Not much going on

at the moment just enjoying my time off, watching Oilers hockey, making tracks that sort of thing. I can't believe I've had 3 months off., although I do need to get back to work for a couple of cheques.

I've pretty much given up on Facebook. I just use it to connect with people I know personally, chatting with immediate friends and the groups I subscribe to.

After midnight tonight, I am on a 12-hour fast as I'm off to get a blood test tomorrow. After that, I've got the Oilers/Pittsburgh hockey game. I've got 2 more Oilers games after tomorrow. Life is good.

Its

been a busy couple of weeks.

At first, I was going to abandon all social media but YouTube, but this site has been up and running for way too long to just abandon it. Besides I'm doing this mainly as a historical record for me and family. So this and YouTube, I'll keep up and running.

Sad news in the entertainment industry: While he wasn't that widely known Jerry Doucette's main claim to fame was the 1977 hit "Mama let him play." I was still in Vancouver at that time. For some reason. I liked the song. There's a good bio of him on Wikipedia.

Overnight we had yet another round of snow. It came down and stayed. At the moment it's bright and sunny out there. It's -1 but feels like -6 with a North wind at 11.

Tonight, it's game 6/82 for the Oilers hosting Dallas at 6:30pm as the season winds down. I've been working on a track for my YouTube channel.  It's kind of a lo-fi chill-inspired track with some video editing elements. I'm going to start naming my tracks Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm just chillin taking it easy

playing my Nintendo Switch Baldur's Gate 1, watching hockey, and on various live streams. In between all of that Facebook, reading, staying up late getting up about 10am. All of that is punctuated with lodge visitations, etc.

I enjoyed going to Lodge last Thursday even though I was the only one wearing a mask. It was great seeing the guys again. It was still a good time. Coming up Saturday, I want to revisit Commercial lodge at Freemason's Hall next Saturday. It's a 1pm start. I know some of the guys there.

TBH I don't miss work at all. Sure the lack of income hurts a bit. I don't need much. I went and ordered the Rode Go 2 video mic for my camera/channel. It should be here by Thursday. I'll have it paid off at the end of the month.

When work resumes, I'm only going for 3 days a week until Anne gets her pension. If everything remains the same, we could stay here. If not and my pension takes a hit because of last year's hours, we'll be looking into a senior's complex and we're all good with that. Anyway, that's all for now

Enjoying my morning coffee

I'm in a live stream with the gang at 2pm. lunch and then haircut and after that Oilers/Sharks game. Plus my usual stuff.

In between all of that, I'm playing Baldur's Gate 1 enhanced edition on my Nintendo Switch.  Reading a World of Warcraft book, YouTube, Facebook. The usual. I might try out the new walker and walk around the block out by the park here if there's time.

Thursday I'm out at lodge, have a bite to eat and a cold beer. Should be a good time. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been nearly 2 weeks since I

uploaded a post here not that I've been terribly busy or forgetful. It's just that there has been nothing worthwhile to say.

Nothing exciting going on in my world. Anne is working. I'm enjoying my time off. Hopefully, this will continue until the end of the month. From here on in though I'll be working 3 days a week if they'll have me. The more money I make the more it impacts my pension. My pension is steady, but my job isn't. I can budget for 3 days a week.

Last week I went and bought Sampletank 4 max (st4) I bought st2 when I first got into the hobby of "music production". it was a 32-bit program back in 2011 on a couple of CDs. Lots of good instruments. Enter st 4 max. I've been hearing great things about it. Apparently, st 4 max is a 240Gb install and boasts over 7000 sounds. Apparently, because there are no e guitars or e basses, no brass, etc. It's a bitch to install as well. It took me a while to figure out. I still don't have it all installed, but no way 7000 sounds. The UI is ugly af.

The main surprise for me last month was Davinici's Resolve 17 (dr). I've been sleeping on this video editing software for a long time. I didn't think my 3ghz 6core budget PC could handle rendering projects. Mind you I haven't delved into the advanced stuff but so far, no problem. The best part about dr is it's free. no watermark nothing. I want to get the paid version at cad $400 soon.

At the moment, I'm enjoying my morning coffee. Also last month I uploaded 3 videos to my channel. I also made a conscious decision to use less of Facebook. I'm using it for chat and my Facebook groups. That's it. If people want to know what I'm doing they can come here. I'm not that hard to find. Anyway, that's all for now.
