This should be a universal truth

that 2020 was disastrous. On that note, this my last post for 2020. The year had a lot of firsts, some good and bad. I never thought I'd be working part time from home, with my wife. I did some open heart surgery on my computer installing my first ever m.2 ssd hard drive. That was a great experience. The Stanley Cup finale between Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas for the Stanley Cup, held in Edmonton with no fans due to the pandemic. ETS had free bus service for a couple of months. My Nintendo Switch works great playing Zelda. The great planetary alignment.

I don't know what I'm doing for New Years eve tonight, probably playing Zelda working on getting that buffer rate down on my new Cubase Pro 11 and playing with Cloud Supply the new vst I bought for Kontakt yesterday. I'm ordering us pizza for tonight and maybe a glass of wine to ring in the new year. Hopefully within the next few months we can get that Covid vaccine. Thank God 2020 is over with, At least NHL hockey resumes January 13th with an all Canadian Division. Anyway, that's all for now. Happy new Year everybody.

Because I am a previous owner of

Cubase 6.5 before bed this morning, I was able to get Cubase pro 11, not got the current price of $800 but for cad $240. Deal expired at the end of the month. Why such a low price? Because I haven't upgrade my original version and ad holiday pricing, I got the deal. Without holiday pricing, the upgrade would have cost me about $550. I bought Cubase because I couldn't get my Reason 10 dvd to install. I gave up on Reason. Cubase was so easy to install. I just had to upgrade my iLock elicense and follow the easy prompts.

I've learned a lot this year from having Facebook friends and family block me and unfriend me. I've learned never to lose respect for anyone. Especially close friends. They may have lost respect for me for one reason or another but I'll never lose respect for anyone of my friends. If they lost respect for me, were we real friends? I'd like to think so.  Not everyone has to like me or be my friend. One of "my friends" recently lost respect for me. Mostly because I called him out on a truth that held him in chains of denial. Now he's running away by unfriending me on Facebook. Talk about cowardly. Yet I still like and respect him, even when he broke trust with me several times. Then there's family blocking me because they choose politics over family. Sad.

Tomorrow begins the last week of the year. Thanks to God, I prospered ok but only because I'm on full pension and my part time job working from home. Now if Anne and I can survive the next months ahead until we get the Covid-19 vaccination, we will have at least the tools to survive. Best practices moving forward. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its Christmas eve

and I hope everyone has a merry Christmas. That was sure nice to receive that $1000 deposited into my account Tuesday. Talk about unexpected cash coming from no where.

Finally, Health Canada approves the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine. Now we have 2 Covid vaccines to work with as new strains of the virus seem to be popping up all over the place.

I uploaded another video earlier this week and I hope to be have another one up this weekend to Shannon on Sounds.

Also announced earlier this week, the NHL has approved the NHL will resume with a 56 game season starting January 13 2021. The Oilers will be playing Vancouver in an all Canadian division. This is going to be great. Plus the CFL will be playing about the same time end of June. Hopefully I'll be able to watch some of it. Anyway once again, Merry Christmas everyone.

I uploaded another video to my

You Tube channel the other day. I'm currently working on my first UK style drill beat. Its really amature in nature. Nothing pro about this.  I hope to have this uploaded by Friday.

The NHL has announced a working agreement for a 56 game season starting January 3rd. No training camp or exhibition games. There will be four divisions. Having an all Canadian division is uncertain but it seems to make sense due to the closure of the border. What with the world juniors underway here in Edmonton soon, I don't think we will have any games at Rogers place arena until the "juniors" are completed.

It looks like we're weeks away before we're going to get a 2nd Covid vaccine. Is health Canada going to wait to see what side affects are going to happen due to the Moderna vaccine in the US first? At the risk of risking Canadian lives in the balance? That doesn't sound right to me. Lets see what happens here before now and the end of the year. Anyway, that's all for now.

There's not much going on

this week. We got a nice weather wise day happening today then a bit of a cool down for a day and milder weather. The forecast for next week has Christmas day at +2

We got the initial Covid vaccine doses from Pfizer Tuesday. More doses by the end of the week. Here in Alberta we're prioritizing frontline health care workers, seniors in long term care centres and hopefully the rest of us in the summer.

I'm using my iPad pro camera for my video introduction intro. The Lav mic I bought about 3 years ago is gong head to head quality wise with my AT 2035 condenser mic. I'm stepping  up my intro game here a bit I should have this video up to my You Tube channel within the next couple of days.

Also, I'm maintaining my step count. Saturday, almost 7k in steps. Not to bad. Anyway, that's all for now.

Our local weather forecast

this weekend is going to be on the cooler side  of the thermometer but not arctic like conditions. One day of -17 ish. Next week is mid single digits. Its been quite the year weather wise for sure.

I changed my Apple ID on my iPad pro, back to match our 2017 iPad. This way I can Air drop my apps over onto the new device. I retired the old iPad into Anne's hands. I'm happy I bought the new one. I'm still learning the ropes and all of its features.

Wayne Gretzky's 1979 rookie card went up for auction and fetched a price of $1.29 million! The card is graded a Gem Mint 10 by PSA and there’s only two of its kind in the world. Nice chunk of change. Anyway, that's all for now

If all goes well we could have

NHL hockey returning to play mid January, with some fans in the building. I hope I can skirt passed this virus too watch it. Some players are being recalled to their host cities. Right now the world Juniors (hockey) is getting organized in Red deer for Edmonton. Well see how that goes.

Monday night I picked up what might have been the only iPad 11" pro in this city. Not even the Apple store had them in stock. Our local within walking distance, Staples even reserved it for me as Anne went to pay for it with my bank card. I'm still learning some of its basic features. This is an investment in my music creation hobby. I got the 128Gb version. The passcode is 6 characters long!

Our Prime minister said the other day that the first shipment of the Corona virus vaccine from Pfizer, could be here by next week and distributed before the end of this month. In Alberta we're expected to get about 4,500 doses. Mostly given to the elderly in care centres and frontline health care workers. Makes perfect sense. If Health Canada gives approval of course. In the meantime our premier just announced province wide mandatory mask wearing and lock down measures for a month. I agree with this. Anyway, that's all for now.

I got so distracted

during my last post I forgot to finish my post title. Yeesh.

Our project finished Wednesday night. I'm officially off work until January. By that time, I'll be ready to go hard at it. Also by that time I will be extremely board enough to really want to go back.

