Last nights Eskimo game was

a heart breaker. Hamilton had just come off a bye-week. Hamilton walked all over us. Not even the return of C. J. Gable (our RB) could help us. About the 11 minute mark of the 4th quarter, their receiver got the ball. We had two guys covering him and he does a dipsy doodle, and scores a major. Then with single digit seconds on the clock they score a field goal to win 24-25.

We've got a overcast autumn looking day out there this afternoon. Sure beats that heat wave we had a few weeks ago. We're sitting at +10, but it feels like +8 and there is a bit of rain.

It's possible my (as of Tuesday) 21 day break will come to an end. There's some talk we could be called back early next week. Work usually ramps up a bit in mid September, so we're a bit early. I've been getting lots of reading in, messing around with Reason 10 and OBS, and a few medical appointments. Sunday we're having lodge practice. I was on the phone this morning with ei etc. I've been chatting with friends on messenger, that sort of thing. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I'm enjoying my Sunday afternoon

off here today. At the moment its +8* out there under partial cloudy skies. It feels like +7* and the winds are light at 11km/h. Quite a nice day for going for a walk, with a sweater and a hoodie.

There was a observance of the battle of Vimy Ridge at the actual site of the battle near the monument. Its a Very important event in Canadian/Commonwealth history. There's even observances of this event underway at City hall here in Edmonton.

I'm hoping I can get to Service Canada tomorrow before work and the Tuesday I have my Doctors appointment and I can take care of the Provincial supplement, which is in the same building on my way out before work. Other then that I have a short week because Good Friday is this week as well. Its also the first round of the NHL playoffs and I'll be able to watch some of the first and most likely only round the Oilers will be in this year. Not that I care too much. I'm just happy we made the playoffs this year. The last game of the regular season is tonight as the Oilers are entertaining the Vancouver Canucks. I just hope we wont play Calgary in this stupid "Battle of Alberta" hype thing, uggh. Also this week is my first payment on Novation Circuit. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its a overcast day out there with a bit of rain

popping in and out. We've been having some nice weather lately. Even last night while waiting for my 9pm bus home, it was mild while chatting with one of my colleagues. We cant complain with the weather we're getting this time of year. A little rain for today is ok with me.

I was in the office at my 124th street job last night as we we're finishing up a project. We only needed a handful of completes and a few cell phone completes. We were hoping we'd be out of there early. I was on the cell phones. 99% of the responses were not in service. Then near the 70% mark of the night we got to do landlines as we were just wrapping up the project. So not only do I not have work at my South side job Saturday (jackhammering just outside of the building) but since the 124th street project is done I have no work Saturday. This means I have a weekend off!

TF7 is the most recent i0s app I purchased the other day. Its got some great sounds. The initial player was free but I bought a sound pack for about $5. I haven't played with it yet in Audioshare but I hope to do this over the weekend. The Oilers 1st Live regulation game is on as well at Rogers Sunday. So besides this app to play with, I've got some things to do.

Inclosing, as for today, (if Anne suggests other wise) I'm out of here at 3pm for my South Side job. On my way in I have one of my Warhammer 40K books to pick up. Hopefully they are still there. Then its back on the train to Southgate and the job. The good news is the lady that lives near my area will be in and will give me a ride home, so I should be home in time to catch "Innerspace," and the results of the Eskimo game. As for next week, I'm at my Southside job, Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday, Lodge.  Possibly Friday, Saturday at the other place. We'll see. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been quiet around here lately

there's been no other drama around here other then Monday night and winning a bit of cash playing black jack.

On my way into work not expecting anything, I see a co worker I haven't seen get off the stop at my first job. I said hello asked what's going on. He said he didn't know. I'll try and pop in after work at the other place. I had a decent night on the job. We're done on the May Friday 13th on the 2nd job. I took the bus to Corona and Clareview. A bit of waiting at Clareview and I was home at 9:30pm. Only a half an hour difference. Not to bad.

I called the Super at the first job and he said what project we're starting on Monday. I should call the boss Friday to see what he has in mind. Best I could do because I need 3 days at the other job and lodge is next week, is Friday and Saturday. Then I got 3 days for the 2nd job and I'll be back on track with that until September. I'll call the boss before I leave out of here.

I bought a black jack card yesterday and I won $7. Not to bad. Other then that, that's about it. Anyway, that's all for now.

