Well we're back to winter at long last

which could be good or bad, depends on your point of view as a resident here. At the moment its -7 and if I was on pension, I'd call in sick. I'm not yet, so I can't. Next week we're supposed to go into the -15's. It's been a rough month for us what with losing Boots.

The Oilers went from 2nd place in the West just a few days ago down to 5th in the standings. This team's main problem is they have only one line that can score goals: Connor McDavid's line. The rest of the guys aren't scoring. I knew this would happen to us eventually. Its my feeling that the Oilers will be hovering around 9th in the West in March, in and out per game. The last game of the 2016-17 season will be a back to back weekend pair of games with the Canucks. Just a gut feeling but the Oilers will squeak into a playoff position but just by 1 game and 1 goal down to a shoot out.

I'm more or less happy with the PM's decision yesterday that saw approval for a couple of pipelines. It was the right decision to pull out of the Northern Gateway. He gave the green light for the Burnaby Trans Mountain pipeline, and the Edmonton/Wisconsin pipeline. There are a lot of hoops to go through first and I'm not holding my breath the 2 pipelines will get underway, anytime soon. Its good news for Alberta though.

Ok, my schedule for the rest of this week, is looking good. my last day today at the South side job for this week. I got my 3 days in. Then I got lodge tomorrow as its our installation. Then I'm working at the West end job Friday and Saturday, and that is confirmed. Hopefully I can get a full day out of Saturday. I've got possibly 3 weeks to go for December. Anyway, that's all for now.

At least this would be good news for

Alberta if Donald Trump is elected in November: TransAlta (Keystone XL) should make another application. Many people are saying that it doesn't mean that Keystone would get rubber stamped right away but that it would get closer to become reality.

Since "Game of Thrones" came out in book form, I bought and read the first book. I have the 1st 4 books which, I have and don't intend on reading the others anytime soon. Not that there is anything wrong with the series or the writing. Its just that I have too much other things I want to read more. Sure I could watch the television series on HBO and I watched parts of the first one and it was good but its just not what I'm into right now.

Last February my other job invited me back for their Spring campaign beginning March of this year. Apparently this letter of invitation to begin in September for their winter campaign was sent out early last month with a response due date for July 31st. I talked to the boss over the phone on the 27th of last month, and apparently the returned letter was sent out to "where I receive my pay stubs" and based on that over the phone conversation I would be hired on in September. I have yet received any letter. Because I save everything, I looked for this letter for the last Spring campaign and I found it. The boss dated and signed herself February 4th 2016. I emailed the boss in February, saying I'd accept job. For some reason they had an older address dated from when I was working there before Anne and I got married. I think the team leader was supposed to send out the letters but because the office was in a state of being moved no letters were sent out. Its a very confusing situation.

My wife is enjoying watching some of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. I'm proud of our Olympic athletes don't get me wrong. However I don't think winning bronze is something to get all that excited about. So far Canada has yet to win a Gold medal at Rio. I think the Edmonton AA Prospects baseball team have a better chance to win a title before Canada gets a gold medal this summer. We got 1 gold medal at the London Summer games. I'm more of a fan of the Winter Olympics anyway. Canada seems to do better in the Winter Olympics but there's still lots of time. Anyway, that's all for now.

This is turning out to be pretty

good as I'm about to have 6 days off. Its mostly a client end thing but I go back to work next Friday. Anne is struggling with this because its like a huge tragedy of some kind. Sunday is my regular scheduled day off and I'm off Wednesday for Remembrance day, which I get paid for I believe and I'm back to work Friday as management said. I'll be missing 4 days but its not permanent as we got work for the immediate future. I'm not even going to have a Christmas break. So I'm going to enjoy this time off while I can.

Obama went and pulled the plug on the Keystone pipeline yesterday. We've been sending oilsands oil mostly by rail anyway and have been doing this for a long time. At least once a week before $45 oil, I'd see cars heading South to the boarder. I'm sure after the US election in 2016 the GOP will reverse Obama's decision. The Republicans are in favour of Keystone but at $45 oil?

I'm considering with this time off to make a couple of beats at the Library. I can from their sound booth log into my YouTube account and work from there, using their computers and their webcam on better equipment then what I have here at home Also they have Mac's and Ableton Live. Anyway, that's about all for now.
