I headed out of here last night about 9:10pm

to meet my wife, at Bay station. I took this video last night as I was waiting for the bus just outside my place. It's not a very long video. You'll notice a bus shelter across the street towards the end of this video. That's where I get off every night to cross by the lights home.

I brought $75 bucks with me. She met me moments before the train pulled in and ten minutes later we were walking towards Rexall It cost me right off the bat $24 to get in for 2 of us. Some metal band playing, which I didn't recognize.Anne was like in a daze watching everything. She had a pizza and she was just wandering around aimlessly. The crowds were almost shoulder to shoulder. I felt pretty much I was just there to pay. We walked and walked and My left foot was cramping up. She got Pizza, ice cream, fudge, Pizza, french fries. I don't like walking and eating like that. We looked at rides and fireworks, which I liked. I didn't eat anything by this time. Later towards the end we watched this one ride called "Skyscraper." Anne was utterly captivated by it. I didn't get a video because it was too dark. But "Skyscraper" had a line up of about 20 people. What it is, is 2 tapered like crane structures attached to a tower of about maybe 300 feet. Like a pinwheel. There's an alcove seat much like a ski left that harnesses riders inside at each end. This thing just spins around 3 times. At the end of the last spin, the riders are at the bottom, while the others are at the top enjoying the view. At the end of your Skyscraper "experience" you get a DVD to mark your 30 second ride. Now get this: The ride itself is $75 for about 30 seconds! And people walk away happy. And there's a recession going on? After that we went to the Agricom pavilion. More walking. So we went to the casino and I put $5 in to play some slots. I had fun and won a few more credits. I bought a corn dog ($5) Everything food wise at the X is $5. On the way out we looked around some more. The military had a few things on display. The crowds were significantly thinned out by this time. I bought an ice cream. Anne wanted to look around some more but it was closing on 1am and I didn't want to miss that last train home. For the most part except for the ride and in the pavilion, Anne was caught in a spell, so talking to her about the things going on was an exercise in futility. After the ice cream it was time to go. Most of the vendors were closing up shop anyway. We caught the train back to Clairview. A couple of guys were on the bus with us as I was looking for a wifi connection. They befriended us for the moment and one of them ake what I was looking for on the net in particular. "The results from the Stamps/Riders game." A few minutes later he replied Riders 18/Calgary 22. It was a close game but my 3/4 winning streak came to an end. That was a long shot anyway for the Riders. It looked good on paper. I ended up spending $55 on the night. We were there for an hour and a half. We both agreed that it was kind of a waste of money but we wont need to go back there for another couple of years. I had fun, Anne had fun. So it wasn't a total loss. At least we went.

I'm left with $40 which I plan on saving for the weekend. I think I might be in a position to get MM 17 next weekend. I need to find out if there's a service and a currency conversion fee. I have $43 cash on hand. I get a full check plus bonus money for a total of $390. The feds might take off $47, so I should be left with about $345. More or less. Anne will get her weekly $220 and I should have about $125 remaining. Plus if I can keep this $40 I should have roughly $165 remaining. All I need is $150. The card itself will cost me $20 + $115 for the program, +$3 service fee and a $3 fee (?) for currency exchange. Total:$141. I'll have about $25 left over. This could work.

Four days may not seem like a lot

but at 8 hour days doing this kind of work, is. Plus I have another 4 today for a total of 36 hours on the week. I had a good afternoon. I got my 6/49 ticket and at the 2nd half got to watch some of the Montreal/Hamilton game. T-Cats won that one, so that meant 2/4 on my ticket. The Argos/Edmonton game was in progress and it looked like at the late stages in the first half the Argos were going to take it. I went to my bank and hurried home. About 8 minutes left and the Argos challenged a touch down play that was in their favour but the Esks won by 1 point. 3/4 games in but I don;t think I won because the games need to be won by 3 points. I'm not 100% sure on this. Now all that remains is just 1 game and it's a huge upset if the Riders (even at Home) can win. I might be able to win $58 bucks, Maybe.

Another old building in the downtown core is about to meet the wrecking ball: It's the 1963 Montreal bank building. It's not a historical building but the scaffolding was up this evening and workers were hard at work on it taking advantage of extra daylight.

Ok, maybe maybe this wont be so bad this evening. All I just need to do is to pay my way and Anne's way in ($12 each) and buy her a piece of pizza or something. I could be looking at $40-50 in which case if I save what I can, I could be in a position to get MM17 next weekend. Well, August 8th. The post office had the visa gift cards out. So if I can save $30 and put $100 on, I might be in business. I'll need at least $160 so I wont be there yet. Best I could do is get the funds August 15th, I'm still at least 20 days away from purchasing MM17. Anyway, that's all for now.

As nice as Linux is

its not very user friendly. For instance in Windows when you need to download something it walks you through a process. Linux it's a few steps more and in some case you have to know some code. For audio, Windows/Mac uses something called Asio. For Linux it uses Jack/D. There's a version of this for Windows as well and is probably more user friendly then Linux. As cool as the programs in Linux are for DAW's etc, the process to get them configured is really complicated and way over my head. Most popular audio interfaces aren't even supported by Linux because most things in Linux are open sourced.

I had a great day yesterday on the job, except for a certain little Troll, who has an attitude problem and a huge chip on his shoulder. At break I was wandering around noticing the Troll and Gary on cell phones. I said something just to be friendly "Wow look at all the cell phones!" I was being rhetorical and it had nothing to do with the Troll but he has his head so far stuck up his ass, he thought it did. He got scolded for having his shirt off before the break for a reason I don't know, nor less care. So now he's going around saying how some of the supervisors are soft because he's probably PO'd he got moved off taps. I'm thinking about making a complaint to the boss when he comes back about the Troll. Even people after shift I rode down the elevator with thought the Troll lost it. Anyway I got a $30 bonus for my work ethic earlier. I came within $15 on card from claiming $50 but there wasn't enough time in the shift.

Also, we had the BC/Winnipeg game on and I picked Winnipeg to win, which they did 21-25. It was close. Then there are 2 games tonight: Esks/Argos (Esks to win) and Montreal/Hamilton. Hamilton to win. The last game is Calgary/Sk Riders to win. If the other 3 games are all correct I could win $58!

It's been a heck of a week. North of the US boarder we're all here are kind of watching the financial situation in the US Debt day deadline. Things could get interesting in the next 5 days. Both sides are blaming the other and playing politics with each other.

I've been posting some comments over there on the Connect 2 Edmonton forum about the downtown new arena and one of the posters suggested that if katz wants the $100M bad enough why not just use his line of credit? Makes sense to me. The Province suggested earlier this week that something called the MSI fund could be used to fund the arena. I hope it gets built.

