Last Thursday I went and got my

Covid 3rd dose "Booster" shot as it's called. The Booster is in reaction to the Omicron variant. The difference this round is I got the shot at the Pharmacy in Franco's strip mall Hermitage and 50th street. Same type Phizer, which according to a presser, "completely naturalizes". the Omicron variant. The shot didn't cost me anything.

Anne and I had a nice Christmas. Late Christmas evening we had her Christmas turkey dinner. I enjoyed it. We usually exchange gifts on Christmas eve after Anne returns from mass but Covid changed that for many. Anne told me that her sister Donna in Winnipeg, separated the unvaccinated from the vaccinated so mass can be enjoyed by all. Our family is Anglican but I've never known mom or dad to participate in anything like church. If they did, it would be St. Lawrence by Parkland school. No doubt their last participation would have been when my younger brother was baptized

The James Web space telescope was launched Christmas morning as it's on its way to the L2 point 1.5 million miles away from earth. It should reach that point 29 days since launch. After a bunch of tests. We should see early images sometime in June.

As for yours truly, I'm trying out a new font. This doesn't look like Comic Sans. This week is the last week of the year. It's been a heck of a year, what with Anne causing a small kitchen fire, in July and us moving into Wyndham crossing next door, yeesh. The good news is there was no loss of my income in 2021. That could be a good or bad thing. Won't know until August. About tax time, I might need to work 3 days a week. This week I've got to call Walmart today, and Healthcare solutions. I'm about to have another track uploaded to Jim Shannon on sounds this week. Not much going on other than that. I'm still active on  FacebookThis might be my last post for 2021. I'll be back in the New Year. Happy New Year everyone. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm expecing my employer to call

between 1-3pm, saying she's out in the parking lot and has my holiday gift bag for me.  Also, I could be receiving my Camlink this weekend. I hope it's today.

Sad entertainment news this week hearing about the death of Mike Nesmith of the Monkees at 79. Speaking of age and dying, I'll be 70 later next year. That's kind of scary.

Not much going on this weekend. Next week, Monday my job is having a holiday party over "Teams." It's just for a few hours. Tuesday, I'm off to get my Covid Booster shot Kennedale Shoppers drug mart. Wednesday Anne and I want to try a place we haven't tried since about the time we got married: Canyon grill in the Rosslyn hotel. They have everyday breakfast, Then we have Christmas weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.

What Camlink does is

connect a mirrorless or DSLR camera to the computer. Most cameras (including my new Sony ZV-E10) has a micro USB slot. I bought a micro HDMI to a full-size HDMI cable, so it fits into the Camlink from the camera. The other end of the Camlink has a USB 3 end to the computer. The Camlink is about the size of a flash thumb drive. Camlink is made by Elgato and sells for ~ $170. I found it on Amazon for Cad $136😀 I save ~ $35! It should be here between now and next Monday.

Other than the above, I'm enjoying my time off. I have a critical lodge Zoom meeting tomorrow night. Looking forward to this. However, I'm anxious to get back to work.

Next Monday is our staff Christmas party over Zoom. Should be fun. Also on the 21st I'm going in for my Covid Booster shot. It's not being held at an AHS outlet. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday at last

and the weekend. There may be a new video upload to Jim Shannon on Sounds this weekend as well, idk yet.

This week I've been getting one too many robocalls. Call control is a way to screen for unwanted calls since we don't have voice mail. As I understand it when somebody calls something that sounds like an answering machine comes on. "This number has call control. Press # (random single-digit number) to get through." I can add a number onto a list like a Do not call (DNC). Most of these robocalls are sophisticated to use a different number each time. Anyone I know, whether they are struggling with me or not that has my home phone # can call between 10-3pm. If I know you, I'll pick up. I won't be rude. We're night Owls, so our bedtime is like 4am.

I booked my Covid booster shot. I'll be at the Kennedale Shoppers Drugmart on the 21st at 1pm. If Mcdonald's is open I'll get a bite to eat.

Yesterday was our

21st wedding anniversary. We'll be in our '90's if we see 50 years.  I was in my 40's when Anne and I got married back in 2000.

I finally got that Cubase track loaded up on my YouTube channel. Reastream, OBS, screen rec, none of these worked for me. All I did was record the video, render in place the audio synched both assets in Shotcut, and render the video, which recorded sound and video. Easy.

Yesterday at the Doctor's I got a pneumonia shot, and also an ECG, plus prescriptions for most of my meds. Anne filled 2 of them for me last night.

I'm determined to figure out why my Nintendo Switch on-screen font is reversed when in streaming mode. Anyway, that's all for now.

Out for lodge practice this

evening. I'm filling in for the JD role. My lines are easy, about 2 minutes. Other than my ride proof of vaccination at the door, mask, social distancing, do my bit should be in and out. I hope. Thursday is showtime.

Oilers are back in first place in the West with, 62 games remaining. Not bad for a beat-up D. Last night the Oiler won in Vegas 3-2. Next month there are 8 home games (most of them are all clustered together.) and 7 away games.

The onboard microphone, of my Sony ZV E10, Is pretty good. Leaps and bounds over my Logitech webcam mic but the Sony mic could be improved. After the SSD upgrade, I'll probably go for the Rode wireless Go2. All the tests I've seen with this mic seem to be the best for this camera. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, November 26, 2021

I'm officially off work until sometime in January

which is perfect. I got lodge practice Sunday and installation Thursday. The last time I think I was in lodge was in March 2020.

I have my streaming studio almost set up. All I need is better studio lighting and a stream deck. Upgrading my computer will be sometime in the Spring.

Next week I'm booking a Doctors appointment to get a prescription for some Dobebet ointment. In the new year, it's 4 days/week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, November 16, 2021

So now we

have building inspectors coming here today. We're barely 3 months in and already they are starting on us. It's not just our suite but all of them on this floor. As long as they are not here at 4pm when I start my shift.

About an hour ago, I uploaded a YouTube video and this thing is still processing at their end. Longest upload ever.

Global warming is at it again for BC. First, it was the town of Lytton in the summer, now it's flooding in Merritt about 60k from Lytton. Right now we're getting our first major snowfall of the season, on the day of the Fifa Canada Mexico game. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, November 13, 2021

I'm thinking of

4 days/week instead of the 3. One day off after working 6, isn't enough. I'll be 70 in the next 9 months. It's bad enough I'm working at all, but I don't mind.

While I'm not a soccer fan, Canada last night won their FIFA qualifying round and we got into 8th spot. The 2 most noteworthy things about last night, was there were 40,000 plus fans and the most fans at Commonwealth (Brick) field in a long time. It's good for the city.

My Sony ZV-10 works great. I just need a lav mic to enhance the audio and a tabletop mic stand for condenser mics for the camera. The ball mount I already have an adapter. The mic stand has just enough height to clear my monitor. Plus the 3 foot USB C/A cable can reach the back of my computer USB ports. Slick. I'll be ordering the mic stand this evening. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, November 11, 2021

Four days off and three more as

of today, then back to work Monday. At least the shift is short, 4 hours.

