All but 2 instruments are installed

in my copy of Komplete 12 Ultimate: Absynth 5 and Massive X. I don't get Absynth 5 because it was in my copy of Komplete 8. I really want Massive X, but at least Kontakt is installed. I'm happy about that.

I hope you all had a good Christmas. I've been so busy trying to trouble shoot Komplete 12 etc I didn't get much done. I took the wife out for our Christmas dinner. I got a new Oilers calendar for 2020. We got 3 6/49 $3 tickets and not one number matched, lol. I got one more software package to get as soon as I get to the bank: Arturia's "Pigments 2." Anne's Working New Years eve. I get to follow the last Oilers game with the Rangers in town. I don't even watch anymore. This team is on a downward slide.

In case I don't get to post this week, I can be grateful its been a decent year full of ups and downs. A good friend walked out on me thinking I was obsessed (me a married man? Yeah right), I put her in a bad spot (Like she wasn't complicit with me?) I lied to her yes, so she'd get the hint I just wanted a casual friendship. I never lied to my wife. I'm still trying to recover from that loss but she's still welcomed to call me Thursday's, Friday's, Saturdays after 3pm, when I have some privacy. Not that I doubt she reads this. January  was my first time in a casino. I attended "Band of brothers," at the church just down here. I got to do some exercise and got my GIS, so Anne gave me a bit of an allowance. I rode a bike for the first time in over 50 years and fell off it, lol. I almost got the Nintendo Switch but had to give it up because I couldn't afford to keep it. I got my own Visa card. I bought a iPod Touch but lost it shortly after. Our lodge had Octoberfest, that was fun. I got 14 badly decayed teeth removed and an upper denture. I managed to get some work. I got a new Sony Vlogging camera, but had to exchange it for a refund. Too many issues with it. Anne and I ordered our first Amazon orders, delivered to the Post office. I got Komplete 12 Ultimate. Its been a year of plus and minuses ups & downs. I got through it for the most other then some cuts and bruises, which over time will heal.

The above year in review, yeesh. So this week, I've got lodge practice tomorrow. Tuesday, bank and a Doctors appointment for an ultrasound set up that same day, Thursday lodge, Friday < maybe> and Saturday off as I'm hoping work possibly on Friday, hopefully Monday, in which case if I'm called back to work, I hope to be working all that first week so get caught up in my bills. Anyway, Happy New Year, that's all for now.

Just in case this is my last post

for the year, I thought I'd get an early start. I still haven't got my full installation of Komplete 12 Ultimate installed. I'm going to try chat today to see if I can get some trouble shooting tips.

I think the only environmental crisis we have on this planet is
plastic. I read somewhere that plastic (if nothing is done is done will out populate fish by 2050. Plastic micro particles is even in carried by trade winds. This from Google is particularly scary: Microplastics have long been known to damage lung tissues, leading to cancer, asthma attacks and other health problems. What's more, these particles often contain toxic chemical additives or contaminants known to change the way human hormones work. What's a good replacement for plastic? Silicone, or a hybrid solution. And this from Wikipedia: Proposed solutions Some researchers have proposed incinerating plastics to use as energy, which is known as energy recovery. As opposed to losing the energy from plastics into the atmosphere in landfills, this process turns some of the plastics back into energy that can be used. However, as opposed to recycling, this method does not diminish the amount of plastic material that is produced. Therefore, recycling plastics is considered a more efficient solution.

Tonight I got Oilers/hockey, so it should be a fun night ahead. Then of course its Christmas eve and Christmas. I get 4 days off  without the wife.😃 Next week beginning Sunday, we have lodge practice, a Doctors appointment on the following Monday, Tuesday is New Years Eve and Lodge Thursday. Anyway that's all for now.

For the most part installing

Komplete 12 Ultimate was pretty decent except I have 6 stubborn products that I can't seem to install. I'm having a real struggle here.  I searched the knowledge base, tried just about everything. I even tried going into my anti virus program thinking my firewall prevented anything installing. The main program I want to install is Kontakt 6. I deleted Kontakt 5 from Komplete 8, which was a huge mistake in my early trouble shooting woes. One of my biggest headaches was lack of space in my C drive, which ad initially 111Gb of space just for Windows. My E drive has 2 Tb of space. So late tomorrow I'm going to get onto Native Instruments to see if they can remotely help me out. This program was 50% off because of Black Friday.

The Oilers earlier snapped a 4 game at home losing streak over the Montreal Canadians at Rogers Place arena. I had other things to do (see above) for example but I followed the game in another tab on my browser. The Oilers are sharing 3rd place in the West with 5 other teams, each having 44 points. The problem here is, the Oilers have 2 games in hand.

Anne's home for the next 4 days after tonight. We're still missing our cat Rusty that passed away last Friday night. lately our weather here in Edmonton has been fairly good. Right now we're sitting here at -6 but it feels like -10. Our high today was -2, and we're going to belike that for most of the next 10 days heading into the New Year. Other then that I've been counting my steps every day. I'm currently at 2351 steps. If its not snowing tomorrow, I might go for a little walk around the block. I really need a micro sd card, so I'm going to go over to Best buy, see if they have some. Anyway, that's all for now

We don't have a problem with

porch pirates and its not just because we live in an apartment. We have our Amazon packages delivered to Canada post. However even that doesn't discourage theft. For example in rural Alberta Canada posts outlets have been broken into. If none of the above works, there should be an arrangement made to have online packages be delivered to someone's home for the home owner there when the doorbell rings to receive the package.

