Yesterday was a real scorcher

getting up to +28. Way too much for me. We're back to a more comfortable +14. So this week, it looks like our high temp will be ~ +17.

Sunday's Riders/Esks game was a real blow out. 12-35 for the home team. To be fair the Riders never put any of their starters on the field.  And they were in their home team jerseys at Commonwealth. We got on the board on the get go, scoring 14 points on 2 interceptions during the game. Its a pre season game so Mass has some decisions to make. The Next pre season game will be in Winnipeg, I think its this Thursday.

So the Feds went and bought the Trans mountain pipeline project. Its a good move at a cost of nearly $5B. It insures the project moves forward. Something needed to be addressed by the May 31st deadline. But because oil prices are beginning to decline, I believe we'll see $50 oil by August. Russia and OPEC might be upscaling production.

Anyway, I'm out of here early at 1pm as I'm heading out of here to buy a desk mounted mic stand before I head into the office for  another early 3-9 shift. Hopefully back to normal hours tomorrow. I even had to re book a Doctors appointment for this morning. Anyway, that's all for now.

Working out the week

and all has kept me busy. Add the couple of  heat +29 and +30 degree days in there makes it extremely warm. Even blogging becomes a chore in that kind of weather. At the moment we're sitting comfortable at +20. Me being diabetic and a senior I don't do heat very well.

This afternoon its the Eskimo's hosting the Saskatchewan Rough Riders. Or just the Riders as we call them here in the CFL Canadian Football league. The season begins today at Commonwealth stadium, 3pm. Eskimo Empire. Mike Reilly last years Most Outstanding Player (MOP) will be back in the Quarterback slot. Its a preseason game this afternoon. Its a Home game, should be a good one. Anne's going to make our Sunday breakfast, my only day off. Although yesterday was a short day.

Ok, this week, I'm in the office at 2pm, leaving out of here for 1pm. Or 2pm depending if the shipment arrives tomorrow. or early this week. They said Thursday by Tuesday. Its a device for "my studio." I'm calling before I leave tomorrow to see if its in. If so, "can I come in on my way to work and pick it up?"😄 If ok, fine. If not I got one more chance for Tuesday: Also, I have a Doctor's appointment  Tuesday to pick up 3 months supply of some sample medicine. If the store (mentioned above) has my product in, since I'm downtown at 1:30pm, I can pick it up and make a payment as well. I'll go in on my way to work anyway. Pick up both items then Tuesday. Wednesday-Friday are regular work days. My short term goal is to get a real computer with a i5 Hexacore processor. Not this cheque but my next one, I'll be able to order. It takes them three days to build and test. I'm hoping I can pick up on the weekend of June 15th. Then I can do some live streaming and OBS stuff. At least I got work for all of June. Work should (i hope) be slowing down by that time. Anyway, that's all for now, Lets go Esks!!!🏈

My internet has been slow as of late

and at no one with kids still in school for a few more days, should be on it to slow it down. Seems to be ok now though

I haven't been seeping very well over night lately. Its normal for us to be up until 3-4am, weekends even up to 5am. Having 5 hours sleep is normal for me. But the other day, Sunday night-Monday morning, my restless leg syndrome would kick in, I'd get maybe an hour sleep, then get up too pee, That was the cycle  until about 6am. I went to the couch to watch a TCM movie or something. That didn't work. Reading helps me to sleep, so maybe lack of reading over the last few days has been responsible for my recent sleep cycle, because it happened again last night but to a lesser degree. Now add the fact that we're going to be entering a heat wave this week of +28, +30. In May? We don't get weather like this until about July. This will even make it harder to sleep despite our fan and AC, yeesh.

Yesterday I watched a good hockey game between Tampa Bay (Tb)Lightning/Washington Capitals. I'm leaning towards the underdog team, which I feel are the Caps. It was a home game but if the Caps lost we'd be seeing a Vegas?Tb in the finale. Still might work out that way because Wednesday is a game 7 Home game. Good luck with that Washington. But you never know. What I'm excited over is the CFL as we have Winnipeg/Eskimo's pre season game on Sunday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne is going to stay up to watch

the Royal wedding. This could be the last Royal wedding, at least in my life time. I'm not really into this sort of thing. I hope the hole thing comes off without a hitch.

My favorite beer is the one Anne never gets me: Molson Canadian. Instead i get a Pilsener, sigh. Next time, I'm buying this  household's beer.

We're supposed to be in for some +27-+30* weather in there this week. We got a bit of rain Wednesday night. Its dry out here

so we could really use a nice downpour. Above image by Giphy.

Anne spent all day shopping for a bike. Does she know what she's getting her self into? She paid $240 for it but she needs the bike this time of year that will take her to get a connecting bus to Northgate or just Northgate in general.

I'm still working on that Beatmaker 3 track. It's only a minute long. Nothing fancy. I'm going to use my AT 2035 mic though for this. I'm looking at the OP-1 and the Presonus 8 usb mixer, and the Digitakt. That's 3 pieces of gear this year. I can put the mixer and Digitakt on an account. Anyway, that's all for now.