Sunday at least, Coast has a decent show on Ancient aliens. Cool. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Apparently the Norway shooter

that killed 76 teenagers and 7 others in the Oslo bombing was a Freemason. Now watch I'm going to get a lot of that at work today. "Yeah like your an expert." So if a guy from say Amway, that kills a bunch of people its Amway's fault. Watch the blame game now. The guy was a right wing extremists and felt that Muslim's were taking over Europe. He hasn't made a statement yet but until he does I doubt he'll say anything about Freemasonry.

To continue on from where I left off yesterday, when I arrived here to Edmonton it was in August 1978. Mike & Doris's wedding was on Saturday August 19th. I left New Westminster BC by Via rail Monday August 14th to arrive there Wednesday on the 16th at the CN tower. I had planned on a 5 day stay over to leave on that Monday. Something made me think about staying. Mom said she could get me a job. I asked UIC to have my check sent to me but they could only send it to a TD bank of all places in Saint Albert. I recall catching a Westmount bus to Saint Albert Thursday August 24th and a few days latter I was working for Wacken Hut security. Doris's dad Fred Jucker's was the one that got me the job. I quit that and got a job at the Army & Navy department store working in the warehouse (Great West Saddlery building.) More about this next time.

My throat is all clogged up my body aches my sinuses are bugging me. It's going to be a long 8 hour shift today.

My online friend Dennis Hurd was lamenting yesterday over how he wished he would have more time to go over things like his music, blogs, podcast's etc. No kidding. I can relate, what with the half dozen or so podcasts I have etc. Not to mention the time I'd love to have reading. Anyway, that's about all for now. .

I'll spare the gory

details about my cold which came upon me Saturday night. I thought by going out to the movies and dinner latter, I'd feel better. Yeah, right. As soon as I'd lay down my throat got sorer my eyes began to water. Diet pop helped to keep my throat cool but I couldn't sleep. About 5am I decided to get up and read for 40 minutes or so and then I tried going back to bed. No luck. I  thought maybe watch some TV and I slept on the couch for a bit, then I decided to go back to bed. Sleep came hard but I did get some.

When I got up this afternoon about 1:40pm to watch G4 there was the ATOTS hosts interviewing Mark Hamil and somebody else. I wished I could have seen the whole interview.

Tonight Its Monday Night Raw a week after the fallout of the Vince McMahon being "relieved" A new era in WWE? We'll see.

While I have some free time here this afternoon, I was musing about my twenties. (This probably came about by seeing Mark Hamil on G4 this morning.) In 1970 I was 18 years old. I wasn't into a lot of TV back then. Fresh off my back operation recovery in 1968 I was still also recovering from the 1960's. When I was 15 years old I wanted to get into music. My back operation set me back. My buddy Dave Winfield at the time was into learning the guitar. I couldn't afford one. Another friend of ours "John Roddick" had a drum kit in his parents garage. He was learning to play Dave was learning to play but me, I was still trying to get out of high school in 1970. My back operation took 2 years out of my life back then. I was living with my family on Regan Ave trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. A turning point in my life was when dad had packed up the family to Edmonton in 1973. My sister Martha was living in Victoria BC, so was Rick. Jeff and Mike were the only ones in Edmonton. So I struggled remaining behind in New Westminster BC (lower mainland) I met my friend Charles in the fall of 1973. At this time I was really into Wargaming and writing. In 1974-75 I was working at the Army & Navy then I stayed at the Anderson place uptown New West. In 1975 I got invited to come up to Edmonton to visit the family. I remember seeing the Pink Panther movie that summer. I worked in Calgary in 1976/77 doing various odd jobs there. I left back to New West and the Anderson place when Calgary didn't work out and I applied for UIC (EI today) I was having some trouble with other tenants in the Anderson place (boarding house) a looking for an apartment. I got a windfall of backlog EI money bought a portable color TV a stereo. It was this time May I moved out of the Anderson place and found a real dive of a building right on the grounds where the current Douglas College is. It was around this time I was on EI and the up coming movie Star Wars was the "talk of the town." This was another turning point in my life. In August of that year I got a letter from mom inviting me up to Edmonton for Mike's wedding the weekend before my 26th birthday. I decided to stay in Edmonton and never looked back.

The thing is, I was never trained in anything like music or acting or the arts. I never had an interest for anything like that as a kid in the 60's and my parents never had the money for any of the kids to pursue anything like that. Anyway that's all for now.

I love Sundays.

I had a great weekend. Saturday morning I went into work and got a $10 bonus on my check for next week. Then I went over to L&M to get my program Sib 6 (which was kind of a let down. A $145 let down.) I watched the Esks win (4-0) best they’ve done since 1986. Then I watched a bit of the Riders/Montreal game and they were leading at the half. Anne and I went to movies 12 just over here and we watched Thor. What a wonderful movie. I rated it a 10/10. Then after that we went over to Boston pizza for dinner. Anne had a backed pasta which she wasn’t to thrilled about.

The only downer to this weekend was me losing 2/4 games on my Pro-line ticket and the Sib first waste of money. I didn’t do enough research like what are the differences between the Sib first and the full Sib 6. If I had that information, before hand I would not have bought it and I would be in fine shape to get MM17. On top of that I ended up getting a scratchy itchy throat. Sign of a cold coming on. But taking my wife out to a movie and dinner made up for everything else. Anyway, that’s all for now

Yes, I've been inside for

about 40 minutes now. I bought a quick pick for the 6/49 before I caught the train in case I forgot at the Redi mart.

I had a good day on the job. I think I pulled in about $455 the first half and about $150 on card. I called Anne for a few minutes. No bonus money. I had my lunch at break and went down to get another lottery ticket. The first half went by ok but dragged a bit. I was running out of gas by about 8:30pm. When that happens and I’ve got a decent total I like to chat with the customer (after I’ve made the sale on the card of course.) to kill some time. So that’s 2 days out of 4 in the bank. I checked on my 6/49 numbers and I got 1 number on 1 ticket and 2 on the others. I came close to winning another, $10. Anyway that’s all for now.

Not bad going

this morning. Yesterday morning before work I did my banking and I got that out of the way.

On the National news they exposed lotto 6/49's latest $41M jackpot winner. They're going to give a lot of that money to friends and family. They are retired school teachers. Good for them. Wednesday's draw is for $8M.
Coast's topic Tuesday night is about Nasa's Atlantis, the final shuttle mission retiring. So what's next for Nasa? They want to work with Russia and other countries to get cargo into space until something else comes by. I read where the shuttle program was like an 18 wheeler semi. They want something the like a pick up truck.