I woke up about

12:30pm yesterday afternoon and I have a day off with pay today. I'm looking forward to Pension and hopefully I can work a few days a week or less. I'd work a week at the end of every month just for pocket money. I'm counting down the months.

A few days ago, inspired by a Scotia bank ad on affordable insurance, I thought I'd investigate online. Scotia bank. Enter phone # for a quote, ok. I did and forgot about it until Anne brought it to my attention that I somehow got someone from the states. They called half a dozen times the other day and Anne spoke with someone with a Southern accent. She said "We're not interested,do not call back." Today they called 6 times eating up a lot of space on our cordless phone's memory. We don't have call waiting or a answering machine. That's an extra $15/month. If this person calls again, it's a no and a Do Not Call Back (DNCB). "Place this phone number on your DNCB list." If she insists on calling again, then we may need to get another phone with a call block feature. Telus has these features bundled. There are other service providers that have better deals. We're not worried too much about it now.

With a day off and it being Monday, I get to watch the early Monday night Raw for a change. Tonight I'll be in by 3am, listen to a bit of Coast as they discuss "The Divine" and Agenda 21, a plan the UN has for controlling the world, yeesh. Anyway, that's all for now.

It's our exhibition time

K Days logo.pnghere in Edmonton. It used to be called Klondike days, or just K days. A few years ago the city of Edmonton (coe) re branded K days calling it "Capital Ex

for exhibition. I didn't mind Capital Ex as in Edmonton's exhibition. K -days is even worse because it doesn't signify anything. The K in K day's looks like it belongs on a breakfast cereal box. The K day's parade is on at 10am this morning. I hope to be fast asleep.

Earlier I was looking at bluetooth speakers for my jams but they aren't necessary. I like the Bose mini bluetooth because it has a better sound. At 50 watts, that's pretty good. I can pick up a headphone jack splitter and I'm ready to go. I'm considering the Korg Volca sampler, Beats and the Monotron hand held synth on a account. What I'd really like to get is Roland's System 1m modular synth:.
Image result for roland system 1m

Not much on my plate for today other then making a phone call and watching the Esks/Red blacks game. We're getting some badly needed overnight rain, which is nice. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Just before I began my shift in the lunchroom I completed

reading "Battle for the Abyss." It was well written. I really enjoyed this book but the ending wasn't what I wanted or hoped for. Still I gave it a 4/5 stars.I'm now onto reading Mechanicum, book #9 in the Horus Heresy Warhammer 40k book. The only book in this series I thought sucked was book #6 Decent of Angels. For some reason I just couldn't get into it. So far, I've read 7 in the series as I have all 29 and 2 more to be released this year. I still have the ebooks that I haven't counted as well.

Work went ok and I got some coaching on the new project. its a 5 minute survey and I think I got about 30 of them. The night went by fast. I got home about 10:30pm to catch what was left of wrestling. Anyway, that's all for now.

When I left out of here

for my appointment, I wanted to see if I had anything on a Visa gift card at the Redi mart at Clareview station. I used the card to buy a Warhammer 40K ebook before Christmas last year. Lets see if I can get a 6/49 lottery ticket, a bottle of diet cola, and a twin pack of raisin tarts. I don't know the name brand. They all went through. That was a nice surprise.

My Doctors appointment was successful. I got some medication and my referral ready to be faxed over to my pcn. I had a general check up and booked a follow up for April 10th. After that I walked over to the building where my office is and settled in. I felt good about keeping the Doctors appointment.

Work went well working off a hard copy and made my flow rate. They started part 11/12 of a continuing project. All things being what they are, that was Tuesday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Nothing much of anything going on for today

as I'm getting ready for the week ahead and not much going on this week as well.

This week I'm uploading some funds to my pp account so I can start playing Fan Dual (fantasy Sports) Mostly just $1 and $2 bets until I know what's going on but my limit is $5/week. I'm not a big gambler and I don't play slots or poker. This is something that on paper makes sense.

We change another month as we're almost out of September in a couple of days, a new month begins. I like this time of year. Early November is ok to. After that, is when it starts getting cold. I'm not looking forward to the -25's and windchill's. Winter is usually about 5.5 months. We still have spotted bits of snow on the ground in April around here. It's not unusual to have a major episode of heavy wet snow late April early May. November is the Grey Cup game and the JFK observances. For me lodge wise, I'm almost done my wm chair.

So other then the above not much else is going on. I might be AWOL for a couple of days but I'll be launching the occasional Tweet. Anyway, that's all for now.