Not sure if I heard this correctly but Health Canada is about to make a decision to approve the vaccine's the Feds have made purchasing agreements with. I heard within 9-11 days. If the vaccines get approved the first phase of distribution could begin early January. Not sure how much of the above is correct.

At the moment, I need more software then hardware. I need Halftime, Omnisphere, and others. I also need that 2Tb Samsung drive as well. Anyway, that's all for now.

My original Facebook page

began 2007 but because of some people, I decided to deactivate it. I kept messenger open but I got a new Facebook page. It was very easy to do. I don't know why my friend Frances is having so much trouble I helped her out for about 2 hours and she's just waiting for them to send me the conformation code. Maybe I should give her my email to send it to me, see if that works.

Add caption

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the camera or the iPad pro. I need a camera. Its not that the Zoom q2n is a bad camera but it runs on batteries and its zoom feature isn't that great. The Sony Zv-1 so far has the best recording time of any camera at 74 minutes. My budget for the camera is about $1200-1500. The thing that bugs me about the Sony is the the small iso. Its going to be no different then the last Sony camera I tried buying last year.

Deactivating my Facebook account was the highlight of my day. That and 5 hours on the job. I have another Facebook page I created but not under my name. Its basically for my Facebook groups and a few friends. I left my original Facebook page with 76 friends.  I have no friends on this Fb page. Anyway, that's all for now.

If I did this correctly

I went and deactivated my Facebook account this morning. My reasoning for this are several. First, all the political crap, and then there's all the Corona Virus BS and, then some people I thought were friends still are in denial what they did to me. I don't need the aggravation. I'm tried of all the blocking, unfriending of week minded shallow people. This excludes some real friends, and Lodge people. Messenger is still open and I can go back to Facebook at any time and reactivate it.

So it looks like Friday is the last day on the job for me for the year. I'm hoping I get a month off. All I want to do is to make music, play video games on my Nintendo Switch, read and keep up with my steps. Also, I'll be spending more time blogging here. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, November 27, 2020

Its been awhile since

I published 2 Blogger posts back to back. What's the occasion for this event Jim? Nothing really. I have work tonight and all day tomorrow, and all next week. looks Like next Friday is the last of it for the year.

At least the weather has been nice. Last Sunday would have been Grey cup weekend in the Canadian Football League (CFL) but Covid changed all of that. Not sure if there is going to be any Vaccine for Covid out next year but the CFL would like to play sometime in June. Wouldn't that be nice? Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, November 26, 2020

Still just

working out the work week. I doubt this project will last beyond Friday, which is ok for me. I could use a break. At the same time, I hope this project goes to at least next Friday, max.

Earlier this week Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson said he will not be running for a third term. Is he planning a push for the next Alberta Provincial election 2023? I'd vote for him as long as he is not on a Socialist ticket.

Once again the idea of betting on a single game is being presented as a private members bill. I think its a good idea but these types of bills ever pass Royal ascent. They have this concept in the US for some time now. Would be nice to see this bill get some traction. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, November 22, 2020

Because of work lately

and other challenges, I'm lucky I can blog once a week. Yesterday was a full day on the job. At least I don't need to go on that long commute, being exposed to the elements.

The Canadian Football League CFL wants to start again and has released a possible schedule for 2021. There are still details to work out but a schedule might have limited fans in the stands. That'd be great if hockey starts in January to June and in June to this time next year CFL starts.

Tomorrow morning Anne has something to do with her job, and I'm working 4-9 all week and a bit of Saturday. Then that's it (as far as I know) until January etc. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, November 16, 2020

Here I am and its

Monday morning. That was a fast weekend. Hopefully things will slow down after the middle of next month. Anne wants me to slow down in January to 3 days/week in the new year anyway.

I'm currently playing around with Ethereal Earth. Its part of Kontakt's play series. I made a video using Streamrec. Right now I'm just working on the intro and the thumbnail. I'll have that done up today and the upload posted to my channel by the end of the week.

Speaking of which I have a full week ahead of me 4-9. Not that I go out much because of the Pandemic, but at least I have work, for now. I'm hopefully going to have enough for my computer upgrade for over the holidays, I'm looking at getting a LGA 1200 MSI BT motherboard, 128 Ram, and an i9 10 core/20 threads processor along with a 750 watt power supply. My last computer. Anyway, that's all for now.

Not much going on around here

We're both working from home today and tomorrow night. I got the weekend off and I have my schedule for next week. I may not be able to go anywhere, but I'm grateful I can at least work.

The NHL would like to have the season begin January first 2021 and have limited fans in arenas. They are also talking about regional bubbles, type thing. There are a lot of moving parts in this scenario. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, November 7, 2020

Its Saturday night

and we're getting our first taste a winter snow storm. I love snow days.

I got to call my Aids to daily living file, and its a 20 minute interview over the phone. Other then that I have no going out appointments this week. There's Remembrance Day Wednesday, and Friday the 13th gamble day.

Its going to take the city 2-3 days to dig out of this blizzard. Other then working 4-9 its going to be a quiet week. Joe Biden won? Ok. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, November 3, 2020

Off to get some testing done

for my CVI. That's at the MIRA health centre this afternoon. After that its to grab some Tim's take out and then home around 5pm. To get my steps in, I'm walking back from Clareview station.

This week, I'm working 4-9, Saturday 10-6. In the new year as I'm closing in on 70 years old, I'm going to slow down, to just 3 days a week. I don't mind working but the hours could compromise my pension for 2022.

Despite all these hours, I'm still able to get my steps in. My daily quota is 2K/day or 2,624.67. Today is going to be a bit more because of the extra walking. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, October 31, 2020

Other then the

Doctors office and work, not much else is going on. The results of the chest x-Ray came back negative. I was concerned taking the lrt on the way home due to rush hour capacity. Lots of people on the train. So much for social distancing.

That's what was of a concern for me this week, was being so close to strangers and Covid, even though I wore my mask the whole time. ETS won't let anyone on the train without a mask but I never saw any mask enforcement, and there was the odd person not wearing any mask.

The big news here in Edmonton this last week was the passing of Joey Moss. I think the best way to honor Moss would be to have his name on a banner along with people like Rod Phillips. While they were not players, the work they did as part of the Oilers organization and for the community deserves special recognition. Glen Sather's name should go up there as well as Joe Moss.