I'm seriously thinking about deactivating my Facebook page. I have a few people stopping by to react, that sort of thing, but I'm not enjoying it as much as I did. Facebook's shine is fading. I'm still keeping messenger open, for family and friends. I've had my fun with Facebook, from 2010-2021. I'm still keeping Blogger open and I'm on Twitter and always on You Tube. The only value in my Facebook page now is that it links to Facebook. I might be just taking a break as well. When I deactivate it, I'm going to make one last post.

I kind of followed the Oilers game. At one point they were down by 1 goal in Boston. Then when I went to check on the finale score, 5-3 Oilers? 😃 Holy crap. Tomorrow the boys are in Buffalo. Anyway, that's all for now .

Thursday, November 4, 2021

I've been working pretty steady over the last

few weeks. I usually try to post once a week when I'm working like this. our busy months at work are from October-April. Things can get busy in May as well, but beginning in January 2022, I'll be moving over to 3 days a week.

Last weekend I went and bought the Sony ZV-E10 mirrorless camera. Its mainly aimed at content creators. in my case for my YouTube channel "Jim Shannon on sounds." This was an expensive acquisition. What makes this camera special is that it has a headphone jack as well as an audio jack for a mic. Plus it can shoot video up to the length of its video card size. And its pop-out screen folds away from the body of the camera. Plus it has interchangeable lenses. So I've been playing with that off and on all week.

Earlier this morning before bed, I went and placed an Amazon order for a miro hdmi cable and a USB c charging cable, plus a pair of under-the-desk kitchen cabinets so I can store my cables and power bars now situated behind my 27" monitor. I'm hoping to get some time off from Remembrance day on so I can organize my workspace. My big project for (if I get any) time off.

Anyway, everything is ok from here. Last week I got my flu shot. Saturday is busy as we're having a meeting in Teams at 9am. It's a 6 hour day, uggh. It's all good. Anyway, that's all for now

Sunday, October 24, 2021

Now we're having an issue

with our property management company here saying they need an update of our active tenant insurance, which our provider said on the phone with me yesterday, they sent them a copy. Apparently, management here needs this copy by Wednesday or we could be evicted. our provider told me they sent an email of the form to a different email than the one I have. Management needs to know where to look for that form. One phone call tomorrow will clear this up. More stress I don't need.

My schedule this week is 4-9, Saturday 10-3. It's much better than 3-9 and 10-6pm. We're also moving paydays on a bi-weekly schedule every 2 weeks, rather than on the 15th and end of the month. This is easier to manage when I have work.

My 500Gb Samsung nvme m.2 SSD (about the size of a stick of Ram) on my motherboard has about 14Gb of space left. What makes this worse is that this is my C drive. I don't like mixing brands around but my 3-year-old PC already has a retired XPG brand SSD in my desktop tower. I'm looking at getting the 4Tb SSD m.2 drive. I have an external enclosed kit here, so cloning the internal drive is no problem. I'm also comfortable in installing the new SSD onto the motherboard and going into the computer BIOS to change the boot order of the drives. I hope to pick up the new SSD next weekend after work, a bit to eat, and hopefully my new Vlogging camera as well

Last week I bought a subscription to Envato elements to enhance my YouTube videos/channel. I posted my latest video from last week here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gtQxQcUTls

I'm not sure for how long I'm going to use this service because it is quite pricey. I was going to buy a subscription to Story Blocks, but I could never get a hold of the company and I had trouble ordering the product. Plus, I can only handle about $65/month worth of subscriptions anyway. I have Envato elements, Output's Arcade, and Ampify's Launchpad.

I'm going to post here on the weekends from now on. Anyway, That's about all for now.

Tuesday, October 19, 2021

Not a lot going on this week

Yesterday was our city election. Earlier today our cat Skippy had one of her eyes removed. I'm working throughout the week 5-9. I uploaded a video yesterday. It's going to be a good week. Oilers won this evening 6-5 over Anaheim. It's a good week so far, other than Skippy. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, October 14, 2021

Got my hours for next

week. Looks good Tuesday-Saturday. This afternoon, it's 3-9 then another 4 days off.

Some odds and ends: Tuesday our cat Skippy, is going in for an eye operation to have her left eye removed. It's another $1200 expense, which is why I'm holding off on the camera. Maybe in the Spring. I already bought (for $12/month) a subscription for Novation's launchpad and I want to get a subscription to story blocks. Right now, Skippy's eye surgery is more important than a $1,000 camera. However, I'm seriously thinking about running out to get the 2Tb SSD m.2 drive and some glucose tablets. The SSD drive is badly needed and is $100 off.

The Oilers won their first game last night. Other teams in our conference, haven't played yet. It's too early to tell right now. Oilers host Calgary Saturday night. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, October 9, 2021

Enjoying day 2 of my

4 days off and because of the civic election, I have a short work week next week. Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone.

It hit me as I woke up this morning: Stream deck. These are cool gadgets that I can load anything into and they have been around for a while. They hook up to the computer. They come in different sizes. Some are the size of a pack of smokes, others are the size of a pocketbook. Stream USB decks are desktop devices on a stand that have rows of clear plastic buttons. The buttons can be customizable. I can load Giff files, wav, sound bites. All kinds of things. One company has cornered the market on these items. A YouTube search for them and you'll see what I mean. Very useful for my music production, to add more spice to my videos.

Speaking about the municipal election Sohi is in the lead. For the sake of the WLRT, I'm hoping Sohi is elected. Mike Nickle is against the WLRT so he can cash in on those against the WLRT. Meanwhile, millions of $ spent on design, engineering studies, land expropriation, consultation, other levels of Government funding, and other stakeholders are at risk, not to mention the hundreds of jobs at stake. The funding is already in place. Let's go Sohi!

Tonight I'll be watching the Oilers in the last pre-season game. In the last game, McDavid looked worn out. Next week the NHL plays for real. Is McDavid going to be the next Carry Price to seek "mental help?" I'm not an insider, so I don't know. Anyway, that's all for now. Let's go Oilers.

Wednesday, October 6, 2021

Do I vote tomorrow to relocate lodge or

not? Or do I voice my concerns before casting my ballot, or let my reply be through silence? One thing is certain, a decision will be made and it looks like the lodge will vote to relocate. So what do I do? I can make it to Highlands hall on my own. What with ETS and the big bus redesign, getting back requires me to ask for a ride. I really don't like this.

With, Facebook having its global outage yesterday it had a ripple effect globally. Facebook had to use Twitter to get the word out. Whistleblowers.

Last night on the job one of my colleagues in chat posted a photo of a sunset smoky sky. I learned later that this was a forest fire in Saskatchewan. Strange to have a forest fire in October.

What now with single event betting in place in Canada, I'm thinking about placing my first bet. At the moment, just doing some research. Most likely betting on my team away, odds are higher, than if they were at home. I might start playing Proline again. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, September 30, 2021

Today is the first ever

National day for Truth and Reconciliation day. It's basically a day to observe the residential school's issue of indigenous children and honoring indigenous people. It's not recognized here in Alberta but our company is recognizing it. I support this.