Nothing much of anything materialized on the

job front yesterday. I managed to, however get the email contact of a call centre job I wanted to apply to. I got my resume out and managed to email my resume.

I've been so busy lately I forgot a critical Doctors appointment I had yesterday but I was able to rebook for 2:45pm this afternoon. I think he wanted a follow up on the extended benefits package he wrote his PCN on my behalf. it's stalled because I had to edit my health #. If I can get on this program, it will cover my diabetic needs, my vision, dental, the works. It's basically a waste of a Monday afternoon. I'm seeing his PCN July 4th anyway to edit the application.

Anne had went out shopping: Value Village. They have half price days and she got a few goodies but didn't come back until well after my Monday night Raw Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, November 5, 2013

For the first snow the commute yesterday afternoon was not that bad

despite the wind it was still a cold day. It felt Spring like, early April-ish.

I had a good start to the shift but screwed up a bit on the first completion by not getting enough information about the job title. I hope I did better with the other 4. There was also a bit of misunderstanding after the boss had left when the supervisor insisted Remembrance was not a stat holiday. When I got home I checked it out and it is. The supervisor isn't from Alberta and in the Province where the supervisor is from doesn't recognize Remembrance day as a stat holiday.

Anne had made us an earlier then normal dinner because she's off today and I'm home earlier then usual. I watched the last half hour of of Monday night Raw. Going home was a bit icy along one part behind the Matrix Hotel there by the Starbucks. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

I'm up for an hour and then

in bed by 2am up t 10 and out the door shortly before noon. I got a full day tomorrow, then Wednesday off.

Tonight on Coast the topic is about Technology Frontiers. They're going to talk a bit about nanotechnology, synthetic biology. Also they're going to talk about the Mars Arctic 365 project. Should be a good show.

Monday night Raw wasn't bad. On a scale from 1-10, I'd give it a solid 7. I almost missed it last night because I thought I was working until 10pm. I'd get home about 11 as the show would still be in progress by the time I got home.

Edmonton Oiler's Sam Gagner received a broken jaw and some missing teeth from a elbow shot to the head by Vancouver goon Zack Kassian. Gagner will be out indefinitely because of this. The "good news" is that Kassian will be suspended for the rest of training camp and 5 games into the regular season. He should have been fined as well..
Anyway, that's about all for now.

Summer is officially

over and it's been a short one arriving about mid May. Our summer usually runs mid April to the end of September but we still haven't had our "Indian Summer" yet.

Friday the Esks won and there's a slim chance they could still make the play offs or cross over to the Eastern conference based on their points at the end of the regular season. Also last night the Oiler's were facing a Vancouver Canuck team that had most of their training camp roster. Their big stars were out of the line up. Still it was a nice 5-2 win for the Oiler's.

Looks like I'm not going to be putting any serious music together except for instrumentals until I get a better computer that can actually handle the programs I have. A computer for music production. My little Acer laptop with 4 Ram keeps crashing. I bought it before I wanted to get into music production. I obviously need a desktop computer and I hope to get one mainly for music production, soon. I'm looking at a aTMX mother board with a quad core i5/7 processor, 32 Gb ram, 4Tb internal hard drive. I'm buying it locally and I'm getting my laptop hard drive cloned for the new PC. I'm hoping to get it before the end of the year or in early January, depending on what's going on with my Lodge.

Not much going on today. I've got a couple of Lodge calls to make and I'm watching Thursday's Impact wrestling and some football. Anyway, that's about all for now.

The weekend began ok but the pall

of losing our cat Sporty put a downer on everything else. Anne's taking him in for a check up tomorrow but I doubt he'll come home alive. With that said it's a easy day for me tomorrow. Sporty will be on my mind for most of it though but I still got to take care of business.

I think this week Sporty will be a memory. I think when I come home tomorrow, it'll be done. He'll be gone. He's not eating, eventually he'll just shut down. Despite the almost 90% chance of losing Sporty, we still have Silky and Boot's. I'm going to miss the way Silky and Sporty would love up to each other always cleaning each other sleeping together.