Its been a odd week for me despite the Doctors office, weight gain check (240) blood work and chest X-Ray. I hadn't been on the lrt since March. Also this week, I've I felt I had to block somebody on Facebook, and I had people block me on Facebook then apologizing asking for a friend request, and others blocking me on Twitter, yeesh.

This week I'm off today and tomorrow, work Monday, off for another appointment for Tuesday, then back at it Wednesday-Saturday. At least I'm getting the hours, which I'm happy about. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, October 27, 2020

Yesterday was the firs time I've been

downtown since the pandemic. I had a 2pm appointment Baker Clinic. I got weighed, did a blood test and even went for a chest X-ray to check for asbestos. After that it was out to Audrey's books. The door was locked? The sign said knock. Ok, I noticed a lady at the till she came to the door to stand in the threshold holding the door open, saying how they are only accepting phone orders and pick ups. So much for that. An eBook reader looks pretty good right now.

So I went across the street and got myself a Tim's breakfast sausage egg muffin and hash brown. I took it with me, and got the Corona station train to Clareview. It was rush hour about 60% capacity. I got home about 4:30pm had my snack and Anne came home. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, October 23, 2020

I've been working

I 4-9 all week since Tuesday and maybe tomorrow for a bit. The Presidential debate last night killed my male demographic 🙄 yeesh. All the men were watching that time waster.

Other then some work tomorrow, not much is going on for the weekend, except make some music.

Next week on Monday (hopefully the project will be done by then) I have a Doctor's 3pm. I haven't seen him since before the apocalypses. We have a bit of snow on the ground but its just a light dusting. Too cold to melt. Other wise, everything around here is ok, health wise. Have a nice weekend everyone, stay safe. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, October 19, 2020

Off for my walk up to

Belmont dental for my 3pm appointment. Do some banking, Eb games see if I can get a screen protector for my Nintendo Switch, get some dinner for Anne and I and home for the night once the swelling eases off.

This week I'll be busy with the job thing but I'll try and get a mid week post in. I'm always posting stuff daily on Facebook. More Zelda game play tonight. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, October 17, 2020

Just chillin and relaxin

this weekend. Not a lot going on, just playing Zelda on my Nintendo Switch, keeping up with my steps reading and internet stuff, Facebook, that sort of thing. I got my dentist appointment 1 of 3 fillings Monday. Not sure when my next project for work will be but tech support has been working on "my laptop" by remote. It was optional but I cancelled a shift Saturday because it was too short notice. I'm not sure even if there is a shift Saturday. I've also been reading my book "The Icarus hunt." Other then my dry eyes  from diabetes, not much else is going on other then the above. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, October 14, 2020

Anne and I went out to

Smitty's up here by manning Crossing last Sunday  a few days ago. We could have walked it but Anne was tired and we just wanted to have our late brunch so we took a bus instead. ETS front bus signs read "No masks no board." I had the eggs benny. Really good.

We hadn't been at Smitty's since the Pandemic wasn't so widely known, last late February. I was surprised that at Smitty's they don't have regular salt shakers or even Ketchup or HP sauce bottle. They bring a serving to you in small cups and salt is in small packets. They say its because too many people handle them. Much safer and cleaner to do it their way. My right eye is a bit puffy in the above photo because I'm having an episode of dry eyes. We usually try and  get out once a month to eat. We were going to get into Sage's senior's enrichment program but haven't explored that due to the "apocalypses."

I'm going to buckle down and produce some music this month. No pressure but I'd like to do something seasonal. Speaking about my music and channel, I'm thinking about subscribing to Tubebuddy. It has a Keyword generator much like password suggestions when signing up for something new. The Pass word suggestions will say stuff like "too week" or could be stronger, that type of thing. Tubebuddy has been out for some years now but I need to do more research on this before I subscribe and try it out for one year. They offer various subscription plans and no contracts. I'm subscribed to a subscription model like that with Output's Arcade. Other then good content I was wondering why so many of my favorite producers grow their channels so fast.

Yesterday I got into playing more of the Zelda "Links awakening" game on my Nintendo Switch on my monitor. I really like this game. Its used but pricey for what you get. I was going to do a walk through but there is enough of those. I was also thinking about getting into World of Warcraft but its multi player. I don't don't do multi player online gaming. I played for 3 hours on my Nintendo Switch over Elgato HD 60s. No heat up issues at all. However near the end there were some latency issues. To be fair there was about a ten minute pause in the game when the screen fades out, which I think caused for the latency. A Stream deck is in my forecast though before years end.

As for today its a nice sunny day ~ -2. We're going to warm up to ~ +5 and for this time of year, we're lucky to get that. Next week we're supposed to get into the more seasonal +4-6 type temperatures. 3 more Sundays and its daylight savings. Now that's scary. Last night about 6:15 I went out for a walk just around by Sifton Park. I got close to 6000 steps on the day. Last week, I walked the steps of 30 Kilometers. Anyway, we're doing alright here in Clareview, that's all for now.

Friday, October 9, 2020

When tracking daily steps its

called (unofficially) the 10k step challenge. I'll get to that shortly. Yesterday, I headed out of here about 1pm and walked up to Belmont dental. I hadn't eaten before I headed out and I was operating on 2 hours sleep over night but I could wait the hour I was expecting it would take to have 3 fillings done get a bite to eat nearby. I got there no problem. Did the Covid temp check thing: 35.2, and paper work. I was in the chair, had the needles in my mouth, easy peasy from here.  Then while waiting for the anesthesia to kick in, the lack of sleep, and food caught up with me. Also the Bp med I'm on has side effects that rushes to my head. Happens about 2 times a day. Just mild rushes. Plus my blood sugars we're dropping.

I wasn't feeling well, and I let the nurse know. They suggested we try this out again another day. I also needed my denture realigned. So I rebooked for the 19th. I didn't want the day to be a complete waste, and I was next door to Rexall drugs. I asked about the flu shot, and they could see me right away. Cool. I never did to something to eat. Next on my day was Eb games. I walked down to Eb games, and picked up Zelda "Links awakening"😀 Played.

Then I hobbled home. Anne was already on her shift. I explained everything to her. She wasn't all that happy. The delayed news is I ended up with 9,241 steps. Since I began this October 2019, I have yet to reach 10k. Reaching 10k was never a goal. My daily goal was 2k. Have a happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone, that's all for now.

