which means summer is almost over. For the kids they go back to school. I'm hoping I get some good news about going back myself. To work that is, We've got a huge bill to pay down, and I want to get the Xbox One X hopefully by Black Friday. Even though I'm on pension, I'm not yet retired.
Lets see, over the weekend we watched the 2011 The Green Hornet. It started out slow and kind of juvenile in parts before the middle but then it built up and non stop action from there. I don't know why its taken producers five years later to work on a sequel. We also watched Monday night Raw, which was ok. Last night we watched Smackdown Live which is a lot better show in my opinion. Anne and I try to watch a movie we haven't seen every weekend. We get out the popcorn or other snacks. I haven't seen the recent man from UNCLE movie. Anne says she's seen it but I'd like to. I'm thinking about watching Doctor Strange instead as we're a fan of Marvel Studio movies. I remember reading Strange Tales as a teenager before my back operation even. I'm looking forward to Star Trek Discovery coming out on the 24th and the upcoming Star Wars "The Last Jedi" coming out in December.
This month the NHL goes back to work, as training camp begins soon. Most of the pieces from last year are in place. I think it was a mistake to let Jordan Eberle go. This guy scores 20+ goals a season. Sure his contract was to inflated but still he's a good player. Looks like Jerome Igninla is still up for grabs. We still have some positions open that Iggy could fill, but there are other players in the system that could be a good asset if they make camp. As for football, the Esks blew out another Labour Day Classic, 18-39! I'm not too impressed with John Chick. Mike Reilly's timing was off. The Eskimo's are the most penalized team in the cfl.
Up this week, I'm open for today. Tomorrow I've got some public speaking to do. I know my material so I think I'll be ok. Also Thursday I've got to call the boss to see what's happening for work. Friday is the Saturday is the Stamps/Esks rubber match. I'll be buckled in for that one. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much going on around here
Monday. It was a laid back kind of day at home. Anne brought me back a couple McDonald's quarter pounder burgers and fries for my 5:30pm supper and I spent 3 hours of watching wrestling. Then browsing the job ads on Kijiji, then supper and more job browsing. I found a work from home job but I doubt I'll get that but I uploaded my resume anyway. I'm calling the boss this afternoon to see what's coming up for work as things are slowing down. Anne's shifts are restored but mine are still in limbo.
The massacre in Orlando on the weekend at the Pulse club was senseless, most of these shootings are. Was it a hate crime or inspired by a terrorist organization? I don't know. Banning Muslims from entering a country isn't the answer either. There are about 3 million peaceful Muslims already in the US. The FBI dropped the ball on the Orlando shooter file. Maybe Muslims in the US and here should have certain rights suspended. Maybe banning Muslims from bearing arms is the way to go. Maybe better surveillance of Muslims needs to be tightened. I don't know what the answer is. All I know is hate is not the answer.
Over the weekend I learned of a new Star Trek movie, called "Star Trek Beyond." Its news to me. Its going to be released July 22nd. I really am enjoying JJ Abrams Star Trek. This is his 3rd Trek movie. Also this year is year in December is Star Wars Rouge one. The last time there was a Star Wars and a Star Trek movie in the same year was in 2002 with "Nemesis" and "Attack of the clones." My 2 favorite movie franchises of all time. Marvel Studio's is a close 3rd. Anyway, that's all for now.