I'd like to take Anne out to a movie and a bite to eat Sunday. We were supposed to do this Sunday but she was too wiped out. The movie I'd like to see is Captain America and if it's at Movies 12 over here, I think I'm going to go see this maybe Sunday. I'll pay for her ticket. Anyway, that's all for now.

False alarm..

with my laptop battery just before loggin on here. Both indicator lights are blue. That's a good sign. Anyway, time for a shave and a shower before I head on out of here to my bank.

What I'm going to do with L&M here is get the software anyway. But it depends on my bank if they'll let me have a secured visa for say $130. The whole MM17 program is $115 but I need a bit left over to pay service fees. A faster form of payment means I get what "I want now" instead of 8 days from now. Anyway, that's all for now

Hoo boy, some exciting things going on in the

WWE this week. In reality Triple H is taking over the Day-to-day operations at WWE as Vince has been relieved of his duties. Well, that's the general storyline. Vince is 66 years old and maybe its time to pack it in. Anyway, that's all for now.

Apparently now online

shopping giant Itunes has been hacked. I use Itunes all the time but I have never shopped at ITunes. Hackers are trying to get free music etc by hacking into user accounts. On the news they were saying to constantly change user PW after each purchase.

So, now Anne wants to go to Capital Ex (K-days) this weekend and that could cost a lot of money. This means I'm going to have to get MM17 this weekend and put a down payment on Sib 6. That's something I could do.

With all of these hackers and all first Sony and now ITunes. What's next for these guys, the credit card companies, big Oil? This has all the trademarks of a terrorist attacks. A dry run prior to hacking into the airliners, the banking or stock system? No doubt security forces are examining all of these kinds of things.

The gang are working hard over there at the office getting ready for break, with 2 hours left to go.

I'm still going to drop that $100 into my account. COH now is: $120. I've got then $20 left over for the week so I can at least get my 6/49 ticket this week. As for my bet with James, I'm going to suggest a double or nothing and I've got CFL games for Pro-line. But the main thing is to get that credit card (hopefully at my bank) next Tuesday. I need it for $120. Anyway its almost time for Monday night Raw. Anyway, that's about all for now.
.

Linux even

took out my wifi devices but even took out Google Earth I had on my windows desktop. I thought I'd go into Ubuntu and see if I can get a Linux version of Google earth but I can't even find the programs. I was going to get Vinny to help me with Linux. He said something about refreshing hardware devices. I tried finding out where this is but for the life of me, I have no clue. He wasn't there Saturday. Hopefully Saturday I can bring my laptop with me and head out to L&M to be there at 9am when they open and pick up my Sibelius 6 (standard) go get my breakfast and then into the office for my 4 hours and then head over to his place where he has an Internet connection and he can do all that for me there. Then when I get home I can have some fun with Sibelius 6 and get some song ideas down.

Often I find myself over there at Dennis Hurds blog. Unlike myself he always has something interesting to read. I visit his blog several times a week for my New Westminster connection because I used to live downtown New West as the locals call it, in the mid 1970's. Dennis has a nice photo for his blog today of a park I myself often visited as a young man in my early 20's when the weather was good. I envy Dennis and the little park he has access to. I miss having a little place of solitude for myself like that. Sure we have a little walkway just out back here, as in this photo take today. Its a nice walkway and at one time there used to be a bench to sit but that's long gone now. Because its summertime, there are lots of kids out here today and this little place out here is a high traffic area. A small park out here like the one Dennis has wouldn't survive long. It'd be littered with trash or some drunk would piss in it or all kinds of things. We even had a small tree out here the city tried to plant complete with yellow warning tape but the tree didn't survive the winter or was abused by kids.

Texting and using a cell phone behind the wheel while driving is controversial no doubt about it. There are lots of cases where accidents have happened because of this. Even some fatalities. Our city has put a cell phone/texting bylaw in place and if your caught driving and texting or using a cell phone, its a fine. But that's all its going to be until some politicion's son, wife, daughter whatever is on the receiving end of an accident bearing in mind something close to home. That's the only time any real action is going to get done with this. I got to thinking what could be done to make people wake up about the dangers of these kind of shenanagans. The City loves these red light cameras as its a cash cow. So why not have spy cams at various points of the city take a front photo to get the propertrator caught doing the deed and a back photo to get the license plate. The best part about this is, the cameras can be changed so even though drivers might learn there is a camera at one location, they think, "just get the word out" but then move the camera. This way, drivers won't know where where the cameras will beat any given time. This will stop using cell phones and texting dead in its tracts. The above is a pro active approach. The other thing is, increase the texting rates and watch the usage go down. The first idea is better though.

The other thing is I tried (again) to download Google earth using the Google chrome installer, which installed Google chrome (naturally) on my site to replace IE7 as my default web browser. I opened up my blog post and the browser changed my functions. I can't do spell check and the font itself changed and to make matters worse, I can't copy, my work here, only paste. I lost a good blog post learning this the hard way. Anyway, that's all for now.

This afternoon I discovered Music maker 17

and I'm salivating over this software.

I'm going to cancel out on Sib 6 and get the funds this weekend ona disposable credit card and order this thing. I'm going to get the Premium version. It can do all the things FL. Studio and Cubase can do and more. I wont even need Battery 3 as it's got this built in. I hope to have Music Maker 17 on the weekend.

I had a bit of a nap earlier and slept for about 4 winks. I Have a fan on in my office as pictured here and its not cooling down at all. I think were going to have the air conditioner in for tonight. First thing Monday morning, I'm calling L&M and ask them to cancel on the Sib 6. It could be a bit redundant. I asked to save it yesterday and they were closed today. So that's not too bad.

I don't know what's been going on with any new episodes of Doctor Who. We haven't been able to see any since April.

One of my brothers is on the move somewhere. I have an idea it's somewhere on the island between Victoria and Campbell River. Probably has to do with his girlfriend. and I'm not even sure what he's doing these days. Our family hasn't been that close since mom passed away.

So I'm just sitting here trying to beat the heat. Boots is resting on a patio chair out here as the birds are in their cages enjoying a warm summer night.

My teeth haven't been bugging me that much these days, thanks God. The front tooth that has been broken off has been but it hasn't been a searing kind of a pain or anything.
I'm off Monday and I'm calling in L&M for a stop hold on Sib  6. this frees me up $100 in cash for MM 17 when I get my check Friday. Hopefully after work Saturday I can get a Master Card from Money mart when I get home after a nap I can order MM17 and have some fun. Also I want to get the last 2 books in that SF trilogy as well.

