After adding a bit of

BRUSFR in the AUM signal chain my iPad mic audio comes in pretty good. I still want to get the audio from my Rode mic but that mic could mostly be for the desktop.

Early this morning I received the first of 6 Provincial Affordability payments. It's not much but it helps. It's going to help bring my line of credit balance by 50%. One more project from work in February, and I'll owe nothing.

I was up early to pee and contemplating whether or not to go to Northgate but I felt I needed some more sleep all I did was toss and turned in bed and woke up at ~ 11am anyway. The good news is, I think testing the iPad mic with BRUSFR helped to save me ~$50 on that Apple dongle. I think I dodged a bullet there. Anyway, that's all for now.

I got 3 hours for Thursday's

shift because the project was canceled at briefing. I won't know about the next project until I get the notification in my email. When that will be it's hard to say.

I have some medical issues to take care of this week. I need to touch base with my PCN to see about their podiatrist. The last time I saw her was 2019. I also need to make a Dynalife appointment. Plus a few other things. I want my time off to be as productive as possible. Tomorrow or Tuesday, it's healthcare solutions. I need to get CVI measurements. But I need an Apple USB C dongle at London Drugs first.

Tonight I will be on the road to Highlands Hall for a lodge practice. It's for Lodge Thursday. Until another project happens the week ahead won't be a busy week. Anyway, that's all for now.

This is our last day on

the project. We're just calling 18-34-year-olds. Hopefully, this will go for a full 5 hours today.

Tomorrow might be another early day for me as I want to head over to London Drugs and get an Apple multiport USB C adaptor. I have the lightning end one but I need the USB C one for my USB mic. It's ~ $40.

If there is no change, then I can buy a pair there for $25. Then it's upstairs to get a Tim's breakfast for tomorrow and head over to Smitty's for a bite to eat. Then home for a nap.

In partnership with DARPA Nasa is working on a nuclear engine for space travel. Such an engine will take a crew to Mars in ~ 45 days. This technology is nothing new. It's happened before ~ 50 years ago. They hope to have a vehicle as early as 2027, 4 years away.

As for today, I have my 5-hour shift at 4pm. Tomorrow (?) is my morning outing. Saturday morning breakfast. Anyway, that's all for now.

My shift las night was slow

but picked up after the 2nd complete. I ended up with 7 on the night. Looks like we could be doing this for the rest of the week at least.

I'm hoping for a few days off before the next project. I need to get my compression

stockings at Northgate and a lodge, my brother wants to meet with me for breakfast. Hopefully, I can complete both tasks during my time off.

Usually February we get a cold snap that can last for about 2 weeks. We're about to get a cold snap Next Friday. It's not going to be like -20 or anything. I feel this "cold snap" mid-teens will last about Family day. Anyway, that's all for now.

How much work I have

this week, I have no clue. I'm hoping this will go at least to Saturday. I'll have 60 hours.

Lodge practice is tonight but I opted out because it's been a long week. I'm doing the working tools near the end of the degree. I've done this before and I'm comfortable doing my bit. I get a day off.

Today I'm "working" on my track for Saturday. I'm now at 170 subscribers. The above is my recent track from yesterday. Not much going on this week, except work 2 Oilers games, and my BoB breakfast Saturday. Anyway, that's all for now.

My shift yesterda was decent

as I had god energy. I was following the Lightning/Oilers game. In my email was my work schedule for all of next week, which is good news. Anne had gone out to do some shopping & get us some Mary Brown's chicken.

I watched the last period of the hockey game. The Oilers won 5-3 😀The chicken was dried out when she brought it home. After Saturday's shift, I'll have enough to cover all my bills. I'll owe nothing.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Last night's shift was one of the longest

I've had in a long time. I was getting a lot of  R refusals. I was reminded by a Facebook meme I shared on my Facebook page:

Of course, I can't say anything like that. on the phone. 😂

Even though I missed the Kraken/Oilers game, and I didn't make flow for the first time this project in 8 days, I was following the game as the Oilers won their 4th in a row 5-2. The good news is Kane is back, Campbell (our goal tender) is playing better.

I didn't take a liking to Xenquencer 2 app because it looked too busy and complicated.  When Jade Starr was demonstrated it on her show yesterday the lights came on, and it made more sense so I bought it for C $14. I need to watch a few more videos on the topic. Anyway, that's all for now.

Today was pretty good

for a "blue Monday." Not that I put a lot of stock in stuff like that.

I bought Chris a coffee and I got myself a large Earl Grey tea at Tim's on our way to Kelly's place for our lodge practice. We got one more there next weekend and one more at our lodge before the degree. We started a bit early. It lasted for 2 hours. We had 12 guys there. It was a 2-hour practice and I got home at about 8:30pm.

So basically all week it's working 4-9, including Saturday's shift. In which case I'll be paying off my bill at the end of the month. I might even have 3-4 days for my next cheque. We'll see. Anyway, that's all for now.

I missed 1 hour

of my shift, last week due to that outing Anne and I did last week. It shouldn't make much difference to my overall.

