630 Ched dropped Coast to Coast from its line up, its been a struggle to find other ways to listen to the show. I'm not adverse to spending a paltry sum to become a "Coast Insider," to get the show on my i0s device. My concern is having the show on for several hours and over time what that's going to do to my idevice. What's handy for me by becoming a Coast Insider is I can listen to the show, without recording it. Any show topic at anytime. And that's probably what I'll end up doing. I don't mind listening to Coast the night after the last nights show on You Tube but some topics don't do anything for me. For example, I couldn't care less about DB Cooper, or ghost story shows.
At this last NAMM 2018 show, Teenage Engineering released 2 new pocket operators: The 33 and 35. These are like samplers, which I find appealing. I have a couple of places in mind to order these at 2 retail stores on either end of the country. Usually these are priced out at about $120. At the moment I'd just like to order 1 of them. I mostly work on i0s devices anyway. Speaking of which I got the latest 11.2.5 update this morning. One thing I wish Apple would address is the lack of stereo on their screen recorder. Maybe they did on this update, I don't know. But I'm going to investigate ordering one of these pocket operators this month.
Anne is off to work on a rare Sunday because the Super bowl is one of their companies mandatory working days. That and New Years. So she ordered us 2 10 inch pizzas and I'll be tucking into that about 4:30pm in a few hours.
I was called in yesterday for tomorrow for my 4-9 shift. Now that the company is under new ownership, with a Edmonton head office, people are wondering if we're going to have more steady employment. Personally I like having the summer off. Our current project is about to wrap up so (I hope) I have a few days lay over until the next project. I've got a lot of stuff to do, like gathering my T4's,
a A1c lab report, ordering my Pocket operator (if it's in stock and depending on what my hours are this week), watching a few hockey games etc. So having a few days off in between projects for Jimmy is good. Even Anne is in favour of this. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Welcome to my Blog. My Sunday morning commute
yesterday will be my last for awhile. There were a few people in the line up ahead of me at Starbucks. So much for my coffee. I could have waited but to my surprise a #3 bus arrived. I could have picked up my coffee after all. Next Saturday (if I'm put back on the schedule) I'll get my coffee at Starbucks and my #3 into work. This way, I wont have to wait for an extra 15 minutes.
Coast has a couple of good show coming up Wed 11-04 Anomalous Star & Space News• Seth Shostak
Thu 11-05 Clandestine Operations & Secret Societies
My day yesterday was slow. I think we must have had a handful of people in the office. Some work just a few hours others work the full 7.5 like I thought I was on for. I always work 7.5 on a Saturday/Sunday. I even took my 12:45 break thinking my half was at 2pm and my other break was at 4pm. However I failed to look at the schedule properly Friday night only to learn I'm off at 4:30pm Sunday. Ok. Not the end of the world. I need to talk with the boss later today to find out why I'm not on Saturday's shift and could I be placed back on. Once knowing that, I'll be able to get some gear. I'm looking at the Korg Volca sample, the Korg Kaoss pad mini 2, and the Zoom handy audio recorder and possibly the Korg Monotron delay. I'll want to do this Wednesday.
On my way home, I caught the Eskimo fans leaving the game. Score was Al's 22 Esks 40. This means that pending what Calgary does next weekend we could be first in the West. Anyway that's all for now.

• Kris Millegan I like stuff like this. The biggest space news this last weekend was that skull like asteroid Halloween night: TB145. Very scary kids.

For the most part
the header above is looking good. I could have centered my name over a bit to the right, other wise I like the look of the header. The photo of me was taken December 2013 from our iPad pulling into Belvedere station.
On Coast tonight, the topic is past lives, which is an intriguing topic bordering on reincarnation. I'm not sure if I believe in past life regression or not but it is compelling stuff. I wrote a bunch of junk earlier on this post about it so I'm rephrasing this post. Sorry about that. According to Wikipedia:Scientific consensus is that the memories are the result of cryptomnesia, narratives created by the subconscious mind using imagination, forgotten information and suggestions from the therapist.
