What with

Apple's Face time security being breached, probably wouldn't phase the Apple fanboy/girl. Still I'll give Apple credit for getting on top of the issue asap. In that respect I'm glad I broke the contract at the appropriate time for my iPhone 8 in November. I broke the contract within the 7 day grace period. The phone # still shows up on my iPad 2 because it had a simm card. Most likely when I get my GIS pension, I'll get the cell phone again but that wont be until the next November.

This polar vortex has been gripping much of the US and Canada. Today we had got up to +3 but that's apparently
about to change. Friday we're supposed to go -16 and for the first half February, its suppose to get a lot colder then that. February has always been winter's coldest month on the parries anyway, but anything can happen. We hadn't received a -20C kind of day this season since our first real snow fall November 2nd on that Friday.

I got an update about work from the job and we're going to be training on the new computers once a project comes in, which could be in a couple of weeks. My guess is around the Family day weekend. Work could pick up from there and I'm ok ay with that. I got lots of hockey after the break, lodge to keep me occupied, so its all good. Anyway, stay warm everyone that's all for now.

Not a lot going at the moment

Starting to get a little bored around here but I'm going in for Saturday. Its a brief training course on the new office work computers and I'll get my books and a bite to eat, go home and watch the hockey game.

I've been getting some reading in, with Robin Hobb's . Assassins apprentice. Its a good read so far. I've got the other 2 in the trilogy and another trilogy of the authors at Audrey's. I'll get those Saturday afternoon on my way home.

Other then that today its cold but tomorrow the temperature is supposed to be about +2*C, which for us this time of year almost feels like Spring. Anyway, that's all for now.

It was the Oilers fan base

that wanted the removal of Oilers General Manager Peter Chiarelli. That's only part of the problem. The Oilers are plagued by having too many of the old boys from Edmonton's Stanley Cup glory days in its ranks. Time to let these former Oilers go and hire a GM with a good hockey IQ, like a Mark Hunter kind of a guy. Plan for the future. The Oilers could remove about 60% of their $4-6M contract players replace them with minor leaguers and get similar results that they've had lately. We'll see what happens before trade deadline/off season.

Some people its hard to say No to. In the case of my friend after over a 20 year absence, she comes back into my life after I had forgotten her. I was surprised to hear her suggest we hang out for lunch once a month. Too me that's dating. Once a month? I can see something casual like 4 times a year and text, that sort of thing. I was even going to propose a casual friendship as we were walking out of the mall last April. "Lets keep this going, you know 3-4 times a year and text each other 2-4 times a week. Is that ok with you?" Then before I could mention my idea she comes out with this once a month notion, when all I wanted was casual friendship. Yeesh. Anyway, that's all for now.

My shift was

good. I had a great night and I have 11 days off. As an added bonus the weather is going to be good. The only down side is there is no hockey. However the way the Oilers are playing, I lost interest anyway. Maybe they will play better in the 2nd half of the season. Most likely I'll have a longer post on the weekend, who knows? Anyway, that's about all for now.

Last week was last week

what with returning back to work and all, if not briefly. This afternoon, its just on the computer. Anne makes us a late Sunday brunch. We ordered Chinese food last night. What a waste of $10. I was watching the Oilers lose last night so I didn't feel like going out in the cold to get a bite to eat.

I was going to work on a You Tube video for my channel but since this bug/cold, I want to save my voice for work tomorrow. The topic of this video, is going to be how I record my Digital audio Work station often just referred to as a Daw. Translation: "Garageband" etc. I see this question asked a lot. After I get my Reason 10 account paid up I'd like to get the Nintendo Switch, once work picks up. This will probably be late February, early March.

I'm still working it off (outside my wife) how a close friend walked out on me. She comes into my life after a 20 year absence, and walks away, closes the door 9 months later. It'll take me awhile to work that out of my system, but I will. My door is always open but I've got to move on. At least I have my job, my marriage and my lodge. Plus I'm drinking more water then juice and I cut out pop. Now that I've had that experience I know how "to handle" the situation again if it ever comes up with somebody else.

Other then that there's an Oilers game tonight, and after an unexpected shift tomorrow, I'm going to the rec centre a couple times this week and hopefully this bug/cold wont expand into something larger. Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm off work tonight for a

scheduled shift off. I have a meeting later today at 7pm. Its personal but I'm back at the job tomorrow. I could have 2 weeks off with a shift here and there but we'll see.