The Esks are at Calgary so this should be a good game. I think this would be a good double or nothing game to regain my $5 loss yesterday.

This August on my birthday I'm volunteering at Fort Edmonton Park with Dan. I suggested if he wants to bring his crib board, I'll play him a couple of rounds. Then in September we have a EA degree coming up. This will be my 3rd EA as SD. Hopefully the last 2 FC's wont be ready for their MM until I become JW. There's a lot of  memory work for that one. Knowing my luck, I'll be taking in 3 MM's during the balance of my SD year. The busiest chairs I think are the SD and the JW. Not to mention the Treasurer's and the WM's chair. The IPM is the chair I can't wait to take. That means I would have covered all of the chairs and I can go further on in the York Rite. I want to go on through the Royal Arch as well and the Allied degrees, eventually. There's lots of Masonic Work yet to do.

Speaking of Freemasonry I recall way back in the early 1990's when Eugene was the Priest of one of the many Gnostic masses he did and I recall the sash he had been wearing. He was wearing his Royal Arch masonic regalia that night. Royal Arch's are the only ones, I know of that wear a sash and he had all his pins from the Canadian Rite on that sash. I thought this was very impressive and was one of the reasons why I joined Masonry not just for that but because I like learning through the degrees. I'm not big on pins and regalia because I don't have any Masonic pins or rings or that kind of thing on my person.

This has been a unusual long post this evening but that's about all for now I'll post the fan pic later.

it's been a lazy afternoon

for the most part I've been working on my music all afternoon and I discovered a cool program called Music Maker 17 by Magix and the price is phenomenal at $115 for their premium edition. Almost makes me want to cancel out on Sib 6 and get a disposable credit card for this reason only. I don't like waiting 8 days to use Pay pal.

I'm just getting into my new Star Wars book Dark Tide 1. It's very exciting. I'll have this read by the end of the month.

Summer is in full swing around here. (The photo above is the walk way I take every morning to our bus shelter. The building here is a mirror image of ours. I know they look old because they are but its nice inside.) Local weather is +26 but not anywhere near it is in the US, some places +40! I'm glad I don't live in the US. I like it right here in Northern Alberta thank you.

This photo is looking West on the walkway above taken less then half an hour ago. I recall back in New West, we had some nice days in the Summer but for the most part one day anytime of the year was pretty much the same as the next. It either rained or it didn't. At least here, there's jobs, lots to do and the weather always changes. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Annes at work, suppers cooking in the oven

after today I got 2 more days off

I went and took a look at the previous Blogger Blog posts going back to 2005 about 600 blog posts. More or less. So this diary then is my legacy. Even if Google/Blogger goes under the posts should still be there for years to come.

I'm still evlauating FL Studio/ Cubase. Cubase is really expensive and it doesn't work very well with my. I like Cubase because of the vari audio and the many features it has. Anyway, more on this later.

I got up this morning about 7am

and did some stuff on the computer had my shower cleaned up and got things ready for work. I listened to a bit of "Skarface" on my Ipod on the way in. Good stuff. I bought my 2 hash browns breakfast sausage egg sandwich and coffee as I met with James and walked with him to the office. I was asked to do "big taps" and I think I got about $180 on card by break. At break I called L&M and asked if they have Sib 6 the one for $130 and they do. The guy said he's have it reserved for me. I'd be picking this up next Saturday. The afternoon slowed down a bit but picked up Gerry and the guys (about 10 of them) were going to go to the BC/Esks game this afternoon, just about underway.

I hustled over to Audrey's books and I went and looked around. A new SF trilogy on the shelves, some Simon Morden fellow. "Equations of life." I like the covers. I picked up book 1, the rest on my way to my bank Tuesday
so I'll come back to this latter tonight,

I was sure glad when 9pm rolled aound last night

I got out of the office real fast and over to catch the #5. I had a decent check that I cashed including the 36 hours for a full week. So I've got $140 for me the rest for Anne.

Today, I'm in for 4 hours and another 36 on for the week. The rents paid up everything is fine. At work I'm going to try and call L&M and ask them if they have Sib first notation 6. If they do, then great. I'll go to my Scotia bank Tuesday on my way to the office and drop $110 into my account and service charges of course and Next Saturday after work head over to L&M and pick it up. After work though today, I'm running over to Audrey's and I want to pick up a book and head home, have a bite to eat and have a nap before the BC/Edmonton game.

Tonight, I'm relaxing laying down another track for my demo song "Tammy Tweets." I got the organ verse for this thing and a verse baseling. I'm a long way away from laying down a vocal track.

Over the years in the back of my mind I've been thinking what kind of a personal pressence or mark that I can leave behind of my record here? A kind of legacy. Then it hit me. Google earth. Right now my Google earth (thanks to my Linux install has kind of suspended GE for me, which is another thing I want to do for next weekend. I did want to do this today but I haven't set anything up yet for V at work. So the initial idea is to to leave a photo of me take of around here within the next week or so with a sign, something like: "Hi. I'm Jim Shannon. "I have a Blogger blog at: My music is here on YouTube." Type thing. It's my mark in cyberspace. Chances are that Google will be around for a long time, perhaps at least 25-100 years long after my passing.

Finaly, I finnished Vector Prime last night. Great book. Anyway, I got to get ready for work. Sorry for the sloppy editing here. I'll get this done after the game tonight. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Just a short

entry for today.
I'm having a good week, just music, reading, and the job. Nothing earth shattering going on at the moment.
I'm just about done with this book, "Vector Prime". I began it April 1st and its taken me 3.5 months to read it. I've been doing a lot of Lodge work in the Spring and music production. I'm really enjoying this book and I'm going on to book #2 in the series: "Dark Tide 1." It's about 15- pages shorter so I hope to have it read by the end of July.
Not much going on this weekend. I'm working Saturday morning until 2pm although I'm considering bringing my lapttop to work so one of the guys can help me with Linux and my wifi. I'll go home from there. Other then that, I'm having a quiet weekend. anyway, that's about all for now.

Not a bad day today, with a little bit of luck tossed in.

It was a slow start for today. The day really dragged. No bonus money but I did read a lot from my Star Wars book. I decided to go on and read the 2nd book in the series.

Oilers unloaded yesterday, Cogliano and JD, who I thought was better then NK.

Anne had put some money on one of the cell phones and and I took that with me. She called at about 7:30pm. The vibration mode didn’t kick in and I caught it right away. Big no-no in a call centre to have an open cell phone while not on a break. We had a chat on the phone.

