This week not much has been going

on. I went out Monday to buy my special order books at Audrey's. Tuesday was that disastrous Chicago/Oilers hockey game. Wednesday was a right off and last night I got out for lodge. I could have ventured out to another lodge in the same building Wednesday. I probably should have. And of course last night I'm out the Oilers win one in Minneapolis🙄. These guys win one lose 2. Yeesh. Also Wednesday night Anne and I watched the most recent Mission impossible movie MI 6 with Tom Cruise. We loved it. Even better because Telus gave it to us for free.

I've been using Maschine (by Native Instruments) off and on since 2011 but my old laptop just couldn't keep up. Now with a new computer I've had for 9 months I'm itching to get back into it. I hope to get the recent update to Maschine today just to add some new life into this old box. Plus I can take advantage of an expansion I won from a live stream from Accurate beats.

I haven't heard anything from work yet but I'm hoping by next Friday I'll be hearing something. I'm going to a meeting Thursday for Valentines day afternoon. After that I'm going to treat myself to a Wendy's. Other then last nights game, I missed I'm watching a lot of hockey, reading. I need more friends in my life but lately over the last several months my social life has been taken a nose dive since December. Anne and I want to go out to Albert's Londonderry Mall for Family day, so that should be ok. Anyway that's about all for now.

I didn't miss much in

today's Flyers/Oilers game. This is a team sliding into last place over all. There's 29 games left , and the Oilers play tomorrow in Montreal. But at least the Oilers got 1 point.

My breakfast meeting this morning was good. There was about 8 of us. Its always good meeting new people. I didn't have much of an appetite. Seldom ever do in the mornings.

Over night the temps just plummeted. When I left for my meeting about a 10 minute walk, I was so bundled up, I wasn't cold at all. On the way back however my walk trudging through the snow was like in a white out condition. We got another 2 weeks of this. Anyway that's all for now.

What with

Apple's Face time security being breached, probably wouldn't phase the Apple fanboy/girl. Still I'll give Apple credit for getting on top of the issue asap. In that respect I'm glad I broke the contract at the appropriate time for my iPhone 8 in November. I broke the contract within the 7 day grace period. The phone # still shows up on my iPad 2 because it had a simm card. Most likely when I get my GIS pension, I'll get the cell phone again but that wont be until the next November.

This polar vortex has been gripping much of the US and Canada. Today we had got up to +3 but that's apparently
about to change. Friday we're supposed to go -16 and for the first half February, its suppose to get a lot colder then that. February has always been winter's coldest month on the parries anyway, but anything can happen. We hadn't received a -20C kind of day this season since our first real snow fall November 2nd on that Friday.

I got an update about work from the job and we're going to be training on the new computers once a project comes in, which could be in a couple of weeks. My guess is around the Family day weekend. Work could pick up from there and I'm ok ay with that. I got lots of hockey after the break, lodge to keep me occupied, so its all good. Anyway, stay warm everyone that's all for now.

Not a lot going at the moment

Starting to get a little bored around here but I'm going in for Saturday. Its a brief training course on the new office work computers and I'll get my books and a bite to eat, go home and watch the hockey game.

I've been getting some reading in, with Robin Hobb's . Assassins apprentice. Its a good read so far. I've got the other 2 in the trilogy and another trilogy of the authors at Audrey's. I'll get those Saturday afternoon on my way home.

Other then that today its cold but tomorrow the temperature is supposed to be about +2*C, which for us this time of year almost feels like Spring. Anyway, that's all for now.

It was the Oilers fan base

that wanted the removal of Oilers General Manager Peter Chiarelli. That's only part of the problem. The Oilers are plagued by having too many of the old boys from Edmonton's Stanley Cup glory days in its ranks. Time to let these former Oilers go and hire a GM with a good hockey IQ, like a Mark Hunter kind of a guy. Plan for the future. The Oilers could remove about 60% of their $4-6M contract players replace them with minor leaguers and get similar results that they've had lately. We'll see what happens before trade deadline/off season.

Some people its hard to say No to. In the case of my friend after over a 20 year absence, she comes back into my life after I had forgotten her. I was surprised to hear her suggest we hang out for lunch once a month. Too me that's dating. Once a month? I can see something casual like 4 times a year and text, that sort of thing. I was even going to propose a casual friendship as we were walking out of the mall last April. "Lets keep this going, you know 3-4 times a year and text each other 2-4 times a week. Is that ok with you?" Then before I could mention my idea she comes out with this once a month notion, when all I wanted was casual friendship. Yeesh. Anyway, that's all for now.

My shift was

good. I had a great night and I have 11 days off. As an added bonus the weather is going to be good. The only down side is there is no hockey. However the way the Oilers are playing, I lost interest anyway. Maybe they will play better in the 2nd half of the season. Most likely I'll have a longer post on the weekend, who knows? Anyway, that's about all for now.

Last week was last week

what with returning back to work and all, if not briefly. This afternoon, its just on the computer. Anne makes us a late Sunday brunch. We ordered Chinese food last night. What a waste of $10. I was watching the Oilers lose last night so I didn't feel like going out in the cold to get a bite to eat.

I was going to work on a You Tube video for my channel but since this bug/cold, I want to save my voice for work tomorrow. The topic of this video, is going to be how I record my Digital audio Work station often just referred to as a Daw. Translation: "Garageband" etc. I see this question asked a lot. After I get my Reason 10 account paid up I'd like to get the Nintendo Switch, once work picks up. This will probably be late February, early March.

I'm still working it off (outside my wife) how a close friend walked out on me. She comes into my life after a 20 year absence, and walks away, closes the door 9 months later. It'll take me awhile to work that out of my system, but I will. My door is always open but I've got to move on. At least I have my job, my marriage and my lodge. Plus I'm drinking more water then juice and I cut out pop. Now that I've had that experience I know how "to handle" the situation again if it ever comes up with somebody else.

Other then that there's an Oilers game tonight, and after an unexpected shift tomorrow, I'm going to the rec centre a couple times this week and hopefully this bug/cold wont expand into something larger. Anyway, that's all for now.
