That was my weekend

such as it was. Saturday wasn't that great due to a couple of family squabbles in the house hold. my Saturday evening what better with watching the Oilers win in LA and Max Pizza out of the Horseshoe bar up the street. Next to Royal Pizza, that's a family favorite here.

WWE's "Elimination chamber" pay per view on a scale from 1-5 I'd rate it a 4. Great entertainment value. I missed the back-to-back Oilers game yesterday in Anaheim. Apparently Oilers made a trade Letestu for Pontus Aberg. Aberg is a Winger. Most likely a 4th liner. Letestu and Lucic accounted for something like 39 goals last year. Oilers won in Anaheim 6-5 in a shootout.

I'm in the office from 4-when ever. Depends on how the flow rate goes. Most likely I'll be in the office until 9pm. We might have a few days off in between projects. I'm ok with it. Anyway that's all for now.

Since after Family day

I'm just doing the old rinse and repeat thing: Out of bed about 11am coffee feed cats, computer stuff, clean up ready for my commute and the job. Three pm bus to Clareview, try and catch that 3:05 train at Clareview to Central, into the office by 4-9 get that before 9pm #5 to Corona station, train to Clareview home before 10pm, relax a bit before Anne comes home, dinner about 11:30pm whole watching the news and then a bit of Late night and at the computer until about 4am. Rinse & repeat, 5 days/week, Monday-Friday.

I got most of my T4's for tax time. I just have the pension T4's and then Anne and I can file. Hopefully we'll have our notice of assessment by the end of March and I can apply for my annual low income seniors bus pass and our monthly Leisure Access Pass.

Over the last weekend I uploaded a You Tube video how to use i0s 11 screen recorder and how to get a screen recorder project workflow in stereo. All I did was get the audio as a separate track and muted the video using my Roland Go mixer to get the audio. Export both into my video editor on my iPad into 2 different project lanes on my video editor. Works great. The video wasn't that great itself as I was trying out different video production techniques.

I had ten days off, which my last day was this Monday. And even though its a short week, my weekend begins today. TGIF. That's what I like about my job, sometimes we have breaks between projects. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sometimes it feels

just to do nothing. I'm 3 out of 4 of my 4 days off and back at it Tuesday for a short week. I'll be lucky if I get 25 hours this week.

I shouldn't say I'm doing nothing. I'm doing some music production, trying to get only the audio out of my Garageband track. I'm sorry I gave up my Zoom h1. At least I could get the audio out to a Wav file. I might need to get the h1 again.

So finally the Oilers snap a 6th game loss winning 4-2 in Denver. Nice to see McDavid get a hat trick. Anyway, that's all for now.

I've had the flu over the last

few days not feeling very well. Just this morning I began to feel better. In those few days I've had zero appetite.  I took some oatmeal about 8am yesterday morning and after a long episode of sleep, I felt an improvement.

My wife has been enjoying the Olympics. I'm not really following it since the NHL aren't in it. We have 3 of the biggest superstars, in the NHL Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and Sydney Crosby. I have a suspicion that the NHL pulled out because too many high profile players on team Canada.

Late yesterday afternoon I got a call from the boss asking me in for this afternoon. Anne wanted me to have at least one more day off because of my flu but since the boss said the cheques will be in Thursday as we're having Friday off and the office is closed ☺ until Tuesday. So I have 2 Oilers games and 4 days off. Great. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm having a nice couple of days off

but I have some running around to do tomorrow with Service Canada to get a couple of  forms. Its coming up to tax time here in Alberta. Family day in a couple of weeks.

Ok I'm from the lower mainland. I grew up in BC. Its no secret that there could be a trade war between BC and Alberta. Its been bubbling for awhile now since the PM approved the Trans Mountain pipeline from Edmonton to the Burrard inlet. I used to live about a mile from where the main shipping terminal could be, when I grew up there in the early 1970's. How far could this trade war go if it happens? Well BC fired the first volley by saying that when the 2nd pipeline gets built (its practically on top of the first one built in the 1950's) they propose they tax any further bitumen (oil) coming through there. The thing is the Trans Mountain pipeline was approved by the PM and the National Energy Board (for the most part) The vast majority of land owners did not file any objections. Most of the $7.4B pipeline has been approved by the NEB, which will be built by 2020. I'm kind of mixed on this pipeline. Both Provinces will benefit by this pipeline but if a possible trade war escalates Alberta has more options the BC. For example 90% of the Lower mainland gets its fuel from the existing Kinder Morgan pipeline. What happens if say during this trade war KM decides to shut down the existing pipeline for ahem, "maintenance?" Then what? Hopefully a trade war wont develop but if it does, then what?