I was too wiped out to read on the train home. I got inside about 9:35pm and found some bananas Anne had bought earlier on the table. I took one with my insulin so I’m ok for now. Other then that, I had a pretty good day. I can’t complain.

I checked on my 6/49 number when I got home and I got 3 numbers on my ticket for $10. I seldom win more then that. I've never had more then 3 numbers at any givin time if I win at all. When I selected my numbers I usually pick number 8 instead I went for #9. Number #8 was picked. I could have matched 4 numbers. I got this feeling that this year is going to be a break-out 6/49 year. I'm going to get 4 matches. I almost did this week. 5 matches would have netted me about $2,000 bucks. Anyway, that’s about all for now

Having fun working on a

track this morning before bed, so this is going to be a short post as I want to read for half an hour.

I'm also getting eaten alive by all the bugs floating in around here, driving me nuts.

I had a good day on the job yesterday but I had a bit of a headache but I forgot to take my insulin when I came home. I like these hours but it's hard for me to get into a routine with my insulin with these hours. I don't trust leaving my insulin in the fridge where strangers linger around. I keep missing my insulin when I come home. I should take it as soon as I come in. I went and set my alarm on my Ipod to go off at 10pm Tuesday/Friday to remind myself to take my insulin when I come home. I can take anything with it like some cereal or something or even a left over sandwich.

I read now when ever I can. For about half an hour in the mornings before work. On my commute, on my breaks at work and until Anne comes home. The rest of the time, I'm working on my music. What I'm trying to do is to get a program called Team Viewer (I've used before) to get one of the east Indian kids to sync up with my laptop and get into  my Linux from a remote location. He's our go to tech support guy in the office and was the fellow that got me FL Studio last October. The idea is to show me how to refresh my hardware devices in Linux so I can get my wifi up and running synced with my gmail where I've subscribed to SF Daily And my Itouch. That's the plan. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I'm having some fun with

sample tank, playing around with some cool sounds.

Anyway, I have a full day today. Its always rough just getting back from almost a 3 day weekend. No chance in hell will I ever go back to business. I work 4.5 days and get 2.5 off, works good for me.

I'm about ready for bed now. I did manage to read from my Star Wars book Monday afternoon. I figure for sure, I'll be done with it by the end of this month.Anyway, that's about all for now.

My next L&M purchase is a music notaion

program called Sibelius 6 First. It’s the lighter stripped down version of its the heftier big brother Sibelius 6. The difference is in price at $140 as opposed to over $600. The cool thing about Sibelius 6 first is that it uses “ReWire”, which is a protocol that lets VST and other software “talk with each other.” This means I can compose in Sib 6 and then sync the composition into my Host/Daw like FL Studio and it will playback and record right from Sib 6. I save it “As” and it’s captured. This is way cool and I’m going to pick this up next weeken (the 23rd) This is going to be cool and when I get FL Studio 10, and battery 3, possibly Sugar Bytes guitarist. SB is a cool program and I also want to get that doublerX program as well. So, Fl Studio 10, Battery 3, Doubler X and that’s all I need. I’m going to have my own music up on the net cutting my first track this fall, if all goes well.

Anyway, Anne and I headed out of here about 3:30pm yesterday as our destination was to Royal Pizza on the South Side. Not having anything to eat and all I wasn’t in the best of moods. I picked up though on our way on the train. I was anticipating a long ride. I don’t know what time we got to the University but at least it wasn’t raining. A brief wait and we were at Chapters because the rest of a street festival of some kind. It wasn’t raining as we got to Royal Pizza I’d say within 40 minutes of leaving the house. Anne spilled some pop in our booth all over herself and it was mostly my fault. I felt bad but it was minor and my mood picked up. The bill for pop and the pizza was $31. No big deal. Anne wanted to go get some ice cream at a place nearby she likes. I went over to Chapters because I thought they might have closed by 6pm as it was just after 5pm.
Inside Chapters I looked around for book 2 of the Star Wars “Fate of the Jedi series.” They had book 3 Allies. I picked that one up and Anne comes up the stairs with a cone of ice cream. I was going to pickup book 4 of Georg RR Martin’s Song of fire and ice but I couldn’t remember if I had already had it yet. Book 2 of the Star Wars book was still in hardcover. I’m going to get Sib 6 first before I get the book. There David Weber’s Safe hold series book 4 “A mighty fortress.” I‘m interested in this series. Anyway, time for bed. .
Not that I needed the pill or anything to help me sleep overnight but it didn’t hurt.

Earlier this afternoon I did a inventory of my SFF novles and I have 271 books so far in my "new library," as opposed to the others I had abandoned in the late 1970's. I hope to break the 300 mark by the end of the year. When I reach 1,000 books I'm going to get all my new books on a ebook reader.
.
This morning I was able to get some more info on Rewire. The thing with sample tank is, it works fine in stand alone mode. FL Studio 9 launches it in a “wrapper” which makes it hard to set up midi. Sample tank is a program or a plug-in not a VST instrument. But it supports Rewire and if my un registered copy of Cubase can talk to Sampletank via Rewire it might help me figure out why I’m getting static with my sounds in Sampletank. FL Studio lets me only have one channel at a time. I’m still “evaluating” FL Studio and Cubase, Anyway that's about all for now.

Its been a busy couple of

around here

Yesterday I went into work for the last of my 36 hour work I had a rough morning but the afternoon picked. Sales wise I did ok.

I was too wiped out to go over to Happy Harbour comics instead after a wait I boarded the #2 bus out to Wendy's over here on 50th street. I was some where around around the Library downtown when I realized uh-oh Anne has the bus pass and the driver never said anything about my last months pass showing. Just as I asked the driver about a stop just before Wendy's, I mentioned to the driver, I had no small change only bills. The driver wasn't concerned.
I had a nice "Baconator combo" in Wendy's. It was really good and I just sat there enjoying my meal. I pulled out my Itouch to see if they had wifi and they did. What with Linux kind of taking over my external wifi devices I haven't been able to use my Itouch at home for other then recharging and using it as my source of music. I was delighted to discover this as the manager was cleaning up around me. He said "It keeps customers returning." Yeah no kidding.

The weather all weekend has been unsettled. I kind of like this. Its rainy for 5 minutes then sunny for 10, that kind of thing.

I walked home from Wendy's and got into the apartment about 3-45pm. Anne had called not starting until 4pm. I was thinking maybe we could get out of here today and go over to Royal Pizza. The guys from my job were doing that Friday night after work.