At this hour I'm not feeling that bad
after taking 2 tylenol pills about 2:20am while we were enjoying Star Wars "The Force awakens." The pills didn't kick in until the climax portion of the movie. Most of the swelling is gone now in my left side but its still tender. Now there's a problem with my tooth on my right side but so far its not too bad, yet. I'm just hoping I can get my dental work done asap. There are a few hoops to go through in the meantime. Its hard to eat when you haven't got teeth.
This isn't a review of Star Wars "A force awakens"but rather some impressions of the movie. No spoiler alert needed here. The movie was fast paced, with lots of action. The overall story narrative flowed well. One could tell there was a lot of quality in the writing and Disney spared no expense in this movie. There were no corner cutting, and I didn't get the feeling that this movie was rushed in any way. The bad guys were well thought out. "The force awakens" took the Star Wars fan into uncharted territory. Some of it though seemed familiar, there are only so many way's one can produce a movie. I also liked the overall look and feel of the movie. For $6 and for both of us to be able to watch it together, was a good deal, and it was good entertainment value. I'm happy that Disney didn't dumb down this movie as I was expecting. The next Star Wars movie is going to be called Rogue One, with new characters. The movie is slated for release this December. Now this movie might be rushed but for us video on demand works well.
Last night I was working on my Lenova a I was able to get Windows movie maker on it (win movie). I had some initial difficulty getting a Outlook email account, however. I can sign into win movie easy enough as well. There doesn't seem a way to be able to convert the movie into various file formats and upload to YouTube. Probably because Microsoft doesn't support win movie anymore. My YouTube account is healthy, and I tested my account on my Xp system, it works good. I tried uploading the win movie but it needs to be converted into a proper file format. Once I do that it'll be good to go. At least I downloaded Windows essentials and that works. Also I was able to download Audacity and it works good on Win 10. Anyway that's all for now.

The only serious casualty this week was I was unable able to attend
my lodge's emergent meeting last night. We had a couple Entered Apprentice's prove up to FC, nice guys. Hopefully at a emergent meeting in September I'll be a part of their MM degree and or prove up or both. It would have been great to be there but we were given short notice last night we'd have a early shift. Because we were let out at 7:30pm last night I probably could have made it in time for the second half of the degree. Now that I think about it, I could have been there for the 2nd half but not in suit after all. One of the ladies with years of seniority lives in Beverly. Her daughter picks her up every night and drives a bunch of the other ladies home after work. I probably could have fit in the van somewhere off to lodge and at least be there for some of it. I had a bit of a toothache for the last 2 days and that was taking its toll on me.
Now that Star Wars "The Force awakens" is in video on demand, Anne and I are going to be ordering this for tonight on vod. Star Trek and Star Wars are my 2 favorite movie franchise's followed by James Bond and most anything out of Marvel studio's. Most likely once Star Trek has launched its streaming service, Disney might adapt this model for Star Wars. I could see a streaming treatment for Marvel studio's, James Bond etc. If Star Trek streaming is successful maybe this would be something Disney might do as well for Star Wars. This weekend looks good, 4 days off Star Wars, Extreme Rules, a outing and maybe even a Wendy's meal in there somewhere as well!
Since I began our Spring campaign at this job, I have had 1 day where I handed in a empty tally sheet. A tally sheet is how many "completes" we acquired in a 4 hour shift. I had only one empty tally sheet during our campaign. I was worried last night until in the 2nd half I'd leave home with a empty tally sheet. I got one warm "complete," last night "that saved" me. Just before the start of the shift I called my other job. Next week we're doing some clean up on the project we began last Friday. I hope to be in on that one, but I'll know Tuesday. We got a badly needed rain storm about 7pm. I could breath easier last night because I could put my name down as online complete if push came to shove. I was relieved when I got another "warm complete" last night. We got out early and Dave (an old colleague from other jobs years ago) with the supervisor took the bus to Carona station. The rain had stopped about 7:15pm. Dave and I rode the train to Clareview and I was home by 8:30pm. it was a pretty good day and now, I have 4 days off. Anyway, that's all for now.