Tuesday, October 6, 2020

Today is the NHL draft

and I'll be following that. Oilers are drafting #14 in the first round. Thursday, I'll be going to Eb games to get a Switch game, get my flue shot, bank and dentist all in one go. We'll see how that goes.

I've been tinkering around with my live streaming set up and so far I'm almost there, except for the chat window. I don't like the Streamlabs chatbot as that takes too much space on he screen. Top chat is better because its off the playing area, idk.

On another gaming note, I got my Xbox 360 Jasper ed, hooked up to my monitor through my Elgato HD60s capture card. It connects the same way the Nintendo Switch does: Xbox hdmi in to Elgato In, and hdmi out from Elgato to the monitor. Because I have 2 hdmi slots on my monitor, I had to hit an "enter" button when hdmi flashes on the monitor screen. Easy. The only problem is, all I could do is just get the 360 dashboard displayed. Even with a game dvd the game wouldn't load. Apparently its got something to do with the laser and the lens not reading the disk. Something like that. Anyway, that's all for now.

Monday, October 5, 2020

The project ended

an hour before shift last night, which is good. I missed my train but at least I got home by 9:30 last night. I still got some business to do over my break here.

Yesterday I left out of the hours about 2:10 for my bus to Clareview station but I ended up waiting for a bit long then bus tracker said. I was on "due" like for 5 minutes. At Clareview station as I was on the glass elevator  heading up I could see my train pulling out. I had lots of time. My trip to my bank was under cold grey skies. I got my form my employer needed and over to Audrey's for book and into work. I got into work to have my boss help me with my T1 paperwork because I'm on pension now. So because work finished early the client isn't ready for the next project. We're hoping by next Thursday. This means I have ~ a 6 day break. Happy days.

So tonight I'm watching The Oilers/Anaheim game on at 8pm. San Jose on Saturday and Florida on Monday. So I've got some Oilers hockey to watch and some time off to get some paper work done (tax time) and I'm going to try out a different technique to have 2 music apps running at the same time. One will be recording the music and my voice overs, the other one will be recording the screen capture. Then I just sync in Luma Touch and I'm in business. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, October 2, 2020

Friday

already? Crazy. Just a recap. So Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley cup, here in Edmonton Monday. I got my work headset. My Elgato HD60 S+ is working ok with Nintendo Switch. I think its the same procedure for my Xbox 360 (Jasper ed) but I don't have the space to set all that up on my desk. I'm trying to set up an appointment for imaging. This is for my compression stockings as "Aids to daily living," needs another assessment (scan) of blood flow to my leg etc, so they can help fund these stockings. Its mainly because we're so low income here. I got a home call from my Doctor, of all things, last night. That was different. The Doctors office wants me to come in for a check up. Covid fatigue is making me a bit jumpy in that department. They are trying to set up a time when I can come in and when I can go get that assessment. I just hope its all done before work ramps up again. Rapid Covid testing kits? Covid air purification kits? And the big news being last night US President Donald Trump tested positive for Covid, wow. I'm gaming for a live stream on my gaming channel this weekend. "Jim on Gaming." Hopefully I can set up the chat room for that. Anne and I are holding on ok for now. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, September 27, 2020

Dallas Stars go on to force a game 6.

That means we'll have NHL Playoff hockey, in late September, again! Last nights game was won in double OT. Game 6 Monday night. This series will be the only time we'll see two NHL teams and one of them hoist the Stanley cup in Rogers Place Arena Edmonton. At least in my life time.

The issue I had with my Nintendo Switch, wasn't HDMI, DRM's or anything like that, it was an old power bar that was disconnected from the outlet. 🙄 Now I have Elgato working with Switch, but I'm going over to Stream elements. I opened an account with them the other day for Jim Shannon gaming. I got some serious cable management, issues to take care of. I did a short stream test this morning with my Nintendo Switch, Elgato capture card, works great. Now all I need to do is set up and adjust Stream elements. I hope to stream Live next weekend. For how long I don't know.

Well, last week my sister unfriend me on Facebook over politics no less. Talk about shallow and week. I thought she was smarter and more mature then that. Most of my family are centre left while I'm centre right. To disagree on politics is all fine and well. Lets argue, lets debate opinions, and move on. I don't want to change the political or religious beliefs of others. We all come from different places, culture and geography. Too unfriend family over politics and unwilling to hear someone else's world view different then your own is petty, and lacks character development. Not everyone needs to agree with me or even needs to be my friend. I stopped caring what people think of me when I was a teenage. Even more so now that I'm a senior. If my sister sends me another friend request, then fine I'll accept it. For all I know, she might have unfriended me for 30 days. You got to let them go so they can grow I guess. Anyway, on that note, stay sassy & classy people.

Wednesday, September 23, 2020

I got 3 fillings to take care of

today at 3pm. I'm going to walk up to Eb games and get myself that Zelda game for my Nintendo Switch, and then get ready for the Lightning/Stars game 3. I don't care which team is in it. This is great hockey. And a special shout out to Oilers’ Leon Draisaitl earns 2020 Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award. The Stanley Cup finale should be awarded i heard October 3rd here in Edmonton.

Finally, I got a game console to run on my computer monitor. I got my Nintendo Switch docked connected to my Elgato HD60 S connected to my computer monitor to record gameplay. What was holding me back was I have multiple hdmi slots. I didn't have hdmi 1 "entered in" on the input menu's for the monitor. Most likely my Xbox 360 will work the same way. Hdmi from the 360 to the input on the HD60 S and another hdmi cable to the monitor.

Other then my dental appointment today, not much else that I can talk about is going on. I'm still reading The Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn. Other then that, not a lot going on. That I can talk about now anyway. And on that note, that's all for now.

Sunday, September 20, 2020

Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas

Stars are duking it out at Rogers Place Arena here in Edmonton. Its the best of 7 games and Dallas took game 1. One game every other day for the 1st 4 games. All I know is the Stanley Cup game will be played here.

C lovers fish n Chips has been here for awhile now. Its about a block away, so we thought we'd treat ourselves and I'm getting a cold beer. It's kind of pricy but we haven't been out since last November before the apocalypses. Looking forward to this, leaving out of here about 4:30pm.

I'm playing Mario Rabbids on my Nintendo Switch. I still haven't got the console connected to my computer, or my external Elgato capture card. I was messing around earlier with Nivdia Shadow play, and yes I can screen record for long then 20 minutes. Actually for half an hour. Next up for the Switch is to connect the console to my laptop. Anyway, that's all for now.