Perhaps I'm jaded I don't know but I'm not excited for this upcoming Star Wars movie: The rise of the Skywalker. What made the original Star Wars was not just the characters and the soundtrack, but the way the movie was written with "The Hero's journey" in mind. I could be wrong but this is missing from after the 2nd trilogy on, although I liked the last movie. I'm not to keen on seeing this one. Maybe when it comes to Netflix

The idea is to go out to Royal Pizza tonight. Its during peak hours. Its just a bus train to University and then to Whyte Ave. Easy. We've done this a lot of times before. I like to go anywhere before the dinner rush but we'll see how things go. Otherwise, there's always the Oilers/St. Louis game on tv. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday the 13th was a sad day around here

as it was late in the evening while Anne was on her way home from work, we lost our cat Rusty. Rusty was a stray cat we had for about 4 years. Anne was feeding him for about 3 years before we brought him in. We're not allowed pets here but because we were here before the current management they let us keep the two cats. I was at the computer and I heard this growl. I thought it was one of the cats defending its territory. I went out and investigated but didn't anything. When Anne got home by 11:30, to give Rusty his cat treats, he was unresponsive. We don't know what killed him. Anne suspects it was a heart murmur of some kind. Rusty even came up to see me while I was lying on the bed before that. We'll get over it but his loss was so sudden. It wasn't like we had to put him down or anything.

This is the last photo of Rusty. Its been a rough year for me, what with a friend of mine walking out and abandoned me without warning or explanation. Work has been slow, then getting my teeth pulled between August-November. In October I lost my new iPod and now we lost Rusty.

Yesterday, while the weather was better, and Rusty on my mind, and after I called Staples, they said glibly over the phone, "Oh we have that, we have that." I walked over there with my cramped up leg teeth working good in my mouth. I wanted to get the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and the Apple Lightning USB 3 Camera adapter. When I got there the clerk said, "what's it for?" I said "its a USB camera adapter that accepts USB devices for i0s." "But what's it for?" I was looking after explaining this several times to find out they don't have it. "Ok, do you have the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, its priced at around $24." "No we have the Logitec mouse for 50." I knew what their game was: To get me into the store to buy something. I wasn't going to play that game. I was pissed. At least I got some exercise. I walked as far as the bus stop across the street from Sifton park school and my leg cramped up again so I decided to wait for the #183 that came by right away. I called Northgate London drugs and asked if they have that same blue tooth mouse that Staples had. Yes they do. The could save the mouse for me at the counter. So this morning I went to London drugs, feeling better with the mussel relaxant in me. My teeth were feeling much better. I got to London Drugs and got my product. To the clerk that served me: "Do you have the Apple lightning USB 3 camera adapter in stock?" He took me to that part of the computer department. I looked on one side, him on the other. He found it. Perfect. Both items $105 on my debit. Sweet

So I walked to the Northgate transit on the same property as in the yellow red path in the image above, feeling pretty good about my purchase and then home

If all goes well Monday, I'll find out if my Long & McQuade order is in for Komplete 12 Ultimate is in. I'll run over tomorrow afternoon, get that and uninstall the old Komplete 8 and, watch wrestling and hockey. Anne gets the computer. At least if the Oilers are doing poorly I'll have Wrestling. Tomorrow could be a good day. Anyway that's all for now.

Great day to get some gambling in

because its Friday the 13th. I usually do good on Black Jack scratch n' Win's 😃 I think today, I'm going to hunt for a Apple lightning usb dongle so I can use my midi keyboard controller with my 2017 iPad. The plan is to go to the Southgate Apple store and then get some A&W and get the chilli cheese dog I didn't get last time. I'm also looking at getting a Bluetooth mouse for my iPad since iPad0S has mouse support. I might end up even walking out with the New iPad since the wife doesn't care.

Some shocking news out of Ottawa today what with Conservative party leader Andrew Scheer resigning due to the party giving him funds to get Scheer's children to private school. The Conservative party (imo) needs a strong female leader Like Candice Bergen. I liked the way she helped to dismantle wasteful Long Gun registry and she is from Manitoba, which could help bridge some of the Western alien descent here in the West in Ottawa.

The bluetooth mouse is going to be very helpful because I can use it with miRack app to "grab cables" to patch them into various I/o's. I'll have 3 locations to go to today (hopefully) The source (shop for a cheep bt mouse) Apple store for the lightning chargeable usb cck and A&W for my chilli cheese dog. Hopefully all three. In theory. Also, I'll be able to watcha bit of Artfx Drum & Bass show for a bit this afternoon. Anyway, that's all for now.

When I called Long & McQuade Monday

about the Komplete 12 Ultimate I ordered (on its way) They said they could hold it in the store for me for up to 6 months. Hopefully I'll have it paid off ($320) within the next 6 days and I exchanged the Sony HX80 for a refund yesterday. There were just too many problems with the camera. I'm going to call ahead but I should have got at Long & McQuade, the Zoom Q2n 4k camera at ~ $100 cheaper then then the Sony. The fact that the Zoom can shoot in 4k is a deal breaker for me. I hope to be getting this after the weekend. What I also like about the Zoom, is that it has a metal tripod holder instead of the plastic one the Sony had.

Its a typical cold winter Edmonton day at -13 but it feels like -21 and snowing. Anne went out earlier to get us an A&W combo burger about 3 hours ago. She suggested because Tim's is right next door to where she works, she could get me a Tim's breakfast combo on a Friday night and bring it home, store it in the fridge so I can have it for breakfast Saturday morning when I'm not at Band of Brothers. I can handle that. It also saves Anne some time because getting to work on a Saturday is problematic for her.

In the meantime I have over 3 weeks off, where I can play with Komplete 12 Ultimate and my new "real camera." Sweet. Also, Sunday on the 15th, there is WWE's "TLC" Tables, ladders and chairs match. Plus, I'm taking Anne out to Olive garden next week. I should get my "pension allowance" as well. I have enough left on my dental insurance for 4 fillings in the new year. I was considering the Nintendo Switch, but I have lodge dues to take care of in February and hopefully with work and any income tax return, I can get the lower partials.  Anyway, that's all for now.

The calendar image below is not meant for

this year but next. I had to do a bit of fact checking before I figured it out. Its an interesting anomaly however.

I got pretty busy last week after Wednesday, what with my dental appointment and lodge later on the same day. Thursday I received my upper denture and other then it pinching at the back in 2 locations, due some bone in the jaw from extractions, the denture feels ok. I even went to lodge with the denture but I never ate anything. I need the lower partial for that. Hopefully with a bit of income tax money (if I get a tax return) I can invest in the partial in the Spring. I still have to remove the denture so I can eat. I can still drink with them in. For now though they are just for show.
I even put the denture back in heading to our staff Christmas
party this last Friday. I had them in on the way to Long & McQuade to pick up my mic adapter. They had Komplete 12 at the Black Friday price but their sale expired the day I was there. So I put $100 down on it. Payday is on the weekend, so I'll pick it up then, when one of their Ontario stores ships it out. No account, it will be all paid in full by next weekend. The denture for now is mostly for show.  The dentist suggested I leave them in my mouth all day, even at home so the gum can get used to them.

