this for later but I can always add to it after I get a couple hours of sleep.
Anne's really enjoying text messaging on my New iPad. it's not really new as I've had it for about 5 months now. I'd like her to have an iPhone where we can text each other. I'm seriously thinking about getting us each a couples plan of some sort but I'm not sure yet.

The Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing B-17 Sentimental Journey made a pit stop here in Edmonton yesterday to the delight of crowds. The arrival kicks off a long weekend celebration of Canadian/American Co operation on the North West Staging Route which saw the first aircraft heading to the Soviet Union (now Russia) 70 years ago. It's great seeing history like this come alive here in the city.

I stumbled across earlier a YouTube documentary “Last 24 hours” and this one was legendary rock n’ roll drummer for The Who, Keith Moon. He died of a pharmaceutical drug overdose (Heminevrin) to help him fight alcohol addiction and in the end after all the pills and alcohol and drugs, it caught up with him. He died quietly Thursday about 3:30pm in his home in bed September 7th 1978.

Today is a shorter shift (by half an hour) I've got a CFL game I'm following tonight and its payday and I have just Saturday and I can relax for a week to catch up on my sleep prepare a financial statement on the state of the BBQ for the lodge and the festive board, go down to Canada place and apply for my CPP etc. Lots to do over the next week.

10:20pm: Some 12 hours latter I had a shitty day but my 1 sale was a lot larger then others but everyone was struggling. At least I got a lottery ticket for tomorrows draw and my 1/4 games won on my Proline. I can't complain. Anyway, that's about all for now.

August has been one

long month to say the least and I’m glad its almost over. At the moment its +13 out there overcast with a hint of rain in the forecast.

An interesting side note about the Mars rover Curiosity mission “Black eyed peas,” singer Will.I.am had the song “Reach for the stars” beamed down to earth. The first song ever to be sent (downloaded) from another planet. The song was stored on the rover and beamed back to earth. Pretty cool.

Last night a late story reported (must have been a slow news day) but a starving cougar saw what looked a large morsel attacked a woman looking after her 2 puppies in her yard in the small community of Trail BC. There was also another cougar incident in White Rock BC (know it well) So here I go ranting again but what do these Troglodyte “wildlife officials” do? Hunt the poor animal down and kill it. Now I could see this as an option (maybe) if it were say North Vancouver, would it have been too much forward thinking to tranquilize the animal, give it something to eat and then release it between the Columbia river and the US boarder? Unbelievable. Most of these wildlife officials can barely think outside of the handbook. Is my rant unfair? Maybe but I see this kind of thing happening all to often. Why doesn’t Peta get behind an issue like this? Because they’re not to bright either. I don’t blame the woman that was attacked and she probably would have hoped for a better option then what “wildlife officials” did last Saturday. Trail BC is just 7 clicks away from the US boarder.

I’m not going to worry about my job any more, I can always get another one. Its not going to be the end of the world. I don’t see the place full every night and with all the past employees coming and going and those that seem to show up whenever they want, doesn’t bother me that much. Also, I don’t see a lot of stellar totals out there from my peers either. My place of employment seems to be like a revolving door. “lets use it as a point to something better.“ I don’t know how many people that get a “better job” only to come back to where I work for a couple of months and then leave again. There are these people that show up for a week and then you don’t see them for a month and they’re back again for another few days and off again. I’m just taking things day by day now. I go in put my 8 hours and leave but its when I‘m there and yes I get down because I get maybe 1 sale for the day. It‘s a tough job but it‘s something I can do, it‘s stability.

Last night about an hour before I got home, Anne called Earls and they had a jacket left over resembling mine. She went there about 8pm and picked it up for me just before she got home it began to rain and just before she got within a few feet from the outside door she got drenched by a bucket of rain, LOL, sorry Anne but thanks for rescuing my jacket. Anyway, that‘s about all I have for now.

and made the deposit I had plans for. I should get Mel about the 1st week in October.

Last night Anne asked me where my jacket was, the nice red/blue kind of thing she bought me at Exes cargo a couple of months ago. She said it's not a big deal because the jacket was only $10 but we paid money on it. I thought I had left it at Tim's Saturday after work, then in the middle of the night last night I woke up thinking, no, I left it at Earls Sunday. Anne called and sure enough, I had left it there. She said she'd pick it up for me this evening.