On a sad not actor James Garner passed away at the age of 83. I always liked him in "Maverick" and "The Rockford files." Garner was also a huge L.A. Raiders NFL supporter. He was also an avid golfer. I miss TV from the 60's and 70's. The TV landscape of today is littered with reality based TV shows like Survivor, and stuff like Amazing Race, and America's got talent. The only good thing about CSI was their theme song. Now if there was ever a new Star Trek TV show, I'd be tuning in. We used to watch Doctor Who but we never know when it's on. That's why other then news and sports, I don't watch TV anymore. The other thing I don't like about TV are the many car commercials. With the millions of vehicle recalls I wouldn't buy a car today. It's sad to see great actors like Garner leaving us but he looked like he had a good long life. Mr. Garner died of natural causes yesterday. R.I.P. James.
About MA flight 17 as tragic enough as it was this is my statement on the tragedy: Somebody needs to be held accountable. I wont name any names but that's my 2 cents I'll Put in. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Dilemma's are interesting and mine is
challenging to say the least. My current situation with my market research job is project based, what my availability is and my flow rate determines if I get any hours. Also, the tap on my current job in the summer (as far as work goes) trickles out like a leaky faucet. We're expecting another project but that's up to the whim of the client when we start. It's up to the whim of my survey house manager to determine how many hours I get. So here's the dilemma part, I got a more or less permanent job today way out in the West end. It's only 26 hour/week but the bonus structure is good. People have been there for as little as 1 month to 4 years, 8 to thirteen etc. It's from 3-9. I get Sunday's and Mondays off. Sometime this afternoon I could get a email from my market research job saying for me to come in Saturday onward for 6 days. That conflicts with my other job that starts Wednesday. I'm not sure what to do here. Hence my dilemma. If a schedule doesn't come in today, then great. If one does I'm going to say something like a situation has come up I'll be in on Monday. Monday night I'll explain face-to-face with my manager and ask if I can work just Sunday's as others have done 1 day a week. If that's ok, then great, there is no conflict. If not, I'm just going to ask for a couple of months off, return in September. My market research job will dry up in the summer anyway but if I work out at the new place, then all the better. I want to keep the doors open too my market research job, if the new one works out. I'm just three years away from my full pension and the market research job would fit in just perfectly with that. "What? I'm off for 2 weeks, wu-who," type thing. Ok that dilemma is more or less ironed out.
While Anne and I were out this afternoon after our successful interview, we had just missed our #137 bus. I always bring my camera along. We waited in the hot Sun at 108th Ave and 178th street waiting for our 137th home so Anne snapped this photo of me sitting on the grass on the corner there with the Evergreen tree behind me:
People are already saying good things about the picture above. So our bus came along and it packed up in a hurry. I sat facing East to get a good glimpse of where the new West end Long & McQuade (LM) store is. We got held up by train traffic in a bus that was standing room only. I caught a glimpse of the LM logo and now I know where it is just off of Saint Albert Trail and 137th Ave. Anne had a great idea: Lets go into Wendy's at Northgate for dinner. I hadn't been at that location before.
Coast to Coast has another great show underway. Tonight they are talking about water locked up in rocks 400 miles under the earth, strange droning sounds in Michigan, and "Kewper Anonymous," the US Army cryptographer who worked for the CIA in 1957-1960 and was briefed about UFOs. Sounds like a great show. Thursday's usually have great shows.
We decided to get the #11 bus at Northgate home and got in about 7:30pm. It was a long afternoon.
I bought my first CFL Proline ticket earlier at Clareview, 4 games all ties on a $2 ticket. If I played this out correctly it would have paid to win $554! First game underway, was Argo's/ Bomber's. First Quarter it was Winnipeg 28 Argo's..0? Whaaaaaat? The game ended up Argo's 24- Bombers 45. Note to self, next week Home teams to win. Anyway, today I'm sleeping in. Anyway, that's all for now.

We're in for a cold spell for a couple of days but the way the media talks about it
OMG, we're all going to die!
On Coast tonight: Future of the Mind/ UFOs. First Half: Dr. Michio Kaku will discuss the astonishing scientific research being done in top laboratories, all based on the latest advancements in neuroscience and physics. Kaku will detail how one day we might have a "smart pill" that can enhance our cognition, be able to upload our brain to a computer, and perhaps even send our consciousness across the universe. Old science fiction concepts but quite plausible the way technology is going.