The dentists suggested I go back Saturday for a check up. I did and they fit ok. I had to take them out at Tim's next door for my lunch. The denture was a challenge to remove in the bathroom. Putting them back in was ok. I limped and walked with discomfort in my left leg over to 34th and 137 slightly across the street from there and since I had a bit of time, and its not that cold (at the time) I'd wait for that #302 and take a ride to Evergreen. I just wanted to see where the bus went. I had a long wait after I saw the bus head West the other way to Clareview. Wearing my ski mask must have mad me look odd. The #302 bus arrived almost 20 minutes later. I was cold but no worse for wear and tear. I couldn't see much except in the bus because it was overcast and the cold frosted over some windows. It was an interesting little ride. I liked the eye candy on the way back however.

This week, I'm waiting for Canada post to notify me that my Amazon order is in. Tuesday? Anne has a few orders as well so she said she will pick up mine 😃 Also, I could get a call from the office to come for a few days next week. We have a small project but its a day job. If I get a call, I'll go in, if not I'll be more then grateful to have the time off until when we go back to work early January. I'm expecting my Long & McQuade order to come in around by the 13th or the following Monday so I can pay it off. If my item comes in say Wednesday, I don't think they will mind holding it for me until Saturday otherwise, other then that, and lots of Oilers hockey nothing else is going on. Anyway, that's all for now.

Finally a bit of time off for myself

not that I want any but I've been coming pretty hot and heavy over the past 2 weeks. I've had dental appointments and work, all kinds of things. I'm hoping we'll get one more small project for a few days when we officially break next Friday the 13th. One of "my lucky" days.

Speaking of interesting days on the calendar, one of my friends/Facebook friends, sent me this gif:

I'm not sure about the money par of this but its just kind of interesting.

The other day, Anne helped me place my first Amazon order. I've had an Amazon store front since about when we got married. I've never had to use it before. I  ordered 3 items, a ball mount, a microphone thread adapter, and a pair of led lamps for my music production. No shipping, or currency exchange rates. I should get the order next week. Other then that, I've got a dental appointment Thursday at 1pm. Then, its off to get a bite to eat then head out for lodge. Friday I've got a staff party to head out to and the LAK/Oilers game after that. We could get a small project at work next week but I doubt it. I'll know on Friday if we do. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, November 28, 2019

I've got another dental appointment

for latter on today. Its additional fittings for my upper denture. Its going to be a short visit. I'll get a bite to eat at Tim's and hang around for awhile and head for my appointment for Merril, and home by 5pm. I don't want to wait for Merril out in the cold until her gets there.

I'm happy with my new Vlogging camera. What's holding me back from using it the way I want to is a 5/8th thread adaptor I can attach to my Rode boom arm. I have Long & McQuade delivering one from their South side store. Hopefully I can pick it up Saturday. Not sure if they can deliver for just one small item.

In theory the female end should fit over the Rode boom arm screw. The protrusion is the end that goes into my camera, so I can do over head shots. If the one I'm getting from Long and McQuade doesn't work, I'll just order the above. It took Anne about 3 days to get her cat toy.

We got off the job early last night. There was just the 3 of us, including supper. We had some technical difficulties, that would have got me 4 completes instead of the one 1 got. I didn't mind heading home early, although it was chilly waiting for my bus to Corona but my train came along right away. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Finally we're getting some snow

out there. It looks nice. I'm about to head out to Northgate to pick up the Sony Hx80 vlogging camera. Its a Black Friday special. Sd card is also on sale. After that its to Healthcare solutions, to get a pair of compression stockings. Then over to Wendy's across the street, get some lunch and the #9 bus to 107th/101st and the #3 into work. I'll be leaving out of here just before noon.

The project we're currently working on has just a few more days left. After that, its difficult to say if we're going to get another project or not. We might get a small project in for a few days. I filled in my availability for December. Historically we usually break for the Christmas season around mid December and resume early in January. I could have a couple weeks off here.

My Doctors office just called and based upon the lab report from last Friday, the report came back normal. No news is good news in other words. So, today I'm busy, work tonight and tomorrow, dental/fittings and a meeting later that afternoon and or work in lieu of the meeting. We'll see. Hopefully, I'll have Friday off and then its Saturday I have our alternate Saturday "Band of brothers" (bob) men's breakfast fellowship/bible gathering for a few hours. In other words I'm busy. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been 12 days in between blog

posts 😲 Life gets in the way, that sort of thing. Mainly, I began work last week, then there was the long weekend, a couple dental appointments, more work etc. I'll be blogging about once a week from now on.

Today is the Grey Cup and WWE's Survivor series, and an Oilers hockey game. Speaking of which, the Oilers won last night 4-2. Right now the Oilers 25 games in are sharing the first spot with the St. Louis Blues. Lots of sports to follow this weekend.

Health wise, I've been getting these cramps in my calf area below the knee. A first I thought it was a blood clot. The perhaps mussel fatigue. Most likely its just arthritis. Otherwise things are going along alright. I'm keeping busy getting my mind off Mary. I still don't know why she unfriended me on Face book and that was almost a year ago.

Tomorrow, I'll be watching WWE's survivor series, channel surfing the Grey Cup/Oilers game. Mostly watching the Oilers but if the game goes badly I'll watch wrestling. For the most part, its work 4-9 Monday-Wednesday as we're expecting this project to end Wednesday. I got my dental appointment at 1pm Thursday and an appointment after that for some counselling at 4pm. I could be off Friday, and I have a bible study men's group to go to at the end of the month. Anyway, I'll be back next week, that's all for now.

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

I went and got

the upper denture and lower partial impressions. I go in for fittings next week. I'll have the upper denture next month. I should have done this a long time ago but the money just wasn't there.