Got the word the other day that

where I work, we're taking Friday off. This way, I get 4 days off 👍. I'll be working more on my You Tube channel and getting a video upload before I get the new computer at the end of the month.

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley looks like she will see Bill-12, which will turn off the oil taps to BC. I'm not sure I like this. I can understand why she's doing it. The bigger elephant in the room is the Kinder Morgan's drop dead date if they don't hear any sign's of assurance from the Feds that phase 2 of this operation will continue. The drop dead date is at the end of this month. This only works towards the interests of the BC Government to halt the pipeline expansion. I can't speak for the Premier of BC but I doubt he is any staunch environmentalist himself, but his minority Government has some Green party MLA's which are pulling his strings. Even Christy Clark (BC's last Premier) was in favour of the pipeline expansion. The plot thickens.

It feels nice heading into work wearing just a T-shirt, genes, running shoes, with my back pack slung over my shoulder. I got 2 more days including today and then Thursday night will be like my Friday night. Anyway, tha's all for now.

Its been a pretty good weekend what with

Friday night out with an old friend at Red Robin. First time I ever  had to wait for a booth before. For some reason I thought the bar was a private room.

Yesterday I got up to go into work. It was a beautiful Saturday morning. I was kind of hoping we'd either finish the project or run out of numbers or the flow rate would kick us out. We ran out of numbers at 2m, so I was quite happy. I'm kind of looking for a full paycheque next time but, one never knows💭 I was able to get home by 3:3pm, participated in a Live stream with Accurate Beats for 2 hours Hockey game after that. Lets go Jets!

This week could be a short week as we're thinking the Friday before the long weekend we might have off. If there's no snag in the work flow, I'll have at least 30 hours. If the next project starts Monday. I've also got to call the boss to let him know I have an appointment for the "Aids to Daily living," General hospital 1:30pm. I could be late by about an hour. Between now and the end of the month, I'll have enough funds for my new computer. Anyway, that's all for now.

I've been heading into the office

all week for my 4-9. I got tonight and I'm off Friday. Hopefully all day Saturday. Otherwise not a lot going on around here, although Wednesday was a cooler +10. Cold for this time of year.👀

I've got a lot of running around to do Friday, go to PCN, get a haircut, have a bill paid, meat a friend for lunch. If I'm lucky I can even watch a bit of hockey.🙏

I've been trying to make a beat using Beatmaker 3 but the program can be a bit unstable on my new iPad. I'm hoping I can upload this on the weekend or the long weekend next weekend. I just signed up to the iPad musicians FB group. Anyway, that's all for now.

Today is the first nice day I think

we have had this Spring, what with being at +26 degrees. Wind is South at 10 kmh. Its times like this I wish I had a bike. I'm finding walking difficult but not impossible. I don't need a cane or a walker, yet. On a nice day like today, I'd like to be out on a bike for a couple of hours.

Last nights Jets/Preds game started out with no score in the first. Then everything opened up in the 2nd. Six goals scored! This is where the Oilers should have been in 2006. If the Saturday game was in Carolina and the return game here, I have no doubt the Oilers would have become Stanley Cup champions. Yeah, yeah, woulda, coulda, shoulda. Odds are pretty high if the Jets play tomorrow night like they did last night, they'll close out Nashville and go onto round 3.

This week, I'm in the office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday off and I have Saturday. During that time, I need to visit with Service Canada to set up my gis.  I'll try to do the Service Canada thing Tuesday. I'm sure its going to take more then one visit there. Tomorrow I need to set up a visit with my pcn, hopefully Friday morning, get some lunch, swing over to pay a bill by the Brick area, back to get some dinner at Red Robin with a friend. I have a busy week.

Saturday, May 5, 2018

Wow, its been a week since I

made a new post here. I've been busy what with work and hour changes etc. I've been watching very little hockey. I'm slowly working on a beat in Beat maker 3, hopefully ready for upload to my You Tube channel for later this weekend.

I have a unscheduled day off unfortunately. I put a request in to work this Saturday and the schedule was posted. The Supervisor wasn't in as Super had a day off. So, when I left last night to look on the schedule my name wasn't on the posted schedule. Ok, I thought maybe the shift was full to capacity. I had a co worker double check with me on the way out. I mean Super could have made a easy edit, and repost. I wasn't there Thursday night. Super wasn't there last night. When I got up this morning, I thought what if Super called me. Sure enough, that's what happened. Super called. Uh-oh. Super said it was an honest mistake but Super needed everyone there as this project is about the 75% done mark. I feel bad about this as I'm trying to save up for my computer. I need the hours. I'm sure if Super was there last night he would have mentioned my schedule for today, by handing me a postie note.

Looks like another beautiful weekend. I went and started book #2 of the Stormlight Archive series. When I caught up with my traveling companion at Corona station I told him, I'd be done reading this book around October. Anyway, that's all for now.