Work continues to go well as well as can be expected. I like the project. My hours are good as well.

Other than that, not a lot going on. I wanted to go to the registry over here and I still might do that today. Not sure. I need my new address on my Government ID. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, September 25, 2021

Trudeau spent $610 million

bucks for an election that got him 2 more years and everyone else nowhere. What a waste.

I got a full day on the job today.  The Elks are in a bye week. iPad OS 15 dropped Monday. Not sure of all the changes. I've got close to 30 hours "in the bank".

So the 2 Michael's were released in almost what is called a prisoner swap for Wanzhou. Two flights at the same time. Not tied together, yeah right. Anyway, that's all for now

Monday, September 20, 2021

Not a lot going

last week. I'm more active on Facebook but I still like to keep this going.

Yesterday I have my proof of Covid-19 vaccination. I'm trying to get Anne's set up but having a slight problem.

The big item is the Federal election. We don't have our voter registration cards. We were given ours but there was no time or funds to get a change of address in. Everything went towards moving. I was lucky when Anne went to turn the keys in she picked up our mail at the old place, which included an envelope containing my vaccination records key.

Overnight, iPad 0S 15 is set to launch, so looking forward to that, and the Federal election. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Thursday, September 9, 2021

Sometimes I get asked

"Hey, Jim why do you shop Amazon and not local business?" Mainly because a local business doesn't have what I want in stock and or if they do I have to go across town to get it. Besides, there is an Amazon warehouse in Leduc just an hour's drive away. I can order on a Monday and get it Friday. Right to my apartment door. And they won't deliver or leave an item until it's signed for. It's a good service and employs local people.

Finally, the Elks won a labour day classic. First time since 2011. Mainly because Calgary's QB was out of the lineup. The rubber match is Saturday here at Commonwealth. Can't wait.

I also get asked: "Yo, Jim. Your are almost 70. Why do you have a YouTube music channel? You are not even a musician." True. However, I consider myself to be an electronic-music arranger/sample-based musician. I work mostly in loops samples, using my iPad, and computer. Plus my channel is mostly a hobby. I'm not in it to make money. I like to figure things out that I'm interested in. Anyway, that's all for today.

Monday, September 6, 2021

We're finally in our new place

and it's not bad. It's quite a bit more expensive than our last place. It has a few quirks. It's hard to climb the stairs but I'm more or less used to it. We like it. We have our isp set up, including our work computers. I went out and bought a new computer monitor. It's 27 inches and has the 2 HDMI slots I need. Earlier I was playing Zelda Links awakening. Everything works great despite it having a few seconds of latency.

We're still sorting things out around here. We were going to get a change of address but that's a $100 expense and I'm not back to work yet. Hopefully, that will happen this week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, August 31, 2021

We're in our new place

at last. Yesterday it took a good 5 hours to load our stuff and take the rest to the dump/eco station. Then unload to the new place. The Transport guys were great. About an hour later, Telus came by and did their thing. That took about 2 hours. Telus was great. Thanks, Antonio. So now 2 days later, we're unpacking setting things up, etc. Two "casualties:" I had to fork out almost $400. And When Anne brought my computer the monitor display fell out and took a ride down an embankment It's now flickering, so I'll need another monitor. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, August 28, 2021

A few loads more before the big one Monday

morning. Our stuff gets unloaded last and the eco station (dump) gets moved out first. That way when the movers return with our stuff they can give us the invoice. We're hauling our computers over on our own. The movers get paid cash. The good news is, the heavy lifting is over for me. It's the unpacking and setting up computers routing ethernet and coax cables, PVR boxes, and terminals. Hopefully, if our isp doesn't bail on us like last time, we should be set up Monday night (fingers crossed)

Canadians are going to the polls, September 20th. At this point,  if an election were called today both leading candidates would come out with a minority. The NDP is not even in the running, but a lot can happen in 20 days for them. I think what's going to burn the incumbent is his handling of getting out the 2100 Afghan interpreters and other assets Canada has. Voters might realize that the Taliban moved so fast. The above could burn JT.

The last I heard 12 possibly 14 staff and players of the Edmonton football club (Elks) have been tested for Covid and are in self-isolation. Our covid case numbers have gone way up since the Alberta Government removed all Covid restrictions. July 27th here in Edmonton we had 82 cases in hospital and 21 in the ICU. Now a month later thanks to the unvaccinated and the Delta variant, we're sitting at 336-74. Some of those cases had just one shot. So now some Provinces are working on a vaccine passport. I'm in the process of getting one. The passports are to show local businesses that I have been fully vaccinated. Enter it into their system for next time, good to go. Drive-through is still ok. Meanwhile, the Elks had to forfeit Thursdays Argo's game. That means Toronto gets a free win. Anyway, the next post (hopefully) will be in our new place.

Wednesday, August 25, 2021

We're almost 70% moved in which

means the movers are here next Monday. By this time next week, we will be in our new place. My main concern is getting our isp installed so by early next week we'll have internet etc.

We're into week 2 of the Federal election campaign. I'm not sure I'm going to get involved in this one because the NDP will just prop up the Liberals with their support in the polls.

Over 11 Edmonton Elk CFL players have contracted Covid, which means they won't play the Argo's tomorrow. Elks forfeit the game, so it's a loss. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Sunday, August 15, 2021

We had some issues

with getting our isp on the 11th. They never showed up! After several attempts on the phone, we have everything set up for the 30th. Move-in day. The movers arriving at 9am, and we should have everything inside the new place by the time the isp installer arrives with the updated equipment. We just have small stuff and we're transporting the small stuff over in a shopping cart. Our computers are going over before the move as our isp account will be switched off and on at the new place same day.

Last night I made a Facebook post to the Northside Hub group praying for rain. Since then that post has received 237 likes and hearts (no haters) 87 comments (I replied to most of them) and 4 shares 😮

Canadians are going to the polls on September 20th. Trudeau wants a majority Government. Not on my vote. First of all, it's bad form to hold an election during a pandemic. Trudeau is putting his quest for a majority Government over the health of Canadians. I hope it backfires on him.

Monday, August 9, 2021

While I'm not making this

official, I have left Facebook. I still use the groups and friends function, so I haven't officially closed my account. I'm just not posting on it anymore.

After 21 years for me and 24 years for my wife, as of the end of this month, we will no longer be living at our current residence. We have been planning this for a long time. We have our isp coming in on the 11th to the new location to install the current account for transfer. The movers comming in on the 30th. We've been hauling the smaller stuff over to the new place for over the past few days now. The new place doesn't even use Epcore as its power provider. We're still in the area in a 2 bedroom apartment, with our cats, birds and a smaller fish tank. Our new place is fixing the cement steps leading to our building section today.