Mayor Iveson will be heading for Ottawa soon. Mainly to meet with the powers that be that dispenses funds and try to get more funding for our LRT SE valley line. We need another $500M. If BC can get $2B for a useless "Evergreen" line that connects Port Coquitlam to their Sky train system, we should be able to get more funding for the fastest growing city in Canada. I believe he's going to make it happen.
Probably Thursday afternoon I'm out of here to AW. I still want to keep my main job. I just want something to do during the afternoons. Preferably something along the LRT. If I can get a full time job that pays better, no problem. I wouldn't even mind a small stock room job as long as I can sit down once in awhile.
We got the dishwasher out of here. The 2nd guy got it out of here about 8pm and charged us $80. I felt bad for Anne because this was something her mother got for her 16 years ago They still have to give us a 48 hour notice, they are going to check our suite to see that we complied but if they are going to physically push my wife around I'll come in with the iPad and (if it happens, which I don't think it will) tape it. If anyone physically harms my wife, they'll answer to me. Anyway, that's all for now.

Cleats were not necessary on my way into work yesterday
afternoon, even though I wore them. There were a few icy patches here and there but nothing major. Nothing I couldn't handle.
The 1st part of my day was slow going. I wanted to have my half hour about 6:30pm to make the rest of the shift go by faster but we had some down time. The 2nd half went by a bit better then the first for my first time doing a new project. On my 10 i went to Subway to get some air and a package of dark chocolate chip cookies and a diet cola for my commute home. While waiting for the train at Corona I had a cookie and it went down the wrong way burning my throat. I had a weird reaction I couldn't get rid of no matter how much cola. I was hacking and coughing all the way home. Anne gave my some ice creme which helped a bit. I can still feel it 4 hours later.
I got my email during breaks in the show and my JW wont be able to make it, so I somehow got to make arrangements to get the bar and or maybe just get a case of beer and work the bar from there. I've also got to find someone to take his place and the SD's place, so I've got to make some phone calls this morning when I get up. Yeesh, there's always something.
Coast right now they're talking about giants that roamed North America some 400 years ago. Then if that's not enough they're going to talk about auras and parallel dimensions. Should be a good show.
Anne made her perogies and I watched a pretty decent 3 hour Monday night Raw which ended half an hour ago. Anyway, that's all for now.

What the iPad 5 is coming out later this
month? Yeesh. My iPad 3 is barely 18 months old and there is no way I'm going to break down and buy the latest and greatest. If apple decides to bail on their previous gen iPad's and stop their os upgrades at the iPad 5, Apple loses my credibility. They did this with my iTouch 4.2.1 3rd gen and I can't upgrade the software beyond what I have. As long as we can access iTunes and do face time and I can access the net that's all I need. That doesn't mean I'm going to go onto Android. I'm about to wash my hands with the whole mobile tabs phones everything. All I need is my home internet especially after my iPad was hacked. Our Big 3 service providers wont put a usage cap freeze if the account goes over it's limit. Please Verizon come into Canada we need competition. The real value for me for a tablet is reading eBooks and I can get a Kobo for about $150 and Kobo supports ePub.
On Coast this evening they have a great poll: "How would you prefer to be paid "Cheque or Direct bank deposit?" That's the way I'd like to go. DBD all the way. Most respondents felt the same way.
I had a pretty good day today even though the file I had looked like there was about an hours worth of work in it. I thought, great, maybe I can ride the train for awhile and have a nap before the next shift starts. Sure enough the boss comes back with another large file. Rats. That's good though because that and what I had this evening gave me a full day. By 7:40pm I was played out but I had a break ahead of me and I went to Subway and got a coffee. They had the "Tour Alberta" bike race and part of the route went by our building. After work I was relieved to catch my train home and a bunch of "tour" fans boarded my train at Churchill station. Its all good.
Spider man does it again! Thanks to Coast for this. A 69 year old man was concerned about the cost of his daughters wedding. He remembered a old box of comic books he had stored away. Inside there it was The Amazing Spider-man no.1! He paid 12 cents for it in 1963. He sold it for $7,000.The story gets even more interesting but you can read about it here.