This weekends CFL Proline for week #8 went like this: Friday August 16th Hamilton/Winnipeg: 37-18. (W) I got 1 right.  Saturday a double header: Montreal/Riders 21-24 (T) Wrong. Calgary/BC 22-26 (W) I got 2 right. Edmonton/Toronto 33-36 (L) ordinarily I'd have chosen the Hamilton and Winnipeg game to tie. At $2 a hit, it's fun to play. I put $3 Despite the Esks 1-6 record I'm ok with the effort the Eskimo's made this evening. At least they found their star QB in Mike Riley. I think he played on par with Ricky Ray and a last play off spot isn't out of reach, yet.

Even though with Sporty on my mind at work tomorrow morning I have a short 3.5 hour shift. I'm going to go into Audrey's books and pick up that Horus Heresy "Age of Darkness" novel and cash in my book club membership for the other 2 remaining there for me. I think I might have to fork out a few extra dollars but that more or less catches me up in the Horus Heresy series that are still in print Anyway, that's about all for now.

I could have stayed a bit longer

on the job but by 7:30pm, I was played out after 8.5 hours. Its not like I'm 40 or something. I asked to leave at 7:30pm and after logging out and all, I got home about 8:20pm.

I placed a couple of Lodge calls trying to set up my officers for 2013. I have 1 more vacancy but I could only reach 1 of my calls and I have a few options.

After that, I watched what was left of the Pens/Bruins NHL game #3. Game #4 resumes on Friday and it looks like the Bruins have a chance to to sweep the Pens. I mean you have home ice advantage and at home and a 3-0 commanding lead and almost every home team has won that game. I got a feeling it's going to be Boston/LA in the finale.

Today I'm out of here at noon until 5pm and it's hustle to get home and change and off to Lodge. That'd be my 3rd meeting this week and I'd like to go Saturday so I can put my affiliation petition in. Then that's pretty well it until September. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Nothing much is going

on at the moment. Monday I watched the Leafs lose in Boston blowing a 4-1 lead in the 3rd period. Tuesday Ottawa Senators were visiting the Pens. The pens won 4-1. I think the way they are playing Pens in 5.

Tuesday not much was going on. Just a typical day at work. I thought about going to Lodge but I’m looking at going o n Saturday, that’s the most important one for me.

Chris Hatfield returned from his 6th month stint as Commander of the space station Yesterday. He did a ton of science experiments during that time and even sang David Bowie's “Space Oddity” song and he‘s pretty good singer as well. So good he even got a call from Bowie himself congratulating him on the cover.

Here we go again. Mayor Mandel is keeping mum about another meeting today about another possible funding source for the proposed downtown arena but we won’t know until later today. Nobody knows anything but this will be the last word on the topic about funding sources for the downtown arena. I hope. Anyway, that’s about all for now.

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Yesterday was ok. Not

notable but ok. It was just a day into work in and out. We had a bit of a meeting for about an hour, which was very informative just before lunch and that kind of broke up the day a bit. I thought about going over to Rexall Drugs post office for another Visa gift card to order another plug in but I forgot my other gift card I still had funds on it. Instead I just wanted to get home and relax. I cared nothing about the Chicago/Oiler game. I watched a bit of it but I knew the Oiler’s were to lose and they did 4-1. They are where the Leafs are and if that’s any indication The Oiler’s wont be in the playoffs for another 3-4 years yet. I’d love to see an all Canadian team in the finale but yesterday was what I call lame. I didn’t even go to the library but I’m calling them tonight.

So NASA's rover drew a penis on Mars Intentional or no, this is pretty funny. Don't even pretend like you're above it. Because you're not. I admit I had to do a double take but it’s pretty funny. You can read about it here

At least it warmed up today. On the way home even though it ws overcast, it was still nice outside about +11. Except in shadowed areas most of our snow is gone.

Canada Post is about to decide it’s future to save money. It’s no secret that Canada Post’s very existence is threatened by technology. Some of their proposals have been to reduce service to 3 days/week and or stop home delivery by installing community mail boxes and of course massive layoffs. It’s a move to save billions of dollars over the next few years.

Update: After work I went over to Audrey’s and got thalassic the “Space Marine Battles” and a “Horus Heresy” on what was left over from my Visa gift card. I went into Rexall a block down and after standing in line for 5-10 minutes, I asked if they could check on the balance of the card and there was just under $11. Plenty for a Subway next door. I got the 6“ chicken club. It was ok. The best part of this was I didn’t have to break into my cash here at home or my funds in my bank. Anne had to take $20 to pay for my Internet tablet out of my Scotia account. I walked up to Corona and headed down to the LRT platform and caught my train to Clareview and the bus home. It’s +16 out there now. I called the main branch of the Edmonton Public Library somewhat was going on with my account and I was able to login ok. So, I guess it’s ok now. Other then that, I have almost 4 hours to myself so it’s time to unwind here. Anyway that’s about all for now.