Anne's off to do a load of laundry at the new place this afternoon, and hopefully get the ball rolling on our power account and check the mail. I'm going to miss the elevator here. I'll be posting updates at least 2 times a week here. For my friends and colleauges, you can still reach me on Facebook. That's your best point of contact.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, August 3, 2021

We're into

August. July was a horrible month. Big changes are happening this month. Stay tuned.

Not much going on. I'm about to drop another video onto my You Tube channel, Jim Shannon on sounds. The other day of nearly a five +  year absence, I uploaded a track to Sound Cloud but my isp is giving me some grief. Most likely I can access it on my iPad.

This week The Edmonton Elks are back. There is no training camp. 14 games The Grey Cup will be December 14th. Usually the Grey Cup is in November. Still not working but that's because I'm in between projects. I'm hoping to have August off. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, July 27, 2021

Enjoying my summer

off and hopefully next week the new project begins. Whatever it is. not much going on. I'm trying to save up for my Sony a6400 vlogging camera. Its a birthday present for myself.

At the moment I'm tinkering around with a UK Drill beat but i'm having some issues with the playhead in Fl. Studio.  Not sure why its moving so fast.

The Elk's new Season begins August 5th and the Oilers are back to their pre season              September 26th. First time we're going to have CFL and Oilers seasons overlap. Anyway that's all for now.

Wednesday, July 21, 2021

Just enjoying my summer

Looking forward to when I can socialize again. I'm considering North Eastern Seniors Association (nesa). One bus ride away is Londonderry mall, and after nesa, get a bite to eat at Albert's, and the bar 66 is behind Albert's and play the slots for a bit. I want to get an Edmonton Elk's hat at Lids as well.

Speaking of Sports the Oilers have released their pre season schedule September 26th and it overlaps the CFL regular season in progress. In October there will be games 3-4 times a week in some places. Anyway that's all for now.

Friday, July 16, 2021

Its been a busy week

Anne is doing her usual Friday night shift. I had some work for tomorrow but with what we're faced with, I'm exhausted so I took a break and will do the next project. She has a Zoom meeting with her higher ups for 1pm.

Yesterday I had to go to the post office over here by the Clareview shopping centre to get out a time sensitive document. I sent it out by express mail. I also cashed in my $20 scratch and win winnings as well.  With all the forest fires in BC, the air quality index has been high and a bit more difficult in breathing. Plus having a mask on because of Covid didn't help.

Earlier this week I put in an application for something called Greater Edmonton foundation. Its basically saying that your housing in their buildings stays at 30% of ones annual income. It doesn't really help us that much unless its just employment income and not all sources of household income. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, July 10, 2021

Its been a crazy week

Some things I'm not at liberty to day right now. What Anne and I are being faced with is life changing. Nobody is dying so relax.

Not much is really happening, except the above. I released a new video last night to my You tube channel. My channel's logo is about to change as I want it to reflect what the channel is about. I'm changing my logo to read Shannon on Sounds in a circle with Loops, Apps, plugins, Fx Experimental, sketches within a circle.

The new release that Nintendo had last week looks interesting but Like the iPad pro 11 inch and 12 inch Nintendo might go that route. I'm just going to stick with what I have.  Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, July 6, 2021

I'm having some time off at the

moment. We're also back to more comfortable weather conditions. This is just the way I like it +17 but temperatures are to going up to +27 tomorrow, so we're in for a few hot days yet.

We had a kitchen fire over the weekend which inspired Anne to get a dry fryer. We had the “handy man” here to fix our leaky faucet and the plumber is in tomorrow just to make sure everything is sealed and works ok. We got a new faucet that has no taps, which is different. The fire we had chard one of the cupboard doors. Its in the shop being sanded and stained. The main concern is our stove as its in itself is a fire hazard. The fire which began on the stove pretty much burned the stoves overhead. We're getting that back, soon, and hopefully a new stove.

At least I have time off to get all of this done. Anyway, its game #5 of the Stanley Cup playoffs tomorrow in Tampa Bay. At least the Habs won one game. So that's about all for now.

Tuesday, June 29, 2021

Yesterday we got to a high temperature

of +34*c. Today even hotter to ~ 35*c. And I'm feeling the heat. Even our budgie birds are labouring in this heat. Plus I have a full 5 hour shift ahead of me from 2-7pm.

We're supposed to climb to ~ +35* today which is a record for us here in Edmonton. That's the big story around here is the heat.  The Habs lost game one last night to a score of 5-1 over Tampa. My prediction for this series is Tampa in 5. Sorry Canadians, but the important thing is you got this far taking out Toronto, Winnipeg and Vegas.

Other then trying to beat the heat, not much else is going on. I'm hoping once this project is done tomorrow, I get some time off. Next project could be as early as next week. Anyway, that's all for now.

Montreal Canadians earned a

spot in the Stanley cup final. Very cool. Now all we need now is for New York Islanders to beat Tampa Bay lightning. Two Eastern teams Montreal representing the Clarence Campbell Western Conference, and either Newy York Islanders or Tampa bay lightning, reresenting the Prince of Wales. Thanks Covid, lol.

I'm working tonight and Saturday plus 3 days next week. I hope that's the end of it for awhile. I could use a couple of months off.

We're about to head into some really active warm weather, after today calling for some +32's, even some +34's. And we're going to have +27-+30's over the next week, uggh.

Earlier I went and downloaded from the app store Synthmaster 2. Its got somehing like 2,000 patches its Auv3. Its a full synth capable of programing as well. I'm also enjoying my Loopcloud Studio account. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday I received my 2nd dose

of Pfizer. I had the say off but i probably could have worked the shift. I really hadn't experienced any side effects. It doesn't mean that I still can get Covid, it just means i've got another tool in the tool box to fight against it.

I alsmost bought the Sony Zv-1 Vlogging camera. At $800 Canadain it was a good deal, However I would need a few accesories, like the tripod and the Rode wireless go mic. I like the Sony because it can shoot in 4k and has a recording time of 70 minutes. Once all the accesories are bought, the camera will cost as much as my computer a few years ago.

I've still got hours for this week. Not sure when the project will end as its still up in the air. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, June 18, 2021

Not much going on that a

Twitter post wouldn't cover. Earlier this week we began the new project. I got a full say of it tomorrow. Just watching the NHL play offs. Monday I have off to get my Covid 2nd dose. Two weeks after that I'd be fully vaccinated.

Today because 70% of this country's popeulation has 1 dose of a Covid-19 shot, Kenney has launched stage 3 of the open for summer economic relaunch plan. All Covid 19 health restrictions are lifted. No mask wearing and or social distancing. Mass crowds can gather at concerts and other events. Until all of Alberta has had to shots, watch hospitalization numbers climb 2 weeks into this. RIght now just  under 1 million Canadians have 2 shots. I'll be one of them Monday. Anyway, that's all  for now.

Monday, June 7, 2021

If this is my summer all I can say

is bring it. I hope everything remains status quo pension wise. I like the job I have because its casual and part time. I might have some work coming up next week but they have limited hours. I wont mind sitting this one out I'll know more about my pension status for 2022 at the end of this month.