I had a full day yesterday what with my early morning spiritual breakfast with the guys. It's just a bring-your-own breakfast-type thing. Anne had bought me Tim's breakfast to take. It was good. I had to duck out early due to working out from 10am to 3pm. Today I have lodge practice leaving out at 5pm. Anyway, that's all for now.

Work is going

well. I've got all this week and next week. At the moment it's project by project. Day by day and that's all I can hope for. I'm good at what I do and I like what I'm doing. job wise. I got no complaints.  The best part is I'm enjoying what I do and that's the most important thing

Other than the fog we've been having it's all good. We had the worst of it the day Anne and I went out for our interview.  I noticed out of the corner of my eye, the bus approaching us, and he stopped about a bus length away to let us on. Anyway, that's all for now

I'm back tp using my

Compaq Presario computer keyboard from 2005.  Why use this PS 2 keyboard, than the USB keyboard? First of all, the lighting in this office is closer to the closet situated near the entrance, instead of the centre of the room like most places. The USB keyboard is black adding to my lack of light. I use a stylish desk lamp, which is like a studio lamp. Second, the Compaq keyboard keys are light grey or cream-colored. The keyboard font is dark. Third, the keys are low-profile keys, meaning they are about half the size of the USB keys. The Compaq keys are still good. I should have bought a Bluetooth keyboard. Still might.

I had about 4 hours of sleep earlier. I had enough as I want to do a few other things before Anne and I leave out of here. This brings me to where we need to be about 2:30:

We have an interview at 2:30 pm. It's just an interview. Senior housing for low-income renters like us is a pipe dream. There are not a lot of options for seniors in our situation. Most likely we are in a cue of hundreds of couples ahead of us. Senior housing in this case is 30% of one's income. I could be wrong (but I don't think so) there are probably thousands of people ahead of us. I'm making an assumption here but most likely this provider likes older couples so they can die off faster to make room for the next batch. And or minority couples. Plus with the war in Ukraine going on Ukrainian couples. I'm not prejudiced against any group, I just know what we're up against. We have other options to explore.

The other thing about this outing today is it's compromising my job this afternoon. Of course, at the time we made this appointment, I wasn't working. I wanted to push the appointment ahead and make it at the time when we get our notice of assessment (noa) when our income is lower. If it was left up to me, I'd rather call this provider re-book at the time when we have our revised noa. But oh no Anne wants to get it done today where I have to waste my time. I don't feel right about doing this at this time and putting my job at risk. Not that my super is worried. I'm good at my job. Anyway, that's what we got going on this week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Lodge was fast

in and out type thing. I signed up to do a speaking part in Lodge next meeting. It's a long piece with some memory work involved. I've done it before so I know what to expect. Also, I covered my lodge dues for another year. It looks like I might be doing a DJ role in the lodge as well when our organist is absent. Should be interesting. Royal Arch in September? Sounds ok to me

Since I got my Rode video Go mic 2 a while back I was wondering why the right-angle audio inputs wouldn't work with my iPad Pro. The mic powered on ok. What's missing? I stumbled onto a YouTube video and it said I need a TSR to TSSR cable. The one that came with my mic looks like the above but both have 2 rings. That was the issue. One needs to go into the USBC adapter but there is no guarantee even that will work. I'll try it with Anne's iPad.

I have one more night to myself this weekend and then I'm called again to head out to a lodge practice. The above is me (the blad guy 😀 at the table with the beer) having a cold beer at the lodge Thursday. I have some public speaking I signed up for next month. I've done this before. So Sunday is the practice. We're holding the meeting at a brother's place off Highway 16 X. It's about an hour's drive outside of the city. I'll be doing that for the next 4 Sunday nights. It's all good. That and I'm back to work beginning Monday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Back to work next

Monday. I was getting worried there for a bit. We have a 2:30pm appointment with senior housing Tuesday but we can take a cab back to our place. Cab fare back would be the price of what it would be for half of the dinner we were going to have anyway.

Speaking of senior housing, they want us to bring our notice of assessment. We have no expectations we'll get a place anytime soon due to all those ahead of us. My fellow baby boomers. Oh well, it is what it is.

I have lodge for tonight and I'm going to have a cold beer. I have no speaking parts. I'm just a bum in a chair but it's good to get out. If the hours are there, I'll be able to pay my lodge dues at least and get my petition for Royal Arch. Hopefully.

Other then lodge happening

Thursday, I'm still trying to get out to Healthcare Solutions. Not just to get my legs measured but because I am looking to get an iPhone 14 from Virgin mobility. They have a good deal I just need some information on. The trouble with going to Healthcare solutions is they only do measurements until 10:30am. I'm barely out of bed early. I'll try and get up before 9am so I can at least get a cab.

Other than Healthcare solutions and the cell phone I've got the Oilers game tonight, at 7pm. I'll miss the game Thursday because of Lodge but there is another game Saturday at 8pm. Lodge is special because our Lodge Master for this year is the same master that opened our lodge the year after it amalgamated. Myself and 2 others are still here 21 years later. And all 3 of us went onto become masters of the same lodge. That's what makes Thursday night kind of special.

The only other thing I'm waiting for is a work schedule. The project we had. Hopefully one is coming if it's the same 2 we do every year at this time.