Story of my life:

I have "some heavy lifting" to do Thursday night and what do I get? A nice sinus cold to complicate matters and it's too short notice for me to find somebody to take my place. I can't get out of it. I'll be shaky as I'm about 70%. I've got tonight, with no interruptions to "polish" off what I know.

I booked off early yesterday and got some Sinus medication at the Baker Centre and I was going to get a Canada Post gift card to order a product from "Twisted Toys" that make third party ensembles for Native Instruments Reaktor as part of my Komplete 8 package. The clerk said the gift cards are being revamped. I was about to go home so at the corner across the street from Audrey;s I decided to get another Warhammer 40k book,11/12 of the "Space Marine Battles." I was talking about the Visa gift cards at the Baker Centre with my book ordering fellow and he said there is a Canada Post in Rexall at the end of the block. Ok. I decided to pop in anyway and they had the new Canada Post Visa cards. Great. I picked one up and headed back to Audrey's on my way to Corona station to let him know. "Hey thanks man, they have them there and they are the new ones." I felt good about that and went to the train platform and waited for my train home. On my ride home I did some memory work for my part tomorrow.

Anne was still sleeping but got up to go make that bottle run she was going to do. i ordered my product but had a bit of trouble as my download didn't appear. I inquired about it and TT fixed me up right away.

I was to busy enjoying that, memory work and watching YouTube "Hogan's Heroes" episodes to watch the Wild/Oiler's game. The Oiler's dropped their 6th loss as their playoff hopes dwindle. I got a feeling they're about to go on a winning streek over the next 5-7 games.

Not much going on though today and not much in the world of Sci-fy or the strange. However I discovered this from the Coast website: On this date in 1866, a leaking crate of nitroglycerin in San Francisco exploded, leveling a Wells Fargo office and all surrounding buildings. And on this day in 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hoffman accidentally discovered the hallucinogenic effects of LSD. Anyway, that's about all for today.

The best part about

wrestling last night was the Rock/Cena panel near the end that had Bret Hart, Dusty Rhodes,Booker T and Mick Foley.

With this being the 130th year of the typewriter, not much has changed in the standard qwerty style keyboard. Especially when one is trying to text message on a cell phone. Along comes something new called Minuum. Minuum condenses all the keys on a traditional keyboard down to one line at the bottom of a touchscreen device, leaving acres of precious space left to view apps. This is pretty cool:

What's on my plate today? I'm getting a 6/49 ticket this morning as it's a $20M draw Wednesday night. I'm in the office from 9-5 for another long day. After that it's home I'm working on some Lodge and some music stuff. Anne's doing laundry all night, Anyway, that's about all for now.

Sunday, March 10, 2013

I'm having a lot of fun

with Machine. I discovered Machine has a built in mic but I can't use it's external features because my laptop didn't come with a internal mic. My iPad though has one and I can without too much difficulty with iTunes file sharing, can convert most audio to Wav files.

Saturday was my day to relax and "enjoy" figuring out how to use Machine. It's a pretty cool device I'll be using for a long time. If I don't owe the Feds any income tax, I'm paying it off in one lump some.

Other then that the Oiler's are in Chicago this afternoon for another loss. I'm no expert or anything but something's not right with the Oiler's. Other then Glen Sather, Craig MacTavish had won more games as head coach then any coach in the Oiler's organization history. All of this (Oiler's situation) is on the coach. I can see 1 or 2 of the big players like Hall, Eberle and RNH's in a slump, but all of them? This season is another write off. The Oiler's will get better when they get rid of Steve Tambolini, Kruger and get a better goal tender and move out of the Rex. With the worst loss this seasons on Friday. I think other turning points were when Kruger benched Smitty for a couple of games and Horcoff got injured.

Premier Redford released the Provincial budget Thursday. The Government spending "deficit" is after they borrow about $40B with be a "deficit" of $2B. Redford say's this will be the status quo for years to come. Yet, the Tories won't flinch at giving themselves pay raises, while making cutbacks in essential services because of the Tories "bitumen bubble" syndrome. They want us too think the Sky is falling. Not.

Hey, we just changed the clocks ahead due to Daylight Savings time. The day's are getting longer. Anyway that's abut all for now.