Next week I'll be booking for my 2nd Covid Phizer. Most likely I'll get my shot by the end of the month. Same place, Northgate mall. Anne can book her's at the end of this month. Its all good.

At noon I'll be checking in on Apple's WWDC 21. I'm working on the finale touches of a video for upload this afternoon. I'm trying to do one video music sketch a week. Also, at 6 is game #4 Winnipeg/Montreal of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Habs could sweep the series tonight and move on to round 4. I'll be watching that this evening to round out my day. Anyway, that's all for now.

Unless there is Another change

the CFL has announced yesterday that the league has ordered a return-to-play August 5th. By that time if hospitalization rates are holding under 500, stage 3 (early July) is a full reopen of the Alberta economy due to Covid 19.

Speaking of which Stage 1 is now under way as of today. Spray parks are open, hair salons can now accept clients with certain conditions of course. Stage 2 might get under way mid June and Stage 3 early July. No restrictions.

Also it was announced that the Alberta Government will also allow anyone that got their Covid first vaccine dose before March that they can book their 2nd dose now. Those that got their first dose in April (me) can book June 14th for their 2nd shot. Those that got their first dose in May (My wife) can book their 2nd dose May 28th. This is good news. Anyway, that's all for now.

I need to be better on top of things

because I had no idea that the CFL season was canceled. Its not like I didn't see any presser on it or anthing. I even changed my Facebook banner to reflect the Edmonton Football club training camp kick off game I thought was for 2pm. I'm hoping as we get more Covid vaccines into people's arms we can have some kind of a season begining July 1st.

All this week I've been working on a latin beat from Arcade samples, uploading them to iCloud and into my iPad and into Audio Share for AUM. I had a few challenges but it doesn't look like I'll have anything ready for this month.

This morning I filled out the 2021 Canadian census. It was pretty easy. It took about 5 minutes. I had work surveys that were more complicated then this. Anyway that's about all for now.

Wednesday, May 26, 2021

Its been a bit on the cold side lately

but that's mainly because of the wind. +15 isn't cold but we're on the shady part of the bilding. We're supposed to get warmer temperatures during the week.

EE CFL is underway with traning camp. Game 1 for the Edmonton 🏈football club. Its still not that clear what thanks to these sponsorship pressure for a name change. Too me the Edmonton Football club will always be called Eskimo's. Its never meant to be a derogetory or racist. Over sincitive pc types see racisim in just about evreything these days. Also Premier Kenney was saying that there could be a good chance there could be fans in the seats at Commonwealth this summer.

In about 5 weeks I'll be booking for my 2nd Covid dose, unless like some Provinces as vaccines become more availible, the 14 weeks in between doses is reduced. That'd be great if I can get it done by mid June. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, May 22, 2021

It the May long weekend

and other then the Oilers losing 2 in a row during the 1st round of the playoffs, its been an interesting couple of days. The Oilers are off to Winnipeg for 2 back to back games. They are in trouble.

I was able to get another You Tube video uploaded to my Jim Shannon on Sounds You Tube channel. And I'm now at 75 subscribers. I'm hoping to reach 100 by the end of the year. Its a long shot but I'm working on new content and hopefuly get 2 video's upload a month.

We've been geting some below seasonal weather lately.  We have a couple of rain days including holiday Monday next week. Also this weekend I'm going to fill out our census and work on a miRack upload. I've got enough to keep myself busy. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, May 16, 2021

We might have one more shift

tomorrow, hard to say. The last few days were the hardest. I'll do another project, not problem. Got to do something while under lock down. Hopefully we will have another project in the next few days. not sure yet.

We normally order from Horseshu pizza up the road from us but their in house home delivery is hit and miss. Instead (or 3rd time now?) we've ordered through Royal Pizza from Manning shopping centre not far away. We always order the extra sauce and our own personal small size pizza's. It did not dissapoint. The only thing is like Pizza 73, they don't have any dipping sauce.

Ever since ETS did their massive Bus network redesign, I haven't been on an ETS bus since when I went to get ny Covid shot mid April. We used to have 4 buses run by here. Now its just the #104 to Coilseum station. Kind of sucks but at least the #104 takes me to lodge whenever that opens up again. Hopefully in September. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, May 10, 2021

Last night about 10pm at Rogers Place Arena

Connor McDavid got 100pts in 56 games. Only 2 other players in NHL history did that: Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. What a time to be an Oilers fan. This pretty much earns him the Art Ross trophy.

Yesterday being mothers day, Anne and I just stayed home. My thoughts were of my own  mom that passed away December 2000. Anne went out to get us a Subway. I worked on my recent video upload and changed my logo.

Today I'm back at it for another 5 hours. Anything can happen but it looks like i've got enough of a project left to keep us going until Saturday. I hope its another 7.5 hour shift. I'll know in the later half of the week if I have another schedule for the week of the 17th. Anyway that's all for now.

Friday, May 7, 2021

Mothers day weekend

and yes, its slightly raining out there. We usually don't do anything special. What with Covid restrictions the Province has got all our favorite places to go out to eat in dining areas closed. But at least I got work tonight and tomorrow plus all of next week as well.

Looks like Connor McDavid is going to get the few points remaining for the Art Ross trophy. Next win secures home ice advantage when the playoffs begin.

I haven't been on an ETS bus since the bus network redesign. No need to go anywhere anyway. Just relaxing and chillin my beans so to speak. Anyway, thats all for now.

Friday, April 30, 2021

Its going to get busy

work wise, this week but in my line of work, you got to get the hours while you can.

Health wise, we're ok here in Sunny Clareview today. Anne is working, I'm working

Mothers day weekend. Love it. Love you mom. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, April 25, 2021

We're a tad on the cooler side of the

thermometer today, sitting at about +8 but feels like 6. Wind is NW at about 15. Nice day for walking except my legs are still getting used to these new compression stockings.

Its been 25 years or so that Edmonton Transit Service, (ets) did any kind of tweeking to its system. Until today. About 100 routes were eliminated. We used to have two Northgate buses that would drop us off right outside our building. Now they go to the West side of Clareview station. Not a big hardship but it is a pain in the butt. The #183 used to take us to Abbotsfield mall and I'd need to take a transfer to the #8 anyay to get to lodge. Our only bus that parks outside our place is the #104. The #104 stops running at 6pm on Sunday's. So much for lodge practice without a ride. I'm sure I'd get one though from some of the guys that live nearby. The #104 works great for me because it can take me right to lodge, and I get a ride back anyway. I wish I would have taken an interest in driving when I was growing up. The other thing about this new netork redesign is that local buses stop running just before 10pm weekdays.

