It feels good getting back to work

and all yesterday. Even better leaving with a bit of daylight left as the Sun is setting closer to 9pm every day. For the most part everything has dried up out there. We got to 22 degrees yesterday👍

After plenty of posts on Connect 2 Edmonton, and several days later, I feel I can comment on Monday's tragic incident in Toronto. The motive it seems was out of incel. Or one being incel. Its misogynistic to say the least. #Toronto strong.

Is tonight's game #7 Leafs/Boston going to be it for the Leafs? Or are they going to advance to the 2nd round? I'll be following the game at work. This is another case why a cell phone data plan would come in handy. It'd be nice to know when that #5 incoming bus would get to my stop. We wouldn't need the data plan in the summer. Something to think about. Anyway, that's all for now.

It was supposed to be

July 1st when Ottawa would make Cannabis legal here in Canada or marijuana. I mention this because this weekend was the celebrated day of smoking pot. Or 4-20. The Official date to make bill C-45 legal is, apparently is early August or even late September of this year. Apparently Ottawa's tax grab is $1/gram. I've been hearing that pot will be sold at $10/gram. That's about an inch deep at the bottom of a coffee cup. I've heard also that when pot is legalized, traffic on the US boarder could be slowed. Also, its not ok to take weed across the boarder. I don't smoke, pot. I tried it once and like smoking tobacco, it hurt my throat. I said never again. I'm not against anyone smoking pot. Each to their own. I just don't like the smell. I'm sure when weed becomes legal, we're going to smell it all over the place. Income from pot sales will be split 25% for the Feds and 75% for the Province. Ottawa could expect to get about $100 million/year. Lots of landlords don't want renters to smoke pot in their rental units because it can be expensive to remove the smell of pot smoke from the walls and floors of suites, between $5-6,000/suite. Smoking pot in a condo or apartment here in Edmonton is against city bylaws, but its hard to prove.

I got a email from the supervisors desk yesterday at work, saying we're back at it Tuesday. Most likely this will be a 4 day project. If the project lasts longer, I'm changing my availability to include Saturday. My availability is on my calendar inserted month by month. I'll edit in Saturday just in case. If I can get 65 hours in back to back between now and when work dries up, I'll have enough for my new computer. Lately, we've been getting a project for 4-5 days and 4 days off. Not good.

The Kinder Morgan (km) pipeline Alberta/BC feud is about to get turned up a notch. The Alberta Government, is considering turning off the taps. This means shutting BC out of oil & gas. This is unprecedented. This could cripple BC's economy and hurt Alberta as well. BC more immediately as gas at the pumps could go to $2. This pipeline has Federal backing. Could Alberta actually go ahead with this? Some believe, yes. Alberta needs Federal licenses (Bill-12) to transport oil & gas, and if Ottawa doesn't grant those licenses to ship oil and gas products in any way BC could be in trouble. Here's the skinny on the issue and the comments at the bottom of this article are very interesting as well. Anyway, that's all for now.

On one hand my

job is good because it is flexible and gives me time off between projects. Like now. I'm on day 1/5. On the other hand its no good for the pocket book. I think I'm back to work Tuesday.

Having time off like I have especially this time of year, lets me watch some play off hokey. Even though the Oilers aren't in it, I'm supporting The Winnipeg Jets. They advanced to the 2nd round finishing game #5 5-0 over The Wild. Could the Jets go to the finale? Hard to say.

All this week I've been working at getting a banner up on my You Tube channel. I've been using Pixlr, and its very easy to use. Its free and online. The next thing I'm working on is an outro over the weekend.
Today, we've had one of the nicest days so far here in Edmonton this year. Temperature rose to +15☀Even now as the sun sets its +12 but we're on the other side and its mostly shade here. I have my window opened and its very nice, and comfortable. Anyway, that's all for now.

We got a massive spring

dump of snow out there. Kind of treacherous going out for my appointment this afternoon, so I'll be making a call to rebook. I can make my payment for $23 next week or even later this week on my way to work.

This feud BC and Alberta are having over the kinder Morgan pipeline is having BC Premier John Horgan and Alberta Premier in a battle over the pipeline. Justin Trudeau and the NEB are in favour of the pipeline going forward in the national interests of the Country. The pipeline has legal Federal sanctions. So now we have all these people protesting the pipeline trying to slow it down, so called environmentalists. Yet what they don't want people to know is that BC is third in the country when it comes to dumping raw sewage into oceans, lakes and rivers. BC dumps hundreds of millions of raw sewage every year. BC is the #1 exporter of coal  in North America. Journalist Danielle Smith did an expose on this recently. You can read the article on my Facebook page here. In other words folks, BC "environmentalists" are hypocrites. These "environmentalists" don't want you to know about this hypocrisy.

So, it looks like I'm having a bit of an extended break here. I've been invited to attend an office bon voyage party for one of our senior members. Hopefully it will be before the new project begins. Other wise my paycheck could be very small. Anyway, that's all for now.

So once my wife gets a few things

resolved (hopefully this week) I'll be able to order the parts for my new computer. I'll be able to do some live streaming and live gameplay. My first computer I bought since 2005.

That was (yesterday), my first and last experience in a Vietnam restaurant. They were sure busy for a Sunday afternoon. I was with a group of 13 I think it was. I didn't have anything to eat.

My last day off as I think I'm back at work tomorrow. I'm watching a bit of playoff hockey when I can. Winnipeg got blown out 6-2. Lots of soft penalties.

After our 5pm brunch I was working on channel art for my You Tube channel. I think I'm just going to wait until I get the new computer and an art program like Vegas Pro or Corel draw or something. Anyway that's all for now.