To my surprise as I left the office last night about 5 hours
ago it was snowing and a blanket of snow began collecting on the sidewalks. It was kind of nice in a way. I missed my bus but that was ok. A colleague of mine I get along with joined me. We're of the same age and we talked about The Beatles, as he is of the fake Paul conspiracy. Its one of his favorite topics.
If there was a wtf msn emoticon, I'd insert it right about here. Why Jim, you may ask? Because once again Hollywood wants to make another Battlestar Galactica but this time on the big screen. There are not many details about this but if

Hollywood wants to do a reboot of this movie, I'd like to see it as long as that stupid camera doesn't float around all over the place like in the last Syfy TV series and Hollywood doesn't pc the crap out of the movie. I like the original Cylons and not these you never know who is a Cylon and who isn't bs. The original BSG was in response to Star Wars but I don't see another BSG film for perhaps another 2-4 years away. Probably after or during the next Star Wars film. Thanks i09 for the image above.
Another 4-9:30pm shift has come and gone. Even though its snowing now and will be over night the weekend forecast is calling for +5 and +6 temps. Other then work Saturday and Lodge practice Sunday night I'm going to have a nice weekend. .

Despite Edmonton and its
cyclic economy, I'd rather live here then anywhere else. Ok so we have bad hockey, we have a decent climate though. Thanks to a 2015 El-nino year our climate has been sub arctic-moderate. The average High temperature for October for example has been 16.7, and November we've had about a week of -0/-6 for the whole month. That's what a El-nino year can do for us. At the same time we don't experience any flooding. Did I mention the hockey is bad?
On the Connect to Edmonton movie thread I mentioned since JJ Abrams is involved with Star Wars, what does this do for the Star Trek film franchise? Does the success of Star Wars breath new life into the floundering Star Trek movie series? What happens to Trek now?
Ok this is my last post for 2015 (I promise) My wife is working tonight so I get to hold down the fort and ring in New Year alone. Anne's going to order me a pizza meal from her discount for my dinner tonight and I'm settling in to watch the Oilers host the Anaheim Ducks. Its free LRT service in the city tonight and tomorrow but we got our bus pass for January. Happy New Year everyone, anyway that's all for now.

I've got another day off
today as I need to go downtown to do some personal business and then to get a couple of beer for the weekend. I've got some other business to take care of at home its over the phone stuff.
Hard to believe it was 28 days ago today in 1987 that we here in Edmonton experienced Black Friday. It was a massive tornado that caused the deaths of 28 people. When it touched down about 3pm I was working downtown at the Army & Navy just where the Ultima highrise is being built. I was 34 years old at the time.
One of my favorite YouTube channels is sillySUPERPOP It's all things WWE wrestling. Mostly action figures and he uses some colorful expletive language. Very entertaining comedy. Even if your not a wrestling fan, its hilarious stuff
There's so many but one of my favorite comic books has always been the Fantastic four. I'm very happy that Marvel Studios is releasing a reboot. I'm very happy that another

movie is coming out. My favorite artists drawing the Fantastic Four. His attention to detail always amazed me. Every time I think of the Fantastic Four I think of George Perez. He has a Facebook page as well.
Other then that, tonight its Riders visiting Esks at Commonwealth. I'm looking forward to this one. Eventually the Riders have got to win one and I think our luck has run out. We don't fare to well when "Rider nation" comes to town but we're just as banged up as they are. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Our flat screen TV broadcasts out at 720P
but 1080p was just coming online when we bought our TV. It worked great as of about a year ago. Now we get signal drops often and heavy pixalation makes watching our TV a struggle at times. Now that I have some time off, I'm calling our cable company today to get some trouble shooting help
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the funeral of Edmonton Police Officer Const. Daniel Woodall. His funeral service is this morning. He was killed in the line of duty last Monday while investigating a hate crime incident. He was a proud member of the Edmonton Police service.
Daniel Craig who is the current actor playing James Bond has been trying to get out of this franchise since the beginning. He's got one more film after Spectre. The #1 odds on favorite to replace Craig will be Damian Lewis. Looking forward to seeing Spectre.
It's a pretty quiet week leading up to Friday: Then we have the inspector and I've got to head downtown for my Doctors appointment and then City Centre mall Coles see what Warhammer 40K Omnibus books they have and a bite to eat before home and the Esks/Lions pre season game. Anyway, that's about all for now.

