Yesterday heading out to

to lodge under sunny skies it was +24* out there. I was sweating even just wearing a short sleeve dress shirt under a wind breaker. I had a great night and got a ride home, which was nice.

On the news yesterday was an interesting story about inter provincial trade barriers here in Canada. These Provincial trade barriers cost the Canadian economy between $50-$130 billion/year. If free trade would open up here in Canada between Provinces it would be the biggest boost to the Canadian economy since the end of the 2nd world war. However there is so much protectionism between Provincial markets, with Premiers protecting their own turf, make free trade difficult within Canada. These interprovincial trade barriers are artificial. Alcohol for example is the 3rd source of revenue for Provinces after taxes and user fees. Of course user fees help pay for services and other things like infrastructure. Its very complicated.

I like the new Facebook backgrounds for posts. I tried this yesterday but for some reason the post disappeared

I got it working this morning. Don't know how useful this will be yet I kind of like them.

One of the most popular toys leaving store shelves this season is the Fidget or spinners. The Fidget is a spinning piece of plastic that is gaining in popularity among kids. Its not just children using Fridget's but other segments of the population such as students etc. Some are saying the spinners help those suffering from ADHA. I don't know how true that is. Sigh so much for the Poke-mon Go fad of last year.

I'm out of here at my usual 3pm for this afternoon for my Southside job. We're supposed to get up to +28. I'll have the Oilers/Ducks game #5 on my mind tonight and hopefully in time to watch most of it. Anyway, that's all for now.

Blogging is one of my

favorite things to do at the end of the day. Most likely Blogger will be up and running long after I'm dead and gone. This is my legacy. Its to let the world in the future know I'm here.

This year I didn't get too much into the NFL. I won maybe $40 with Proline and about the same with Fan Duel. I've been following this NFL "deflate gate." Its where the New England Patriot's used deflated footballs during the 1st half of the game to give them a advantage to get a Super bowl appearance. I'm wondering why hadn't the officials on the field notice the difference right away before kick-off? The Grey Cup game is next Sunday. My wife has to work that day. Go Seahawks Go!

Just saw this in Coast Zone that the Frisbee is 58 years old! The Frisbee was older then the Hula-hoop by a year. As far as I know the Frisbee never caught on as much when I first noticed the Hula hoop. It was my first day attending Mountain View in Coquitlam grade 1. I was amazed at all the kids making these strange gyrations with this plastic tube. I believe it was 1958 as I started grade 1 a year late because we were moving house that summer. I started school at 7 years old.

So, I've got 4 days off before I go back to work Wednesday and Thursday. Both those days are only 4 hour shifts. Then I get next Friday off and 6 hours Saturday. During this time I need to get in touch with my school district to see how I can get my grade school transcripts released. The information is on microfiche I believe. I've been trying to get this done for years but life always seemed to get in the way. I think the fee is something like $10. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its been a rough couple of days on the job front

lately. Things haven't been going to well with my downtown job and not much better in my West end job. My West end  job could be ending on Friday but my downtown job is holding.

The world seems captivated by this ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Ice Bucket Challenge. Local political figures and people from all walks of life are raising funds for ALS. Is it actually raising awareness of ALS or is it just chance for another photo op opportunity, or just another fad? It's raising a lot of money as well.

I'm back to the upgrading my current case/pc idea again. All I need is just the motherboard, cpu, ram, hard drive and a better power supply. I can get it all done for about $700. I only need 16Gb of Ram maybe even 8Gb. The real feature of the upgrade will be the 4Tb internal hard drive.

While at work this afternoon I read in the Journal that a Chinese group is going to be building 2 condo towers. One is a 38 story condo, the other (on the same property) is a 26 story one. However the big news yesterday is The Stantec tower. Its going to be across from the new downtown arena and is going to be 62 stories tall! Wow, now that's a sky scrapper. The Stantec building will be 224 metres high, nearly as tall as Calgary's 237-metre Bow Tower. Construction on the Stantec Tower starts this fall with completion by the summer of 2018. Anyway, that's all for now.