I got 5 hours tomorrow and some banking to do, going in with my wife. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Its been a hot one this afternoon
evening.
The topic on for Coast overnight is survival. Not one of my favorite topics but I like to catch any of the "other" news they have on just at the beginning of the first hour but Wells unlike Noory doesn't cover a lot of this sort of thing.
The BC/Al's game Friday night, I never thought it would be a tie game because the Al's were so hungry for a win at home and they got it 38-39 for a Proline tie. Then last night Stamps/Argo's. It would have been an Argo's win except Ricky Ray got injured and had to be put on the sidelines. That was the momentum shift Calgary needed. This game was hyped as a Grey Cup rematch from last year. Calgary won 35-14. I forgot about the significance of the game. Then the double header today. Winnipeg/Hamilton. 14-37 for the home team. I called that one right. Then the Riders/Esks game and the Esks held the lead twice on the 1 yard line Esks football to take us into the lead late in the fourth quarter. The coach took our young quarterback Mike Riley out of play thinking back up Qb had this. Then after the ball is snapped the ball is fumbled then recovered. They should have gone for a field goal to tie the game at 30. Instead of going for the field goal they take the replacement Qb out insert Mike Riley and he spots his man in the end zone, the ball is tossed and it's picked off! Riders have possession and wind the clock down. Another Proline tie! Riders 30-27. Up next is the labor day classic and we got Friday Hamilton/BC. Sunday Winnipeg is at Saskatchewan, Monday its Edmonton/Calgary. Tuesday Montreal/Toronto. I'll be working up until 7pm so I'll miss that game. The labor day classic is the unofficial mid way part of the season.
This summer was so short and NHL training camp for the Edmonton Oilers is right around the corner. September 14th.
That's enough of sports.
I'm not a great fan of the Batman franchise. I liked the first 4 movies. I didn't see the Christopher Nolan series yet. So now Ben Affleck has been selected as the new Batman in the 2015 Batman/Superman movie. There's a lot of buzz about this, to which I say...meh. My response to the hoopla of Ben Affleck.
Seems that Obama is going to make a decision about Syria and about their use of chemical weapons on their own people. Obama wont do anything because Syria has Russia in they hip pocket. Syria can basically do what ever it wants. if Russia backed Iraq to the extent it does Syria then the war in Iraq never would have happened. Just my opinion
Fan expo in Toronto's last day is tomorrow and it looked like a good one. We get our own fan expo here in Edmonton September 28-29. It's not as big as the one we had last year. This year, Garrett Wang of Star Trek Voyager will be there. Christopher Lloyd. and a bunch of others I'm not familiar with. It's a stripped down version of last years event but for $20 bucks it's not a bad deal but there's nothing special for yours truly. I probably wont be going.
I took a sleeping pill before bed early this morning and other then waking up to pee the odd time, the pill really zonked me out. I remember up about 8:30am to use the bathroom and I passed out right after that and woke up at about 12:40pm. I like to wake up about 10am on a Saturday. Anyway that's all for now.

Ever since YouTube went and upgraded
itself to "YouTube One Channel" I've been having trouble uploading my videos from my YouTube channel to Blogger. I'll figure it out over the weekend when I have more time.
Tonight on Coast the topic is on Consciousness & Dimensions. This sounds like a pretty good show.
So the UN wants to lft the arms embargo to the Syrian rebels. This imo is a bad idea because it means more bloodshed in that civil war. Already Russia has sent missiles to Syria capable of striking Israel. These missiles have fallen in the hands of the terrorist organization of Hezbollah. If they are used to attack Israel, Israel will destroy them and then what?
My City of Edmonton, has developed a new type of material that will within ten years make potholes a thing of the past. It's a special kind of asphalt/rock binding agent. COE actually has a lab made for this purpose. It could actually work.
Not much going on for the week. I've got a big meeting Sunday, that I can't get into talking about now but I'm looking forward to it and at the same time, I have a little anxiety is creeping in about it. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Saturday was my day to relax and take
it easy. The highlight of my day was the Oiler's winning in OT. I also used Paypal and bought a VST plugin from Waves factory but I don't know where it's located in my Kontakt player. I have all day today to find it.