Oilers hocky is back tomorrow night. I'll be able to watch that game and Wednesday's game. I'll miss the Oilers/Flames game Thusday as I'll be working Thursday, Friday, Saturday. I'll be able to watch Saturday's game after work. Other then that, we're all ok here. I'm hoping I have a full week of shifts for next week, as I want to save up enough to get the new 2021 iPad Pro 2Tb M1 iPad. I'm going to try and sell my new iPad pro locally, and include the magic keyboard as well. This device will be my last iPad (at my age) I'll be getting. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, April 20, 2021

It was a busy week last week

as an old friend passed away. The celebration of life was yesterday. Due to Provincial Covid restrictions on attendance for funerals I stayed away.

I ordered an ergonomic chair for my studio home office Friday night and a pair of headphones with detachable cables. The order should come in a couple of days from the Leduc fulfillment centre. What's special about this chair is that it is the first one I have had that is not 2nd hand and its weight distribution is greater then the standard 250 pounds.

Last nights Montreal/Oilers game was awesome. The Habs scored first in the 2nd period and then in the 3rd the Oilers tied. The pace for 60 minutes was fast and hard hitting. And if that's not enough Canada's own Patrick Marleau surpassed Gordie Howe's record of 1,767 games played set in 1980 during an April 19, 2021 game against the Vegas Golden knights.

Not only all the other good things above but George Floyd's murderer, was charged with murder and manslaughter. Justice! Plus Mar's rover did a test flight of ingenuity. Great week so far. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Monday, April 12, 2021

I'm not a watcher of the

Royals but I am aware of the passing of Prince Philip. The UK is going through 7 days of mourning for the Prince. on the positive side for the UK, they have almost reached Covid heard immunity. A lot of their economy is opening up now with 30 million citizens already vaccinated.

I'm up early at 8am tomorrow out of here by 9am. I need to get to London Drugs at Northtown to scan my tickets as I won $20 Saturday and I might have a free lotto 6/49 ticket. Then its off to Healthcare solutions across the street for my 10:30am appoinment for fittings for some compression stockings. Hopefully I can get them with no ordering. Then its  upstairs to the food court to see about ordering lunch for Anne and I to take home. My last Northgate bus that drops me off at my door. Its small but its the end of an era bus wise.

Still no announcement of work. I doubt there will be any for this month. I've had a few shifts earlier in the year but that's been about it. Two years in, recieving full pension came in at the right time. We'd be in deep trouble otherwise. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, April 8, 2021

Yesterday I was able to get the

Apple magic track keyboard cover for my iPad pro 11 inch iPad and I bought the 2nd gen iPenicl and a usb c to usb c cable. Very happy with my purchase from Northtown mall's London drugs. If Apple releases the M2, im going for it when that happens. Could be around September.

Also I was able to get to my Covid 19 vaccination appointment. They took me in early. I got the Pfizer shot. My 2nd and last dose will be 16 weeks from yesterday, July. If we get to 2/3rds herd immunity a lot of our phase 1 restritions that go into effect Friday will ease off. Also we might be able to return to a normal life at the end of May. Will this mean I can return to Lodge? That would be awesome.

The other thing I'm excited about is seeing the Mars helicopter "Ingenuity " launch. That's going to be interesting when that happens. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, April 3, 2021

There is a definite change in the

air quality this time of year. The rain in the air is quite noticeable. this time of year we could get anything. Today is expected to be a nice day. I might even go out for a walk.

Nasa's Perseverance rover helicopter "Ingenuity," might launch as early as April 8th. That would be so cool to witness. There is even a bit of the Wright brothers airplane attached to ingenuity as part of the historic flight.

There was supposed to be an Oilers/Canucks game this evening but 8 players and a staff member is on Covid protocol. That means the Oilers have 2 Montreal Canadians and 1 Canucks games to make up. So far Oilers have played 38/56 games. Barring anymore Covid protocols, means Oilers have 3 games in hand. Happy Easter eveyone. That's all for now.

Wednesday, March 31, 2021

The Ever Given ship was

finally dislodged and working its way out of the Suez canel. Bon voyage.

In other news the Oilers really blew it last night. 18 seconds in and Habs score. Oilers lost 4-0. That was the 13th game that McDavid was held without a point. We play Friday here at last entertaining the Calgary Flames and Saturday Vancouver.

Next Wednesday I'm in Northgate mall getting my first Covid 19 vaccine shot at 3pm. So far just taking it easy. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, March 28, 2021

7 days witthout Oilers hocky

and a week off and the Oilers lost in Overtime. Calgary won against the Jets, so that bought us some time & space. We play Toronto again Monday and Calgary plays Winnipeg again Monday. So, I'll be watching the Oilers Monday and following Calgary/Winnipeg's game.

The Ever Given in the Suez canal blocking shipping, is having an effect on the Clobal economy. More then 300 ships are in a holding pattern on both sides of the canel.

The other day I bought Reflector 4 and an Apple TV trial subscription for Airplay so I can have my iPad pro on my tv monitor and a webcam. I'm not sure how often I'm going to use it. There are other screen mirroring services out there. I don't know how long I'm going to pay $10 a month. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, March 24, 2021

I managed to get

a new upload for my channel. We got our 2020 noa in, plus our refund. Refund came within 2 weeks of filing. Love it.

Yesterday i bought Reflector 4, which lets me display with sound my iPad that has all my i0s apps. I liked this so much i subscribed to Apple tv just to use Reflector alone. Like Arcade, its an investment.

The idea was 3 Oilers/Montreal games this week. Monday, today and Friday. Until 2 Montreal Canadian players had to go in for Covid protocall's, which had those 3 games postponed to be played at some point in the future.

Also, I had Home Care here for 2 days last week to do an assesment on my legs for compression. So now my case worker is just waiting for authorization so I can pick up my custom made stockings from the vendor. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, March 18, 2021

I got my Covid-19 vaccination

appointment set up so that's good. Its going to be either the Moderna or Pfizer one, not sure.

Our pair of Canadian geese visitors are back. A little earlier then last year. Usually they are here around mid April. Its the warmer weather that is drawing them back so early.

Tonight, I'm catching the Winnipeg jets/Oilers game. Both teams are tied for 2nd place in the North Division at 38 points each. Its a back to back tilt for the Oilers at 7pm. Other then that, I'm keeping busy. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, March 15, 2021

Home care was supposed to call

me this morning between 8-8:30 to ask some Covid questions but since they do compressions Tuesdays perhaps I got the day wrong, but they just called saying that they will be here at 11:30. Daylight savings changes and all of that.

Before bed I was calling 811 Alberta health link to book my Covid 19 vaccine shot. I was told there was some confusion. They are going by per every day they are dropping a year beginning 1947. Today. Albertan's 75 and older are still getting their vaccines and those 40-64 are still able to book. My friend Frances (63) was able to book and has her appointment Wednesday, I think. By the time I'm able to book my appointment wont be until, Friday. I think.

There are a lot of things going on this week. Yesterday was daylight savings, Tuesday is my wife's birthday, Wednesday is Saint Patrick's day, Friday I book for my Covid vaccine, Saturday is the Spring Equinox, and in between all of that, starting tonight Oilers/Calgary and 3 other games beyond that. Plus I'm out every night for my walk around the block. In a way its a blessing I'm off work in between projects. Anyway that's all for now.

