which could be good or bad, depends on your point of view as a resident here. At the moment its -7 and if I was on pension, I'd call in sick. I'm not yet, so I can't. Next week we're supposed to go into the -15's. It's been a rough month for us what with losing Boots.
The Oilers went from 2nd place in the West just a few days ago down to 5th in the standings. This team's main problem is they have only one line that can score goals: Connor McDavid's line. The rest of the guys aren't scoring. I knew this would happen to us eventually. Its my feeling that the Oilers will be hovering around 9th in the West in March, in and out per game. The last game of the 2016-17 season will be a back to back weekend pair of games with the Canucks. Just a gut feeling but the Oilers will squeak into a playoff position but just by 1 game and 1 goal down to a shoot out.
I'm more or less happy with the PM's decision yesterday that saw approval for a couple of pipelines. It was the right decision to pull out of the Northern Gateway. He gave the green light for the Burnaby Trans Mountain pipeline, and the Edmonton/Wisconsin pipeline. There are a lot of hoops to go through first and I'm not holding my breath the 2 pipelines will get underway, anytime soon. Its good news for Alberta though.
Ok, my schedule for the rest of this week, is looking good. my last day today at the South side job for this week. I got my 3 days in. Then I got lodge tomorrow as its our installation. Then I'm working at the West end job Friday and Saturday, and that is confirmed. Hopefully I can get a full day out of Saturday. I've got possibly 3 weeks to go for December. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been very windy during my commute
lately as the wind is biting and bitter. Its almost toque type weather but its supposed to warm up later today. At least the days are getting longer.
Robert J Sawyer is coming to town after a year absence. His recent book, "Quantum night" will be out. I've been buying his books over the last 7 years that I've been a fan and I've got all of these books autographed:

He'll be at Audrey's books here in Edmonton Wednesday March 9th to give a reading of his recent book and to sign copies. For this event Audrey's usually gets about 30-50 people out. His books are the only hard cover books that I'll buy. Its a fun night. I might end up picking up not only his book but also the Space Marine Battles "Flesh Terrors" in Trade and maybe a Western as well.
Korg recently released its Gadget 2 for all i0S devices that have i0S 8 or higher. I've got the space for it on iPod Touch but not on the iPad and the iPad hasn't been updated because Anne has it loaded with cat video and photos and she doesn't want to have them removed. I'm going to have to take at least 2Gb off and transfer onto a usb stick. Gadget 2 is at half price right now and is a good time to buy.
I have a day off Thursday and a chance to watch the Oilers lose, again. Then its Friday 4-9:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 10-6pm and I'm working (or hope to) 7 straight days except Good Friday and East Monday and of course Wrestlemania. Anyway that's all for now.

I don't often talk about
religion here but hearing the Pope talk about Trump and saying that he is not a good Christian because he want's to put up walls instead of building bridges. First of all Pope boy, no Christian has the right to tell another Christian how strong his faith is or if he's a good Christian or a bad Christian. That's between man and God. You of all religious leaders should know better. Second, if you want to talk about building walls the Vatican is all about walls. We call that hypocrisy. I'm not a fan of Trump or the Pope, but I can almost smell the Vatican damage control team wheels working overtime.
Blog update:
What with our very unseasonably warm weather this year (since November 2015) we've been having it pretty well off temperature wise. Normally though for this late in the month we should be about where we are at this hour. Since January we've been holding steady at 0 - 5 more or less. This has been one of the coldest starts to the day for this time of day in a long time:

By now the world has seen the baby Dolphin selfie shot taken on a beach in Argentina. Beachgoers the other day crowded around a baby Dolphin passing the poor thing from one of beachgoer to the other. Too stupid to see the Dolphin in distress that needed to get back into the water to breath, these idiots continued to think it was a joke. These turds crowded for selfies on the beach not thinking of the animals needs and eventually the baby Dolphin died. The carcass left to rot. What a despicable bunch of turds on the planet, stupid people. I hope Argentina gets world wide condemnation.
Well that was my day off yesterday. Lodge was good. I got a ride home after it was over, and home shortly after 10pm. I'm in the office today from 4-9:30pm, all day Saturday but I want to leave out of there by 3:30pm Sunday for Fastlane. Anyway, that's all for now.
