Its been nearly 2 weeks since I

uploaded a post here not that I've been terribly busy or forgetful. It's just that there has been nothing worthwhile to say.

Nothing exciting going on in my world. Anne is working. I'm enjoying my time off. Hopefully, this will continue until the end of the month. From here on in though I'll be working 3 days a week if they'll have me. The more money I make the more it impacts my pension. My pension is steady, but my job isn't. I can budget for 3 days a week.

Last week I went and bought Sampletank 4 max (st4) I bought st2 when I first got into the hobby of "music production". it was a 32-bit program back in 2011 on a couple of CDs. Lots of good instruments. Enter st 4 max. I've been hearing great things about it. Apparently, st 4 max is a 240Gb install and boasts over 7000 sounds. Apparently, because there are no e guitars or e basses, no brass, etc. It's a bitch to install as well. It took me a while to figure out. I still don't have it all installed, but no way 7000 sounds. The UI is ugly af.

The main surprise for me last month was Davinici's Resolve 17 (dr). I've been sleeping on this video editing software for a long time. I didn't think my 3ghz 6core budget PC could handle rendering projects. Mind you I haven't delved into the advanced stuff but so far, no problem. The best part about dr is it's free. no watermark nothing. I want to get the paid version at cad $400 soon.

At the moment, I'm enjoying my morning coffee. Also last month I uploaded 3 videos to my channel. I also made a conscious decision to use less of Facebook. I'm using it for chat and my Facebook groups. That's it. If people want to know what I'm doing they can come here. I'm not that hard to find. Anyway, that's all for now.

Thanks to my tax

return I was able to pay off my bills. I'm debt free. For awhile.

Anne is busy assembling a walker. She bought it at Walmart for ~ $120. She says we can try it when she figures out how it works. This might be awkward moving it up and down the stairs. It might be worthwhile or a headache. .

Yesterday I bought a game from the Nintendo eshop: Baldur's Gate 1 & 2. The price was right at $13. I played around with it and will be delving more into it later on. Anyway, that's about all for now.

The latest here in this

is the rial company known as CN went on strike Sunday. This could have far-reaching implications. I hope the Feds impose back-to-work legislation soon. Not good news.

As for me, I'm just taking it easy. I posted another video last week. Having fun making noise. As it is, I'm enjoying my time off.

The "big snowstorm" that was supposed to give us about 10cm, didn't amount to much around here. There were some white-out conditions on the highway. Lots of fender bangers. Nothing too serious.

My social media channels have been pretty quiet lately. I received a few nuisance calls this morning. We're expecting something from Amazon or rather Anne is. Other than following the results in Ukraine it's all quiet around here. Anyway that's all for now.

This weekend not much is happening

right now. I've got a hockey game tomorrow but that's on at 8pm as Tampa is in town. Also, Sunday is daylight savings time we set clocks ahead 1 hour. it looks like a slow quiet weekend. Even Social media is quiet. I'm posting on Facebook just about every day. Next week looks like it's more of the same. It's my wife's birthday on Wednesday so I'm taking her out to dinner.

I'm still having some grief over my right eye. Could be eye strain most likely. Of course, the world is watching what's going on in Ukraine. Still learning Davinci's Resolve but I might get the paid version later this month. Anyway, that's all for now.

Having a good afternoon

so far Been playing around with Davinci's resolve over the weekend and doing my taxes. At the moment I have a dry right eye causing me a bit of grief. I'm just drinking coffee and enjoying my afternoon. Washington Capitals are in town. Hopefully, the Oilers can get out of this 3 game losing slump. Anyway, that's all for now.

The war in Ukraine

is dragging out to its 10th day. Not sure how many Ukrainian ground forces are left, if any. There's talk of Nato imposing a "no-fly" zone over Ukraine. Putin said such a provocation would indicate that the signatories of such a move would mean they would be involved in the war. In order to risk a broader engagement in the conflict, the best thing Nato/UN could do is just nothing. A "No-fly" zone imposed by outside countries could lead to war. Nobody wants that. I pray for Ukraine

Oilers we're hosting Montreal last night at Rogers place arena. What a game. Oilers won the first of 2 meetings with the Canadians, last night was the Habs' turn: 5-2. Smith played well. Montreal is last in the East. There should be (On paper) no way we should have lost that game.

I took out the "people we like" and blog lists in the left column of this blog. It hasn't been updated in a while and added a photo link to my YouTube channel. If the link/photo is absent, I'm offline.

Looks like a quiet week ahead. I'm enjoying my time off, but I hope there is some work coming up. Anyway, that's all for now.

Is blogging about

once a week ok? My output is low here but I'm still on Facebook if you need more😀

Over the last couple of days, I've been watching a lot of videos on Davinci's resolve. Mostly "Fusion." So far I've yet to render anything out. I've been hearing stories that even with a top-end video card, it can take hours to render graphics. I've yet to do this. Still learning about nodes. Before I want to render anything out I want to make sure I have enough Ram.

We got a truckload of snow overnight. It's like a cloud falling down. Very fine. It's going to take us a few days to dig out of this but it's nothing like they get in Nova Scotia.

What with it being tax time, we received our tax forms but there are no deductions on them. Not sure if we can file with these or not. Anyway, we're holding up ok in Clareview. Something tells me it's going to be a long month. That's all for now.