Personally I think it was a good move that Sportsnet fired Don Cherry. Sure everyone has the right to their opinion but Cherry is representing Sportsnet. If newcomers or anyone for that matter that doesn't want to buy or wear a poppy in  November for Remembrance day that's their business. I doubt Cherry was saying that newcomers are bad people because they don't buy a poppy and support our veterans. At the same time Don Cherry has yet to apologize for his comment. Why should he?

We're going to have a bit of a break in the weather this week. Temperatures are in the low single + digits. So, Anne wants to try this place close to work called Beijing place. Its a bus ride to Clareview station, then catch the #137 and check this place out. Then the bus back and hopefully back in time for the Oilers/SJ game. Anyway, that's all for now.

British Columbia is apparently going to hold

a referendum to do away with daylight savings time. If its passed then Alberta will be between 2 non standard daylight savings time Provinces. If BC votes in favour to do away with daylight savings time, we may follow. I hope so. I never did like this idea of changing the clocks every 6 months.

I worked Saturday for 6 hours, which wasn't too bad. I'm in for today for 5 more hours. I was doing some stats and out  of the 45 weeks we've had this year, I've only had 125 hours. This year has been the worst year in the company's history for work. The project that I'm currently on might last me until Wednesday. There's been talk that we have another project on the go but I'm not sure when it begins. My guess is after the long weekend.

So this week I have a 5 hour shift. I don't know about Tuesday and beyond. We're supposed to be moving our operations next Spring. Wednesday I have my last impressions then fittings. I'm hoping I can have my upper denture done by the end of this year and then in the new year, work on my partial. I have enough left on my insurance
for about 60% of my partial. The rest is out of pocket by $420. I still have 4 fillings. After  my dental appointment, I'm running back down to the office (I hope) for my shift. Then I have lodge on Thursday, then the long weekend.  Anyway, I'll have another post here (I hope) before the week is out and I'm always on Facebook. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

It's out to the dentist for my 3pm appointment

for denture fittings. I might as well get them now because next years UCP budget might cut the program out all together. With any luck I should have dentures installed by mid November. Then I'll belooking for another part time job that has more that has seasonal & steady implications.

I'll be back before 5:30pm to catch the Oilers/Columbus Blue Jackets play. We really need a win on the road. Secondary
scoring has always been a problem for the Oilers. Detroit won this evenings contest, splitting the 2 game series.

Our weather has been changing. We're down into the "0's"
and +"1's" but we're warming up to +5-6's for this time of year, that's pretty good. Thursday night is Halloween, then November. If we can get by November with the average temperature of under -10, its a good month. I've got my bob
breakfast meeting Saturday. I need a stream deck badly so I might go pick one up and a iPod touch Saturday. Hard to say. I'm also making one more phone call atempt Friday, see what I get. Unless its positive, then its over. Until then, lots of other stuff going on. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, October 25, 2019

Its the last Friday

of the month and another week left of daylight savings time, then imo that's the official start to winter. Its pretty spooky looking out there right now. Breezy.

My week was okay. Nothing special. It was nice connecting with my old friend Francis by phone the other day. We would see each other mainly at work but since lack of work has been so sketchy lately it was nice to hear from a colleague other then Todd. We also had our national election Monday. Thank God Trudeau only got a minority Government. Minority Governments here in Canada need the cooperation from other political parties otherwise the other parties for any reason could call a non confidence vote triggering an election. The other day I discovered an open source video production program called Shotcut. I played around with it for a bit and added some elements to my most recent upload. Fun stuff. Plus yesterday I had a meeting with a colleague going over some personal issues. Thanks for the hot chocolate Merril.

So, tonight, I'm taking it easy. Tomorrow there's Oilers hockey and Eskimo football. Then Sunday there is Oilers afternoon hockey. I have a good weekend taking shape. Next Wednesday I have another dental visit for denture impressions. Hopefully by the end of next month I'll have my upper denture installed. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, October 21, 2019

Well thank God that's over

with. The 2019 Canadian Federal election. The overall concensus was calling for a Liberal minority. What that means is the Liberals can't really do anything unless they get support from the other party's. Its going to make Government slower. The TMX pipeline can still go ahead, without the input of the other parties. We voted Conservative and our guy got in by a landslide for Edmonton Manning. Here's a CBC breakdown of the results:

I hope, now that the election is all over with, we can get some movement on work. Hopefully, I'll get a call tomorrow night to start Wednesday and go in for Friday. I might get just 2 days in but its better then nothing.

Oilers are in Minnesota tomorrow night, Thursday night I have a meeting. Unless there's work, not much going on for the rest of the week and weekend. I got a Riders/Esks game to watch at 5pm Saturday, and the Oilers are hosting the Florida Panthers Sunday. So not much going on. I've got another track I'm putting together hopefully before the month is out. I'm just hoping for work. Anyway, that's all for now.

I left the apartmenat heading East to Belmont

dental under sunny mild skies. 16 is mild for this time of year. It was a good walk. I had an interesting chat with Ian before I left. I bought some all day breakfast at Tim's. Then into the dental office and signed in. Too the receptionist I asked how much I have remaining on my insurance. I knew it was something like $2,600. If I got a partial and the denture how much would I pay out of pocket. After a few phone calls and some calculations, she said $420. I can handle that on credit and do the fillings later. I felt good about that. I had 5 teeth to remove, uggh. The hygienist said if the molar is too tough to get out they can break it up into chunks. Ok. So in went 2 needles. That was the only pain I felt. Out came the molar, then the other four teeth in about 10 minutes. I felt pretty good about this. The dentist didn't need to stitch my gums. Cool. My next appointment is Wednesday October 30th. I walked home doing just under 4k from. It was very mild when I got in at ~ 4:30.

I had a good night watching the Oilers win at home over Phili. Finale score was 6-3. McDavid became the second player in Oilers history to notch 17 points through the first seven games of a season, joining Wayne Gretzky, who did it five times in the 1980s. Wow. How cool is that? I took the gauze out as I'm not bleeding as profusely as I did last week. It was.

