for our Edmonton Elks CFL football club. Last night at Commonwealth was no exception as we entertained the Hamilton Tiger cats. We got off to a good start with a turnover on a kickoff for 3 points. Both teams traded the usual 2/outs in the first half and the visitors managed to get 4 points on the board. 4-3 Hamilton at the end of the half. Keep in mind the Elks have lost 19 straight home games closing in on Major League Baseball’s St. Louis Browns record for 20 straight Home game losses in 1953 before becoming the Baltimore Orioles the next season. A loss last night and we'd tie that record. In the 2nd half, things went from bad to worse until we had a quarterback change. Out with Cornelious in with Doego. I'm not sure what Doego's completion rate was but the receivers were catching just about everything Doego threw at them. In the end, Hamilton won 37-29. We tied the Orioles. Next week, if we don't start with Doego, we're going to beat Oriole's record.
We're back with the smoke. More out-of-control forest fires in the region. It's not like New Westminster's fog but it is noticeable and just out on the balcony for a minute and I found it difficult to breathe. our Air Quality Index (AQI) reads moderate to severe. apparently, we have today and tomorrow of this and it should clear up Sunday? IDK.
These compression stockings are holding up. For $100, they better. The most vulnerable part of these stockings is in the heal because the heal is made out of cloth. 90% of these are made out of nylon. Cotton socks "breath" better and I even had a pair of them on before the vendor said I exceeded my year allotment. I have to hope these last at least in the middle of August when Anne can patch them to last until September 20th. Anyway, that's all for now.