The Mars rover curiosity released a great 360 video of the planet in the Gale crater. This is a stunning image inside the crater looking up at Mount sharp. Great stuff.

I was surprised to get a sale within the first hour of the shift. By break I was at $125 with $100 on card. I got 1 sale for the whole part of the evening shift for a $100 on card. To augment my last Tweet earlier I don't think I had a $400 Aq kind of a day in the last month.

So if your reading this 200 years from now in 2212, this is by the river valley 2012. This is what Edgewater was supposed to look like but the developers watered it down to just 2 towers the ones in the back and they aren't red brick but a grey and steel color and the low floors behind the towers facing Jasper. Part 1 of the low floors is already under construction.

.
I felt better though about my day getting that C note near the end of my shift felt a bit better. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Not much going on today

I was checking out this documentary on The Money pit on oak island. Fascinating subject but when I went to my topics page, I discovered I have 2 topic pages and the video's I put in there somehow vanished. I probably for got to save them but I'll try again and fix them. But here's the 5 part YouTube documentary on the money pit. This is part 1

Later this afternoon the Esks are in Toronto playing the Argo's. Should be a good game but on a Monday?  As far as I know this is the only game in the CFL schedule that is being played on a Monday night, why?

Over this last weekend the Fringe festival wrapped up and Sunday at Giovanni park the Italian cultural club had an East meets West festival where you could be "Italian for a day." Looks like they had a lot of fun. Anne and I were talking about taking a bus out there to the Italian bakery I'd like to go there because it's one of the few places that I know of that has off track horse race betting here in Edmonton.

With so many festivals going on the City crams them all into a 2 month time frame to take advantage of the kids out of school. They go back after the Labor Day weekend, then I can get my ETS LRT schedule back that takes a break from July 1st to the end of the Labor Day weekend. But there's enough festivals out there to go from May 1st to the Labor Day weekend.

I'm making slow progress in my book that I'm reading but I read a bit each day. I'll probably have about 4 books read by the end of the year when usually I'll have between 8-10. It's not a race or anything.

Other then the CFL game this evening, I'm watching Monday night Raw wrapping up a few things and bed. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Anne took

this photo of me earlier this afternoon about 5pm while I was enjoying my burger.
Posted by Picasa

I answered a text

message from Donna (Anne’s sister) and decided to get some breakfast at Tim’s. Kingsley dropped by and we had a chat and I walked with him to the office. I had $75 by noon and did WR and got a couple of other sales. By noon I was at $100. At lunch I had my dinner and called Anne. After work I did WR Ret and ended up doing $175 on card and about maybe $600 for the week. Maybe $400 on card.

After that some of the guys went over to BP’s for drinks but all I wanted to do was to go get my “Fate of the Jedi” Star Wars book “Conviction.” I’m missing 2 others before it but they’re on order. I have the New Jedi Order series, which takes place before “Fate.” On the shelves as a cool boxed Dart Vader model but it didn’t say if there was a voice chip in it. It was a good deal for $25 and I would have picked it up.

It was overcast as a bit of rain began to fall and I went over to Tim’s and got a dish of lasagna and took advantage of their wifi and listened to some Ramone's while enjoying my lunch. I was exhausted waiting for the train and almost passed out on the 5:30pm train home. Sorry for my voice over audio quality:

I got home and got the phone and napped for a couple of hours and got up about 8:15pm. After the call I got from Anne I began working on the lyrics for my track.

While watching the news the biggest news story of the as most of you reading this would have known by now is the passing of astronaut Neil Armstrong. I was 16 on the amazing day July 1969. That was also an Amazing year, Woodstock, the Vietnam War, Charles Manson, First Concorde test flight is conducted In France, The Beatles' last public performance, on the roof of Apple Records, crazy.

Speaking about the Moon landing even though I believe astronauts went to the moon, there are some that believe that the moon landing was a hoax. There was no hoax. Some question that if there were only two astronauts on the lunar surface, who took the photographs? The astronauts had cameras mounted on the outside of their space suits. The critics who say Nasa never went to the moon are all blowing smoke. They fail to take into consideration that Nasa’s #1 critics were the Soviets and they didn’t buy into this moon hoax. I’m going to be putting the Moon hoax into my “For what it’s worth” section only because it’s a popular conspiracy theory.