Anyway, I had a brief nap, or tried to. Hard to sleep in the afternoon. After that I went and watched Hamilton/Eskimos. They had episodes of teaming rain and a lightning strike in the sky that had the game delayed for about 12 minutes. Crazy weather. I love it. What a game! The Esks won 28-10 in a decisive victory and I had a double or nothing bet. $4 comes my way. Thanks Warren. I don't think he'll be wanting to bet me for awhile. I'll have better luck with Pro-line which I forgot to get my CFL picks for this weekend.
After the game and Anne called I went and attempted to install Sampletank 2.5 The install was about 40 minutes because of all the sound libraries and 2 DVD's latter. The hardest part wasn't the install but the registration/authorization process. After a bit of a struggle, I did get it up and running. I'm a little disappointed because in Cubase I get static. It works in FL Studio just fine. The other VST demos I downloaded from Native Instruments in FL Studio work fine. I haven't figured out how to get Battery 3, Absynth 5 and FM8 to work but at least Sampletank works fine in FL. I like the Vox Continental sound in FL, nice and loud. I'm a bit disappointed with the guitar sounds but I haven't had much of a chance to tweak them yet. I'll be plying around with them latter. I think (from a glance) Absynth 4 is better then 5. Anyway if I have trouble with Cubase then it looks like I'm going to stick with FL. I'll get FL Studio 10 Signature bundle around the end of the month. I also discovered Eco. It's a drum VST from BDF which is pretty cool. I can modify kits which is pretty cool. The open HH works better as well then some other VST Drum packages I've been using.

I don't know Anne originally wanted to goo out to Royal Pizza for Monday because we both have the day off and it looks a little yucky out there. We had our Sunday brunch last night so we could get out this afternoon.

Anyway, that's about all for now.

Its a little muggy in here this morning

in my office.

I was in bed by 2am this morning and I slept pretty good untill about 7:30am. It wasn't the cats or anything because we had Boot's in with us overnight. Anyway, I'm up now enkoying my first coffee. I had my shave/shower listened to a few tunes on YouTube and there's no better time then right now put up a blog post.

I went and paid the balance on my sample tank program. I'm going to install it tomorrow night after Anne calls:

It's kind of breezy out there this morning. To be honest, I could go back to bed and sleep for the restof the morning but I have another 8 hours ahead of me. It's going to be a long day. After work, I'll run over to my RBC bank cash my check and then home for a few hours and back to bed for tomorrow's short 4 hours. That's 36 hours on the week.

One of the guys at work lives within a block of Happy Harbour comics over there on Jasper Ave and if he's got no pressing engagements or anything like that after work tomorrow, (it's on his way home) he said he'd give me a ride to HH. I want to check out the MTG tourneament. A ride to HH would save me maybe half an hour. I'd like to sit in on a game and see how it plays. I'll bring my camera along. Then after that if it's not raining (its in the forecast) I'll walk up to 104th street and catch the #2 bus out to Wendy's for some lunch and then home to watch what's left of the CFL Hamilton/Eskimo game.

Anyway, it looks like rain out there now. That's ok, I'm not out in it much and we do need more rain around here. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not a whole lot going on for today

its a full working day

Anne went and gave me a 2L bottle of Root beer instead of the diet Cola I normally like.

Surprisingly I'm in no toothache pain this morning.

I decided to go with FL Studio because that's the Daw host I've been working with for the last year. FL 10 has a few more things init I can use, after I get Battery 3. I was looking at BDF Drums last night and it's got a ton of flexibility to it.

Sunsets locally here tonight at 10:03pm, which is nice to leave the office when there's still some light outside.

I'm kind of rushed for time at the moment. Today is going to be a warm one. It's bright and sunny, lots of bugs out there this time of year. Anyway's that's about all for now.

If it wasn't for this fan in here

I'd be eaten alive by now from all these bugs in here.

Tuesday morning I left out of here about 10:30am. I was at L&M by about 11:10am. I didn't have all the funds for my program but 95% of it is paid for. Its on Lay-a-way for me to pick up on Saturday after work.

I had a decent day getting back from 4 days off. The 1st part of the shift went by ok. I got my 6/49 ticket. I even got a $10 bonus for my check this week and next week I had dental trouble all day but I dealt with it. The Advill helped a lot and so did the oragel, more...

All in all I had a great day for my first day getting back Anyway, I'm going to head off to bed to listen to a bit of Coast. Tonight its: I search of ET life. Great.

Today William & Kate will be touring the Slave Lake fire tragedy that took place in early May. This couple are great ambasadors for the monarchy.

SF Signals Mind meld, is asking "Why has Steampunk persisted for so long?" Well mainly because it's by and large forgotten and nobody since the 1960's Wild Wild West TV series. There's more to it then that of course but essentually that's about the size of it.

Space.com has a full feature about the Space Shuttle. I skimmed over it but it looks pretty good. Anyway that's about all for now.

Office just about noon or so

this afternoon for my first 8 hour of the week.

It's going to be a long week. The afternoon usually goes by in a hurry but the early evenings before break drags. By 8pm I'm played out and watching the clock.

Tonight's Coast show topic is on Forbidden Archeology. Should be worth listening to for a bit.

At Happy Harbour Version1 they are having a pre release party for "Magic the Gathering." it's a sealed booster pack tournament. I'm thinking about say picking up my program after work Saturday and then catching a #1 bus to HH and checking it out. More later.. .

With all this time off I composed only 2 diary entries including todays?

That’s because I’m putting most everything on Blogger now.

It didn’t dawn on me until it hit me this morning that Anne has only about 60% of our rent money. That’s not going to cut it (She knows this, as soon as she knows I’m trying to save money for something, she starts spending our rent money.) I haven’t told her yet but I’ve got my bank card ($160) and $40 cash so that should bring us up to 75% of our rent and that’s a lot easier to live with saying to the caretaker: “Here’s 75% the rest will be here next week instead of the 50% she thinks I think she’s going to pay. She knows I wont let her get away with paying 50% of our rent.

I woke up shortly before 1pm, just couldn’t sleep earlier what with my broken front tooth causing me some grief. I’d love to have the time to go in and get them all taken care of and I’m going to set things up with my new Doctor to see if firstly he can set me up with a dentist that can do the work while I’m unconscious. That’s the first option. If not set me up with a dentist that will accept AW and maybe while I have my week off in early September, I can get it done.

