Wednesday evening Anne and I

tried a little experiment: I'd ride a bike for the first time in almost over 50 years! So we went out back here on 135th. It was a hot evening out there folks. I got on the bike but I lost my balance and fell scraping my knee, my elbow and landing on my arm. My arm is still soar.

So I hobbled with Anne to Walmart. I waited at McDonald's as she went to lock her bike. She wanted to buy me a pair of slip on runners. I've been planting the seed about getting the Nintendo Switch all week. So after the shoes, we went over to the electronics section. We got a clerk to help us. Anne asked some questions, "ok get one for him." I felt good about that. Over to McDonald's and she bought us each a Sunday. Then she wen t to get her bike and I met her later at the SW section of the parking lot. We walked home but she rode ahead of me and waited parodically until I got we got home.

Anne wanted to wait until she got her pension money in over night before I could keep it. So, it came in about 5am. Yesterday about noon I unboxed the device and had a bit of trouble getting the wifi to work but it works fine now. I'm going to go over to Shoppers tmr to see if they have any e shop cards. They work kind of like iTunes cards. Anne gave me $25 towards getting a card and I'll put a bit more in. Its been an interesting couple of days. Anyway, that's all for now.

Still no projects hapening

but I think we have one we're waiting on this week. I'll be surprised if we get it going by Friday. Apparently this is the last project we'll be doing in this office I've called my 2nd home for the last 4 years. We'll be downtown 2 blocks away from Rogers place arena. When, I have no idea.

This week so far I've been out walking my 2 miles Sunday night and I'm going tonight. I like going out. Not even the bugs bother me what with all the greenspace flanking either side of me. One thing I'm looking at is a stationary bike by either Canadian Tire or Costco. I want to get one that has Google maps. This is going to be really good for the winter. I was also looking at a walking pad as well for indoor walking during the winter. The walking pads are great as they can be folded. I'm not sure if the speed of the pad is automatic or set, or if it just moves when you move. I could get similar results by just walking in one spot but this feels like your actually getting somewhere. The other alternative is to get a fit 4 less club membership. I was looking at that as well. I like the cub membership because I can get a bite to eat and then burn off the carbs. Besides we don't have a lot of space here for a bike and a walking pad. The other nice thing about getting out is I can be with people, and its always good getting out.

My team didn't win but I feel this series is going to go 7 games. At least my wrestling was entertaining, so last night wasn't a complete loss. So in other words I had a great evening. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its +21* out here right now

with very little wind. It was nice yesterday about this time as I went on my little walk. I'm just taking the back street there beside Sifton School from the bus shelter to the bus bench on 50th. I make 4 laps that way, and then walk behind our place. Rest at the bus bench and inside walk down the  other end of the building and back to my place is about 2 miles.

I had an anxiety attack there about 4pm over a certain someone missing from my life as of last December. I usually get them about 2-3 times a week now. If your reading this, you know who you are, and I still don' t know what happened. I can't get through, please call me.

We are supposed to be on a new project sometime this week. I think tomorrow I'm going to go to Service Canada and try and open an ei claim. I'm not sure if I have enough hours. I could call but what the heck. I got nothing else going on. Anyway that's all for now.

Not much happening this week

but I'm hoping to get a call to go into work Tuesday for Tuesday night to set work up for the rest of the week. Saturday I have my "band of brothers" morning prayer group. If there's any work Saturday I'll see if I can go in from 1-6. Other then that, I have a Doctors appointment for Friday. BOB Saturday and work possibly later that day. If there is a Saturday shift its going to be a short one.

Not much else going on. I'm periodically working on a Drum & Bass track in Fl. Studio, reading watching a bit of hockey checking on my email Facebook, that type of thing. So, its a quiet week coming up. I'll probably. Anyway that's all for now.

The City has contingency buses

in place this long weekend due to LRT construction along the Capital line. I hadn't seen a main street here in Edmonton dug up like this since 1981. That was when Jasper Ave was ripped up and covered in mud. If you had to cross the street the City had wooden gangplanks to walk across. The contingency buses are in place for the whole long weekend.

