We had a huge thunder

lightning storm last night at about 10pm. Quite impressive. The storm lasted for about half an hour. When I woke up this morning, it was all sunny outside.

I uploaded another track to my YouTube channel. The track is in the Boom bap style, using Remix Live. Next time I'm going to do some camera production stuff, next week. 

Tonight it's game 5 of the "Battle of Alberta" at the Saddle dome. I doubt the Flames are going to be taken out in 5 games but we have a chance at closing this series out as the Oilers lead 3 games to 1. Anything can happen. That's all for now.

The Oilers advanced to the 2nd round

of the NHL 2022 playoffs and are now playing against Calgary Flames, not seen in playoff hockey in over 30 years. Flames took game 1 but the Oilers took game 2 last night 5-3. What a game. Game 3 is at Rogers place arena tomorrow night.

I uploaded my Berlin dub-style jam yesterday. That was after I found Remix Live. I'm playing with that now, as I canceled my Launchpad subscription for Remix Live. Now I'm working on a Boom Bap-type beat. Should be fun. 

We're right in the early part of the Victoria Day long weekend. It's +16 under sunny skies. So far no signs of work. In the 8 years, I've been with Y-station, we've always had a project to work on in May. Until now. Not sure when we're going to have another project. Anyway, that's all for now.

I think I'm going to write less in my daily

I had a sleeping pill in my system overnight last night heading into bed at about 4:30am. I was up early Saturday due to BoB starting. Anne had bought me Tim's breakfast to take along. I woke yesterday at 12:45pm 😀. Best 8 hours of sleep I had in a long time. 

At 1pm I watched a stream in "The Sound test room" on the Beats step Pro. Chatting with the gang there is always a good time. For the rest of my Sunday afternoon, I was working on my Berlin-style Dub track in Fl Studio using sounds from Launchpad but Fl. Studio wouldn't accept those Wav files. So I returned to Launchpad. Also, after 2 years of use, I canceled my Output Arcade subscription. It was just getting too expensive. I sighed up for Launchpad premium instead and they sync with Amplify studio as there seems to be a bit of overlap. I might cancel Ampify Studio and just go with Launchpad and Splice, although I'm looking at Zenbeats as well. IDK yet.

Anne made her usual Sunday brunch as we missed it last Sunday when I took her out to Smitty's for Mother's Day. Still working on my track after brunch. About 9pm while it was still light outside, I decided to go for a walk inside this building and the other one facing the church and back again.

I also wanted to catch the last period of the Dallas/Flames game. It went into OT. Calgary scored which means there will be a "Battle of Alberta" in the Playoffs.  That series begins on the 18th of this month.

Not much going on this week, except the 2 Oilers/Flames game. Depending on how I feel, I might end up going downtown to Commercial lodge on Saturday as they Tyle at 1pm. The last time I was there was before the pandemic. I need to get out to lodge more. Like I said, I'll be posting 2-3 times a week in here. Anyway, that's all for now.

I might not have work

but at least I'm watching lots of hockey. Speaking of which the Oilers could face elimination Thursday night. After LA won game #1 I figured LA in 5, that the Oilers would win at least 1 playoff game. Surprise, they won 2. Games #2 and #3. LA tied the series at 4 Sunday and won last night. Usually, a team that takes game 4 in the playoffs ~ 85% wins the series. The Oilers will be playing desperation hockey Thursday. Oilers are great during the regular season but choke in the playoffs.

I took Anne out for Mothers day Sunday for brunch at Smitty's just up the street. It was a nice day until the Oilers lost. 

The good news is I have my Camlink 4k and my Sony camera synched and working together. I did ~ a 35min test video and the camera did not overheat and Camlink never shut down on me. Knowing my luck during production Camlink etc will shut down on me. Anyway that's all for now.

Its been a nice week

so far. Monday the Oilers lost Game 1 of the playoffs. Tuesday I went to Northgate to get my compression stockings and blood test. I got 5k steps on the day. Wednesday, the Oilers won 6-0 over LA Kings. I just took it easy yesterday. Tonight it's game 3 Oilers @ LA Kings. Yesterday we got the warmest day this year at +23😃 but we're cooling off this weekend.

The Johny Depp court case is still going on. I'm leaning towards the ex-wife in this. IDK why though. The War in Ukraine continues. Most likely Putin will announce a big Victory before May 9th. I was able to break 100 subscribers on my YouTube channel. I'm going to go for 125 in May. My Doctor called me saying everything is ok with my blood test but my cholesterol is a bit high. This mothers day weekend Anne and I are going out. Hopefully. Anyway, that's all for now.

April has been a colder

month around here. I've never seen it this cold in April before and this month looks like it's no better.  We usually have the leaves budding out by now.

Another anomaly of the last few weeks is my casual job usually has projects and I'd have work about now. The boss thinks that this month's work prospects could be slim to none. What's even as discerning is that in market research, it's not unusual to be winding projects down by the end of June. So far this year, I've had ~ 83 hours of work. I'm not going to go out and look for anything new. If we just have one or two projects in October/November that helps out my pension next year. Last year I made more than I wanted and I'm somewhat nervous about my pension when the Feds adjust it in September. I'm sure I'm going to take a bit of a hit.

Anne and I have been invited to renew our lease here at Wyndham Crossing. So we're going to go to the office mid-afternoon today and sort that out. So far it's clean and quiet living here and at least our rent won't change. After that, we're going to go to Earls for dinner and then home. I'm going to try out the walker as well and see how that works for me.

Tonight it's Game #1 LA Kings/Edmonton Oilers for the first 2 then it's Oilers in LA for the next 2 and then 1 here there etc. I suspect this series will go to a game #7 and I predict it will be LA in 7. Anyway, that's all for now.