We're having a nice late September

weather-wise. Due to the BLM Antifa arsonists setting fires South of the boarder we're supposed to get a bit of a hazy late afternoon.

Yesterday, on my way to my 3pm dental appointment ~ 1.5k up the street, and on my way, I popped into Eb games to see if they had any Nintendo Switch consoles. They did. So I bought that and a used game and continued on my way. I got 1 of 4 teeth done. The other teeth are smaller jobs. All along the way, my step counter was working. It was a beautiful warm September afternoon. I walked back and got a haircut from across the street. My mouth was still swollen up to about 7pm.

Tonight its game 6 of the New York Islander/Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Eastern Conference playoff game. If the Islanders can win this game, they force a game #7, here in Edmonton. So, I'll have that on my agenda tonight and connect my game console. Also, I ended up with 8100 steps on the day, which is a personal best since I've been keeping records. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday already?

Its been a quiet week not very productive, but some weeks are like that. On tap for this week, I've got to call the Doctors office tomorrow. I should have some pay coming in this week, and a dentist appointment for some fillings.

At the moment, I'm watching game 4 of the Tampa Bay Lightning/New York Rangers. Tb is in in the lead by 1 goal. Some great hockey. Thanks Bilasport and NBC. I'm having fun with the NBC broadcast. Third period to come. Best hockey I've seen in a long time.

I'm enjoying my Sunday afternoon. Great game and Anne has to ruin it to do some vacuuming. Oh well. Anyway, that's all for now.

Tuesday, September 8, 2020

that was. I gave up after the Islanders were down 5-1. I hope their fortunes will take a turn for the better, next game. Having the Stanley cup finale with the Islanders in Edmonton, shades of the 1980's. I had to smile when I saw during intermission an Islander player guarding the door of the dressing room with the Edmonton Oilers logo behind him. You don't see something like that everyday.

About 3am I went out for my walk around out back here. We get homeless people between the two doors, like the person this morning all the time. What with management repairing shingles on the roof and rain ducts, all the time why can't they just put security bars up on the inside of the front glass and a keypad or an atm like device to let residence in? Just insert card and, click. A City Police sign on the door "its not rude its safety," won't stop a crackhead from breaching the building and who knows what? There's always the cost factor involved for sure. We have 4 buildings here, the cost of security doesn't come cheap.

For some reason the labour day weekend seemed longer then usual. Its been unseasonably cold here for this time of year about 16 degrees. Add to the change in weather and with no CFL labour day classic playoff hockey in September, feels weird. Not much going on this week for Jimmy, just watching hockey, reading and working on an idea for my track. Anyway that's all for now.

If Vancouver Canucks wins game 7 tonight

I will be one happy camper. As of today my hopes for a NY Islanders/Canucks Stanley cup final are alive. If the Canucks can get out of this series alive and advance, wow. If Vancouver is out but NY Islanders is still in, I'm rooting for NY. It would be cool to see Jordan Eberle hoist the cup.

I missed my virtual lodge meeting last night. I got so caught up in the hockey game, it escaped my mind. Normally if Lodge was open I'd be there. Highlands Hall hasn't made anything for future lodge meetings official or anything yet. In light of this stupid pandemic, I wonder how many current members we will be retaining because of this shit?

This morning I had trouble sleeping so I read a bit, and that helped. I was out like a light. I had a good 5 hours of sleep after that waking up around 11:30 this morning. This weekend, I'll be following a few hockey games, playing Ice Wind Dale. "My crew" hasn't even been outfitted yet. I still need to download and install that new plugin by "The Cable guys." My firewall seems to get in the way, but my wife's workplace VPN takes over when she's on shift and is a bit more friendly when it comes to downloading vst's. Also, I'd like to make a beat in my Maschine software. Plus reading my book "The Icarus Hunt" there is no shortage of things to do this weekend. Anyway, that's all for now.

Watching lots of hockey

lately. I'm interested in the Islanders/Flyers series, and Vegas/Vancouver games. Vancouver forced a game 6 last night. That game will be tomorrow night. I'd love to see an Islanders/Vancouver match up in the finale.

I made a minor adjustment too my Blog title by moving my photo circle over to the left side. Makes more sense that way. I also put that image above so it makes the dashboard of blog posts more appealing as well I think.

Not much going on around here lately. I'm in between job projects. I got a virtual lodge meeting over Zoom tonight. When I'm not watching hockey I'm on the computer and still getting my 3-4k steps/day in. We've been eating take out way too much lately, so we're cutting back on that. Anyway, that's all for now.

What a crazy week

its been. My portion of the Covid-19 project ended Wednesday. I have a bit of a break for awhile just when I got the software side of things sorted out on the work laptop.

Due to the racial tensions south of the border the Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks have suspended a couple of games in protest but will be back tomorrow. Its the right response to make Anyway, that's all for now.

The new laptop for work arrived the other

day. I was struggling to figure out how to insert my Ethernet cable in the slot. At first it didn't seem to fit and I would need to have it returned. I was still able to do my job "manually" so to speak. I'm not the one to give up easily. The answer lies in You Tube. After searching a bit I found my answer: I need to have the tip of the insert cable, force it into the port guiding it with a bit of pressure on the latch. Presto, it worked. All I need do in the morning is to have my higher ups help me to install the VPN and softphone. Its not a bad system for an i3. I haven't heard anyone say that I cant use the computer for personal use.

What a mess with the ballot counting machine at the Conservative leadership race. Hundreds of ballots were ripped to shreds by the machine. It was after 11pm when CTV news had announced that Peter O' tool is the new leader for the Conservative party. Not that its going to make much difference because the NDP are in bed with the Liberals anyway.

So this week, i got 3 shifts, tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. I have Thursday off and Friday and Saturday are scheduled but i think we're going to finish the project anyway before Thursday. Anyway, that's all for now.

Anne went on a massive cleaning

campaign yesterday, scrubbing walls from last Spring 2019 flooding from the top floor. My job was to get out of her way. So finally its quiet around here. Despite the pandemic, Anne and I have been existing. Sure we have good days and bad days, all couples have fights. At the end of it all, we're still here. We believe in each other. We 2 old people living out our lives with as little drama as possible.