There's no hockey on until Tuesday. No Eskimo football until next Sunday. At least there's the WWE today, so that's ok. Next weekend is Eskimo training camp and hockey. Anyway, that's about all for now.

Seems I'm blogging about once a week now

only because there's been so much happening lately but I've been very active on Facebook lately. Saturday someone on the top floor had their toilet backed up and began flooding their suite and partially the one above us. Water seeped into our light fixtures and our intercom and along the sides of the ceiling and walls. Water got into our linin closet etc. Fortunately our carpets were ok. We had this industrial floor air blower that pumped noisy air into the open intercom panel. We had to put up with that for 4 days. We were not very happy.

For awhile now I've been checking out various fitness memberships. The Clareview rec centre wants over $800 for a 1 year membership. Yikes! Good life wants something like $120 month. You get a personal trainer there and with the rec centre your paying for the pool, sauna, library etc. Even the YMCA's membership is pricy. I've been hearing a lot about "Fit 4 life", so I checked their website. The basic plan is $20/month and their flagship plan is $300/year. I called them up. "How come so cheap?" They're not paying for a work out pool or shower stalls, or trainers and pools. They have lockers and changing rooms. Plus like Goodlife, they are open 24 hours. Goodlife makes sense to me because they are virtually across the street but $800/year seems a bit too much and I don't need a personal trainer. I had free access for the Clareview rec centre for 2 years and we could count on one hand how many times we've been there. I wasn't into fitness back then but now I'm more health conscious now then back in those days.

This afternoon, I'm out of here just before 1pm for my 2pm Doctor's appointment. I'm going to talk to my Doctor about what he would recommend for me for physical fitness as I like the stationary bike and I want to try the rowing machine. After that, its up to Sport Chek at City Centre Mall. I've got my eye on a Fit bit activity tracker. I'm looking to get the charger 2. Not sure about the usb charger though. It looks kind of flimsy. After that, I'm going to try and get that #2 bus somewhere downtown so I can get to Wendy's over here and Staples. 102nd street in the core is blocked off for the laying of lrt track. Anyway, that's all for now

I worked 2 shifts last week

but everything I make now is just pocket money anyway. Mainly because all my pension back pay came in and I get to keep some for a nice monthly allowance. At least we have a 2 big bills paid off and  that makes Anne happy. If it were not for my wife, I'd be on the street. It took 66 years to get this far. Living the dream, yeah right.😥

So tomorrow, I'm up at 6am for our men's prayer group at 7am. Its a nice walk over there anyway, and my walk back. I'm going to try and get some sleep and after Anne and I are going to head out for a bite to eat downtown to celebrate some major bills being paid off. I'm getting my book at Audrey's and home to watch some hockey.

I love mothers day weekend. The weather is improving, some time off NHL playoffs and I've got a bit of cash. However this break is going to be short lived because we have another project coming up Tuesday/Wednesday, then its the Victoria day long weekend. I feel like I'm getting spoiled. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its not that a lot has been going on

but just busy with life in general. I've been getting some exercise in at least 2 days/week walking around the block. I worked 6 days including a Sunday in there. Work has been very sketchy lately. I had my Lodge last Thursday, where I was asked to do the Tyler role for a brother that had a family.
situation.

This Monday I was almost ready to take on a job with Rob from the old Xentel days but I had to call in yesterday to cancel the job. Reason for this is because my low income pension came in and the back pay. We paid off the Visa and are about to open an RRSP for emergency's.

I didn't go into work yesterday because I wasn't scheduled to go in until Thursday but work has been cut back towards just Monday-Friday. Getting this new pension means I'm not too pressed for cash flow over the summer as I would have been Plus I now qualify to get the low income annual seniors benefit. Still getting nowhere with my friend. Its almost like I'm being treated like an ex husband who's divorce went wrong. And she was just a friend! 🙄.  Anyway, that's all for now.
