of 2009, oil prices bottomed out at $33. Our household got through that crisis unscathed. Now oil is at about $37.14. Is the threshold $33? Oil prices could hover around this price for months, who knows? When oil prices drop our local economy suffers. On my commute I pass by Hope Mission every day and there's usually a huge line up around supper time. I'm hoping oil prices rebound soon but I'm not holding my breath they will.
A US politician running for the GOP nomination (we know who his name is as he's a real card.) is causing a world wide stir by saying the US should ban all Muslims from entering the country. WTF? Talk about being unhinged. He was suggesting that all Mosqu's be shut down! That is one of the most nut case things I have ever heard. Even members of the Republican party are saying this guy is out to lunch. Even members of his own party are giving their heads a shake. These kinds of comments are going to back fire on him big time.
Lately I've been leaving out of here shortly before 3pm. I take the East escalator at central station, up 2 quick flights of stairs and I'm at street level meeting the #5 or #3 bus. Either will take me to my destination, within 15 minutes of my shift. Its slick and easy and at night, I'm in no hurry to get to my bus as I usually get home within an hour. If I have the early job, I get home at about 9:30pm. If its the late job I get home at 10:30pm. I need to call the super at my late job to see if I'm going in for a few days Thursday or Friday. Or is the job over today. If that's the case and its the last day on the late job, I can put more hours in on the early job. Anyway, that's all for now.

Lots of people are talking about the price of
oil. Oil prices can make or break a Nation's economy. Just look at what its doing to Russia as their currency is devalued. Sanctions over Putin's missadventure in the Ukraine have something to do with it a well. Oil prices sank to a low of about $43/barrel earlier in March and for the longest time has been floating around $47-$50. Oil prices are having an affect on our local economy as well. Yesterday the price of oil reached a land mark high lately of $53! At the moment oil is at $53.98 and its going to go up and down like that for God knows how long.
Some sad news recently out of Hollywood. James Best better known as the actor that played Rosco P. Coltrane (Dukes of Hazzard) passed away. Best had roles in dozens of TV shows. I always thought James Best and Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) made the Dukes better then it was. Roscoe kept on calling people in the show dipstick. The Dukes of Hazzard ran for 7 seasons and was one of the highest rated shows 2nd behind Dallas. Best passed away Sunday from complications of pneumonia.
I left out of here feeling better then I have had in over a few days now. We're not sure what's going in across the street when whatever it is that's being built. I was a bit early and I had a wait at the bus stop on the for half an hour reading my book and went to the office. Work went along ok and I had a couple of coughing episodes. I'll be able to work the week out. Its going to be a struggle but I'll be ok. Anyway, that's all for now.

What I like about taking
a melatonin during the week is, it's not like a sleeping pill that can knock me out and remain in my system hours later. A melatonin has a similar effect but I don't get that "after taste" in my system like a sleeping pill gives.
The Keystone pipeline got the axe by 1 vote but it's only temporary. When the Republicans get in power next year, it'll happen. We still have the Trans Canada pipeline that will go ahead soon as well, I hope.
There was a hockey poll of the best and the worst NHL coaches and its no surprise that the best NHL coach has recently won a Stanley cup. Our Dallas Eakins came in "last" place, if the poll means anything. Taylor Hall said the poll is stupid and Eakins is a good coach. I agree.
I was working 3 different projects yesterday. Yeesh. The first one is winding down and I spent 1.5 hours on it and got nothing. The other project about 3 hours and the new project for 3 hours.
ETS had scheduling problems yesterday morning and I barely got into the office on time. Anyway, that's all for now.

About 3pm today
I'm paying a visit to the lab to get some blood work done. After that (hopefully) that's it for medical stuff for awhile.
Saturday the people of Kitimat BC in a non binding plebiscite, voted against the northern Gateway pipeline. As much as I'm in favour of the project, I didn't like the route over the mountains and then through narrow waterways. There are other routes to get the oil to Asian markets, like Prince Rupert or even southern BC. The project is not dead in the water. We could also move our oil by rail to Prince Rupert as well. Lots of options.
I left a message on a employment agencies voice mail that helps people with discabilities find meaningful work. Hopefully I'll get a call this week. I like my job just that the money's no good. If I could get a permanent part time day job, I could live with that. After my lab visit this afternoon, it's off into work for my 5-9. Anyway, that's all for now.