Anne put together for me some left over meatloaf and KD. I was surprised I was able to eat that. So then Anne told me that the fillings are $215 each. I might have to re think this. I'm now leaning towards just getting the fillings done and a upper denture. My insurance can cover the cost of the fillings. I can always get the partial when I'm working. I want to save the 5 bottom teeth as much as possible. Plus I can get the Steam deck and save some short term cash. As for today, I'm healing working some more on my you Tube channel. Mainly Streamlabs obs. Plus I've got to call my family doctor because I didn't call to re-book yesterday. Friday is more DnB live streaming at ARTfx's channel. Detroit is in town for another barn burner, so I'll be watching that one. Saturday its "band of brothers," Sunday its Oilers/Winnipeg, Monday the election. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, October 11, 2019

For us Oilers fans

this is an interesting stat: The game the other night in New Jersey was the 4th time in the Oilers history that they have started the regular season with 4 wins. As of this moment (its early yet) the Oilers are undefeated. I'm sure the bubble will burst at some point though.

Its Thank giving weekend here in Canada. I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a lovely wife, I have a job (sort of) my health (sort of) my lodge, my music production you tube channel "Jim Shannon on Sounds" is slowly growing. I uploaded a short Dub track earlier this evening. Other then a few unsuspecting bills, for the most part life is good. I can't complain.

Next week after this long weekend, I've got some serious banking to do Tuesday. Plus a dental appointment I had to postpone, and a Doctors appointment to re-book,  and if all works out ok, I'll have some work plus I have the band of brothers gig on Saturday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

My dental appointment

for Monday didn't happen. I thought it was too soon between visits as even my gums from the last round of extractions 2 weeks ago, hadn't healed properly. Not only that but because work might be picking up shortly. I could be called in for the following day at a moments notice. I called to rebook my dental appointment for the 16th. Anne told me there is a $30 charge to rebook. Uh-oh.

I don't know if any of my close friends here in the city read my blog. In case anyone of you do, I don't get obsessed with anyone. Especially my female friends because of my marriage. I have a marriage I want to keep, thank you. I still believe in my friends and I'd never betray a confidence, or walk away from anyone. As for the ladies, you are and always will be a friend only. Nothing more. To my astonishment some of my friends have a tendency to leave their Facebook chat open at the dinner table for anyone to lean over and glance at. I didn't know this until just this spring. If I would have known this, I never would have sent a text of a sensitive nature. I hope you realize this and get the message. I'm in love with my wife, that is all.

It's nice to see my You Tube channel "Jim Shannon on Sounds" getting more subscribers. I'm getting on average of 2-3 per month. I'm even getting likes from video's I've uploaded 4 years ago. My goal is to reach 50 subscribers this year. As for my Jim Shannon on Gaming, I've been messing around with that channel recently as well. I've been streaming "Forge of Empires" demo version on that channel. After a bit of a technical challenge, I've got my streaming software set up just fine. Well, its back to the beat I'm working on in Garageband. I want to try and get this uploaded to my channel over the long weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.

Earlier this week on my way home from work my

sutures broke in my gums. I was bleeding pretty bad for a short time but I'm alright for now. I have another last round of 5 extractions coming out Monday. The only thing you feel is the dentist digging the roots out and that's nothing once the freezing is settled in. My next visit after this one will probably be to get impressions. I'll have an upper denture installed (i hope) by the end of the month.

This last Sunday i finally broke the ice and picked up the iPod touch 7th Gen. I'm mostly using it as an activity tracker for now. Since I bought it, I travelled almost 10K and I've got a bit more to go for tomorrow to round it up to 12k. I'm quite proud of myself because since I began "tracking my millage" I've been doing about 6K/week. I cleaned out my old 5 Gen iPod Touch and I gave it to Anne.

Last week, I had 20 hours and 10 hours for this week for 30 hours on my cheque. Next week for work doesn't look good but you never know. So, tomorrow I'm up early about 5am and out of here early for my breakfast prayer group. Then over to Staples to get a case for my iPod which I should have bought at the time I bought the iPod Touch. After that I'm off to the Urban Tavern for a lodge charity event. Apologies for the low posting here but I've been busy. Anyway, that's all for now.

My dental visit wasn't that bad

and I had 3 needles and 5 teeth removed! The bad news is that my insurance will only cover a upper denture 5 more extractions, but not the lower partial or fillings. However we have a plan for that moving forward. I was surprised that other then the 3 needles (and they were less then a mosquito bite) I felt no pain. I felt pressure but that wasn't bad. I have 5 more teeth to be extracted in 2 weeks. After that its just impressions and then 2 weeks after that, fittings. I should have a denture and partial by the end of November. Thank you Alberta Government 😃

Although its only 5 out there, I had my sweater on open window and I felt pretty good in here. Because its the first day of fall, we're down to single digit temperatures here in the Capital city. Our Sun sets now about 7:30pm.

Speaking about weather and climate change, I have to give a nod to the poster Gretta girl that has galvanized a world wide movement. I'm kind of on the fence on this issue. There are some environmental issues I sympathize with like plastics in the ocean, over fishing, landfill diversion. Those kinds of issues I feel more strongly about then climate change.

I got something going on for later today but I don't want to mention anything until I know for sure, but it looks good. I decided that until I get my dental work paid up I'm not buying anything major, like the Nintendo Switch. Looks like this is going to be a good week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Last night I found the Oilers game

on Facebook live 😃 I didn't know the preseason games were available to watch that way. It was great to see some of my friends and Fb friends watching the game. I guess you can get to watch Facebook live games with your Facebook friends in a virtual room. Plus you can interact with the chat. Its a good time. I like it how Rogers place arena makes the games an immersive experience for the fans there. Plus fans and the announcers kept fans up to date with the Eskimo game at Commonwealth. I like watching the home games on Facebook live. I'll be back next game, Tuesday night. The Oilers won 6-2. Connor McDavid wasn't in last nights line up. I imagine Facebook live does this with other NHL teams. Eskimo's were losing badly at the half but made a losing comeback to come within 30-27 of Hamilton. Its a great weekend what with Fan Expo, WWE coming this evening, the embers of summer still giving off some summer weekend heat for what looks like a fun weekend. I love September.