Later today about 4pm I’m meeting Anne at Earl’s over here as I’m treating her to lunch but first she’s going to be heading over to the truck over here by the U-haul on 50th street and we’ll walk home from there. Anyway, that’s about all for now.

A huge change in the

weather. During our recent heat wave, by this time of the morning we’d be about +18 but this morning we’re at +10. A lot more comfortable.

I can only wish for the same on my job. To be fair they actually lowered the line hour requirement for the source I‘m on. I didn’t make line hour (lh) as I was out only by $15 but the bulk of my sales were on card. For the last 3 weeks I’ve been working only 33.5 hours though. Any day though can be different then the next.

Looks like there’s another provincial by election coming up in BC now. An NDP MPP there has resigned. That’s 3 now, Kitchener-Waterloo, and the other in Vaughn.

Lately I’ve been doing some research on Hanna Reitsch. She was a test pilot for the Nazi’s in WW2.  She was the first woman to ever receive the Iron Cross (medal) first woman ever to fly a helicopter and to fly one indoors. She was also the first woman ever to fly a jet plane. What made her exploits even more fascinating to me being a WW2 buff, was how she flew under heavy Soviet fire General Von Griem in a small a Fieseler Fi 156 Storch improvised airstrip in the Tiergarten near Hitler’s bunker April 28th 1945 a few days before the end of WW2. The Storch had a damaged fuel tank before it landed. Reitsch and Von Griem used an Arado Ar 96 trainer to leave Berlin but who’s to say that the Hitler’s were not in that plane? A very interesting woman. She died young at the age of 67 in 1979.

My 4 games/Proline ticket last night died as Hamilton/Montreal tied. I had Montreal to win. I’m getting another Proline for the remaining 3 games and picking ties.

Well, today is another full day on the job. I hope I have a better go of things then I did over the last couple of days but I’m  not that far away from having lh for the week. Tonight after rework, I’m doing my banking and home. I’ve got a “X-Wing” Star Wars book to pick up at Audrey’s Saturday. Anyway, that’s about all for now.

Yesterday I had a problem with my Google account but the issue is fixed now, so no problem.

I was in good spirits earlier but still only 2 sales all day. I didn’t even get $100 on the day. I might have $600 on the week. I think the reason why I didn’t do that well was because it’s a Friday.

We had a nice thunder storm

go through here over the last few hours. Lots of rain and boom, booms, good stuff.

I went into the evening shift and stopped into Tim’s for an iced coffee. I should have got one of those iced caps/slurppe kind of things instead. It was very warm this afternoon when I tweeted earlier it was +31 out there. Hence the storm:

Wow, Mars rover Curiosity is going on a bit of a trip today. It’s going to move forward for a bit and then back. Very significant early steps.

I had a slow evening on the job but I was more or less on par with everything else but I’m glad I wasn’t there the whole day like a few other‘s were having a hard time all day.

Once in awhile I get asked, “Jim, what are you watching on TV these days?” I watch, local/international news, Monday night Raw the odd CFL/NHL game, reruns of the original Batman TV show and The Rifleman and the occasional episode of “Reviews on the Run” or “Attack of the Show.” That‘s it. I don’t watch a lot of TV maybe 5 hours, week. If that. Anyway, that‘s about all for now.

My wife was all

pumped up to go to the bbq Sunday and even bought coleslaw and macaroni salad. Last night when she got home some incident got her blood pressure up and "marital bliss" kicks in (fights arguments etc.) and over night wasn't a good night for me. We go through these things about once every 3-4 months. These things usually blow over but it meant that my wife didn't come out to the bbq. The bbq itself was a small affair. We might have had 15 people. I was hoping for about 24 people. 3 couples didn't make it and a few individuals. If there is a next time, I'm going to print off some tickets and get the money in advance. If there is a next time it won't be for another 4 years yet. I think with the people there I was able to get enough to cover the cost of the lounge and maybe about 40% of the food. The whole idea of the bbq anyway isn't to make money.

Not only was the bbq good but we had nice hot weather to go along with it. We had way more food then people. We had the place cleaned up and out of there by 5pm. I was home by 5:30pm and brought back 2 pies and half a bottle of Chardonnay. I had a shower and breathed a sigh of relief.