The important thing last night was
I
got the job. Getting is one thing, holding is another. At least I get a
paid 15 minute break. The last place I worked for gave me only a ten
minute break.
The Internet site i09 the other day asked a very good question: "Which movie can you abandon for a pee break without missing anything?" Most likely that would apply to a lot of long movies. For me it was Star Trek the motion picture. That long part leading up to the Verger encounter. Some people say the 1998 Godzilla, and almost all Young Adult movies. There are a lot of others of course.

First day of Spring and we got a blast of winter
out there, typical. I wasn't out in it but Anne tells me we got about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Nothing like they had back East or anything like that. According to the long range forecast, were supposed to get 3 more days of snow after the weekend. Weather related, yesterday was a solar eclipse. There were only a few places in the world that got to see it live.
Anne received a coupon for a free pizza/wing meal from work last night as a reward for training new staff. After a bit of hassle spending about 40 minutes on the phone trying to get the pizza, she finally closed the order. Its on its way so hopefully it'll be here in 10-20 minutes. Since our finances are so low right now, the free pizza meal was a blessing.
When the pizza meal arrived we sat on the couch watching George Lazenby's James Bond enjoying our pizza meal and a bottle of diet cola. This was one of my favorite Bond films because of the location Switzerland and guest staring Tele Savalas. I used to like him in Kojack. Speaking about movies, we have got 2334 scene movie points. Just in time for the Summer releases.
*Update: This morning Anne rescued a semi stray cat she was looking after since last Autumn. The "owners" left the cat out in the freezing cold over the winter as Anne discovered the cat under a tool shed for shelter across from us taking cover from the winter elements. Anne brought the cat fresh blankets and cat food every night as part of her take out the trash routine in the early hours. No matter how cold it was, Anne went out there. About a week ago she noticed the cat pregnant. The "owners" still kept this poor thing left out in the cold, abandoned and left to die. After months of looking after the cat Anne couldn't bare it any more and gathered a cat cage and brought kitty in here and made arrangements with a 24 hour vet service downtown and called a taxi. Anne said she was waiting outside at 5:30 this morning and noticed the taxi speeding by her going the other direction. She came back into the apartment to call the cab company and the taxi driver called her back asking where she was. So she went back out got the cab and had a dispute with the driver along the way. She didn't know about Uber. I said "If you knew, you should have said something like, 'next time I'll call Uber' " That would have shut him up. The cab ride cost us $22. Anne wandered in at 6:45 this morning. The sad part of all this is this pregnant semi stray cat was Skippie's mother. At least now the cat can have her litter in comfort. I said, leave those cats alone. I think she got the message. Anyway, that's all for now.

The only down side of things
yesterday was the Oiler's lost and just about in the 2nd period of the game, the snow began falling. The snow hasn't let up since about 8pm and is forecast to go all day today.
Health wise, my insulin doesn't seem to be working because my blood sugar level has been very high over the last few days. Like in the 15 -18 range. Not good.
Yesterday, I was able to update my blog topics on Freemasonry and "My Philosophy." I also went and updated my Facebook page as well.
Two movies I'm looking forward to seeing next month are Captain America Winter Soldier and the new Tom Cruise movie, Edge of tomorrow. Saturday is a good day to go because I can go by myself after work.
I'm out of here for my 4-9 in about 12 hours but the shift more or less is fast. Anyway, that's about all for now.

That was a decisive victory for
the Seahawks but what was Denver thinking? Still I'm happy Seattle won. That was a blow out and then some!
I was doing computer research for most of my Sunday afternoon. The Intel Next Unit Computer or NUC, isn't bad but for something that can't get above 2 Ghz cpu speed and has only 16 Gb Ram, isn't something I'm interested in at the moment.
The new Captain America winter soldier and The Amazing Spiderman-2 looks awesome. I'm especially interested in seeing Captain America when it comes out later this Spring.
After the game I figured out how to upload pdf files to my Itouch. I needed to download iBooks and then I found a site that takes any url from a webpage and turns that page into a pdf. I need to open the pdf in the Firefox folder and upload it from my desktop to iTunes. Check on the pdf and sync and there it is in iBooks. Works really nice. Anyway, that's all for now.