So now I don’t know what I‘m going to do if I cant save any money for something? I was hoping to get “Battery 3” this weekend but now with this rent crisis, so much for that idea. Most likely L&M have it at their warehouse in Toronto, which means I‘ll have to wait a week anyway. I‘ll call their local office here before I post this and see if they have it in stock. Not that I‘m going to get this product anytime soon maybe in early August with FL Studio X from the pension money Anne‘s going to get. If she gets it on a Friday, chances are I‘ll have it for Saturday and I can go get Battery and then over to the Axe FL Studio and then get the RRSP from my Scotia bank Monday. Unless of course Anne protests this batch of the $200 I‘d like to give her. Whenever she gets out of bed. I had to wake her at about 6am this morning because I needed a Advil but that was partially a ruse because I wanted to talk to her about the rent. I had an option to do just this earlier this morning before bed.

How then am I supposed to be able to save any money if Anne knows I have any to save? Well in about a year from now (if Diabetes hasn’t taken my life) I‘ll be getting my CPP pension worth about what it would cost for an Ntendo 3DS at today’s market. If your reading this say 500 years after this date (Fat chance) an Ntendo 3DS is/was a handheld gaming device. The thing is I can‘t see myself saving any money if Anne knows I am and she keeps spending it on me.

Those of us that don’t have at our jobs a direct bank deposit option and that‘s a small majority get their pay on Friday. The rental office was closed this last Friday (July first) so most people here are paying their rent today. Including Anne (who watch will hold an eviction notice over my head if she doesn’t see me flinch at the 50% of our rent before she goes down to pay. So today she gets her way and she gets my $200 just so she can “make a point.” “Capital place gets it.” News flash Anne, every place is Capital place. We‘re lucky we have this place that lets us have 3 cats. Most places will barely let us have 1 cat and we have Boots so that‘s 4 cats.
Also this means now I can‘t take 2 days off anymore. I have to work Monday through Friday and every other Saturday so that‘s 40/44 hours in a week.

I contacted L&M and of course they don’t have Battery 3 in stock. It‘s going to take about 2-3 weeks before I can even get it and I may as well get FL Studio X Signature edition because it‘s here in town retail and that's a good thing. If I order Battery 3 I‘ll need to put a deposit on it anyways which means a trip to L&M but they have the Mother‘s music location on 109th I can set it up there. I knew it was a long shot to have me think they would actually have it in stock. “What was I thinking?” Oh and L&M said they'd have to order it directly from Native Instruments meaning 2-3 weeks. Sigh...Anyway, that‘s about all for today.

I had a enjoyable afternoon

today, making some nice gains in my book. I don't know if I want to read WWW right away, I think I'll wait until I have them all signed, which means by April when RJS comes out here again. After this book, I'm going to start on George RR Martin's "Song of ice and fire" series

The game got off to a rough start with an episode of hail the size of a quarter that delayed the game. The Riders turned the ball over 4 times giving the Eskimos their first win for 2011 42-28! Best Eskimo game I've seen as a long time and they won it at Mosiac, which is usually tough for any team to win in.

After the game I walked around by Sifton school out back here down towards the church and back along Wyndham crossing and home along 137th Ave. I pace was casual and slow. unhurried. But on the way back heading East I was assaulted by a torrent of Mosquitoes. I got eaten alive! The rain we had last week brought them out. But the surprising thing about my walk is usually I have to sit down at the City bus stops along the way. This time I didn't need to sit at all and that's what surprised me.

Since somehow my Google had been taken out (how I don't know and I cant reinstall it for some reason) I used Google maps to go back to the old area I used to live in from 1983-2000. I lived in 3 different places during those years but I wanted to check out a house I used to deliver the Edmonton Sun to 1997-1999. The house from the 2009 location is more or less as I remember it but the area is changing. The houses are bigger and newer and look artificial somehow when stacked against older homes beside them. Here's an example of what I mean: The newer home is worth on the market something like half a million The house beside it was probably built in the 1950's for about $20,000. I wonder what the property values of the house beside it are? I don't like all these glizy houses moving into the area. It somehow degrades the character of the area. Anyway, that's all for now.

Continued....

had an opportunity to use much of lately only because I only wanted to use it for a couple of DAW's, which seem kind of redundant in my quest for a FL Studio X upgrade and using Cubase 5 earlier.

Before Anne left for work I was able to watch the new trailer for the upcoming Mission Impossible movie. It looks really good for a December release. The only movie I've seen so far on the big screen this year was Tron in late February. I think MI is the biggest of the movies this year so far.

On Coast this evening the topic is Seal team missions. Sounds like something worth listening to. Sunday is Medical intuition (boring) Monday: Forbidden Archeology (better) Tuesday: Search for ET life (Excellent). Wednesday: Astral entities (gets a nod) Thursday: Psychology and character (WTF?) Friday: Mathematical journey.

Curt Schilling,(38 studios) R.A. Salvatore and Spawn artist Todd McFarlane have teamed up together to create a possible MMO game called "Kingdoms of Amalur." Yesterdays ATOS featured some of the cut scenes from what looks like a killer MMO game. I hope Curt Schilling doesn't abandon his ASL roots but the game looks really cool. I haven't heard of any release date or anything.

So far lotto 6/49 has yet to release any news as to if anyone won the $20M jackpot. I got 1 number between 2 draws. Sure wasn't me.

Edmonton Oiler's 1st round in the draft was scene at Telus field earlier last night tossing out the opening pitch sitting beside Darryl Katz and Oiler's GM. RNH signed a 3 year deal for an undisclosed ammount. I hope he's ready to play this year. The Oiler's need all the help we can get.

I've been hearing bits and pieces about Google+. Its like Facebook for people who don't like Facebook but apparently its by invitation only but it's not that hard it seems to get an invite. I use facebook about once/twice a week. I'm not a social networking kind of guy.

This is great news: Pure Speculation's location will be at Grant MacEwan November 18th-20th. Guests are: Jo Walton, Will DeVry among others. Should be a good line up and this year, yes I'm going.

Earlier I've been fine tuning Slayer and I got the right mix for it but it's good for a demo not what I want to put up on YouTube. But its ok until I get FL Studio X which has Slayer 2. Slayer 2 is a lot better then the first one. The new Slayer has stomp boxes etc.

Earlier yesterday I read about 50 pages into my Star Wars book. It's getting good. Anyway, that's about it for now..

With this extra time on my hands

this weekend I'm finally able to put a big dent in my Star Wars book. I think I have about 40% left of it to go but I should finish it this weekend. At the moment I'm taking a break.

Anne's out working this evening, as it's nice to have a night alone. She made me a great burger earlier with fries and I have a CFL game to watch tomorrow night: Esks/Riders. Should be a good one.

Should I decide to abandon my website in favor of this blog (which pretty well does the same thing) I went and added another link: Gamesquad forums. I also need to add a few more links as well.