What with the problems (with both service providers) ordering and receiving pay-per- view events arriving half an hour later and calling tech support it's not worth it anymore to order a WWE event. Summerslam 2012 would have been nice to have especially when it would have just begin when I got home.

I have a day off today. I think. I do officially but if Anne is still in one of her mood swings, I'm heading off to work. Best thing for me at the moment is to lay as low as possible. I think I might just head out and maybe chill on the train or at Tim's all afternoon and go into work for the 5-9 shift.

NHLPL and the league are continuing. The players want more revenue sharing pensions, training camp and ice conditions, while the NHL wants decreased share of hockey-related revenue, term limits on contracts and a 22 per cent salary rollback but the one common denominator in all of this is neither side is concerned about the fans. If the NHL goes to a lockout again, I wont support the NHL or even watch the Oiler's unless they get into the playoffs like after the last lockout in 2006. If both sides can get a deal by September 15th and or can get a deal going between now and the end of the year, fine. If the whole season is locked out like the last time, then I wont be supporting the NHL. Anyway, that's about all for now

I'm a day late and a

buck short with this but it was yesterday August 16th 1977 when Elvis died. Now I was never a fan or anything although I did like a few songs. But I recall exactly where I was when that event occurred, at a pool side home in North Vancouver with a wargaming friend of mine. We heard the news on the radio. I don't think this registered on my young friend at the time but when I got home early that evening it was all over the news. Wow, that was 35 years ago yesterday. I was just 24 years old. The news of Elvis death probably held the same impact for me as when Kurt Cobane died in 1994. It didn't register, but Elvis was a legend in the business and like him and Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone and to some extent, Freddy Mercury. Lennon, Strummer, Joey were the 3 big names that made an impact on me. When Elvis died it felt like a bit of my childhood ended, musically speaking. Elvis was never an inspiration to me musically, not like Strummer, or Joey Ramone. Not even the deaths of Jim Morrison and or George Harrison phase me. I'm sure when Mick Jagger goes that will really make me cry. The musical artists that made me cry when they died the most were John Lennon, Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone and most recently David Jones from the Monkees. Elvis passing away was a year before I moved here to Edmonton on this week 1978 and my life changed for ever.

I had a good day pulling in about $350 and a hundred on card for the afternoon. Our dialer's were shut down again and we had a 40 minute lunch break and then because of our dialer's shut off again we didn't get underway until about 6pm. It was like a 6 hour shift that we got paid for.

We also got to watch a bit of the Hamilton/Winnipeg CFL game. I had it to tie and it was up until about the 4 minute  mark, the the Bombers had to make a 7 point play spoiling my Proline ticket. Crazy.

It's Friday at last and it's a 7.5 hour shift for me and off to my bank and then home. Because Anne's been coming home so late because she gets off at 10pm and gets the 10:20pm bus and a pit stop to Superstore she doesn't get home until about 11:20pm and she didn't get home this last night until about 11:30pm, yeesh. I'm thinking about seeing if she could make a pre-made pasta dish so I can just heat and serve. Anyway's that's about all for now.

Ok, I got the place

Ok, I got the place booked up. I contacted a lot of people and confirmed about 10 couples and others. I got Nathan to cook, I got Frank to bring the backed potatoes and propane, Dan’s bringing the bar to Neil, Neil has to get the key within the next 3 days. I’m calling him Thursday about the key to see if he’s got it and then to give him my list of what and how much. If so, then we’ll have the bbq. Unless he knows of a back door to get the key I don’t know about. Then if all goes well Neil might even be able to get the meat etc then we’re going to have a nice day Sunday. We’ll be done by 6pm and home by 7:00pm then I can breath a sigh of relief.

Last night our dialers were going off line several times through out the evening shift. We got a 20 minute break and then off for about half hour break as we were about 40 minutes or so away from packing it up and I had just got a $200 sale. So it was decided we all pack it up and go home. Works for me.

Tonight on Coast: Channeled Messages Author, researcher and expert in Edgar Cayce and ancient wisdom, Wynn Free, will discuss how he found himself in the middle of a series of dialogues with a channeled source who claims to have created the physical universe. Should be a good one.