I know I had a couple days off at
New Years but I've been on the job between my 2nd and 1st job. I think on the 18th I'm going to take 3 days off.
i09 has released a list of the 65 Science Fiction and Fantasy Movies to Watch out for in 2014. I like; The Legend of Hercules, a reboot of RoboCop, Jodorowsky's Dune, Captain America: The Winter Soldier (sequel), Transcendence. There are a lot more, but that's just a few. I might see the Captain America movie, maybe. The full list is here.
Last night's Monday night Raw went "Old School." That means taking the look and feel of the show back to it's beginning. They had the floor barricades like they did in the past, the announcers wore jackets like in the 80's, even the announce table was just a table that could have been a prop for a TLC tables ladders and chairs match. They had a a lot of WWE Legends there, wrestlers that the WWE calls Hall of Famer's. They had IRS,Ted DiBiase even Rikishi. Anne was hacking and coughing the whole time because our other TV has sound issues. It would have been great to have Vince McMahon and Jessie Ventura at the announce table. That would have been classic. Raw last night was excellent.
Speaking about our 2nd TV its having audio issues. We get the picture but no sound. Anne had tech support a week ago saying its probably old cables so they send us these AV cables that our TV can't use. So Anne got fed up and requested a service call. She said it has to do with the set box. Hopefully they'll fix that up today.
I'm in today from1-9pm. I'm up at about 9:30am this morning to give me 7.5 hours sleep. I wont be able to see the Saint Louis/Oiler game but I'm not missing much. Anyway, that's all for now.

We're facing some bitter wind out there
this morning, with some -38 wind chill. It's cold out there folks. The good news is after today we're going to be climbing up to a more comfortable -4.
We've got just over 2,100 Scene movie points we're trying to save up for Wrestlemania. We have more then enough but Wrestlemania won't be until March.
I was never really a fan of the Everly brothers but I was still caught off guard hearing the news that Phil Everly passed away yesterday. The cause of his death was complications attributed to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a combination of emphysema and bronchitis), brought on by a lifetime of smoking. This is what my mother died of at the age of 78. I was 5 years old when "Bye, bye love" came out. It wasn't music from my generation. I couldn't even say when I first even heard of the Everly brothers. Apparently they influenced a lot of people.
I'm hoping at the end of this month to get a new desk. I'm tired of these cramped computer desks or these student school type desks, that have very little room. I also need a good chair to go along with it. I'm not going to take out an account at LM until my hours are more or less steady.
My 2nd job will come to an end about the middle of the month. Then it resumes at the end of February for 3 months. As for today I'm working from noon-8pm and home by 9pm. Anyway, that's all for now.