It's confirmed,Google Glass will be here this year but at a price of $1,500! Google made over $10 Billion in 2012, you'd think they could lower the price to something like $600. Apple is most likely working on their own version. I can't use this product because I have about 70% vision loss in my right eye. When Google cranks up the production of Glass I hope they have an upgrade to change lenses from right to left. That'd work and drop the price to about $500. This product has the potential to destroy the cell phone and tablet before it's third competitor enters the market. This is the next big thing.
A couple of days ago I came across this link to a Star Wars Lego X-Wing fighter. The kit has something like 1,558 bricks. It's got amazing detail. I kind of like the Lego Star Wars genre. I might even get a gaming console just to play this genre. Oh the cost to this kit is $200! Too rich for me.
Tonight on Coast, the topic is on Scientology. To bad we can't upload it to another form of media like iTunes. Speaking of which this afternoon I'm heading across the street to Future shop to pick Anne up an iTunes card and me that USB hub. Speaking about iTunes, I just went and bought my first song from the iTunes store: Weird tales from the Ramones: "Time bomb" by the Ramones. It was priced at .99.Most songs as of this writing are $1.29.
I think maybe Wednesday night depending how I feel I might head over to the Army & Navy in Londonderry Mall, as even though we're about to head into Spring in a few short weeks, I don't have toques for what's left of this winter. Besides I can get out have a bite to eat and a beer, the bus that picks me up outside the mall drops me right off by our place.
Good news bad news: Bad news I didn't win the $16M in last nights 6/49. Good news, nobody else did either. It means that Wednesday's draw goes to $21M.
Not much going on this week. I've got Monday night Raw and the Oiler game the same night. I like Raw because their long commercials are a great chance for me to catch the Oiler action but there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff as well WWE fans can catch on one's tablet or smart phone. Other then TV Monday, Shopping Wednesday, and On Thursday the Oiler's are in Dallas. All games on Sports net. Good stuff. Anyway, that's about all for now.

I cashed my
"big" 6/49 jackpot of...$5! First win for the year and because nobody won the big prize it goes up to $11M. Of course I reinvested in another quick pick.
I can relate to this story. English king Richard III mainly like Richard, I too have scoliosis but probably not as advanced as his. But today researchers have confirmed that it was Canadian DNA that matched the DNA of King Richard. The bones had been subjected to “rigorous academic study” and had been carbon dated to a period from 1455-1540. Richard was 32 when he died over 500 years ago. Read more here.
Tonight on Coast the topic is on Aliens & Synchronicities. I like stuff like this. I'll be heading to bed early anyway. Other then that, not much is going on. Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday afternoon from about
2pm till around 5:20pm, the gang I used to work with met at BP's for a few hours. There was about 10 of us. We had a good time and we will be doing this about every other month or so. After work I thought about going over to Audrey's for the finale book of the "Last of the Jedi" series but I was hungry and I wanted to try Tim's tomato soup and their new grill cheese sandwich. The soup wasn't that great and the sandwich even though the bread was grilled it looked like they just smeared cheese whiz between 2 slices of grilled toast. For that they charged me $7 for that and the bottle of diet Cola. That's one product I hope they remove. I would have got better value at Subway. After I ate and a wait for my Clareview train I was home about 6:35pm. Besides Tim's breakfast sausage-egg sandwich/hash browns and donuts/coffee, the only thing worthwhile about them is they have wifi.
I'm about ready to wrap up Stardoc #3 and then put this series to rest for awhile. I still need the last 3 books in this series but for now I need to go on and read some Warhammer 40K "Space Wolves" second Omnibus.
I read for awhile had a chat with Anne and watched the Oiler's/Flames game. I should have had them on my Proline today because I knew Calgary would win. They hadn't had a win this year, it was the over hyped "Battle of Alberta," the media likes to tout, the Flames were in their retro jerseys. They had all the ingredients. The team that played in the Saddle-dome last night was not the same team that beat LA 2-1 in OT the other day. Calgary was the better team and they needed this win, badly. The copper & blue came out of the gate looking bland but the Flames won by only 1 goal, 4-3
Tonight on Coast, the topic is on Vaccines & Geopolitics. Not exactly a topic I find interesting. Sunday night though the topic is UFOs: Secrets & Leaks! Should be a good one. Most likely I'll update this blog through out the day. Anyway, that's about all for now. .