Speaking about Advanced Squad Leader, this evening would be a perfect opportunity to game something small. A back-back scenario where we each have a chance to be one side or the other.

By this time next Saturday I'm going to have Battery 3, providing they have it at the Axe and I can snag a copy. I'll get FL Studio X Signature bundle in July. I'm glad I got Addictive drums but sometimes the drum loops bleed into each other. I just need to put them on a different track is all but Battery 3 is so much more with a sampler and a huge library of sounds. I can't wait to get it.

The City last night put on a great fireworks show for Canada Day. It was a good 12 minutes long. Very nice. I love the Canada Day long weekend. Anyway, that's about all for me.

I can read about 15

pages in a novel. Or a month to read a 400 page book. Of course I can cut that down by reading on my commute and or at lunch. I can usually read 5 pages/day on the train. Or 30 pages/week. If I can read an hour each day, that's 15 pages (more or less) + 5 on the train and maybe another 5 during breaks, which means 30 pages/week. Plus more on the weekends. Roughly if I make the effort about 100 pages/week. If the writing and pacing is good, then usually about 3 weeks. Lately though this Spring I've been a lot busier then normally cont'.....Of when you factor weekends etc, I can read a lot more, about 150 pages/week. So a 350 page novel should take me just under 3 weeks to read. In theory.

I'm considering a trip to Axe Music or L&M today after Anne leaves for work. Native Instruments has had "Battery 3" out for awhile now and it's an awesome program with a 12Gb library of sounds and has incredible loop and sampler functions. I'm thinking about getting this but it's going to leave me short for the week by about $10 but 1 of the guys at work owes me $30 for a program he tried to install for me but couldn't make it work so he said he'd give it back to me. I'd like to go down tomorrow and pick this up but most likely it wont be until next payday, most likely Saturday after work. So Tuesday I'll deposit another $60 in my account and if it's at the Axe, I'll go down and pick it up. It's on my way home and if not there it could be at the L&M 109th street location. I'll get FL Studio 10 at the end of July The thing is next week I won't have the hours on my check because I took Saturday off. I'll have only 23.5 hours but I'll have my stat pay. My stat plus my hours will be about $30 shy of a PS3 or an Xbox 360. If I want one but 2/3rds of it goes to Anne for rent etc.

Earlier this evening right after Anne called I watched the Toronto/Calgary CFL game. Calgary was ahead by 5 points early in the 1st quarter and after that it was all Toronto until Calgary woke up late in the 4th quarter and it was something like 20/21 Stamps. Then in the dying seconds Toronto scored a 3 point field goal. Good. Other then the Esks, if any Eastern team can win against any Western team is a good thing.

The other day I was musing over short fiction. To be fair I did find some of it ok. But I need to be reading more of it. I like reading stories around 2,000 words. One site I like for daily science fiction is called "DSF" Or Daily Science Fiction. I wish they had a feature where I could subscribe via Itunes and take the story on the road with me. Beginning this month, I'm going to endeavor to read 1 short story/week. Not just from this source but others like it.

I know its Saturday but it feels like Sunday today. I've got 3 days of a 4 day weekend left over. There's no new Doctor Who TV on this weekend Anyway's that's about all for now.

Friday, July 1, 2011

I've got $30 bucks that's ready to be deposited into my

Scotia account on Tuesday. That will mean I will have $200 ready for FL Studio X. I decided against Cubase 6 because its double the price of FL Studio, while FLS has the same tools and I've been using a unregistered copy of FLS 9 since last October. So I figure I've had more then enough time to evaluate the software. I've also got 3 locations here in Edmonton to actually get the software itself. I'll call Axe music first as I've done most of my business with them. If they don't have it there, then I'll try and get it at their 109th location a few blocks within walking distance from my office. If that fails then I'll get it at Long & Mcquade's 107th street location. Tuesday I'm depositing $30 to bring my balance to $200 and then next Friday, I'll put in $75 and the following week, July 16th, I should have FL Studio X. If all goes well of course.

One thing about diabetics is we have a tendency to be itchy all the time. I've got a problem itch at the base of my spine and when I scratch it bleeds. I mean not profusely/out of control bleeding but enough to make it feel uncomfortable. When Anne was at the health food store just up here by Walmart she noticed a product for diabetics that is supposed to stop that itchy feeling. She can't recall the brand name or anything.

The Royal couple William & Kate are here in Canada in Ottawa. Later on in their 9 day visit they want to check out the Calgary Stampede. That's a great showcase for Alberta. I've never been to the Stampede (Calgary's version of our Klondyke days) or K days as we used to call it. Over the last few years K days has had a name change to Capital X. It doesn't seem to have the same pizzazz for me. Gone is the famous K days promenade. Anne and I want to go this year. We went about 3 years ago. They always have something new.

Over the past couple of years I've always toyed with the idea of a motive for weaponizing space. I don't mean as in fighting an adversarial nation or group/aliens. Certainly not a Buck Roger style lasers or Star Trek phasers kind of thing. The real enemy man may have is with the billions of pieces of space junk that's out there. A laser/pulsar might one day be used to aim at space debris that's threatening the Space station. A chain gun type of radar assisted system might be in use surrounding the space station and might be used to propel colliding space station debris into low earth orbit where it can burn itself up in earths atmosphere. I don't know if such a system would even become viable. So far there hasn't been any major threat to astronauts in space but one never knows.

Oh last nights Lions/Montreal game ended up 26-30 for the home team in week 1/18. We play the Riders in Regina Sunday and I've got $2 riding on the game. Eskimos need a win big time.

Now this is more like it On Coast tonight its Space, Drones & energy. Usually on a Thursday night Cost will always have something cool before "Open lines."

On ET they were talking about the next Mission Impossible 4 Movie with Tom Cruise currently in production. I guess they're in Dubai. Most likely this will be out by Christmas of this year, maybe even earlier.

Some of the guys at work were talking about JFK and the motive for his demise. Of course the most popular conspiracies was he was killed because he was going to spill the beans about aliens. Personally I think he was killed because it had something to do with Mafia boss Sam Giancana who rigged the election in 2 key states with 10,000 votes from beyond the grave. 51 electoral votes that should have gone to Nixon went to Kennedy. Giancana was shot to death in the basement of his home in 1975 while under the witness protection program. Then there is the Judith Campbell Exner scandal as well. Kennedy made a lot of enemies. The JFK assassination is one of my favorite topics.

Another thing I'm endeavoring to do is to connect with some ASL players. I'm not ready to play this weekend but this summer I hope to. I know the basics of the game mechanics despite a 10 year absence away from the game. I'd love to get back into playing it again. Anyway, that's about all for now.