My Doctors office downtown was not only easy to get to but since Covid 19 and most people working from home, the Provincial Government closed the seniors office below my Doctors. Vacancy rate for office space downtown is pretty high rate now and that closure only increases the glut in vacant office space. That seniors office had been there for a long time.

I posted another video on my "Shannon on sounds" You Tube channel. I've already got 2 likes and 8 views. I got another idea for another video to upload over the next few days. Anyway, that's all for now.

I got a work related email that arrived to my

inbox this last Tuesday. My fingers are crossed. of course for privacy reasons I can't divulge anything but it looks good. Jimmy "needs" another computer upgrade. I got my eye on that LGA 1200 B460 motherboard that has 2 m.2 drive slots and Bluetooth. I can pull the trigger on that now, but I need the hours just to cushion the blow of such a large investment.

I've been wanting to call Aids to daily living for awhile now. Would they be open today? Shure enough. So I got to make a Doctors appointment and I haven't been to my Doctor since before Covid. I'm a little paranoid about seeing him. He needs to send out an adl form so I can be assessed for compression stockings again, which is usually followed up with ultrasound. I got a few other errands to do that day as well.

This weekend I'm working on my upcoming track. I almost got it together, overlaying some motion graphics to help spice things up a bit. I bought a plugin from Plugin Boutique but for some reason its not showing up in my daw. Not sure what the problem is. Sometimes it could be a firewall thing as well. I'll most likely need a support ticket. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Because of all the walking

I did yesterday I developed a slight sprain in my right ankle. Chances of getting 2600 steps in today doesn't look good at just under 1000 steps.

When I got the m.2 ssd, I had enough funds for a larger ssd. I hadn't realized how easy it was to get to Memory Express, West End. Using Google maps and ETS, I discovered that the #137 from Clareview West, heads right by the store. Its a block away off of 170th street NW and 109th Ave. Its a block away from the Wendy's there. When I'm ready to get my upgrade in around Halloween, I'll take Anne along with me and we can get a bite to eat at iHop. That's the idea anyway. We'll see what happens.

The idea today was to make some phone calls but I got off on a tangent. Anne went on a bottle run and returned with Taco time. I can still make those calls tomorrow. Anyway, that's all for now.

The Oilers have got one last kick at the can

and that will be Friday After that its any Canadian team except the Flames. I'd even cheer for Columbus if it came down to that. Nothing against Calgary, its the Flames. I believe the oilers will come out with both guns blazing Friday. Penalties is what did the Oilers in yesterday.

Ottawa went and made a deal with Phrizer and Moderna for millions of doses. When these doses will be made available remains unclear to me. I heard delivery will be in October, initial trials will be held early 2021 but I have no proof of this. We'll have to wait and see how this unfolds but if I can get access to it, I'll take it. Why not?.

So the other day, I'm finding out a good Fantasy role playing game for the computer. I still had ~ $30 in my Steam wallet. I wanted a game like the old Ultima series. I found Icewind Dale. I had heard about this before so I picked it up last night, and began playing it on my new m.2 ssd. It plays pretty fast. At the moment after I save the game, I can't figure out how to exit the game.

As I draft this its 3:30 in the morning and I'm drinking a a cold bottle of Sleeman Honey larger, delicious. I don't always drink larger but this is an exception. I have a beer maybe once a month and we already went through 4 bottles, so this will last me for awhile. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Its been one of those weeks and in an effort to

keep myself busy, I got my m.2 drive installed.  It was a challenge. Also, the other day, I did the data migration thing. Also a bit of a challenge but after playing around for a bit between disk manager/Device manager and the Bios boot order, I got everything working. All the above was easier then I thought. My original ssd went from 120Gb for C to now 357Gb (including OS a Windows 10 update later. Everything just works. Next up is to format the 129Gb drive so I can use that to store games on.

The We charity scandal just wont go away and I for one hope the opposition continues to turn up the heat. The only thing saving the Liberal
party's butt right now is the NDP Jagmeet Singh. Trudeau even went to call out finance Minister Bill Morneau about the $41k. I expect a Liberal cabinet shuffle soon. At the moment I'm not confident with any Conservative leadership candidate hopeful. The only one I liked was Leslyn Lewis but she dropped out last week.

This week, its going to be watching hockey, some game play, making beats and keeping my daily 2k walks going. Yesterday was the 33rd anniversary of the Black Friday tornado weekend. Right now, its a scorcher at +29. That's 84.2 for my American friends. Anne is hard at work on her last of 3 days, we got all the fans on. otherwise, we're holding out ok here. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, July 29, 2020

It was good to watch

the Flames/Oilers game at Rogers place arena last night. Even Sports Net commentators suggested that the Flames goal was goaltender interference. Talbot was atrocious. I'm looking forward to Saturday's afternoon game.

I still haven't got my OS drive cloned over to the m.2 drive yet. It was suggested somewhere that I disconnect the existing hard drives except the source and obviously the destination drive. At least I got a look at the single fan graphics card. I hope to get the migration tool set up properly and the boot order correct. Anyway, that's all for now.

Like in the song by

George Harrison, "All things must pass," hit home for me this morning. Since 2007, I was on a popular Edmonton forum called Connect to Edmonton or C2E. C2E was all things Edmonton, sports, restaurants, bars, events, and even international things of interest. Lots of politics. I had over 9,000 posts of my own. It was a gold mine of information. I met some people that liked me, some didn't. I'm not sure what happened to cause its demise. What with working a lot of day hours last month, C2E wasn't even on my radar until this morning. Normally I'd get email notifications of a thread I was following. My last email from C2E was May 22nd of this year. I tried going to the main page directory of activity, to only get a message from the forum's owner, saying why he had to take the forum down. Very sad. It's the end of an era.

With all that in mind before bed, I've been thinking about deactivating my Facebook page in an effort to break free from my recent past. I like the Facebook groups, like "I grew up in Coquitlam," the Vancouver and Edmonton groups, and messenger. I can in settings still keep those groups, and next month, I'm seriously thinking about temporarily deactivating my Facebook profile/page. Except for the people I already chat with like friends and family. The lodge can send me stuff by email, and I'll keep Twitter, this blog and You Tube. I just don't like the ugliness of politics, and the disturbing Gif images.