Other then a bit of
running around later this morning, my weekend is more or less open.
It's so cold out there right now, we've got ice crystals in the air or ice fog. Ice fog during winter isn't that unusual in the evening or overnight. I've seen it during the day a few times during my 35 years here but not many
Coast has another lame topic this evening: Human development. They're also talking about current events and constitutional rights. Some boring shows on this week. Coast has only one good show next week: UFOs & Covert Programs.
I was reading this fascinating article in i09 about the fate of the Vikings in Greenland. I recall when I was with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) here in Edmonton we had a few members in our Shire of Borealis that had Viking persona's. Ok getting back to the topic. The question is, what prompted the Vikings after 500 years in Greenland to finally move back to their mother country? Some speculate that it was disease or at the time of the 10th Century thee Vikings were mostly farmers as weather conditions back then were different then in recent years. So what made the Vikings leave Greenland? Was it disease? Trade? Or something else? Here's a link to the rest of the story.
Not much going on at the moment, just reading watching a bit TV and some music production that sort of thing. It's going to be a lame weekend but I do have a few things going on. Anyway, that's about all for now.

For most of last night
I’ve been having a hell of a time trying to get Anne an email and then it dawned on me that since I already had Gmail and Yahoo mail accounts on my desktop, I was without a yahoo email account on my laptop. I got that set up for Anne but I’m having a hell of a time with Apple ID but I’m closing in on it. I’ll get her up and running shortly.
Just as an after thought actor Jack Klugman died Christmas Eve from throat cancer. Klugman played Oscar Madison next to Tony Randal as Felix in the Odd couple. I remember seeing the Broadway production of the first episode as it was on tour and I saw them on stage. That would have been 1976, a few months after that I migrated to Calgary to find work. But the show didn't feature Klugman as Oscar, I believe that was with Walter Matthau. Walter Matthau died 12 years ago. The Odd Couple, Mash, All in the family, we don't have shows like that today. With all of this politically correct bs a show like All in the family would never get by the sensors. I don't think I never heard Archie used the N word for (Jefferson). The Odd Couple never went that direction but Hollywood and they're politically correct obsession would probably (if the show were produced today) have made one of the roommates Asian or something. My only beef when it comes to Hollywood casting like this is the show was conceived as it was, if Hollywood made a remake of The odd Couple by tinkering with it to appease this political correct climate nobody cares about, would ruin the show. That's one thing I didn't like when Marvel changed the character of Nick Fury agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Hate to break the news to you kids, but Nick Fury originally in the Marvel comics was "Sargent Fury and his Howling Commandos." Look it up. Nick Fury was a white man not a black man. When David Hasselhoff played Nick Fury (1998) last time I checked I don't think Mr. Hasselhoff went from white to black in a decade. No disrespect to Samuel L. Jackson. He played an excellent version of Nick Fury and I think he did a great job in that role but casting of the movie Iron Man in 2008 was an obvious move to appease the politically correct climate plaguing us to this day. I'm happy when I was watching sitcoms back in the 1970's we didn't have this politically correct bs. Partially why these days I don't watch that much TV. How about this pc scenario: James Bond after Daniel Craig will be a Jamaican Bond with a British accent. I'm just sayin.
Coast 2 Coast this morning is about Christmas movies but the next half of the show is about the Urantia. I did a brief study about this curiosity some 20 years ago. With about 2000 pages and going through a bit of it myself, kind of went over my head. At least Ched is back to normal. Tonight the show on Coast is about “Planet X.”
We just came off of watching the latest Doctor Who Christmas special “The Snowmen.” This was a great special. I liked this one better then last years and I hope they keep the supporting cast. On a scale from 1-10, I’d rate this a 9.
Earlier before I got into getting Anne an Apple ID I set myself up a Sound cloud account. I even set up a mobile app for it but it doesn’t look like the app is that well received.
Today being Boxing day is going to be a madhouse out there. If I had any Boxing day funds I’d wait until Friday for the end of Boxing day week.
As for me, I’m relaxing over the next couple of days as I don’t think I’ll be heading out anywhere until Saturday. Anyway, that’s all for now.