Wednesday, March 10, 2021

This week AHS has 40-64 year old age groups able to get the

Astra Zeneca Covid vaccine. Lots of people have signed up already and getting the shot. I might have heard this wrong but there is something like 400,000 Albertan's in that age group. My age group 65+ will be able to book next Monday. That doesn't mean I'll be getting the vaccine dose that day. it means I'll be getting it sometime soon. Alberta Health Services is recommending people of my age group and above take either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

In the 2nd intermission, its Oilers 6 Sens 0. Good score. We play these guys again Friday, then Vancouver Saturday. The Oilers are playing lose. I love it when they play like that.

I was supposed to have home care come in this morning (or so I thought) for compression stockings. I've got some swelling in both legs. More in my right then my left. I think in my right leg its water retention. Anyway, Anne and I are ok over here in Clareview. Just chillin. Well, back to the 3rd period. A nyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, March 4, 2021

Not a lot going on

around here. Just watching the Oilers going through a losing streak and enjoying my time off. The Oilers lost 6 points up for grabs against Toronto. The Oilers almost had 3 back to back shutouts, if it wasn't for RNH scoring the only goal last night.

I'm waiting for my pension T4 forms to come in. They appear to be late coming in this year.

If I get a tax return similar to last year's, and a bit of work over the next few months, I'm either saving up for an Apple m1 computer or upgrade this Windows one. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, February 26, 2021

On Monday I went out to

the West end for my Community Care assessment appointment. West Lawn school. I haven't been out to the West end in a long time. After my assessment they booked a case worker for me for home care. Home care is  going to do some leg compression, so I can get my Aids to Daily Living account renewed to get my compression stockings at discount prices. First phase is to ask the Covid pre screening questions. Then they come to my place and apply a special kind of stocking to get some initial leg swelling down before I can get the real stockings.

Finally I was able to get my Groove Agent 5 plugin, registered/activated/installed. I'm still learning how to use it. Also, I was able to get Cubase pro 11 to screen record with sound by using Reastream. I was doing it all wrong. So now its working with OBS Studio perfectly. One instance goes to the master bus (the E on the "channel strip") in Cubase, the other to OBS Studio. in Fl. Studio, Reastream goes into the Fx rack in the mixer. One scene in OBS, for any one daw at a time. Just switch daw's not scenes. I use 27.1.1 as the streaming address in Reastream. Works great. I now need to figure out how use Output Arcade in Cubase.

I thought 💭Holy moly, the Oilers won 4 straight games. Am I dreaming?💭 Then last night they won their 5th straight win. They haven't done that good on the road since 1987! Is their luck about to run out tomorrow when they meat Toronto? Can they go for 6 wins? Of the 4 games Oilers played these guys we won 2. Anything can happen so stay tuned. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, February 18, 2021

Finally its warming up out there as

it was -2 around noon. We got a nice weekend in the plus side of the temperature and next weekend -7 and under. Its pretty windy out there at the moment. If March can turn out to be like November, then great. Winter 2021 is done.

Last nights Winnipeg/Oilers contest was significant because Connor McDavid got his 500th point in less games then Crosby at 369 games. Plus the Oilers won that game 3-2 and move past Winnipeg in the standings but just by 1 point. Its going to be a real dog fight all season. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, February 15, 2021

Not much of an update

for today. Anne and I are enjoying our Valentines/family day weekend, even though she had to work Saturday and Sunday. Saturday normal day and Valentines day is mandatory. Heart shaped pizza and all. Today being family day weekend is just a normal day for me. Other then the Jets/Oilers game. Oilers can win 3 in a row but not 4. I'd be surprised if we get a W tonight.

On tap for me today as I'm trying to get Elgato screen link to record into OBS studio from my iPad pro, and I'm almost there with my Elgato game capture device I bought last year. I just need the multi port Apple adapter. Most of these you tube video's leave stuff out, so with each YT video, I'm discovering more things  missing from the process. Plus at 7pm, Winnipeg Jets/Edmonton Oilers. The highlights of my day. And Subway later this afternoon.

Yesterday my Amazon order came in about 3pm. I ordered a cheep usb coffee cup warmer. Barely works. No indicator light. Its from China, what should I expect? The USB hub works and powers up my iPad and connects my full sized USB keyboard alright. I'm going to get a proper Bluetooth keyboard/mouse set up with a dongle. The coffee cup warmer: 1/5. USB Hub 4/5. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, February 9, 2021

I'm enjoying my time off

but to be honest I'm missing the action as I'm sure so are my colleagues. That and I haven't been out of the apartment in over a month. I got too much to do to be board.

At the moment we're in the middle of the annual (it seems) artic vortex. Our local temperature is -29C with a -39 wind chill. We just got a few more days of this as we're supposed to warm up at the end of the month to low minus single digits.

Other then that, I'm watching lots of Oilers hockey. The boys were in Ottawa last night taking on the Sens. We barely won that 3-2. Koski took 42 shots. Up next Thursday Montreal. On that note, we're still hanging in there. I'm uploading another video for this weekend, doing a "tutorial." Look out for that one. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, February 6, 2021

We went and subscribed to

our isp's home security service, which gives my wife some peace of mind when we're out in case somebody breaches our suite. We  set the camera up in a hidden place. We can access the camera via our iPad as well, when we're out and about. This morning I was on the phone with our isp tech support, and we have everything working. I just need to have the app set up on my wife's iPad, so say whenever we get lodge going again and she's out shopping, she can check into our suite. The only problem with the camera that comes with the system is its frame rate. Its giving us an fps of something like 5. I'm sure we can do better then that with another camera from the same company.

Later tonight, its Oilers/Flames. This is going to be fun. I might not have steady work but at least I have Oilers hockey. On a cold winter night like right now at -29 with a wind chill of -35, there's no other place I'd like to be. Other then on a beach somewhere like in Southern Spain when its the NHL off season.

Finally, after days of sorting out how to get Cubase pro 11 to communicate system audio to OBS Studio, I got it working. I tried Reastream, all other kinds of screen recording  shenanigan's, Cubase just doesn't like Asio drivers. I had it working once before with Screen rec but that failed. My expectations for Asio link pro, were like smoldering embers. I followed a video by Mr. Different, and after a few tweaks at OBS, it works. My audio is a bit garbled but that's a tweak fix in OBS advance tab features. When I get my Mac mini M1, later this Spring, I'm going to use Cubase Pro 11 and Logic as my 2 daw's of choice and my windows computer for gaming. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, February 2, 2021

It took me awhile but I think I found

a solution to getting Cubase pro 11 to output sound to OBS Studio. Its a program called Reastream, that works on a local area network sending audio out to the other part in OBS through its receiving counterpart. I'm a few steps away from making it work.

Finally Sunday night the Oilers won one 8-5 against Ottawa. That's 2 back-to-back. Vancouver lost as well, which helps the Oilers win loss record. Oilers are hosting Ottawa again tonight at 8pm. I doubt the game will be similar to the last one.