I've got 2 more days out

out of 5. I like having the time off but the bills don't like it.

Wow, Art Bell dead at 72. I always listen to Coast to Coast am. Sad news.

So today I'm heading out of here at about 1pm to gather with brethren from the lodge. Its a social event at an undisclosed location 😯 But its out for a few hours.

I put together another track on my You Tube channel showing for the first time my over head mic video shot. Not the gear, just the end result.

So if all goes well, I might be able to get a real desktop computer this week. I  selected the parts, I'm just having it built for me. I'm looking at a i5/6 core processor (integrated graphics) 16DDR4 Ram, Matx case, 4Tb hard drive, dvd read/writer player, with a 600 watt ps. I already have a sound card. I'm getting a Windows 10 media cd to go along with it, etc. Most likely this will take a day or 2 to build. This is not a gaming rig. Anyway that's all for now.

Just going into work and

back this week. Last night the project finished earlier at 7pm. I was home by 8. Next project next week sometime, Tuesday?

Anne's out at Tim's getting us a treat and I'm working on some channel art for my You Tube channel. I'm trying to establish what my music channel is about. The heading will be Jim Shannon on sounds. With the Jim part kind of tilted. Underneath: Noodling, i0s, messing about. Something like that. I discovered a online channel art creator: Pixlr and playing around with it.

This has got to be the most coolest month I've seen here in Alberta since 1982. At the moment its -1 but it feels like -6. Its overcast gloomy, Tomorrow we're supposed to be at +6 and +9 Saturday 👍 With all this we still have snow on the ground in spots. Especially out behind us:

Anne's brought us out one of Tim's Turkey club and it was surprisingly good. She brought me back a Boston Cream and a coffee to have for later. Finally i have a few hours to myself. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Yikes, I haven't blogged in a week

as things have been relatively busy around here. Lodge and the job plus life here in "the big city." 👀

The tragic accident of the Humboldt Bronco's. Friday night on the news is where I first got a glimpse of the story. I learned yesterday while waiting for Mary in the Northgate food court at noon on my iPod via wifi. 15 people. I was shocked, like. I'm sure the driver is devastated from the accident. He was treated and released. That's why I don't like going on country roads because stuff like this. My  heart goes out to the Humboldt community.
😭
Yesterday I had got my compression stockings but they are really tight to put on. So tight in fact I had to by (as suggested) a pair of latex gloves to put them on. I didn't know how I'm going to put them on by myself. There needs to be a better solution. So I met with Mary at the food court. We haven't seen each other in over 25 years. We had a good chat and had lunch. We agreed to do this more often. So I caught my #9 bus to107/101st and did my business and got a stage mic stand (heavy carrying home) and the iKlip expand for smartphones. Both work great.

Anne had a short shift and was home before 8pm. My Vancouver/Oilers game was just getting underway. Last game for the Sundin Twins. The Oilers gave them a nice send off and the crowd a standing ovation. The game went to OT then a shoot out. As for today, it's a Wrestlemania Sunday and off to work tomorrow. We need these hours. Other then a Doctors visit (follow up) Tuesday and back to the music store on my into work, I've got a quite week ahead. Anyway, that's all for now.

The weekend so far has been a

connecting via messenger with old associates and friends type weekend. One guy I hadn't spoken with since the early 70's. It was kind of a draining chat. Then I connected, yesterday with an old neighbor/woman/friend I was ahem, interested in. That was something like 27 years ago. Its just life gets in the way. Lots of water under the bridge. Another reason why I like Facebook, connecting with old friends.

So, this morning Anne and I watched Star Wars, "The last Jedi." I'm still wearing my oh wow face. These movies keep getting better and better. Most likely there are a lot of trailers out there and most Sci-fi fans have seen this movie. The only thing I didn't like about the move was the kiddy factor: The little birds on Luke's Island. I think that was more a cheesy Disney thing then a plot device. I liked Poe's drone though. The birds worked though. I thought the performance by Adam Driver (Ben) was exceptional. I really liked the characters Poe and Finn. Carrie Fishers digitalized voice over wasn't that bad. This was another JJ Abrams movie. The movie earned $1.3 Billion. Very impressive. The overall rating apparently is 75% liked by fans or a 3.5 stars out of 5. I think the reason for the rating is mainly because fans are receiving too much of a good thing. Too much Star Wars. There's 2 more films coming up. 1 in this series next year and another one on Han Solo. I'm giving Star Wars "The last Jedi" 4.5/5 stars. Only because of the stupid birds. At least Disney toned down the Star Wars cliché's. We paid $7.99 on video on demand to see this movie. Anne watched it twice while I was in bed sleeping.

Today I'm following the Nashville/TB NHL game. Hopefully the Preds can keep Kucherov off the score board. Good luck with that. I think this is a back-to-back for Nashville since they played yesterday. Tomorrow I've got the Oilers/Wild game and Wrestling. The fun never ends around here.

This week I'm trying to get our tax forms out to be filed. Also I'm trying to book an appointment to get my compression stockings at Northgate for Saturday. If I can get that together then hopefully meet with my friend (see above) at the Northgate food court. I've no interest in establishing anything with her. She usually travels with an entourage of her best friend and her friends husband anyway. Ahh, if that's the case, I'll pass thanks. I'll try and scout in advance if we meet that day. One-on-one over coffee is fine but not with a whole slew of people in tow. No offense to them. Most importantly out of all of that I have Lodge on Thursday, then back to work Friday after that let the weekend begin. Anyway, that's all for now.