The NHLPA and players/owners etc all got together in Toronto to discuss and avoid the possibility of a NHL players strike like they did in 2004-05. That season was the first time in history that a pro league shut down an entire season. If this happens it will be for the 3rd time since Gary Bettman took over as Commissioner. If this happens I don’t know if I want to support the NHL any more unless the Oiler’s make the playoffs. Other wise, I might not watch the Oiler’s anymore if the NHL has another repeat of the 2004-05 season and then resume in 2012-14 even if they have a new arena. It’s not something I’m willing to entertain altogether and I really need to rethink this.

Week #8 of the CFL is almost upon us and the schedule is this:  Thursday: Hamilton/Winnipeg. Friday: Montréal/EdmontonW     Saturday: Toronto/CalgaryT. Sunday: Saskatchewan/BC.T  I’m picking only 1 win and that’s the Montréal/Edmonton game and I’m going to put $5 on it and $5 on the lotto max.

After work I went and got myself a donut and a coffee and checked my email about the bbq. Nothing in at the time. I was able to catch the early train and caught the #112 Northgate a bus that would normally get me home as of July 1st 15 minutes early. After Labor day weekend that schedule returns. When I got home I noticed this big box in my room and Anne putting together a new office chair for me and it’s a huge improvement and feels a lot better. About 2am I’m going to pamper my wife a bit and I hope to be in bed by about 2:30am and listen to Coast for a while.

Earlier this morning I cashed in my $10 6/49 winnings the Redi mart had yet to post the CFL Proline picks but I was able to check my email and relax on my way in under some overcast hint of rain skies.

Update: Before break I had a chance to mention to James that I won’t be in until 5pm for the 4 hour shift, so I have a few hours for myself this afternoon. Anyway, that’s about all I have for now.

Saturday, August 11, 2012

As fas as Saturdays go

towards my destination and along the way to work I checked my email made a Tweet and got upstairs to Tim's and ordered my breakfast.

I got a few sales right away and had a good morning. I called Neil about the bbq saying that it doesn't look like Dan would make it and he has the bar. Neil is going to cook and he might have to pick me up as I would like to be there about 1pm so we can have everything ready. I'm calling Neil Tuesday to confirm bar and what I did over this weekend. I'm doing most of my calling tomorrow and the day before next Sunday's bbq. Then I call Anne and she's in one of her pouting moods and said she's not coming, fine.

The 2nd part of my afternoon on the job got me 1 sale and that was about it. I think I got about $1200 on the week and maybe $100 in cards. I had a lot on my mind, still do

After work I went to Tim's and got myself a dish of lasagna to take home and I rode home on the train with Tim. I think I got home about 5:40pm. I tried to have a nap but a telemarketing call woke me up and a automatic survey and I dozed off from there and woke up about 7:30pm. I heated up the lasagna and had that watching some B&W crime docudrama about counterfeiting in the 1940's. Anne called and we had a talk but she's still sour, no doubt she's going to let me have it with both barrels this evening, yeesh.

It's down to the wire the last couple of hours of the London 2012 Olympics. Tomorrow is the closing ceremonies. Canada has 18 medals, 12 bronze, 5 Silver and 1 Gold. So much for our "Own the podium." With a ranking of 35th, all I can say is what an embarrassment. I was kind of hoping for 5th or 10th place even.

Coast has a soft show on Big Pharma fraud. Sunday night looks a little better on Evolution/Jordan Codices talking about the metal books found in Jordan. This is interesting.

Other then that I had a relaxing and I'm not going to let anything bother me. Next Sunday's bbq looks like it's going to happen after all, one way or another. Once that's over and done with the rest of my JW year will be a breeze. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Friday, August 10, 2012

I had a slow night last night

indeed.

I think my days are numbered there. I haven't had a $500 day in a couple of weeks. When I get my week off as of Sunday August 19th, I'm not only going to apply for my CPP but also put my name in for Alberta Works. One of my Lodge brothers is going to get more info on a call centre his neighbor runs and is looking for people. Hopefully by our next regular meeting I can get some details about it. I need to know what my options are because I don't know how long my place of employment is going to keep me around before I get he pink slip.

I was however able to make some calls on my break and I left some messages. I need to contact Frank and see about getting some fixings for the backed potato salad, burgers etc. The Lodge BBQ is slowly coming together but I see light at the end of the tunnel. Dan thinks we might even make some money this year.