Justin Trudeau's (JT) blackface pictures released the other day have been making international headlines. So, political annalists are watching for the Liberal campaign to change the channel, as damage control is working overtime. I'm not suggesting that Trudeau is a racist far from it. Keep in mind it was the Liberals that began the mudslinging on Andrew Scheer. What with all of Trudeau's broken promises, and over spending, its being reflective in the polls. Even the Russians are getting in on the act with their Twitter #"JT has got to go" slogan. I almost feel sorry for JT. Almost.

One of the dilemma's I had this past Spring when I got my Nintendo Switch, was how come my Nintendo Switch wasn't being displayed on my TV/monitor? Also the joy controls were not being connected by Bluetooth (bt) my desktop computer doesn't even have bt. I thought maybe I needed an ethernet cable but upon wondering what if there was another alternative to the bt controllers. Is there a wired Switch controller. And yes there is by Power A. It costs ~ $60 here in Canada. That's why I had to make an edit. Anyway, that's all for now.

Best way to contact me

is through my email at jim9shannon@mail.com. If I know you personally I'll reply right away or asap. I need to log into this email. I check my email several times a day. If you know my phone number best times to call me is Thursday, Friday, Saturday anytime after 3pm. The above also applies to you Mary if you ever read this blog. I don't have a cell phone although I should get one. I almost had an iPhone last year but the steady income wasn't quite there at the time.

So much going on in the world these days both in my private life and around the world. While I wasn't following the music of The Cars, their music for me wasn't really a conscious thought in my life but when Ric Ocasek, passed away the other day of heart disease at the age of 70, just 3 years away from me kind of hit home. My wife said the other day even at 67 I still have my baby face. So yet another personality in the music industry from my generation gone. I liked some of the songs by the Cars, like Drive, etc. Tbh I won't miss Ric Ocasek (no offense nothing personal) because I didn't know their music that well and their music (the Cars) never really resonated with me. Turning 70 isn't a death sentence and I'm a way from there but each day I wake up and live another day is a blessing from God.

This week we got (I hope) I0s coming for the iPad on the 19th. Hamilton/Eskimo football Friday. Oilers won last night 2-0 over Winnipeg, plus my Saturday morning breakfast/prayer group at the church down here and Monday I'll be at the dentist for several more extractions. Last week the dentist put this huge cold needle on the inside of my left cheek. There was no pain, it just felt cold and uncomfortable. I'm hoping to have four rotted teeth removed Monday. One is a molar. Then five more after that then I'm done for that part. Impressions are after extractions. Anyway have a nice weekend everyone, that's all for now.

When playing scratch and

wins on Friday the 13th I usually win something. I bought 3 black jack cards but won only $2, for another play. Oh well. Next Friday the 13th will be December 13th this year.

The wound in my gum lower gum from Monday is still noticeable but is healing. My A1C seems to be compromised because as I have a bruise on my left arm, where I stab myself with my diabetic needle. This may have something to do with the slow healing of the wound from last Monday. The good news, is I wasn't in much pain as a result of after the dentist visit Monday. The difficult part about the extractions is the pressure the dentist applies and that's not painful, Its just pressure. I've got 8 more down to the root teeth top gums left. I figure if I can get 4 out next visit on the 23rd and the last 4-3 weeks after that. I should (I hope) have all the rotted teeth out by daylight savings time. After that, its impressions. I'm hoping to be fitted with dentures by the end of the year.

Not much going on for Saturday. At the moment we're under what's called a Triskaideka-Micro-Harvest Moon It’s an extremely rare celestial event in the sky on Friday night (last night). Just thought I'd make reference to it. Anyway, that's all for now.

On an occasion such as today

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention September 11th 2001. Or 9-11. Hard to believe that was 18 years ago. I was working mornings at Zentel at the time. Anne and I were barely 10 months married. I hadn't even joined my Masonic lodge then. I recall how it was a bright sunny Tuesday morning. I was on the #5 bus heading West along Jasper Ave. I noticed a crowd gathering to watch the monitors at City TV. I was half awake, not even barely aware. Then as the morning progressed news of the previous hours unfolded about events in New York city. I just heard from the customer what was going on. We didn't get much work done that day. Anne was working at the Royal Canadian Legion Stadium branch. I went to meet her after work for a ride home as she still had the car at that time. There was a sense of dread of what was happening. Crazy times to be sure. I was 49 years old when all of that was going on.

Last Saturday after my morning prayer/breakfast group, I headed over to the in/out registry for replacement I.D. The good news was my replacement ID was only $50. the ID is good every 5 years. Bad news was it could take 2 weeks to get here. I mean we have laser printers these days and lamenating machines. We should be able to pick up ID right then and there. That whole process should be automated. The good news is my ID (I assume here) is in transit and on the way. After my experience at the in/out registry I went to Staples about 10 meters away. I needed some real pens that had some nice dark ink. I sampled a "Energel" liquid gel ink pen. This is the one. Looks like the cartridge inside can be replaceable but for ~ $4 a pair, who cares? After that I went to Wendy's (next door) and had a Jurnior bacon cheese burger. They completely remodled the inside and have those nice touch fountan menus I used before when I was in a Wendy's in April. The menu now contains a lot more options besides soda pop.

I've got some counselling to do tomorrow late afternoon and continue on for my 2k walk. I might do a bit more to make up for Monday. I talked with the boss yesterday and he told me over the phone, that we will be starting up soon. He will be calling people back. Next week? Idk. Since last January 9this year) I worked ~ 95 hours. January-August 2018 I worked over 650 hours. Some years are better then others. So far this year has been the worst that I've seen. Anyway, Anne is picking me up some Taco Time later this afternoon. Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday I had another

dental appointment. Two more extractions on the road to dentures. Next appointment will be on the 23rd. The hard part about yesterday's appointment was when the Doctor put the needle in my inside cheek. It felt cold and that was in both locations. All that for 2 teeth! They were closer to the cheek, which is why the Doctor gave me the 2 injections. The first tooth was relatively smaller. The end tooth, took about 5 minutes, uggh. I left out of there at 3:15pm and walked the almost 2k home inside by 4pm. I took a cab there to the dentist. I've got 8 more extractions. Surprisingly, even though there was a lot of blood loss, I never felt like a #presidentpussyassbitch! Whatever that means.