I took my wife out
for Sunday brunch at Rickies yesterday afternoon. It was a nice little outing but the trains were crowded yesterday.
About 4:30pm she comes in with a new addition to the family. A nice white budgie with bits of blue fur. Anne decided to name it Pecker. Stupid name for a bird, yeesh.
I try to see the important genre movies that come out. Anne and I went to see 2 movies this year at the theater. We went to see the last GI Joe movie. I rate this 3/5 popcorn's. I wanted to see Star Trek into Darkness at the theater but we managed to see it in Video on Demand. That was the best movie of 2013 just like James Bond Skyfall was the best movie of 2012.
I had a great evening going over Lodge stuff and reading a bit. I updated my Goodreads Space Wolf Omnibus. I'm about 63% done and I hope to complete by the end of the year. Then I'm starting the Horus Heresy series. That's my reading project for the year more or less.
On tap today, is to go over more Lodge stuff and work on my track a bit. This afternoon, I'm watching a bit of CFL. After that watch Monday night Raw and watch the Oiler's lose, again.
This week is a short week but I'm having the weekend off because I'm going to try and get a ride out to Spruce Grove for a district meeting. Failing that I'm going to go to the South side and get that SSHD upgrade. My first choice is to go to the District meeting as it'd be nice to get out of the City. Even if it's just for a day and I'm inside for most of it. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I had a decent day yesterday despite thinking I had to get out
early because of the paving City crews were doing over night. I was actually at Corona station and in Tim's at about 9am ordering my breakfast Saturday morning.
This is awesome: In an i09 article recently talks about the worlds largest Star Wars collection. The Guinness book of world records recognizes Steve Sansweet's Star Wars collection. We had this guy here in Edmonton a few years back. Sansweet's Star Wars collection contains about 300,000 items at Rancho Obi-Wan in Petaluma, Calif. and was recognized in the Guinness book of records for 2014. I can't display the video thanks to Google screwing things up. So here's a link to the video:
Ok, so back to business: Work went well Saturday and despite it being a 6 hour shift and all I worked through it with just 1 break. By 4pm though I was getting a bit played out and could have a few extra hours. After work I went to Audrey's and got my book asked if I could wait until the end of the month and begin to pick up the other 3 items. The owner said sure as I said my hours have been cut but Anne and I have a bit of a plan ahead, so we'll see. Burger Baron is a few doors down from Audrey's and I wanted to get a large order of fries to take home but the place was surprisingly locked up. So I caught the train to Clareview instead and walked home from the station through "Clareview Mall." It was very warm and I was sweating by the intersection by our place right where the paving crew had laid down that sticky primer tar. By this time all 4 lanes had been opened up. I had to walk around and fight through breaks in the traffic to avoid getting tar on my shoes.
Finally at home in the elevator to our 2nd floor. Check my shoes, no paving tar. I was grateful I was home and I found the Bombers/Eskimo game on TV halfway through the 1st quarter. I had my left over lunch, put the fan on and relaxed and enjoyed the game. It was a monkey off the back for the Eskimo's 7-24 victory! A much needed win but the rubber match is next Friday in Winnipeg and they want this one back. Both teams now share the 2-9 record. There were also 2 Oiler pre season games. Oilers/Flames and Flames/Oilers taking place at the same time. We lost here at the Rex but won there at the saddle dome.
Not much going on today, I'm relaxing working on a track and having brunch. We're going to order Video on Demand Star Trek "Into Darkness." For $6 its a good deal. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Its been a hot one this afternoon
evening.
The topic on for Coast overnight is survival. Not one of my favorite topics but I like to catch any of the "other" news they have on just at the beginning of the first hour but Wells unlike Noory doesn't cover a lot of this sort of thing.
The BC/Al's game Friday night, I never thought it would be a tie game because the Al's were so hungry for a win at home and they got it 38-39 for a Proline tie. Then last night Stamps/Argo's. It would have been an Argo's win except Ricky Ray got injured and had to be put on the sidelines. That was the momentum shift Calgary needed. This game was hyped as a Grey Cup rematch from last year. Calgary won 35-14. I forgot about the significance of the game. Then the double header today. Winnipeg/Hamilton. 14-37 for the home team. I called that one right. Then the Riders/Esks game and the Esks held the lead twice on the 1 yard line Esks football to take us into the lead late in the fourth quarter. The coach took our young quarterback Mike Riley out of play thinking back up Qb had this. Then after the ball is snapped the ball is fumbled then recovered. They should have gone for a field goal to tie the game at 30. Instead of going for the field goal they take the replacement Qb out insert Mike Riley and he spots his man in the end zone, the ball is tossed and it's picked off! Riders have possession and wind the clock down. Another Proline tie! Riders 30-27. Up next is the labor day classic and we got Friday Hamilton/BC. Sunday Winnipeg is at Saskatchewan, Monday its Edmonton/Calgary. Tuesday Montreal/Toronto. I'll be working up until 7pm so I'll miss that game. The labor day classic is the unofficial mid way part of the season.
This summer was so short and NHL training camp for the Edmonton Oilers is right around the corner. September 14th.
That's enough of sports.
I'm not a great fan of the Batman franchise. I liked the first 4 movies. I didn't see the Christopher Nolan series yet. So now Ben Affleck has been selected as the new Batman in the 2015 Batman/Superman movie. There's a lot of buzz about this, to which I say...meh. My response to the hoopla of Ben Affleck.
Seems that Obama is going to make a decision about Syria and about their use of chemical weapons on their own people. Obama wont do anything because Syria has Russia in they hip pocket. Syria can basically do what ever it wants. if Russia backed Iraq to the extent it does Syria then the war in Iraq never would have happened. Just my opinion
Fan expo in Toronto's last day is tomorrow and it looked like a good one. We get our own fan expo here in Edmonton September 28-29. It's not as big as the one we had last year. This year, Garrett Wang of Star Trek Voyager will be there. Christopher Lloyd. and a bunch of others I'm not familiar with. It's a stripped down version of last years event but for $20 bucks it's not a bad deal but there's nothing special for yours truly. I probably wont be going.
I took a sleeping pill before bed early this morning and other then waking up to pee the odd time, the pill really zonked me out. I remember up about 8:30am to use the bathroom and I passed out right after that and woke up at about 12:40pm. I like to wake up about 10am on a Saturday. Anyway that's all for now.