I Isn't this interesting: I didn't know that its illegal to show emails and chats to a 3rd party without ones consent is against the Law. I kept on getting reminded in a recent chat about deception/betrayal of trust. But I never did betrayed a trust except once as the chat was happening to a 3rd party involved. Everyone has dirt on their hands here, including me.

I can see dropping somebody because of medical issues, friends needing space, that sort of thing. Its not like anyone is committing fraud. 😎 I was always taught in marriage and life in general if you made a mistake you forgive, reconcile, don't let it happen again. Its part of the learning process. Its not life and death or risk losing a friendship over, or block anyone on Facebook. Society teaches us that 2 wrongs don't make a right. If the friendship/relationship is important enough then, its forgive, reconcile, don't let it happen again.

With the Oilers win last night, they are back in the hunt for that last playoff spot. There's lots of hockey left, except coming up there is a bye week and then there's the All Star break. It's been an interesting 5 weeks. Anyway, that's all for now.

Its a new week

not much going on. I've got work this week, a meeting with somebody on Thursday. Trying to connect with another old friend only this time I'm doing the initiating not the other way around. I was out playing the slots with my wife yesterday. We had some fun. Food was ok, I'll be back to Century Park Casino, maybe in the Spring. I'm still trying to get a beat uploaded to my You Tube channel "Jim Shannon on Sounds," but there's been a lot of drama going on around here over the holidays pulling me down. Its all good. Anyway, that's all for now.

It feels good getting

back to work. It looks like work is going to be steady but its market research. I had a personal issue to deal with last night and I was able to watch some hockey.

Finally the Oilers snapped a 5 game losing streak at Rogers place arena last night. I thought. There were 8 seconds in left in the game and McDavid scored his 2nd goal to tie the game at 3. Overtime didn't produce a result, in the game so it went to the 2nd shootout the Oilers had in the entire season. RNH scored and Talbot stopped Florida's shooter, McDavid scored. Talbot needed to stop one more attempt and the shooter hit the goal post. It was 4-3 in overtime. Next up  is Arizona Saturday. Looking forward to that game.

So this week weekend and next week, I'm going to try and avoid anymore drama. Monday is wrestling, Tuesday I get a cheque for 5 hours. On the 17th I have another appointment on the 19th I'm visiting Commercial lodge and the Oilers game after that. So what with work etc. I'm going to have a busy week..

I supose I'm not the first

guy to have been betrayed by a female friend. I still believe in her and the friendship we once had. But I need to get on with my life. I've got music to make and to grow my You Tube channel to work on.

The Oilers were snake bit at the Staples Centre. That's twice this season. They play today in Anaheim at 6pm. This is just a bad hockey team tis year, even with Connor McDavid. To be fair LA was the better team. The Oilers were not prepared and as a result they let the Kings get 3 quick goals. Talbot was no better.

This week, I'm hoping to get back to work. I have another counselling session Thursday. My whole problem is I've been without work for over a month now and stuck inside this apartment. I've been out 3 times in one month. Anyway that's about all for now.

Thursday, January 3, 2019

I'm just waiting for a phone call today or tomorrow

to come into work for this or next week but I'm at lodge tonight. Not good being stuck in here for 6 days. I'm glad Anne does all the shopping.

Yesterday we got up to 7.9 degrees * which was a quite the thing People were out skating in t-shirts. At the moment we're at -3 but it feels like -7 and overcast. I don't like the over night thaw because it gets slippery out there.

Other then the above not a lot going on. I'm still sticking to my "water diet" but I'm having a beer tonight. For this year I'm focusing on my marriage, my job, my music, my lodge, family and friends. No more single female friends. They spell trouble. Anyway, that's all for now.

My first post of 2019

its time for a change, Well, the change began about 2 weeks ago. That's when I began a water diet and juice for meals.

A bit of year in review: In April a voice from my past made contact after a 20+ year absence.  I saved up enough cash for a new computer. So far works good. In October not only did minimum wage go up to $15 but Pot was made legal across the country. I never smoke the stuff. The Eskimo's failed to make the Grey Cup and the Oilers closed out the season with a 6 game losing streak.  My friendship looks like its more or less on life support. We continued a friendship hanging on by a thread but its ok. I'm focusing more on my marriage then anything else.

For this year, I'm continuing my water diet, and focusing more on my marriage, my job, lodge and music. Anyway, that's all for now.