I still haven't been able to get my m.2 drive installed. I've been lazy in that department but I want to start playing games on that SSD as  well and more video editing. Other then that, I'm looking forward to NHL hockey coming up this week, and some other stuff related to my pension. I'm entering a new phase in my life but the only thing hindering me is damn pandemic. Anyway, that's about all for now.

The other day in a Skype conversation

Profile
me and an old friend of mine for over 20 years were having a discussion about trust. She couldn't why a mutual 3rd party wouldn't give out a phone number. These 2 people got along very well but my friend over the years forgot her friends phone number somebody else had access to. This person could not give out the phone number. Its not just about privacy its about trust. My friend insisted so and so can trust her. All parties have known each other for many years. My friend couldn't grasp the concept of trust on this level. My friend is a smart lady, she'll figure it out in the end.

After a bit of research, I lucked out on the size number of my SSD 2280, and the Key number. My M.2 is a 2280, and its an M key and its Gen3x4. When I'm ready to upgrade

So apparently, the City of Edmonton has just announced that wearing a Covid face mask will be mandatory on a ETS buses and all City run facilities, its a good move. And on that note, I'm off to lunch.

When I escaped the nest back in

1973, I stopped caring what people think about me. People come and go, and for the ones that recently did leave my reaction is meh. I've also learned that once in awhile I need to outgrow some people. Not everyone needs to be my friend. Maybe they want to kick the tires a bit, see if there's anything there. Its just part of human nature.

I mentioned the above because I received a rare Facebook friend request the other day. This person said, "I know (blank) I heard lots about you." My response was, "uh oh." This person might not ever engage with me in chat again, its all good. Whether friends did me wrong or are struggling with me and they have my phone number and want to talk, I will talk with them. No problem. I'll put down what I'm doing, my friends are important. I'm not mad at anyone. Best time to call me however is mornings until 1:30pm, because I have more privacy.

Next Week, NHL Oilers hockey returns! 😃 Its Oilers@Calgary. Well at Rogers Place arena that is. Tuesday July 28th 8:30pm, in an exhibition game. I'm not sure if any of these games are televised. An exhibition Oilers game in July, wow. Then on the following Saturday August 1st its the playoff qualifying round Chicago@Oilers best of 5. So its (unless things change and if the games are televised) I'll be able to see Oilers history in the making.

On tap for this week, I'm working on a dub chill kind of a track using material form my Loop Cloud library and Arcade. Also, just to up my game a bit more, I'll be introducing some royalty free motion graphic overlays into the mix. Plus I hope to get that Samsung 970 Evo Plus m.2 ssd onto my motherboard. Do a bit of "open heart" surgery so to speak. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thursday, July 16, 2020

Yesterday while at

Staples, I couldn't believe all the customers inside without Covid face masks on. Staples has lots of hand sanitizers and most of the staff have face masls or are behind shields.

I bought the Samsung nvme ssd and 2 packages of energel pens. They have some nice computer chairs at Staples as well, and I almost bought one, but couldn't justify spending below my balance. Perhaps next month.

Also yesterday, Anne and I did a massive purge of our closet, which contained mostly my stuff. The "purge" was Anne's idea but I agreed. I threw out a lot of crap but also found a bunch of stuff, like my Bartending 1 course certificate:

The above certificate was issued shortly after completing the test, November 26th 1984 at Norquest college. I never pursued the 2nd part because I realized that bartending was the kind of a job that would require me to stay on my feet. I did that all day at my day job at the time.

So its official, Edmonton and Toronto are the only 2 NHL hub cities. On the 26th of this month there will be an exhibition game, Calgary at Edmonton, and I imagine Edmonton at Calgary. Its my understanding that the puck drops on the season wrap up August 1st. The Stanley Cup game will be played here in Edmonton. Anyway, that's all for now.

In an effort to get around the city

utilizing ETS, quite often I'm needing to use transit information. I need an m2 hard drive asap. Best selection is memory express on the South Side but getting there since the City had to make a lot of cuts to transit due to Covid1-19 and rout tweaking, getting around town can often be a challenge. So while on hold with transit information to see if the #70 bus still has a stop at Central Station, I learn the last LRT is at 10pm😲Wow! And my #70 no longer goes to the north side and only runs peak hours. Fortunately for me Staples is just down the block and I need some gel pens anyway and other stationary. They have some m2 ssd's and even if they don't have any in stock, I'll get my steps in and some lunch at Wendy's on the way back. Sounds like a plan.

Earlier this week, I got my huge order from Amazon. I got my 6 foot hdmi/Dvi-di and the hdmi/vga cable, plus the m2 nvme enclosure kit, Elgato capture card, the usb c-usb dongle. I should have ordered the Xbox 360 vga cable in there as well. Since we haven Amazon plant an hour or so away from me, the order took less then a week to pick up. I'm well aware of the Elgato capture card issue but I've seen some work arounds that I can make this work. Its just a replacement hdmi cable and I have a spare one around here somewhere.

Also, the other day at Eb games, on my way to the Clareview Drugstore, to pick up my Amazon order, I picked up my first Steam card and a game controller charger for my Xbox (Jasper ed) 360 as I plan on doing some mods on my 360 this summer. However some of the numbers under the label of the gift card failed to show up. After some screen shots and tech support later, I got the right numbers and added the funds to my Steam wallet. So, once I get this hard drive issue sorted out I can download some games. One can't make music all the time. Anyway, that's all for now. have a nice weekend everybody.

Saturday, July 4, 2020

We've been getting a lot of

rain and a bit of a mixed bag of sun and rain for the last 2 weeks. If we got one day of + 25
I hadn't noticed. This has been one of the coldest summers that I can remember anyway.

I placed 2 Amazon orders this last week because I couldn't find what I wanted locally. And even if it was listed I'd have order online anyway. I'd love to support locally if they ever had in stock what I want.

It looks like the Mars Perseverance with the helicopter will take place this month after all. I had thought that the mission was scrubbed due to Covid-19 and all. The James Web telescope is still a go for March next year. Other then that, we're holding out ok here in Edmonton. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, June 27, 2020

Its been an interesting week of

going down memory lane and connecting the dots. I'll explain. First, back in 1973 as our family was in a state of transition, I took temporary residence in a place called Burrard Bible Institute (BBI), otherwise known as the Plantation Inn, Port Moody BC. it was empty when I spent a couple of nights there. One guy Maurice was the unofficial caretaker and allowed me to stay. This was a log style building that was 60 feet wide by about 200 feet long. I always wondered about the history of this building. It was once a brothel, used in the prohibition period for illegal purposes, and finally an off and on Bible camp. I got onto a Port Moody Facebook group from a recomendation. The building was dismantled piece by piece and shipped to be restored to Kelowna BC. I can't find any reference to it there.