This morning on Coast-to-Coast the topic is on Astrology and hauntings. Too scary for me 😀 I like shows last night on UFO, and the conspiracy/occult topics are fun.

Other then that, Not much else is going this week. I haven't been playing any Zelda Links awakening much over the last few weeks, just enjoying my time off. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, January 29, 2021

At least I have

screen rec working with Cubase pro 11. I get audio with my vst's and mic now. As long as the webcam isn't interfering in the process. One mystery out of the way.

Looks like we have well into the first week of next month with -14's and 12's, stuff. At least its not -20. Even then, that's not too bad. One good thing from all of this, is that its getting lighter later.

Not much going on for today. I'm staying inside as much as possible. The new cases of Covid are dropping. We're like +3% infection rate and something like 110 cases in the ICU. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, January 26, 2021

It wasn't exactly obvious

why I was unable to record from my mic into my Focusrite audio interface in Cubase pro 11. I tried everywhere there was a red recording button but one place: Transport. Mystery solved. Next up on my month shopping list is to get Groove Agent 5 drum plugin before my demo fades off into existence.

The Oilers won their first game on the road this season. Their only game on the road so far. Game time tonight 6pm. I'll be an Oilers 2021 believer if they can win 3 back to back games. The way they are playing is 1 step forward, two steps backwards.

I'm enjoying my time off, lots of You Tube and Facebook, social media in general. Sleeping in until 11am is routine. Other then the above, not much going on except I'm looking to get Apples USB C multiport adapter, so I can plugin my usb keyboard instead of that touch pad on my iPad pro. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, January 22, 2021

The Oilers are down by one but were tied in

the 2nd period. A sloppy play in the defensive zone, got the Leafs ahead of us by one. Leon D got the opener, so that's good news. We got the 3rd to tie it up.

This has been one of the first times in a long long time, I have not penned a diary entry. I've been so busy trying to get .dll files into my vst plugins/Steinberg into Cubase Pro 11. My main headache now being, that Cubase does not support 32 bit plugins and that's the bulk of Komplete. Native Instruments says that Kontakt Kontakt 6 (the feature program in Komplete) is 64 bit but not according to Cubase. The plot thickens.

Yesterday I managed 9,334 steps of the 10,000 daily step challenge. most ever. All inside here at home. No treadmill. So, its now 3-2 Leafs, Oilers are going to lose this one with 4 minutes left in the 3rd. Three wins in 6 games. Yeesh. Sunday they are in Winnipeg. We lose 3-2. The Oilers played sloppy. 6 Games 2 wins. Anyway, that's all for now.

What's the matter with the Oilers

they win one game in 3. So now we're in Toronto for a couple of games. It's early yet but this is crazy already. We need better goaltending then what we got.

The big story last night here is this wind, gusting near 40K. Its been uprooting trees, fences. I've seen worse. What's interesting is that, this is a wind coming out of the West.

I'm enjoying my time off but would be enjoying it more if the Oilers could win a couple of games FFS. So today is Inauguration day in the US. Cant say I'm sorry to see Trump go. Other then that, Anne bought some of this memory foam for our King size bed. Yesterday I got a pair of blue tooth headphones for my iPad. I'm about ready to upload a You Tube video over the next few days. Watching hockey, and Facebook. Anyway, that's all for now.

Still hanging in there

amidst the virus. The good new is the Oilers play tomorrow.😀now if they can keep healthy, they've got a good chance at making the playoffs.

I've got 3 days this week and that works ok for me. Gives me time to watch some hockey, hopefully on Bilasport. Anyway, that's all for now.

I was happy when I heard the news at the time of

shift login last night, I'm not scheduled in for today. I have 2 days off 😀. I'm ok with that and I have a full 5 shifts ahead of me next week, which works out great.

Earlier this last week, I had my dental for a filling and denture fitting. Wednesday I walked there and back at 9am to pick up my denture and make a payment and the denture fit really well. I walked home with the denture in my mouth and it felt good but I took it out when I started my shift for work and left it in some water for a few days and when I put the denture back in my mouth, it pinched and hurt like hell. I left in some water for another day and tried it again it still pinched but felt better the longer I kept it in. Without some adhesive eating with this denture might be difficult.  I have some here, so I will apply it later before I eat lunch.

Right now its -10/-15 but should warm up to  about -2. All week our local temperatures look like above zero on the thermometer/ Feels more like Spring then winter. Next week, I start a full work week. Five more days and the Oilers begin their 2020-21 season. I'll be following that, I get a small pay cheque as I work out the week. Other then that, I've got another idea for a small upload to my You Tube channel using Garageband on my iPad pro hopefully for next weekend. Other then that, Anne, Skippy and I are doing well despite missing our virtual lodge meeting for work We're all good over here. Anyway, that's all for now.

I walked up to Belmont dental yesterday

for my 3pm. I got a filling, and impression for my upper denture. There was enough left in the insurance for that at least. The impression was the rough part. At first I felt like I was going to gag. The denture is (at this time) at the lab to be picked up at 9:45am tomorrow. I should be out of there by 11am for the walk home.

In all my married life, I have never been obsessed with anybody. As for putting YOU in a bad spot, its not like YOU didn't have a choice. YOU could have called for your ride to pick YOU up. Yes I lied to keep my friendship and marriage at the same time. I was not trying to hurt anyone. I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. After the 3rd lunch "I never thought you would be interested in another woman." I wasn't. Talk about coming between a marriage. Real friends work out differences and challenges with each other. Real friends don't run away when the going gets tough. Real friends are in it for the long haul. So when things got rough YOU ran, leaving me with lose ends and more questions then answers. We've known each other for over 25 years and now YOU run away like a sniveling child. How "mature" of YOU.

Odds n' ends: What with all that walking yesterday there and back to the dental office, I did 9034/10000 step challenge. Which worked out to be just over 6.8K. That's been twice this year I reached that step milestone since I've been doing this, late 2019. In the Spring, I'm going to try and do that every day. Walk up to Belmont, get my morning coffee walk back. If I can do that every morning, that will never hurt me. I'm back at it tonight with work. My work schedule is tonight, Wed, Thur, Friday. Five hours each. I'll have my laptop open and set up for 4pm this afternoon. Anne and I are both working from home Thurs and Friday. Anyway, that's all for now.

😀My first post for 2021 and

I'm glad 2020 is behind me. Financially however, 2020 has been pretty decent. I got lots of hours. A nice tax return. I was able to get the Nintendo Switch and a m.2 ssd, plus my iPad pro. Also I had some dental work and a major scan for my CVI. One of the main changes has been working from home, both Anne and I. Plus I watched an NHL Stanley cup game here in Edmonton without the Oilers. To top it all off, I got Cubase pro 11 at a heck of a deal, and I uploaded my last video of the year Thursday.

Not much is happening tonight. Just you tube, Facebook, that sort of thing. Anyway, Happy 2021 everybody. That's all for now.