Tonight I'm off to Edmonton #7 have a cold beer, enjoy the evening. I have a counselling session Thursday, and the weekend off to make some music. I released a pt. 2 of a drum and bass inspired type thing. Not sure where I'm going with it though. I'll be making another post probably Thursday. Anyway, that's all for now.

My recent You Tube upload

last night was titled "Drum & bass inspiration." There are a few things I need to tweak about the video. The aspect screen ratio is all wrong. Most likely I need to close off the browser in Fl. Studio to get more screen real estate.

I'm not looking forward to Summer 2020 because ETS is rolling out its big change reboot. It means the city plans to eliminate half of its routes but apparently will offer better service. Right now we have 3 buses that stop out front here, the #11,#182, #183. ETS still hasn't released the finale plan but we could lose the first 2 buses. Instead they will be (apparently) finishing their routes instead of Clareview East side, they will end up Clareview West. Its not a big hardship but instead of getting the 11/182 out here to Clareview we have to transfer. Plus there is no bus that goes over the Manning overpass. We just have the #183 and traditionally that bus ended at 9:30pm. I'm at Corona station that time of night sharing the platform with almost 100 people, not to mention University students and other people working part time. I don't see ETS shutting local buses down at 9pm. This will kill business and essentially shut the City down at 9pm. I don't even know where the new bus stops will be.
I hope ETS keeps at least one of those 2 Northgate buses this side of Clareview station and keeps bus service at least in its current state. More on this latter. Preferably the #182. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm up and awake with some hot coffee

here this morning contemplating my day. Like I said on My Facebook (Fb) page, we're waiting delivery of our replacement refrigerator this morning. We're expecting a phone call first. I told Anne they want us to empty the fridge first but Anne said most of it is going to the garbage and that will take 10 minutes. I don't think they have 10 minutes Anne, besides she wants me home today because management has given us a notice to come in at anytime today, when the fridge arrives.

After the fridge episode, Anne's getting ready for work fixing us lunch. About 1pm (I'll be out of her way) I'll be on You Tube listening to 5 hours of Artfx Drum & Bass channel punctuated by lunch, bathroom breaks etc. Art usually posts every Friday from Holland. The chat community is world wide. Anne wants me home today because management has given us a "24 hour enter suit" notice for the fridge. I can understand that.

Other then the above, not much else is going on this weekend. I'll be working on my track, reading, Internet shenanigans and going on my 2k walk for Saturday. Monday, its the CFL labour day classic Calgary/Edmonton and Monday night Raw. The take out burger I had at BP's last night was really good even though its a bit more expensive then Wendy's or Mc D's. They could have given me a few more fries. I like BP's and its better then that salty Fat burger I had a few years ago. So, that's basically my weekend. Sounds exciting? Not really but what you going to do huh? Anyway, that's all for now.

Is this really for real

that I'm making 2 back to back blog posts? Yes and for the first time in many months, as I'm posting less on Fb. Some people might think I'm becoming obsessive over there and since this blog (or so I think) doesn't get that traffic here. in other words, more posting here, less there.

🤔The heals of my feet are heavily calloused. Yet this came as a bit of a surprise when the 3 month old athletic compression stockings revealed a whole about the size of a quarter in them. I'm on the Aids to Daily Living (ADL) program, where I get a discount on compression stockings where I get 3 pair of compression stockings per cycle/year. My next cycle won't be until November 17th. Normally these compression stockings should last 6 months according to Google. When I was visiting the foot nurse at Northgate last April (2019) she said I should buy 2 pair of stockings and alternate them every other day. Note to self.

My ssd c:\\ drive (as of about an hour ago) was down to mb of space out of its 120Gb space overall. I uninstalled a program I wasn't using and back up to 1.92Gb of free space. I was looking for gaining more hard drive space solutions: Do I get an m.2 drive and clone onto that or another ssd drive and get a docking station and clone from there? In the end I think that's what I'm going to do this autumn. Ideally I'd love to clone my Xp drive to a partition so I can use my Works processor. I like open office but I don't want to pay for a bundle of programs just to get one. Anyway that's all for now.

In my decision to spend less time

on Facebook and more time of my music production was an easy decision too make. I'll be posting very few or sharing meme's anymore to my wall but I will share stuff I like between my friends, and comment on their Fb wall's and post a "like" or a sticker once a week to keep in touch. The best way for any of my friends to contact me is by phone Thursday-Saturday after 3pm is fine, or by email or in messenger. Messenger is best bc it pings on my iPod. And of course, I'll be posting here a couple times/week.

Its a crazy world out there what with the Amazon jungle forest fires. The G7 leaders in France, first ever "crime" committed in space, Hong Kong protests, crazy.

Anyway, on that note, this week; tonight its TV wrestling, tomorrow the same and out for my 2k walk Wednesday. I'd like to break away to get a haircut this week, so not a lot going on moving into the labour day weekend. I tried ordering a piece of software from a Visa gift card yesterday but the company wouldn't accept it 😃 I'll use that to pay for my haircut etc. That's all for now.

Apparently we've had about 20

days this summer of +25C and over. Right now we're situated at +19, which is just right by me. Anne's off for work and I get a couple nights off 😃

Korg has their annual summer sale until Saturday. I'm really tempted to get Korg Gadget 2 for the PC.  It's 50% off normally for $300. I've been enjoying Gadget 2 on my iPad but I can get better functionality using Gadget 2 on my PC.

I got a lot of Happy birthday well wishes yesterday from family and friends. Thanks everyone. As for the next few days, nothing much is going on. I got no BBQ's, no pay per views. Most likely I'll go out and treat myself Saturday for a burger and a beer or something, well see. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, August 20, 2019

I get lazy in the summer but

not so much as I don't want to get out and at least get some exercise. I haven't been out since Sunday but tomorrow, I'll be 67 and I'm going to get out then for my walk about.