Otherwise, other then that, I've been keeping up with my walking eating sleeping and lots of Facebook and chatting with my friend Francis. I haven't been doing any music production at all but plan on putting a loop together this weekend and some video editing.

Anyway, I'm off to bed as I'm up at 7am to wake up and pre for my breafast Zoom meeting. So, on that note, that's all for now.

Wednesday, June 24, 2020

Sometime this week

maybe even today, the NHL is going to announce the name of the 2 hub cities 2 host games. Most likely it wont be Edmonton or a Canadian city. Training camp July 1st? Even though there wont be any fans at the games, its going to be good to have hockey back.

Some places around town have been getting the Nintendo Switch game system. Even if the consoles come in 2-4 at a time for a couple times a month. Covid has been slowing down the supply of product lately. And to think I had my Switch last May but returned it because I couldn't get it to display on my computer monitor and that was my cash for the summer before another unexpected source of cash came in. Otherwise I would have kept it knowing what I know now.

And on that note, I'm enjoying my time off. Just chillin and relaxing. That's all for now.

Sunday, June 21, 2020

Having a week off would be pretty good

right about now. I wouldn't complain even if I had the rest of the summer off, tbh. Actually that would be ok with me. Its all good.

Until a vaccine for Covid-19 is developed, I'm sticking to more or less home base. Other then going out on my walks, once a month going out with my lovely wife, and make my monthly deposit at my bank that is. I miss my lodge and the guys at FCC. As soon as a vaccine is available, I'm going out with Sage and North East seniors.

This week, I'm trying to get Maschine 2 software to work with my Fl. Studio 20. There are lots of video's on the topic. I have Maschine 2 software on my desktop. Also, I'm working on a beat with Arcade's "Drip."

Other then that, just enjoying my time off and the summer. Life is great and the storm is behind me. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, June 19, 2020

Not much going on

right now. I put my 40 hours in and got out 25 emails and  made ~ 155 calls. Project manager was impressed. As for now, I don't know what's coming up next if they want me to do Ontario, I will. If not and I have the summer off, great. All I know, is that it looks like I'm back to normal hours: In bed by 4am up between 9-10. Works for me. If all goes well I should have 67.5 hours on my cheque at the end of the month. I hadn't had day hours like that since the 80's.

So the Federal Government lifted Covid-19 travel restrictions for NHL for either Edmonton, Vancouver or Toronto to be one of the 2 Canadian hub cities to play in, whenever they resume play. Hopefully this will be in July or August. Anyway, everything is alright health wise for Anne and I. Anyway, that's all for now.

Sunday, June 14, 2020

That was a hard week last week

pulling in 40 hours. I hadn't that 8-4pm since the '80's. I think I got one more week, this week and that should be it for the summer. I'll continue on for as long as they continue to give me work.

This last Friday the Alberta Government went and began stage 2 of 3 to open up the Alberta Government. Like most Provinces, the pandemic went and closed everything. Stage 2 allowed for 50 people to gather. Rec centres are allowed to open and so are churches and theatres. Social distancing rules apply of course. Monday ETS is back to charging fares for rides. Its okay since working from home I'll rely on my seniors bus pass or not one at all.

Over the last week on my down time I've been binge watching Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes, and McHale's navy. When I'm not doing that, its going on my walk in many cases after work. I'm usually in bed by 1am up by 6:30am. Anyway, that's all for now.

Wednesday, June 10, 2020

Yes I'm still working through the work week

day 5 of a full 8 hour work day. I haven't had a shift like this since the 80's. I think though I'm going to run its course by Friday. Most likely because of numbers and performance. I get 2 paid 15 minute breaks and a half hour unpaid break. We break off at 3:45pm.

Last week I got my first RGB gaming keyboard. I like the back lit keys. It has a usb dongle for Bluetooth (bt) but this computer never came with bt as it wasn't in the budget. I'd love to get a bt motherboard but apparently they are rare. Also I got a new mouse as well. I've got the Logitech mouse and webcam.

Stage 2 of opening up Alberta's economy begins on Friday. The City can now open libraries, gatherings of more then 50 people, Rec centres can now open but social distancing and face masks are recommended. Them Premier said that there will still be increase spikes in Covid cases, At risk people (like me) should be cautious of course. Anyway, login time is almost upon me. Mary if your reading this, please give me a call anytime. I have no idea what's going on here. And on that note, anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, June 6, 2020

At least I've got a bit of work

doing days so that was the big news this week for Thursday and Friday. Best part about this, is its 7 hour days. I'm in bed by 1am up at 7. For hour long I don't know. Also last week I had a Zoom lodge meeting the same day. Also this week I got a rgb gaming keyboard. I miss my low profile keys but this is a wireless keybiard. I'm not using it now but I will when Anne gets off work.

My goal for my You Tube channel this year is 100 subscribers. I'm already at 60. I'm having some trouble in Fl Studio channel rack because somehow the plugin's loaded in there dissapear and I can't click on them to call them back. I don't want to do anything now until Anne is off work.

I've been doing a lot of binge Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes watching on You tube this last week, and McHales Navy. That and going out every night in good weather. Other then that, just holding the fort, not spending any money. Anyway, that's all for now.

Saturday, May 30, 2020

Having a nice weekend

yesterday was the first time since the emergence of Covid 19 I had interest into going into a store. I needed a new computer mouse, as the right click button didn't work. So I went across the street to Visions and they have instore pickup. I noticed these see through shields they had installed. I got my first wireless mouse and it worked fine.

This morning however in my zoom meeting my face was mostly chromo keyed out. I'll be playing around with those settings over the next few days. I'm not sure if the chromo key is because of the blue tooth dongle that came with the mouse or what? No chromo key affects in Streamlabs, so that's pretty good.

This is an interesting Covid-19 graphic:
The above image was from yesterday. Sadly most of the deaths were from long term senior care centres. The surprising stat above is that almost 90% of the cases since the pandemic, have recovered. I'm concerned that although I might have been spared the 1st wave, can I survive the 2nd wave? That's the 64k question. Anyway on that note, have a nice weekend everyone, take care.