The Oilers woe's continue. Last night in San Jose, they gave up the 1st goal for the 34th time this season. By the early part of the 3rd the Home team had 3 goals, the Oilers had 0.
Then surprise the Oilers got a goal. Then another one by the same player. Hey, hey, tied at 3 in the 2nd. We got ourselves a hockey game. Wu who, the go ahead goal 4-3 Oilers. Then in the 3rd, Sharks scored to tie and then they got the go ahead goal and an empty net. Today the NHL observes as voted by fans, the greatest NHL team of all time: The 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers. I watched many of those games on TV. Those were the days. Now look what we have. Anyway, that's all for now.

The Oilers lost

again by a one goal game in Anaheim last night. At least there was no game controversy other then singing the new Canadian anthem "All of us command." The boys go into San Jose Saturday for a back-to-back game for another 8pm start.

The opening ceremonies for the Olympics were last night. I'm not watching because the NHL is not part of it. This was the NHL's decision partly due to the 17 day break in the current 2017-18 schedule. It would have been great to see Connor McDavid and Auston Matthew's on team Canada. Because of this the IOC now blocks them out of the 2022 Olympic games in Beijing.

When Justin Trudeau was elected, i said to myself: "He's got 3 strikes and he's out." Strike 1: His campaign promise to legalize cannabis. Strike 2: The changing of our anthem. I was going to give him a strike 3 for the Omar Khadr case was handled but supporting the Trans mountain pipeline kind of made up for that. I'm a fence sitter with the Trans mountain pipeline but winced when the Energy East pipeline was cancelled. Anyway that's all for now.

Since last month when

630 Ched dropped Coast to Coast from its line up, its been a struggle to find other ways to listen to the show. I'm not adverse to spending a paltry sum to become a "Coast Insider," to get the show on my i0s device. My concern is having the show on for several hours and over time what that's going to do to my idevice. What's handy for me by becoming a Coast Insider is I can listen to the show, without recording it. Any show topic at anytime. And that's probably what I'll end up doing. I don't mind listening to Coast the night after the last nights show on You Tube but some topics don't do anything for me. For example, I couldn't care less about DB Cooper, or ghost story shows.

At this last NAMM 2018 show, Teenage Engineering released 2 new pocket operators: The 33 and 35. These are like samplers, which I find appealing. I have a couple of places in mind to order these at 2 retail stores on either end of the country. Usually these are priced out at about $120. At the moment I'd just like to order 1 of them. I mostly work on i0s devices anyway. Speaking of which I got the latest 11.2.5 update this morning. One thing I wish Apple would address is the lack of stereo on their screen recorder. Maybe they did on this update, I don't know. But I'm going to investigate ordering one of these pocket operators this month.

Anne is off to work on a rare Sunday because the Super bowl is one of their companies mandatory working days. That and New Years. So she ordered us 2 10 inch pizzas and I'll be tucking into that about 4:30pm in a few hours.

I was called in yesterday for tomorrow for my 4-9 shift. Now that the company is under new ownership, with a Edmonton head office, people are wondering if we're going to have more steady employment. Personally I like having the summer off. Our current project is about to wrap up so (I hope) I have a few days lay over until the next project. I've got a lot of stuff to do, like gathering my T4's,
a A1c lab report, ordering my Pocket operator (if it's in stock and depending on what my hours are this week), watching a few hockey games etc. So having a few days off in between projects for Jimmy is good. Even Anne is in favour of this. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Mmm, Red Robbin has their specialty

burgers again with their endless fries. Now that my toothache pain has given me a break. I hope. Anne said since its across the street, she'll pick it up for me.

Since there's no Oilers on the weekend it means I'll have some time to put a track together. It might be an iPad track before I decide to get the capture card.

The schedule wasn't made up but I didn't get any memo about it, so I hope its going to be made up this week. No, it has nothing to do with memo gate. I get the weekend off and I'm going to enjoy it. Anyway, that's all for now.
