Things worked out for (Friday)

me yesterday ok after all but next week is the real test of what could happen. I can't talk about anything but I have a couple of offers.

So Friday the NHLPA approved to launch a disclaimer of of interest, which is a faster form of decertifying the union. Jan 14th is the deadline for when the rest of the season could officially be cancelled. January 2nd is the official day the of filing. I believe that something significant will happen between then and now. Personally, I'd like the idea of the season being cancelled. For the second time in just nine years since Garry Bettman took over as NHL Commissioner and 2 season lockouts later is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. This is an embarrassment. The NHL doesn't own the Stanley Cup but the Trustees of the Hockey Hall of Fame decide which league gets to challenge the cup. If the season is renewed why not an East/West 15 team round robin tournament to decide the Cup this season? Something to think about

Well the end of the world didn't happen. Yeah no kidding. There were some though that thought it would and took refuge in various remote locations around the world, like a mountain in Quebec, places in China etc. Some believe that the end of the world or they Mayan calendar would be around the 21st or within a few days of the 21st and this morning on Coast (underway now) George Noory will check in with various guests on the status of the post Mayan calendar world.

On this date in 1970, (Yesterday) Elvis Presley paid a visit to the White House to suggest to Pres. Nixon that he be named "Federal Agent at Large" to help combat the drug problem. And Nixon's response? Ok, I wont say it.

Sometime later this morning I'm off to Audrey's to get another Warhammer 40K "Space marine battles book" and then a block West on the same side of the street to Rexall get a $10 iTunes gift card,my lotto/649 ticket and home but I might decide to sleep in instead because it's so cold out there but if I time my bus connections properly, this morning I'll be out there for about maybe 5 minutes. I'll be out of here at 10am as Tim's stops making breakfast at noon then home. I should be home before Anne gets up and out of bed.

Actually speaking of Pages and my diary, my current  "MS Work's" diary is 2 years old and has something like 725 pages or about 5Mb of text. Pages syncs automatically to iCloud where I'm going to store most of my diary. That's almost like 10 years of text documents! Anyway, that's about all for now.

It was a nice uneventful train

into the office but I stopped in at Tim’s long enough to get a bottle of diet Cola and waited outside for my colleagues to show up.

I got a few sales on OPC but nothing like Thursday day. I had 3 sales all day and they weren’t very good and some of us had lousy totals even worse then me and that ‘s not saying much.

Tim asked me if I was taking the train home but only if we could  make a pit stop at Tim’s. I got a small bowl of lasagna and a donut and we got a crowded bus to the game of Eskimo fans. The trains sure emptied out at Commonwealth. I was home by 5:30pm listened to a bit of music and had my lasagna and watched some of the football game passing out on the couch. At the half the Esks were leading 15/10 but they let the game get away as the outcome was 18/19 BC. A Pro-line tie. There goes my ticket. I won $25 on the NFL office pool, so that’s good news and my picks are in for the weekends NFL games. Warren and I had a double or nothing and he won that back, so I had a loss kind of a day all way around.

Despite all of this, it was a beautiful warm autumn day out there at +25. I’ll take it. On a scale from 1-10, I’d rate today a 7. Not good but not great only because it’s the end of the week and the weather is nice. I think the reason for my flat kind of a day was because I had a bit of a soar throat. Anyway, that’s about all I have for today.

to tie, did. I picked the Riders to win but that game was tied and the Argo game last night was tied. A tie game in Proline/CFL is within 3 points and now it's half time and BC/Calgary and this game looks like its going to be a 3 point game. I'm picking all ties next week.

What a day I had today doing OPC and I got $30 bucks worth of bonus money last night and $10 today, so I'm going to have a nice check next week. Other then a few days of low totals and the couple of fights Anne and I had and made up, this week has been really good. I needed that solid day today.

I haven't got things firmed up for Fort Edmonton for next weekend but I'll call tomorrow just to make sure that my volunteer partner and I are on the same page here for next weekend.

After work as I stated briefly in a Twiter post I went Audrey's said I'd pick up  my 2 Star Wars books and after that I went to Rexall Drugs to get a 6/49 ticket then to Tim's for some of their lasagna and it was really good and it filled me up. I just took the train after that and of course the usual 5 minute wait in the tunnel. All in all today was a great day except that last hour where nothing was going my way sales wise.

Now I have a couple of days off to relax and work on my music now that the last of this CFL week is underway now.

The gang after work went down to Victoria Park for a get together and Tim brought a whole bunch of KFC for the gang and of course in a "responsible but controlled manner," lots of beer but I didn't go because I didn't want to get eaten alive by the bugs out there.

So, the Northern Gateway pipeline could be stalled because of this war of revenue sharing between BC and Alberta. I can see both arguments but this is something bigger then royalties. The whole pipeline is worth about $82B over a 30 year period. Crazy. Anyway, that's about all from me for today.

I'm having a great day today

and lots of fun with Cubase 5. I'm saving some cash for Cubase 6, which will give me some more plug-ins missing from this version. I should have that by the middle of July.

Were getting some rain out there at the moment, which we need. Other parts of the country don't need it but we do.

Is it just me or does anyone else find how fast summer is going by? Feels like only a month ago I was at the Robert J. Sawyer book signing. Summer's going by too fast for  my liking.

My wife is home and making her perogies for lunch. More latter. I'll edit this latter. Anyway, that's all for now. .