Some interesting news on the NHL front. The NHL commissioner had said that if the NHLPA doesn't get a CBA done by September 15th then the NHL will be locked out again. If this happens again, then in all honesty I don't think I can support the NHL anymore, unless if the Oiler's make the playoffs. This would be the 3rd time in 3 decades now. This is Unacceptable. It's going to be a bitter pill to swallow but I'll support the Oil Kings over the Oiler's. If the NHLPA can make a deal, then fine but if the teams are locked out then, that's it. I've got too much on the go anyway.

Anyway, that's about all for now.

I was hoping for

a bit of an uninterrupted sleep yesterday but that never came to pass. I was kind of shocked when I checked my Scotia account to see how I had a negative balance of -$41 I'll correct that later this morning!

About 3pm yesterday afternoon just as I was ready to leave for work we got hit with a torrent of rain thunder & lightning (rtl). The rtl got pretty intense there for awhile. Most of this storm was up here in the East end but as my train worked towards Stadium there was no evidence of any kind or rtl. Despite the mosquitoes (stingers) I can even put up with them.

Sad, only 5 more days until the end of the Summer Olympics. I didn’t think to much of them but it’s going to be sad to see them go.

Nasa’s Mars Curiosity is now in day 3 of it’s mission landing at Gale crater looking at a place called mount Sharp. It’s going to be interesting to see what Curiosity finds, if anything. Its going to provide us with some stunning  images of the red planet and that in itself may be worth the price of admission.

Fort Edmonton is all over. Now it’s the bbq. Neil said he could do the cooking of I was in a pinch, if Dan couldn’t make it. If this is the case, then I’ll ask Neil if he can use his Costco card to get the fixings. I need to call our core guys to bring their own cutlery etc. I’m not calling any of the guys that are out of town. I‘m only calling our core guys that come out to the meetings on a regular basis. The rest they can come out if they want to. Dan or Neil will have to be there about an hour early to set every thing up as I‘m going to try and snag a ride for Anne and I with Nathan so we can just go and get settled have a beer fellowship eat enjoy the afternoon, help clean up etc. This could actually work and I‘ll be glad when it‘s over.

Coast had an interesting topic on Easter Island and the excavation of the statues have revealed new insight into the mysterious monuments. Should be a good show. Anyway, that‘s about all for now.

I had a good 7 hours of sleep although I could have used another 2 but I’m ok for an 8 hour day ahead.

I’m considering taking my week off around the Labor Day weekend as I want to go down to Canada Place and apply for my CPP and other items to take care of that week.

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

I composed this yesterday but here it is today

So I am waiting by the curb of the Kiss n’ ride by Ron’s big clown feet (Sunday). It’s 9am and very warm. Some cars are dropping folks off and picking up others. I’m checking the time expecting Dan to pick me up at any time. I checked and it was 9:35am. No Dan. I went to find the pay phones in Southgate mall and they were Bell pay phones. Ok. One pay phone is as good as the other right? I wasn’t even thinking along those lines. I was sweating in the heat even inside. I had his phone # in my address book in my iPad and some spare change. The Bell phone wouldn’t let me connect. 50 cents for call right? I tried Fort Edmonton Park’s office but I couldn’t get through. Looks like I’m going to have to run the show myself. I knew there was a shuttle bus to FEP from Campus station. I managed to call Dan from there and I asked him if he was ok. He had forgotten our FEP gig was Sunday. I told him I was at South Campus LRT and he had to park away from where I was and he found me and we were on our way, half an hour late.

We got the key and opened up and put the signs out and opened up the museum upstairs and began to play a couple rounds of crib. We played about 5 games during the afternoon as people came in and asked questions. I called Anne and had a brief talk and she was making me some ribs for supper last night. We must have had about 25 visitors and we left at 5pm when they were closing up the café  below us. I took a few photos of my day and some video. It was a good time.

This evening while I‘m watching Monday night Raw, I‘m going to be calling up all the brothers and (all 90 of them) and asking if they can make it out to the bbq (2pm) and what they want and to bring their own plates and cutlery. That way the only thing to clean up is the grill. Neil said there‘s going to be another bbq that the “Masters, Wardens and Deacons Association of Edmonton” are putting on at Freemason Hall Monday August 27th (this month) I saw that in the email Dan sent me last night. I don’t think I can go to that one. I could go to that one as all I need do is to let Anne know I’m going into work for 4 hours. I’ll get my 37.5 hours in and I’ll leave at 9pm catch the bus at Bay station and (next Monday) and I’ll still get my 37.5 hours in. I won’t need to dress in business dress for this one.