Because my
hours
were low and I'm kind of glad it worked out this way because I'm saving
up for my laptop upgrade. Instead I'm buying the Pizza so Anne doesn't
have to cook tonight.
Possibly Wednesday I'm thinking about going into Future shop and getting a 2.5" hard drive upgrade for my laptop. I'm going to go from. Most laptops hard drives run at 5400 rpm. I'm getting a hard drive running at 7200 rpm. I have a few programs that would take advantage of a faster hard drive. I also want to see if they could change my os from 32 bit to 64 bit so I can install more ram. I'll be doing this Wednesday after work. Thanks to not going to K-Days, that alone will save me a lot of cash for this upgrade.
After Anne left for work I stumbled upon the closing scenes of "Ice station Zebra." Talk about an All star cast: Rock Hudson Ernest Borgnine Patrick McGoohan. This was probably released right after "The Prisoner." It's a classic movie.
I had a good Saturday. For once I didn't go anywhere this weekend, just stayed home and watched a couple of football games. Tomorrow, less the football, its more of the same. Anyway that's all for now.

Even though it was a short week, it felt a bit longer then
it should have been. Just today and 2 days off.
Yesterday after work (Thursday) I went over to Audrey's and bought another "Horus Heresy" novel. I've got the 1st 8 and I ordered another 4. I get 4 at a time but I buy 1 of them a week.
My contacts around the city are saying some good thins about the new Star Trek movie they saw. Some of the guys at work were raving about it as well. One of the girls at Audrey's said she saw it twice. I might see it Wednesday night and book off work an hour early as the movie starts at 5:20pm.
After work I'm heading home, probably to watch some of the NHL playoffs and watch Smackdown. Anyway, that's all for now.

With the go ahead for
the upcoming downtown arena district, over the next 5 years, about $5B worth of development will occur in the area. Plus the LRT tracks will going along 102nd ave, it’s going to be an exciting time for the city. Also, the old Greyhound bus station will be turned into a huge condo tower. Over 20 years the arena district will provide an annual $160M into City tax coffers. That can fix up a lot of pot holes.
I had a pretty good day yesterday on the job and am wondering what’s going to happen next after this current project?
Star Trek “Into Darkness” was released yesterday and uggh, it’s in 3D. I watched GI Joe in 3D and didn’t like it at all. The story was, Meh and predictable although I did like the mountain Kung Fu scenes. I’ll watch the new Star Trek movie and as much as I’m a Star Trek fan as anyone else but I’m not going to go out of my way to see it. I‘ll wait until it comes on video on demand or something.
On the news ETS is utilizing shuttle buses from Clareview to Rexall but I’ll probably take the #2 bus down to Lodge Saturday morning.
After work tomorrow I’m going to get another “Horus Heresy” Warhammer 40K novel as I’m trying to get them all while they are still in print. I know The Black library has them in Ebook format but I prefer the hard copy. Anyway, that's about all for now.
