I talk. Anyway, that's all for now.

My hearing is mor or less

back to normal but I still have throat congestion. I'm feeling much better and my voice is slowly returning

I'm still keeping my steps, watching football. Taking it easy. Anyway, that's all for now.

My hearing is slowly returning

as I'm now able to hear my wife. I'm still congested, but I'm good to go if I get word of a project soon. I could use another 50 hours between now and when work resumes.

Mics for my music production hobby have always been hit-and-miss for me. I'm considering a gaming headphone/mic setup. I'm off and on researching these. I'd like a headphone/mic with a detachable USB/3/8ths/XLR cable combination.

This morning I'm going to set up my iPad for another video. I bought Combuster a few days ago. It's another app sound mangler.

Healthcare Solutions hadn't called me back yesterday at noon. Most likely they need to confer with AADL about my compression stockings, and where I am in how many I'm supposed to get. I have 2 pair here. One,  I couldn't fit into, the other I had to buy. I'm wearing these now. Anyway, that's all for now.