So when I get my dentures, if the current company I'm employed with has ceased operations, I'll be looking for work. I just want something 3 days a week. I'm getting board hanging around here all the time. I felt like getting out of here earlier to run up to the old office to see if there are lights on in the building. I can even see during the afternoon because the windows are in the shade of the 2 story walk up. Same for the "new downtown location." My next dental appointment is September 9th. I've got half an hour of teeth cleaning, and an hour in the chair to possibly pull 4 teeth and impressions for my upper dentures (I'm hoping).

Other then the above, my birthday today plus my 2k walk about for tomorrow and Friday plus Artfx's DnB channel, Esks/Winnipeg. I'm out visiting a friend Saturday to place a small Amazon order on his account and maybe go out for some lunch. Anyway, that's all for now.

I attempted a live stream earlier on my channel

Shannon on Sounds but I failed to hit the "Go live" button. I don't want to do another live stream because Anne's going to call at any time. So, I'll have to start again from there after she calls.

It took a couple of days but the bleeding in my gums have stopped. My trip to the dentist isn't something that I want to do all the time but my experience wasn't that bad.

My trip to the dentist isn't something that I want to do all the time but my experience wasn't that bad. I'm going to try and get as many teeth out as I can endure the next time. I felt no pain, just the pleasure of having the teeth extracted. There will be no root canal's at least. My trip to the dentist isn't something that I want to do all the time but my experience wasn't that bad. Tomorrow, I'm leaving out of here about 2pm to get my haircut at Abe's and then to Londonderry mall food court. Then check out Lids. They have an Oilers pullover I'm interested in getting for ~$60. Then if there's time I'll go into 66 get a cold beer and catch the first half of the Eskimo/Argo's game. Maybe spend $5 on the vlt's if there's time.

That was quite the ordeal

at least for me yesterday. I hadn't been to a dentist in over 20 years. I had some breakfast earlier at Belmont Tim's, then checked in. I had a long wait and they were running behind on the teeth cleaning. The hardest part of the visit was the teeth cleaning, because I had to swallow back up water every 30 seconds and I had some pain in some areas for when they needed to use the water pressure to break up a lot of tarter back up that formed into stone like material. They were running on Alberta Government time and could only get about 1 hour of the 1.5 hours they needed for cleaning.

I was really nervous about the extractions part. The major problem tooth had a long root. Almost an inch in length. I felt the Doctor put pressure on me but I didn't feel any pain. The other extraction was about half an inch and it went by really fast, including the stitching. I was there for about 2 hours. Anne came over and picked me up and my next visit (September 9th) will be to finish the cleaning and a couple more extractions.  At least I know what to expect. They gave me some gauze to work with. I'm not allowed to rinse until after 24 hours, which will be at 3pm this afternoon. Salty lukewarm water. We took a cab home. I was holding up ok but got into some pain about 7pm last night once the initial sedative wore off. I took a couple of pain killers and that got me through the night even though my gums were bleeding, but not like a nosebleed. I was able to sleep alright. I'm okay now. All in all my dental experience was pretty good. The Alberta Government pays for everything. Hopefully before the end of the year I'll have full dentures. I'm just worried on how fragile they will be.

Tonight, I'm watching Smackdown from Toronto. Wednesday out on my walk. Thursday I'm home, Friday Artfx/Eskimo's/Argo's. Looking forward to this one. Saturday is our lodge bbq but it doesn't look like I'll be able to snag a ride. We're all the way out South West Edmonton. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, August 10, 2019

Monday my dental appointment

is for 12:45pm. Anne wants me to get something from Tim's, which is almost next door. First thing the Doctor is going to do is clean my teeth. Then come the 3 extractions. I just hope there are no root canal's because they are about $2,500 and the Alberta Government only gives me $5k to work with. If its necessary we can dip into the Visa and our savings. I'll find all of this out Monday. I'm looking forward to this in some ways and other ways not.

Last nights CFL football game between Ottawa/Eskimo's was a real defensive battle. The visitors kept the game within 2 points. 10-12. We coughed up 3 opportunities to go for a field goal and we turned the ball over on downs a couple of times. Finally we scored a major but we couldn't get the 2 points for the conversion. It was 12-16 in the 4th quarter. Ottawa had possession of the ball with seconds on the clock but on their finale play after thwarting them several times with incomplete passes, we won on an incomplete pass. What an exciting game. We even had WWE's Roman Reigns do the ceremonial coin toss because before the wrestler became a WWE Superstar he was an Edmonton Eskimo football player in 2008. He only played 5 games, but still. Thanks Joe. Right now we're still 4th in the West. Up next we're in Toronto next Friday.

I'm going to be working on a Drum & Bass track today and Sunday is Summerslam and my 2k walk. Next week I have my big dental appointment Monday. Plus my 2k walk every other day and healing for that week. Saturday I have a lodge bbq. That's if I'm able to eat anything substantial. I have a full week ahead. Anyway that's all for now.

The 2nd plumber said there

is nothing wrong that he could tell. The trouble isn't here. The leak is coming from downstairs in a leak there because we have our shower on. "I'll investigate and get back to you," or something like that.

Maybe smoking her out
will wake her up. Does she read my blog? I don't know. When will I attempt "to smoke her out?" Most likely around early October. How will I do this if she doesn't read this blog? By way  of a friend. I won't name this person publicly. If this person wont respond to my phone call and talk with me over the phone then, I'll be forced to tell to those close to her that live with her what happened over those last 9 months last year. They need to know. Some of those secrets would put her in an awkward spot. You can call me, Thursday, Friday, Saturday after 3pm.

I'll have 2 dental appointments (in the same day) next Monday for teeth cleaning. I hope I'll have enough in this fund the Alberta Government gives me to cover extractions and full dentures. I have 3 extractions. I just hope I have no root cannel surgery. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, August 5, 2019

That was one heck of rain storm

we had about 7:30earlier this evening. We had lightning, thunder the works. While it wasn't as bad as Friday, it was still intense.

Tomorrow I'm going to call Healthcare solutions as I think I have one more pair of compression stocking in my Aids to Daily living Cycle at the $12 price or whatever it is. I'll call first. If I can pick up the stockings, I'll get my haircut at Abe's North town (across the street) and then into Wendy's for some lunch. I might get that done tomorrow. Well, that's the plan hopefully. Anyway that's all for now.