I called up a couple of guys already and I’m going to be calling some more this week. I think I’m going to  put some more minutes on my cell phone because I’ll need to be calling some guys at work.

The guys I'm going to call, are to remind them to bring their own cutlery. I'll call some more of them this week. I should have asked Neil to include "bring your own cutlery"in the last message but most of the people that have been out no this. Makes my job easier.

Today, it's a full 8 hours and we're in for a heat wave this week but next week, we should be cooling down to a balmy +22. Warm but ok.

Nasa's Mars rover "Curiosity" had landed, apparently ok. That'd be cool if they had one of those drones aboard so they can fly it by remote control. Anyway, that's about it for now.

I thought I was going

to have a day. I got my bus ok and all. No problems heading to work I had a little trouble with Tim’s because as noted on my Twitter feed, they were training a new counter girl. First she short  changed me, then she didn’t get me diet cola then she short changed me from a $20. I got everything that I wanted. I had my breakfast, very nice and worked my way under clear skies to the +21 heat. I got a $50 on card and that was about it until after break then I got another $50. All doing OPC. I stuck with it all afternoon and called Anne at 2pm and LM and yes they had the Vari-grip and even the Spider capo. I didn’t have enough with me to get both and have enough for Wendy‘s. I got my Star Wars, the vari-grip and Wendy‘s and I missed out on the 6/49 ticket anyway. I didn’t get any sales from after 2:30pm, nothing. Not that I blame anyone I mean who wants to talk politics on their day off? I think I pitched maybe about a doz people. We have to stop calling Ontario after 4pm on Saturday afternoon. At least I got all my sales on card. I might have got about 2K all week, maybe which is line hour. Barely.
But half of my total was on card. I had a couple of slow days but I made up for it Tuesday and Wednesday. I got the #2 bus about half a block away from Wendy’s and caught the #2 to Corona and took the train back to Clareview and home by about 6:45pm.

I tried to have a nap but any sleep I tried to get failed to materialize. I think I got more rest then sleep. Anne called on her break about 8:15pm she’s on her way now and should be in shortly. So that was my day today. Despite my mediocre total on the job today and the last couple of days, I had a decent week.

Tomorrow I’m up at 7am to leave out of here about 8:20pm to get the bus and to Southgate. No Tim’s in the morning because I had it today and Anne is most likely going to make our brunch and I’ll have all of Sunday night and Monday. Anyway, that’s about all for now.

Fort Edmonton

is already for tomorrow, this much I can count on. Apparently Dan wont be able to make it for the BBQ but has enlisted the aid of his sponsor. I've never met this fellow, I have no idea what to expect.

This morning I'm getting my breakfast at Tim's and today it's a full 6 hours. The first 4 go by at a even clip but its the last 2 that drag on. After that its down to Audrey's to get my Star Wars book, then down to LM and get that vari-grip, then over to Wendy's a block away and the #2 bus to Corona and the LRT to Clareview and to Future shop to get an iTunes gift card. I'm kind of waffling on this.

Anyway, that's about all I have for today.

It rained overnight

for awhile but today might be hot and muggy. Uggh, more bugs.

I've had 2 decent days on the job so far. Some days you just can't get it going, others just work.

There's no real big news on the home front, except Sunday Dan and I are at Fort Edmonton Park for the day. This will be my 3rd year now. Always a nice thing to do.

Yesterday Canada got a silver medal in rowing, which is nice. So far it's 1 silver and 5 bronze. No gold yet. Canada excels more during the winter Olympics then the summer ones. But these summer Olympics in London England have been met with a few headaches for Olympic organizers, such as the traffic fiasco and then all the open seats because of the media not attending events. It's interesting though.

Besides our time at Fort Edmonton this weekend, it's also going to compete with Edmonton's 37th annual "Heritage days." I don't know how many visitors we're going to get because of this. Sunday I'm up at 6am to have an hour to myself be at Tim's by 8:00am for breakfast and then at Southgate about 9am to wait for Dan and I'll bring my iPad.

Speaking of which I'm at 8/31 days and already my iPad internet bill is sitting at $21 for the month I need my payment in my bank by (August 20th) Anyway, that's about all from me for today.
